Wilkie - congrats on the blue

Shimmer - glad you're enjoying it, sounds totally exhausting

Raisin/eandh - ditto on sleep deprivation. Am shattered. And have so much less patience when shattered

Who was asking about milk? I don't intend to swap mine over to semi skimmed any time soon TBH. I admit I am totally anal about what they eat and drink, but as far as milk is concerned, I feel they are 2 healthy and very active kids in no danger of obesity. I think at this age they need calories, especially since I'm so anal about what they eat otherwise !

We had a burst water main here, which was a PITA as these things are. The whole mains pipe is rusted to hell. But the complete donkey who had the house before us built an extension over the water main, so if we decided to replace the whole pipe to prevent more bursts (or if we don't replace it and wait until it does burst again) we would have to dig up the floor and remove half of the kitchen to reach it . This is the same twat as did DIY plumbing and electrics which left us with an enormous leak in an unearthed house

Hi guys iv loaded some pics on my profile of the house finally done !!!!

Be back later ....

Wilkiepedia · 11/03/2009 15:35

LAL - wow! Your house ain't for the fainthearted It looks lovely and I bet it is nice to have it finally sorted. We are still waiting for our lounge carpet and fireplace but should be done by Thurs!

Reg - how many weeks to go?

Vino - bum about shower door. I would have PMSL at him though! Bless

Thanks for all suggestions re BFing. My friend has kindly offered to lend me her electric pump - I have a feeling it will be like being a cow being milked. Lovely.

Am fucking HUGE and have a foot stuck under a rib I think. Am starting to think about labour and feel a bit scared weirdly. Wasn't that bothered last time.

Nothing interesting to report, at work, bored, feeling a bit grouchy as no one else in so have 5 phone and 20 managers to look after but it's not as busy as I suspected

eandh · 11/03/2009 16:04

Afternoon -LAL am loving the house but had seen it anyway

Wilkie - Ellies head was stuck under my rib from 31 weeks it was agony and such a relief when they finally got her out as I could breathe again

Had a busy day Ellie's hospital test cancelled half an hour before it was due so took her to school late and we have spent the entire afternoon sorting the garden and we now have a huge vegetable patch, we're growing potatos, lettuce { different ones} tomatos, runner beans {not doine yet} onions, garlic, carrots, sweetcorn, spring onions and cucmber I cant wait for the smmer when it'll all be grown

laughalot · 11/03/2009 16:24

Wilkie its because you know what is to come ! I was worried 2nd time round but remember j has made a pathway ready for baby num 2 . I had epidural, pethadine and gas with aidan with lauren I just had gas you ill be fine.

Eah im coming to yours for dinner in the summer nom nom.

eandh · 11/03/2009 16:44

I just called you and you didnt answer LAL {wasnt urgent just something v.funny to tell you}

raisingrrrl · 12/03/2009 09:24

Wilkie - my doula told me that people are always more apprehensive about labour no 2 because you know what to expect! Like LaL, I had the works in pain relief with Z but with M I only had gas 15 minutes before she was born!!

Well, the big news in our house is that Z has decided to nurse again! So I'm a tandem nurser! It's very sweet, Z strokes M's head while they're nursing and waves bye bye to the milks when they leave! His speech has developed so much since I last nursed him, it's very cute to hear him nurse and mumble, "Mmm....delicious!"

Dragonhart · 12/03/2009 22:10

Raisin- You are a better woman than me! There is no way I would have had the energy to feed two! Hard enough with a newborn let alone with a 2yo too. Bet it will help with losing any baby fat though.

Speaking of bf, has anyone got any advice about getting your baby to take a bottle? I am getting desperate now. This is what I have tried;

-cups (with and without valves) MAM bottle (some success on one day but not since) avent bottle, 'Breastflow' bottle, open cup, doddy (sp?) cup.

-breast milk, formula

-me, DH and my mum have tried

I have tried all different positions too. Did anyone else have this prob? I think the main problem is that she just does not want me to do it, same with food.

raisingrrrl · 12/03/2009 22:12

How very dare you - I don't have any baby fat!!

Dragonhart · 12/03/2009 22:27

LOL! You can have some of mine then!!

Lizzzombie · 12/03/2009 23:19

I don't have baby fat.

Lizzzombie · 12/03/2009 23:21

I have toddler fat

Was reading Cosmo yesterday (stupid xmas present from my sister apparently she thinks I am 17) anyway...Cosmo says - if your waist measures 80cm+ you are obese. Needless to say, mine measures over that. Way over that. Stupid magazine.

