Wilkie - congrats on the blue

Shimmer - glad you're enjoying it, sounds totally exhausting

Raisin/eandh - ditto on sleep deprivation. Am shattered. And have so much less patience when shattered

Who was asking about milk? I don't intend to swap mine over to semi skimmed any time soon TBH. I admit I am totally anal about what they eat and drink, but as far as milk is concerned, I feel they are 2 healthy and very active kids in no danger of obesity. I think at this age they need calories, especially since I'm so anal about what they eat otherwise !

We had a burst water main here, which was a PITA as these things are. The whole mains pipe is rusted to hell. But the complete donkey who had the house before us built an extension over the water main, so if we decided to replace the whole pipe to prevent more bursts (or if we don't replace it and wait until it does burst again) we would have to dig up the floor and remove half of the kitchen to reach it . This is the same twat as did DIY plumbing and electrics which left us with an enormous leak in an unearthed house

Wilkiepedia · 19/05/2009 10:26

Hello all. Have been hibernating in my own pit of despair but am out now.

Nothing interesting to report whatsoever other than my stretchmarks on my tum are itching so much I want to pull my skin off.

Just thought I better post something before this thread drops off my list - am lurking but a bit miserable so not posting

x

Reggiee · 19/05/2009 12:55

Hey Wilkie - what's up? Are you hacked off with being pg or are there other issues? Not long now . BTW is it just your tum that is itching, or are your hands and other places itching too?

Eah I'd love to do a triathalon. Shame I can't run or bike or swim

Lizz ikwym about the stuff generated from leaving the housse for a nano second. I love to get everything tidied up asap but dh likes to rest before tackling washing etc, so guess who ends up doing it all??

Lal I heard about the M&S thing, but don't fancy joining the v long queue for these...good that they are only allowing 5 per customer but not sure how you police that.

PCF forgot about half term, and nearly forgot about the bank holiday. What did T weigh? B put on 1lb 2oz last week, and it feels like he's put on loads again this week as he's just about popping out of his newborn sleepsuits. Going to the clinic tomorrow afternoon if I can.

Vino / Wilkie my sis hasn't called so I think that means she isn't coming today. When are you coming over tomorrow? Morning would be better for me - any time - I'm up from 5am.....

Wilkiepedia · 19/05/2009 13:37

Ey up Reg. Yes just fed up with pg particularly as everyone else I know who was pg has now popped, am last one

Think me and Vin will be with you about 11am, I am leaving here for Vin's house about 10am, J is at nursery.

Just been up to hosp cos after posting I went to loo and had had a bit of bleeding. They checked me over and said I have thrush which prob caused some soreness and bleeding (I can't feel anything and didn't even know I had it!!) but they rescanned me to check placenta so I got to see little man waggling his willy at me again {grin]

Shimmer · 19/05/2009 21:55

Hi all. I have news...............

I'm Pregnant!!

So, I have been inspired to spill the beans a bit early (I was trying to wait til 12 weeks, and I'm only 10 now) in order to make Wilkie feel better. You will DEFINITELY be getting your LO WAAAAAAY before me! So now you know someone who is (alot) less pregnant than you.

My new LO is due December 15th by my calculations. So not for aaaaaaaages, but I am tremendously excited anyway And I would like to hear nothing but positive reports from all of you with 2 now about how it's a breeze!

I'm deffo up for meet-up Sept. 27th!! Brilliant.

Wilkiepedia · 19/05/2009 22:06

Aw Shimmer that is wonderful news!!!!!! Am so pleased for you, I bet you are soooo excited!!!!!! Might be a christmas baby. How are you feeling?

eandh · 20/05/2009 07:10

congratulations shimmer fantastic news having 2 is ok at times fantastic and a breeze

Reggiee · 20/05/2009 07:57

WHAY-HAAYYYYYYYYY SHIMMER . FAB news. It's not like you sounded broody when all the other pregnancies were announced . A baby for Xmas! How are you feeling? Do you feel different to when you were pg with F?
By the way, I am finding having two (albeit only 4 weeks in) waaay easier than I expected. It might be that B is a much easier baby than P ever was (he sleeps for a start), or I am much more chilled (there are no tears on an hourly basis - in fact, there are no tears ). Obviously, I have now jinxed it and it will go t!ts up...

Wilkie / Vino so you didn't fancy my invite of early breakfast round my gaff then . See you soon!

So, LAL / anyone gone to M&S today for the 1p items?

Lizzzombie · 20/05/2009 08:06

Congratulations Shimmer! Fab news! Very exciting. x

Lizzzombie · 20/05/2009 08:07

Pcf aaah t is so little bless him. How is dh getting on at the new shop ?

Rgee sounds like you have setteled into 2 kids perfectly. Can you remember when eah dd tipped h out her moses basket and when aidan pulled lauren out of her bouncy chair and dragged her to his toy box where did we go wrong.

