Evening all

Oooggs hope it happens soon for you. Making me dread late April/early May - hated that "just hurry up and arrive" feeling.

Had a so-so day. G was a nightmare in Asda this morning, but we had fun at playgroup this pm. Going into Manchester for lunch with work friends tomorrow. G is coming too so hope he's on good form. He's a scabby little thing at the mo from his chickenpox, but is mostly back to normal.

Purely from a naming perspective I kind of hope we have a girl. Fred/Freddie is growing on me, think I'll love it by May.

Runny - Edward is G's middle name. DH and I have both said we shouldn't have used it as we both really like it as a first name.

elkiedee · 15/01/2009 00:05

RH, glad your boss argued for you, but I don't understand what your MD has against part time workers.

Bramshott · 15/01/2009 09:52

Thanks for all your good wishes for N's birthday. She was very over-excited which led to a fairly stressful couple of hours after school! Still then she slept like a log and had to be dug out of bed this morning. Party on Sat - argghhh!!

Thanks to everyone who empathised with the "argh the kids are growing up too quickly" sentiments! It goes so fast doesn't it . . . NL - I am like you, constantly doing calculations as to how old they will be (and of course I will be) when a certain thing happens etc! 6 seems so grown up to me, but I'm sure I'll blink and she'll be into double figures!

Sending baby-hurrying vibes in Oooggs direction. Is this the longest you've ever been pregnant?!? (although I'm sure it felt like twice as long with E & J)

Glad you have a supportive boss Runny, although at the MD.

CaptainDippy · 15/01/2009 15:46

for oooggs. xx

Belated birthday Wishes for N for yesterday. xx

Sooo pleased your boss fought your corner RH - Grrrr and to MD!!

Having a day here, DH and not good

WaspElly · 15/01/2009 16:02

Just v randomly popped back to say hi - all been a bit hectic here as we moved to Newton Ferrers in Devon in the summer and haven't actually got internet (shock horror) at all. Might get it as a Christmas pressie from my folks...

Love to all in Soton & environs

Started to feel like we're settling in here although it was a bit tough knowing nobody at all going sailing has helped me tremendously, although still don't really have a social scene bar that, not a call in for coffee and abandon kids to destroy someone elses house for a change kind of friends yet - although I can see it not being much longer.
Best of luck to all those daft enough to do it all over again (kinda see the point although the agreeement between DH and i was definately 2 and stop)
So, best wishes to those producing and may all productions be as prompt as both my 2 although I hope you get more pain relief in!(pass the love on!)

CaptainDippy · 15/01/2009 16:25

Oooooh, lovely to "see" you WE - thank you for popping by!

cazboldy · 15/01/2009 19:44

Has been busy here this evening......

Harry and Caitlin both had a friend round. Caitlin's friend's parents had to go o a funeral about 2 hours away.....so I agreed to have her after school, the problem was that she was sick at school, and Mum (understandably) had her mobile switched off, so I picked her up....... I dont have mums mobile (despite her saying she would text it to me ) so poor litle girl was here for hours (left about 10 mins ago) with a rowdy rabble of 6 other kids!

and what's the betting we all get it now!........

I am a bit jealous of you pg ladies...... you are soon going to be holding your perfect brand new gorgeous babies

Doobydoo · 15/01/2009 20:15

Glad boss fought your corner RH.!
hAPPY bELATED BDAY nn[SMILE]
My gdad died yesterday...seems to have happened fast and v.little or no pain for which we are all greatful for.
He was a stretcher bearer in the 2nd world war and had 2 sons.and was very active and worked part time up until a year ago[he was 85!]
Get those babies out now!

Doobydoo · 15/01/2009 20:16

Sorry you having bad day Dippy.
Hope you don't get it Caz!!

cazboldy · 15/01/2009 20:20

so do I Dooby....

very sorry about your gdad

any further thoughts on moving???

Doobydoo · 15/01/2009 20:25

Hi Caz
We are still thinking.
One option is I could do back to nursing course in Ipswich which is 15 weeks and organised.Dp is thinking about teaching, which could be 1 year at Cambridge[Physics]or 2 years somewhere in North of uk [lancaster, keele]for I.T.It is tricky. One or 2 options in Ireland but might be difficult as Ireland in utter freefall and panic and really does not have the ability/infrastructure to build itself up.
There are good things here too though. So still thinking!!

oooggs · 15/01/2009 20:26

WaspElly - very close to me Newton Ferrers

still no baby

Bramshott - tomorrow night (38 weeks) is the longest I have ever been pregnant!

caz - hope you all stay healthy

dooby - sorry about your grandad

leaky - couldn't you still use Edward as a first name (says her who wants to use Grace which is Erins middle name!!)