Dragonhart · 13/03/2009 09:47

Does that mean I have baby, toddler and child fat?! That is alot of fat. No wonder my waist is more than 80cm!

vinorouge · 13/03/2009 11:30

dragon we strapped sylvie into her bouncer chair when we were trying to get her to take a bottle. Have you tried the tommee tippee one? I'll post you one to try with if you like.

I have the day off work today. Tesco delivered shopping and all put away. Took girls to nursery then went for a run. Got to dey hair now and then am off bra shopping. I have no boobs now and am wearing 3 odd bras, all different sizes and none white which has been proving very inpractical.

PILS coming again this weekend to work on teh garden. I'm taking e&s to a friends for lunch on sunday who I haven't seen since aug so that will be nice. We'll collect a toy phone that ellen left there over a year ago!

Raisin - glad you are happy with teh way things are working out as a mother of 2.

LAL - wow, you've put a lot of work into your house. Looks very modern.

Lizz - time to burn cosmo???

eandh · 13/03/2009 16:30

afternoon - hope everyone is okay.

Not alot going on I am at work and dh home with the girls, they have been in the garden most of the day (according to Ellie on the phone) and Daddy was cooking chicken fingers, boiled brains and bullets for dinner apparently (I left chicken gougons, peeled potatos to make mash and peas/sweetocrn out this morning)

Oh and although Hattie has been making an effort with the toilet thing for a while she decided this week that she will not wear a nappy and is completley dry in the day and poodles off on her own to do her business (only problem is 18-24month knicker skeep falling down on her and all her trousers are mmiles to big again so back in 12-18 month ones) she won't even have a nappy on at bedtime so we have to wait till shes asleep then do it, although the last 2 mornings that has been dry as well (Ellie was dry in the day at this age but took till she was 3.8 to get dry at night )

Vino - hope you get good weather for the garden projects this weekend

DH - no advice on Rachel I'm afraid

Lizz- I am not even going to go near my waist with a tape measure (although am still eating sensibly )

Right better finish last bits of work off bye....

laughalot · 13/03/2009 16:58

at hattie

eandh · 14/03/2009 18:42

quiet on here

Not much going on I'm just going to Eddas for a girly night in with a takeaway, Chris is home with Hattie and Ellie invited herself to stay at my mum and dads so shes there. Very proud of her today as got her a bigger bike on ebay and collected it and she managed to ride it with stabilisers

Dragonhart · 15/03/2009 07:27

Thanks Vino, my dsis gave me one of those to try and no joy. If I strap her into the bouncy chair she just screams but might give it another go. Hope you have a nice lunch.

EAH- Well done H! I am hoping that is how it will be with me after the nightmare we had with Luke. And well done E for riding her bike. Luke wont do the peddles of his trike and if we try to show him he gets cross and says 'I will do it when I am a big boy!'. Hope you had a good night out.

Not much going on here. Had my dad up yesterday and had him running around a soft play place with Luke and Ruth which was hillarious! Good work out for him.

eandh · 15/03/2009 12:18

duh just read my post and it was meant to say without her stabilisers

Lizzzombie · 16/03/2009 08:48

Bleurgh!
I had a nightmare of a weekend.
Went to DP's parents on Friday. DJ was fine. Slept in big boy bed all good.
Then, first thing Saturday woke up, had his breakfast and puked. Then had a sky high temp all weekend, and could just about keep water down. Anything else came back up again. He has been guzzling nurofen and calpol since then & still has a slight temperature. He is very pale. He's just eaten a rich tea biscuit. I'm waiting to see if it comes back up again (nice) & we have drs at 10.30am. 4 hours drive home yesterday with an ill toddler not nice though.
We have now taken the side off his cot bed, have no idea where to put it as it won't fit into the loft.
Went to the best car boot sale in the world (Kessingland, next to Africa Alive in case you are ever down there) DP's Dad got 2 bags worth of emergency service vehicles for DJ. So, even though he was ever so ill, he was lying on the floor making "nee nah" noises and in fire engine/ambulance/police car heaven!

Forgot to say, the other reason his cot sides came off where because on Thursday night, when DP was away. DJ climbed out of his cot when I was asleep and pitter pattered into my room, got into bed with me and fell asleep instantly. It was very cute. But rather annoying as I've spent the last 2 weeks CC'ing him into sleeping in his cot. I give up!

Hope you are all well.
I had the oddest dream that Jodie posted up on here. I have no idea why I thought of that last night. Weird.

Wilkie - How did your bodyshop party go?

Wilkiepedia · 16/03/2009 10:16

Lizz - nightmare. Sounds like the bug J had. Great news re big boys bed! Might be worth getting a stairgate to pop across his door at night to stop him coming into your room. We've done this but TBH, once J is in bed he stays put - admittedly he sings/shouts/bangs etc for about an hour before nodding off - but seems to think he can't get out. Mwah mwah mwah lets see how long that lasts

Went in last night to find him in bed with a tub of vaseline (?) in his hand I had left on the windowsill (he can reach - that could have been V messy.