Eah how are your guests ?

Lizz it might be easier to buy one off ebay that is about 10 no weaning, shitty nappies ect.

I dident go to m&s might pop in tomorrow as im at work . Not much to report from my end 19 more sleeps until our holiday aidans teachers helped him make a holiday countdown chart so we know the number of sleeps. We are off to turkey.

Reggiee · 20/05/2009 18:41

Had a lovely morning today with the gals. Vino looked after me and Wilkie very well indeed, although was disappointed by the lack of home cooked lunch . Wilkie's bump is fab - proper celeb and all our front. E & S were very good, and B slept most of the time they were hear.
Thanks for coming - lovely to see youj all

Took him to get weighed this afternoon and he is 9lb 13 . So he's put on 3oz per day this last week!!! P was 9 weeks old before she hit this weight.
PCF our clinic was really busy today so I reckon no one will be there next week

Lizz pmsl at you buying a small person from China. Just give me a shout and I can loan you one of mine for an indefinite period.

Am tired now. Yawn.

2Happy · 20/05/2009 19:58

Hey congraulations Shimmer, great news

OP posts:
Lizzzombie · 20/05/2009 20:42

Rgee/Wilks/Vino - No home cooked lunch? Poor show!

Rgee - I only want the small one if you are offering. 2 year olds are too much hard work. = yawn!

I just found out one of my RL mates whose DS is 2 months younger than DJ, & is due in August, is having a little girl. Am so chuffed, have already brought presents! girls clothes are sooooooooo adorable!

Dragonhart · 20/05/2009 20:53

Congratulations Shimmer! That is great news. My dsis is preg too due end of Nov so our kids and hers will all be nice and close in age. Do you know your scan date yet?

Laughalot- Ruth takes any chance she can to jump on Rachel and I left Rachel in one of those blow up rings playing with Ruth watching tv for 2 seconds while I went to get Ruth's drink which I had left in kitchen. On way back I met Ruth carrying Rachel! Rachels arms were up by her ears as RUth was waddling along struggling under the weight!

eandh · 20/05/2009 21:22

at your meet up!

Rgee - isnt he doing well!!

PCF - saw your fb status glad you had a giid afternoon

Lizz - do you not get your baby fix at work??

DH - but at ruth waddling with rachel!!

ummm now I cant remember who else posted???

Got my ebay bargain tonight am so pleased with it (pics on fb)

Shimmer · 20/05/2009 22:21

Thanks for the congratulations everyone!!

I feel ill Morning sickness has been going on all day for weeks and I have a horrible horrible cold. Grrrrrr.

vinorouge · 21/05/2009 21:31

Lizz - there was no home cooked lunch because I am totally knackered at the moment. So I cheated and bought some fresh soup, gorgeous bread and some choc brownies. I also took us each a fruit corner from my fridge so although I hadn't made anything - which is very unlike me - it hit the spot. I think, I hope, that Ellen even managed to eat hers without leaving a tomato trail.

Anyway, little Ben is soooooo sweet and even though he is piling on the weight he seemed so tiny. I have to say I felt no broodiness at all.

I took E&S to visit another new baby after we had been to rgees. Confusingly for Ellen, the babys mum has the same RL name as Rgee and I kept muddling up the names of the babies, the afternoon baby was called Noah. He is 12 weeks and was touch and go after birth as his heart valves were the wrong way round or something but all is well now after a major keyhole surgery op.

Wilkie is, as Rgee says, blooming. I like the description of her 'celeb' bump.

PCF - things sound ok for you which is good

Dragon - E likes lifting and carrying S too so we have had a few hairy moments. Now S is crawling E particularly likes trying to sit on her back as if she's riding a horse. Poor sylvie!!!

2happy - hello.

LAL - yes DH is excited about the cup final but isn't that positive, thhink I am more so than him. We'll be in Liverpool at his parents while he watches the match.

Shimmer - congrats on your news !! Wahey !!

Oooh I am almost tempted to come to Lewes on for your SE meet up........

We have had a great day today, took E&S to Brimham Rocks (for anyone thats heard of it) and had a wicked time climbing, hiding, jumping in puddles and having a picnic. I can't wait til Sylvie can walk and run.

Wilkiepedia · 21/05/2009 22:19

Vino - WOW Brimham Rocks, totally forgot about that place, J would love it. How far is it from here?

Can I just say that I Vino. Bringing me and RGee soup, bread (which embarrassingly I must have eated half of), fruit corners AND brownies, AND she made cups of tea....she is just like the pregnancy books say and is the type of person you WANT to visit when you have a baby.

Baby Ben is absolutely beautiful and titchy. RGee is very chilled and lost all her baby weight already . Can't wait to see my little bundle.