Runny - glad your job is ok

Dippy - hope you and dh are ok

Sexonlegs · 15/01/2009 20:41

Evening ladies

WE, lovely to see you, and quite of you being in Devon. Hope you are well and get settled soon.

Oooggs, so no more twinges?

Dippy, sorry you and dh aren't good

Dooby, so sorry about your Grandad xx

Leaky, hope you had a good lunch out.

Erm, brain dead now.

Had a shit day. Have been told that I need to reduce my hours at work to 1 day a week (currently do 3) or take redundancy - which will be statutory only and pants.
I went and spoke to the Deputy Director and she is livid! We do need to cut costs, but I have to say, cutting out me, as Personnel Manager (and the only personnel person in the company) is madness.
Anyway, we shall see. I have an application form for another job at a school, so will see what comes of that.

Hope everyone is ok. xx

oooggs · 15/01/2009 20:59

bloody hell sol - hope something positive comes out of this

feel like baby is going to fall out, so low and heavy and that if I wanted too I could touch his head - sorry if tmi

CallMeHunAtYourPeril · 15/01/2009 22:31

That's not good SOL, but at least as an HR peep you have the knowledge to fight your corner. It does annoy me that the part-timers are usually first to go. And it is complete madness to consider losing the only HR member of staff

Leaky - I know a Freddie, same age as me, now goes by Fred and is quite the ladies man, they flock around him

OP posts:
elkiedee · 15/01/2009 22:33

Dooby, sorry to hear about your grandad.

SOL, sorry to hear about your mum.

I have a day with D tomorrow. I was planning to take him out for part of at least one day next week, maybe more particularly if I'm still waiting for baby past my due date, but CM needs to get her first aid course done and the Council rang her up yesterday. Friday's the day there's very few groups on - any other day I would have had a toddler or activity group, two, we could go to.

My dad's going to come and help take him to the playground mid-afternoon - park cafe should still be open about 3 pm if it's horrible weather - and then we'll probably go to mooch around Wood Green and meet dp there again.

cazboldy · 16/01/2009 12:53

first on - and it's afternoon!

Hello!

Hope you have a nice time Elkie

Pants about your job SOL

CaptainDippy · 16/01/2009 13:33

P just woken up ..... only be quick ....

hope it all turns out for the best.

Hope baby comes soon!!

Sorry about your GDad Dooby, but glad it was quick and relatively pain-free - he sounds like an amazing man

Best go get stroppy .....

oooggs · 16/01/2009 13:43

still waiting - 38 weeks today - >>

Bramshott · 16/01/2009 13:45

Oh bugger SOL - that sounds crap for you, and very short-sighted of your company. Hope you can get it sorted out.

Great to see you WaspElly. Hope little T is doing well.

Blimey Oooggs - let's hope he's here before tomorrow night then! 38 + 2 is the farthest I've ever gone so you'll beat me soon. Met up with a friend this morning whose due date is next Wed - soooo exciting!

cazboldy · 16/01/2009 14:05

my cousin's wife is due their 4th next thursday

The furthest i'v gone is 40+6

the quickest 37+2

2 40 + 1 (although Charlie was a 3am)

and Molly 40wks exactly

leakyR · 16/01/2009 14:10

Hi

SOL- crappy about your job. Fingers crossed the school job is better for you.

Dooby- sorry about your grandad.

Oooggs - sending you labour vibes.

Elkie - hope it's not a grey in London as it is here and you can have a good day with D.

Had a nice lunch yesterday. Wagagmama - my favourite. I left striaght after as I was starting to feel a bit fluey. Had a kind of itchy throat in Rome but I filled up with snot yesterday afternoon and felt genuinely terrible last night. Dh took G to nursery this morning and I slept until 1030 feeling slightly better now, but my voice is shot!

Northernlurker · 16/01/2009 16:29

Dooby - sorry to read your news

SOL - how stupid and crap of them. Hope it turns out be a blessing in disguise. Soetimes though it's a very good disguise isn't it?

Oooggs - 38 weeks is the furthest you've got eh? Not the same satory here - dd1 42 weeks +1 (ok 1 hour and 13 minutes into the +1 day but still) dd2 41 weeks and dd3 41 +1 (3 hours and 40 minutes into the +1 in her case!)

StealthPo09IsHere · 16/01/2009 16:41

Dooby so sorry to hear about your grandad, glad there was no pain.
SOL - when are you likely to hear about the school job? Any chance you'd consider baby no 3 fairly quickly? Seriously, that seems such a stupid decision on their part, I really hope this works out for the best.

StealthPo09IsHere · 16/01/2009 17:30

Just been summoned into the lounge to pass DS his biscuit (he is busy watching Cbeebies) Wonder what his last slave died of
