Thanks for the Happy Birthdays and welcome back Chuffed. I take it this is now the new thread? Ds' party went swimmingly although I didn't see much of him and wasn't evn holding him when he saw his cake - he tried to bash the candle with his hand and i think caught it a bit as he screamed but there was no mark. The house is now full of birthday toys!!

I am thinking of getting some children's caterers in to do ds' party food and clear up afterwards. Am aware that this sounds 'frightfully posh' , but actually motivation is that I want to avoid getting sucked into running around like headless chicken all day - I'd rather relax and enjoy ds' day with him

I remember when ds was one, dh and I sat outside with a bottle of cava (he was an August baby) and reminisced about the birth etc. Expect we shall be doing something similar this time round.

hmc - I think that is a very good idea as I have to admit I did get fed up of making endless cips of tea and passing sandwiches round whilst dh did all the fun stuff like opening pressies - typical

Having a party of little ones on his actual birthday (Friday 15th) and a family gathering on the Saturday.

We were going to have a family party around dd's birthday but have decided to have a do in the summer now - in lieu of a christening.

Thanks LJ for the mention - ds was 1 on the 6th March.
He's such a little cutie just now - sleeping till between 6 and 7am, eating up all his lunch and dinner and having a nice long 2 hour nap after lunch. Long may it continue!

lou33 agree Chad Michael Murray is a babe - Tracy there is a TV program called One Tree Hill which he is in and he is a well known Calvin Klein model before this.

Geez now I'm showing my 'trying to be younger' nature. dh and I love the OC, One Tree Hill, Joey etc.

Ds said his first word yesterday! Hello! Well it was more like hu-wwo but well cute although dp dpesn't believe me (even though he said it to MIL 3 times!)

He also started pulling himself up on the sofa today (its quite high so he hasn't managed it before) and if I tempt him with a tv remote or mobile phone he cruises along it. So proud

hi all - am back from long holiday in spain. sunny beach weather nearly every day.

happy birthday to all the early april babies. those reminiscences of a year ago remind me how very grumpy I was through most of last april being overdue.

though am a bit nervous of accident stories .

proud mummy moments - dd3 has really grown up in spain - now she can cruise, climb stairs at a very fast rate, and has about 7 words including one Spanish one - Hola! (2 of her English ones are hiya and hello, she likes to greet people...)

When is one tree hill on? I can add it to my 'keep yourself younger by watching babes on TV'. Currently The OC - boy are those girls skinny or what!
