Ooh its gone a bit quiet on here! Well ds has had the dreaded MMR. He scremed when the needle went in but was okay quite quickly afterwards. But he keeps crying out in his cot at the moment which is very unusual for him. But he's teething too so we've given him some calpol. It's nice to know no more vaccines until he's 4 Went to Mothers and Toddlers again which was less daunting this time as there were less people there.

There is now an April 2005 babies thread - scary!! I guess we should be a toddler thread lol Glad things are okay YG - fingers crossed for you

TracyK · 27/04/2005 10:16

me too YG - hope all is ok.
What is the consensus for this summer? How many glasses of wine do you think we should be allowed to have in the sun in the garden? I presume we have to stay reasonably sober to look after the babes??

Chuffed · 27/04/2005 10:39

Having had a summer with a semi toddler at Christmas in NZ we had many many wines but you just have to make sure there is an eye from somebody on the little one. (iykwim)
We have a photo of dd sitting under a table on a friends deck trying to put an empty wine bottle up to her mouth (hide for cover icon)

LucyJones · 27/04/2005 13:29

Tracy -I'm lucky as dh is tee total so I can have as much wine as I like whilst he watches ds

TracyK · 27/04/2005 13:44

send him round!
I had a glass of wine with my lunch on Sunday in the garden and felt tipsy just after 1!

lunavix · 28/04/2005 15:37

Hey everyone!

I've finally started childminding, I have a little girl two mornings a week! It's keeping me busy, she's two weeks older than ds, and neither are walking or talking. Like having twins I guess

Ds stood on his own for 2 seconds today, he grabbed a phone off the sofa, and then just stood holding it, took a step back, realised and sat down with a bump! Balance still no good though and still NO words grr
He's been starting to try building a tower with blocks today (me teaching him!) but when he goes to put a block on top the other, his hand moves the bottom one so they both just fall. Bless!

lunavix · 28/04/2005 15:38

Ooh out of curiosity I started a thread sharing ideas of entertaining our lo's, after realising that we all play very different games and toys! Thought it'd be nice even if we all just picked up one new idea from it.

here

Fennel · 28/04/2005 20:25

congratulations on the new childmindee lunavix!
are you managing not to favour your own baby? I suspect I would - cos dd3 is so very much sweeter than most others her age .

wine in garden in sunshine - sounds good. I have never actually considered how much is too much - if you're able to stand or sit, it can't be too much?

dd3 had no bf today. not sure whether to be (cos I wanted to stop) or cos she didn't really want to stop yet. but reading that "help how do I stop my 15 monther bf?" spurred me on to stopping before it got harder.

hewlettsdaughter · 28/04/2005 22:27

am off to read that thread...

handlemecarefully · 28/04/2005 22:54

Good luck with the childminding. Nice for ds to have the stimulation of another baby around his age to interact with...

KristinaM · 29/04/2005 10:58

OOOOH fennel you are turning into a long term breast feeder. Next thing DD3 will be at school and you will have to go up at lunchtime to nurse her

TracyK · 29/04/2005 11:03

Have posted my games on your thread LX.

Chuffed · 29/04/2005 11:04

oh and happy birthday to Lowryn/spagblog's DS today.
Just been reading that thread on weaning and am sort of happy that I didn't have to worry about it.

Fennel · 29/04/2005 12:33

happy birthday spagblog's ds - but where is spagblog she hasn't posted for a while?

KristinaM - it's true I got all tearful and guilty about giving up last night. I nearly gave in and started again after a day's stopping. what's got into me? I blame Mumsnet, I didn't have any problems stopping at 9 or 10 months with the others, and now I am feeling guilty about stopping at a year....

REMINDER to self I do not want to be feeding a walking talking toddler i don't i don't.....

MrsDoolittle · 29/04/2005 12:38

It's funny you know - I couldn't imagine bf dd now. She wouldn't know what to do now either. Whenever she is in bed with us in the morning, dd thinks its a very funny game trying to squeeze my nipples. If she catches me unawares and I cry out she's in gales of laughter!

Fennel · 29/04/2005 12:42

dp says I favour dd3 massively, eg with more bf for longer and being totally soft on her. really I think I am rather sad she's not going to be a baby any more. Last Baby Syndrome strikes again...

Chuffed · 29/04/2005 13:39

That's totally it though Fennel isn't it last baby syndrome. I've had a few awful thoughts about it, what if I can't have another, what if this was the last time I.... it is awful.
You only favour dd3 coz she's your youngest and everybody knows the youngest is always favoured (coming from the eldest...)

hewlettsdaughter · 29/04/2005 20:02

Happy birthday spagblog jr!
Kristina - how are you feeling now?

handlemecarefully · 29/04/2005 22:08

I think I favour my youngest a little too [attack of the guilts emoticon]

Happy birthday to spagblog junior...

MrsDoolittle · 30/04/2005 13:09

LucyJones! You calling coddy a stirrer?

MrsDoolittle · 30/04/2005 13:09

Oh and dh is homebrewing downstairs Heck!! Cider for the b-b-q season, he says

LucyJones · 30/04/2005 13:10

Hi MrsDoolittle! I know it's very unlike me to wander about on other threads I didn't call her one, I said that is how she comes across on that particular thread.

LucyJones · 30/04/2005 13:11

cider and a bbq? sounds like my ideal Saturday!!!!