Thank you for the 'celeb bump' comments, I feel like a whale. My stretch marks are driving me utterly insane with the itching. I went to GP today and got some hydrocortisone cream which is doing f*ck all for the itching. I then had to buy Anusol as have got piles. I then had to go to hosp to have an anti-d injection as the baby's blood has mixed with mine and as he is rh + and I am rh - they needed to stop any contamination. I got home, my friend dropped in for a cuppa and I promptly sobbed in her arms for about 15 minutes. Bless her.

I'm sorry, about all my me me me posts, I am a bit self absorbed at the moment. Will be back to my Wilkie best hopefully soon!

laughalot · 22/05/2009 11:34

Wilkie you are allowed to sob you are coming up to what I think is the hardest part of a pregnancy. When I had bad itching with aidan they did let me have piriton might be worth a try.

I feel your pain with the anti d both mine are dh blood type so when both were born I had to have a jab in my bottom . I think the anti d bloody hurts.

Ola to everyone else anybody got any exciting plans for the weekend ? We have got dh grans 80th birthday party tomorrow night. She makes me laugh last week she dragged waynes mum to a boyzone tribute night except she got the wrong night and it was westlife and take that . What made me chuckle even more was the fact that there was a rather large lady who sat next to her and at the top of her voice she said that lady is like that beth ditto how the hell does a 80 year old know who beth ditto is ?

raisingrrrl · 22/05/2009 16:46

Wilkie - try calendula cream for the itching, and if you have a rash it's worth trying sulphur homeopathy tablets. I was a total sceptic about homeopathy, but we tried calendula and sulphur for Z's eczema as a last ditch attempt before using steroid creams and it cleared up! The real bonus of it is that if it doesn't work it won't do any harm. I hated the last few weeks of pregnancy - I think that's why I had all the false labours, wishful thinking!

I would be well up for a SE meet up in Sept, we could all go to Shimmer's bookshop!

Congrats Shimmer, fab news! Having 2 is exhausting frustrating great (most of the time)

I'm just watching Ricki Lake, don't American people have weird names? There's 2 people on there called Shamieka and Conquest! Wtf?!?

Lizzzombie · 22/05/2009 19:10

Afternoon ladies!
Well, my baby has been asleep for nearly an hour now! I have totally caned him today. We left the house at 8.30am to drop of mates DD at nursery, kept walking into town to do some shopping, then onto local playground, popped home to grab beach stuff and met mate on beach for a picnic in the sunshine then on to the park afterwads. Bathtime at 4pm, tea at 5pm & bed at 6pm. LOVE IT!
Am shattered now, and contemplating fish n chips when DP gets home as the contents of my freezer is somewhat unappatizing!

Vino - I hadn't realised you'de taken lunch to Rgees house. What a lovely idea. I'm going to steal that one.
Rgee - So..you've lost your baby weight already hmm? BUT - have you lost all the toddler weight aswell? Thats the problem I have. My spare tyre is now important to me as it provides extra support when carrying a 'needy' 2 yearold!
Wilks - Bummer about itching all over. I 2nd homeopathy. I am a HUGE fan of it. Its magic. Really truly works. Its not buncum and nonsense at all, I promise.
Raisin - Longtime no hear! You have deserted MN for FB haven't you! I know! Its not just Americans with weird names. Apparently most of my customers name their babies stupid things too. I had a gorgeous chubby little girl in this week, about 10 days old. I asked her name, and got the response "Timorrah" (like that woman from E! channel on sky) Very weird. Like - why???
LAL - Did you go to the M&S thing in the end? There was still big queue outside our one today (3 days in) full of people bleating on about how much it would be worth on ebay and in 25 years time etc. Yeah...whatever!
PCF - Arundel seemed lovely, we went to a little park opposite the castle, with a nice slide etc in it. Hope all is well with you.

Ok...really should tidy house or something...have an hour before DP gets home & have a mountain of ironing to do.
Thanks for the comments on FB about my little darling's photo! It was a pixifoto £5 special, and royal mail managed to loose the first copy so I rang Pixifoto who sent out a replacement, no questions asked, straight away and buy registered mail so it wouldn't happen again. I was SO impressed by them!

xxx laters xxx

Wilkiepedia · 22/05/2009 21:59

Thanks re the itching comments. It is PUPPS, lovely GP I saw today gave me antihistamines (think I may just camp at GPs), have taken one tonight and smeared on some steroid cream (OK I applied sparingly as per instructions but was a real struggle not to empty whole tube on tum) and feels a bit better. Looks really attractive, hugh purple and red angry stretchmarks above and below my belly button, each stretchmark is filled with tiny blister spots to make them raised and angry...remind me NEVER to do pg again please ladies......!!!

If this doesn't work I will be turning to homeopathy!
