eandz would you like to reintroduce bf?

DebiTheScot · 31/01/2009 21:34

changed my mind. Don't like my new phone. It won't talk to the computer. I've been sat here for an hour trying to make it work but it keeps saying there's no phone connected when there clearly is. No idea how to make it work. The usb driver and the lg software are installed so why won't it work??????

Meglet · 31/01/2009 21:57

oh i'm bored. I'm determined to express a whole bottle, 5floz-ish, for DD's breakfast and so far i've been hooked up to the breast pump for 45 mins. Nearly done now, thank goodness. I want a glass of wine when it's done .

I just had a look at the MN facebook group, i did't realise there were so many of us! i'm looking forward to the basingstoke meet up this week . i'll probabl be last to arrive even though it's only 5 mins away.

i would LOVE to breast feed again...as long as it's consistent and won't just stop randomly again. i've been hand expressing teeny tiny amounts for the last few hours. but not sure where it's coming from.

digitalgirl · 31/01/2009 22:21

So my night out with DH and friends last night was a success! Mum did A's bath and bedtime feed. Then she'd already defrosted the EBM for his 11pm feed by the time we got home so DH gave him that and I sat and expressed enough to replace all the EBM that had been used. Was so pleased I had enough milk to do that. Oh, and we had a good time, walked round the exhibition, had some nibbles and a cocktail, went to the pub, went back to friends house for cake then home. All in all, very good to feel that we haven't completely abandoned our social lives.

our punishment is that A's snotty nose has graduated to a chesty cough. feel like a neglectful mother who doesn't wrap her baby up properly.

eandz does this mean you'll be pregnant again soon?

eandz · 31/01/2009 23:13

i've got 1.5 oz out, i'll see if i can get anything else out tonight. if i still have some tomorrow i'll get noah back to sucking for 10 minutes every other hour and bring out the old breast pump.

digitalgirl
now that would be telling, wouldn't it? :p

digitalgirl · 31/01/2009 23:20

nudge nudge

eandz · 31/01/2009 23:25

haha, no seriously-- i'm getting a new pill on the 6th. i hope not to be making any pregnancy announcements for at least a year.

MelT76 · 01/02/2009 08:24

Morning all.

So, this morning I have cleaned the downstairs of the house! Sat down with a nice cuppa and can here C upstairs kicking hell out of the travel cot (is now way too long for his moses basket) and gurgling. Go up, DP fast asleep so bring C down for his feed.

Now of to get ready for photo session viewing. The only problem being I might need a second mortgage to be able to buy any. Cheapest is £95 ( thats with 10% viewing day discount) and its only a 7 x 5!!!!

Hopefully · 01/02/2009 09:46

£95! That's horrendous! So glad that my sis is a brilliant photographer.

Eandz if you think you will be able to stay chilled about BF (i.e. not feel guilty if for some reason it isn't a resounding success, can't imagine why it wouldn't be though), why not just give it a couple of goes, and have a couple of goes at expressing over the next few days?
So glad things are improving with Noah though.

I want to go and spend my tax rebate! Not that I've even been given it yet, but we're normally so careful with money, it'll be nice to have a bit of money to frip away on clothes or something.

Also looking forward to meeting on Tue! Be nice to see more of you in RL.

yeah, i'm expressing a little and i've gotten Noah to suck for a bit. (he remembers!).

SunflowerNeedsSunshine · 01/02/2009 12:13

eandz glad things are improving, and fingers crossed for bf!!! the most relaxed feeds we have atm, where M's not distracted or pulling on my nipple, or racing to finish asap, are in bed or in the bath, she takes her time (and it's so funny when she falls asleep at the breast with her bum floating )

Meglet · 01/02/2009 14:01

mel did you go to Venture? They are fab but so expensive. My dad got photos of me and my sister and nearly had a heart attack when he saw the prices . I'm going to mothercare for the DC's pics.

DD is turning into a little bruiser. She was squealing and trying to wrestle her big brother during bedtime stories last night, he was giving me looks as if to say "mummy help! I'm being attacked by a baby!", I had to make her let go of his sleep suit, and this morning she was bashing her baby toys about, she is much more developed than DS ever was.

DebiTheScot · 01/02/2009 15:32

i was planning to ask you all if you had any recommendations for a good photographer. We've been given some money from dh's grandfather and thought it might be nice to spend some of it on photos. I'd like to go somewhere where we'll get lots taken, some of just the boys and some of the 4 of us, the trendy lying about the floor playing type ones, not old fashioned posed ones. Then be able to buy a few different ones for us- maybe to have 4 or 5 in one frame- and then some for grandparents.

Are you going to Mothercare in Basingstoke meglet? I picked up a leaflet for them the other day, it's Pixifoto who do them. Does anyone know what they're like? For £10 for the the sitting they're giving you a free 12x10 photo but its the 1st photo taken that you get free.

lollyheart · 01/02/2009 17:37

Debi I had some photos done at pixiphoto, i thought they were good, we spent £200 we got quite alot for our money. I will bring the sheet with the photos on it on tuesday so you can have a look.
Although its the first photo that is free they will delete it if your not happy with it and they will keep doing that untill you are happy with the 1st photo on the camera iykwim?

Well fraser slept better last night, only woke at 4.30 then 7 but i still feel like pooh today.

DebiTheScot · 01/02/2009 17:40

that'd be good, cheers lolly

Hopefully · 01/02/2009 17:54

Anyone going to B'stoke meetup, do you know if there's a TK Maxx with a kids' section in basingstoke? T could do with some clothes, and I thought I'd see if they have any nice presents for PG friend.

eandz · 01/02/2009 18:31

if anyone wants pictures taken in london, i'll do them for free. i'm trying to get a portfolio together to keep me from going insane. before i head back to finish my latest degree.

i'm not a professional, but i've taken lots of classes and i have a professional grade digital slr. you would just have to get them printed somewhere on your own, like snapfish.

lollyheart · 01/02/2009 18:34

hopefully There is a tk max in Basingstoke.

starlight
you don't look hefty in your profile picture on fb (of the small thumbnail picture i saw)..but i can definitely take pictures of you in the same angles i take pictures of myself so i look thinner.

Ponymum · 01/02/2009 18:57

In York / north of England I know of some good photographers - a business run by two groovy women. They have a special line providing photo sessions for kids groups / NCT groups. Their main business is fabulous, totally modern school photography. See here.