Bodyshop party went great, Vino and Kate arrive late after getting lost (can I just point out Vino has been to my house probably 5 times now....I'm saying nothing about her directional skills) but it went well and I got £25 to spend on products. RGee is very neat, we reckon my bump is bigger out front as she has more space cos she is taller! Anyway, DH played host and provided drinks and food bless him before scuttling off to the relative safety of our room away from the gaggle of women

I have had yet another wash out of a weekend - started with a migraine at 4pm Friday which has just about subsided today. We rang PIL at 6.30am Sat morning to come and pick up J so they had him till lunchtime yesterday. MW coming today to check my BP etc so am off work - feel ok but not 100% - it hurts to move my eyes.

Sorry - that was a really self absorbed post. Hope everyone else is OK.

DH - any luck with different bottles?

UD - how is the little bundle of cuteness? (and I don't mean your DH)

EAH - great news re H and the toilet. J has had 'pants on' time for the past two nights after saying he wants to wee wee on the potty. We have had no accidents and three wees and one big poo on the potty unprompted so we will watch this space. Would rather wait until after baby comes but if he wants to do it I can't really stop him.

eandh · 16/03/2009 11:12

Lizz - sound slike what the girls had the other week so huge sympathies, mine were both much better after 48hours and eating normally

Wilkie - ouch that sounds painful, glad MW coming to check you over, best to be on safe side (and lol at your and rgee's theory about bumps ) I was nosing at your FB pics am loving the fringe

Am at work today and they have replaced all our telephones with the ones that have headsets so trying to get used to them and have already gone to walk away from my desk forgetting the phone is attached to me also slightly sceptical about my work today as am getting quotes for my area managers husband new car insurance and also booking his private operation to remove a hernia oh well I suppose its keeping me busy

Lizzzombie · 16/03/2009 12:23

Wilks - Glad party went well. £25 to spend on products must have been nice.
Eah - I hated having to do personal jobs like that when I was a PA, it made me want to do it wrong. [evil]

Well, DJ has an ear infection. So he is on anti biotics for 5 days (I am so sure the bottle they gave me won't last that long ) Nursery said when he feels ok in himself they are happy to administer ABs, but as he is slepy/grouchy/pale & not really eating I'll keep him off tomorrow and probably Wednesday. The bum of it is, that if I don't work = I don't get paid. (is this normal btw????) So if I don't work 2 shifts this week, I loose about £50. Ouch.

DJ is asleep in his cot atm, with sides off I am loving that J thinks he can't get out of bed still with the sides off. I really don't want any more stair gates in our house. The bruises on my thighs from banging into them constantly are spectacular!

Forgot to say, DJ did a poo in the potty on Thursday night!! Unfortunately the shock of it made him to burst into tears. Hopefully me heaping on the praise of how big and clever he was did the trick though.

Laters....off to try and tidy up my bomb site of a house! x

raisingrrrl · 16/03/2009 12:26

Just a quick post from me, to put this thread back on my list - hope you're all well, will pop back on later. xxx

vinorouge · 16/03/2009 21:09

I got lost driving to wilkies because I was too busy talking to rgee!!!!! Then I hate being late so I was stressed. It was worth it though, looking forward to getting my new lipgloss.

DH and I having heated discussion about our garden. What he and PIL have produced (but not finished) is not what I envisaged. I am annoyed, and trying unsuccessfully to be nice about it. Also we have been invited to an engagement party in London in a couple of weeks. I think its a waste of money us both going, but am happy for him to go cos I'd want to go if it was my friend. HE is so crap at arranging things though and I know he'll prob end up spending as much on his own as we would have together. AAAAGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH

Lizz - we use a travel stairgate at e's door at night. She gets into bed and says 'no gate no gate' but she keeps trying to get out of her room so its staying!

E&H - good news about ellie and stabilisers

Been off today instead of thurs. Had a friend over this morning and for lunch, then a lady who works ay nursery but is off this week, took ellen for a walk this afternoon so I managed to clean and tidy. Perfect.

Reggiee · 17/03/2009 10:41

Hi all.
Am enjoying day 2 of proper mat leave. Am once again lusting after Phillip Schofield at the moment .
Off to a posh pampering spa this evening courtesy of dh. Am really looking forward to it.
Not much else to report. I pulled out all of P's clothes yesterday and can't believe how tiny the newborn clothes are. They've been washed and are drying on the line as we speak. Am loving the weather at the mo too!
Got to do the on line shop now so back later.
