I do 40 + 4 rather well - DD1 and DD3 were both that gestation. DD2 was 34 + 5

StealthPo09IsHere · 16/01/2009 19:48

I was 40+4 as well

leakyR · 16/01/2009 20:43

I was 40+3 with DS1.

Hope that this one comes on time or a bit early(anytime after 38 weeks). We're going to a wedding in Ireland scarcely 4 weeks after my due date. The longer I have to feel human again the better.

CaptainDippy · 16/01/2009 21:22

My SIL got married when P was, oooooh, about 3 weeks old!! It was ok, I managed to fit into some half-decent clothes and P slept through most of the day. I stockpiled expressed milk as my dress wasn't very condusive to BFing; unfortunately, I forgot that I usually produce enough milk to feed the entire baby population of Sussex and leaked spectacularly through my dress about half-way through the day Also watching DD1 putting my EBM in people's coffee's at reception was also a definite highlight of the day!! (I have photographic evidence )

So there you go ... it'll be fine Leaky ...as long you don't forget your nickname!!

elkiedee · 16/01/2009 21:40

It was quite grey here as well but D had a surprise morning nap, lots of play, mischief and really stinky nappies and a walk to and in the park, then we went to Wood Green but I couldn't really be bothered to look round at things. Still, think he had an ok day and we both survived it!

SPB, glad I'm not the only one with a bossy child.

MJreturns · 16/01/2009 21:56

Glad you had a good time Elkie

SOL, at your news of redundancy. It just seems as if no-one is safe just now, really scary. Hope you sort things out for the better xxx

Hun, how are you feeling now? Hope things are more normal again now!

Dooby, sorry to hear about your grandad, sounds like he had an amazing and really fulfilled life xxx

Oooggs, sending lots of labour vibes your way, come on baby

I have to say that I do feel a bit envious of some of you getting that wonderful newborn moment again, a fabulous feeling, but I don't think I will be going there again!

MJreturns · 16/01/2009 21:58

Oops, CD I almost forgot. Hope you are ok this evening. I remember you having problems between you and dh when I was around a while back and I really hoped that things had settled down for you. Hope you are doing ok xxx

MJreturns · 16/01/2009 22:00

Runny, yes to meeting up after school. Do you fancy bringing the boys round for tea one afternoon?

MJreturns · 16/01/2009 22:01

Ever get the feeling that I didn't take notes?!

oooggs · 16/01/2009 22:30

40+++++++++++ you lot are scaring me >>>>>

Northernlurker · 17/01/2009 00:20

It's alright Oooggs - you've got a month before you match me I can't believe how long I've had to endure pregnancy!!! Can anybody beat my 42+1?

StealthPo09IsHere · 17/01/2009 08:22

Morning everyone
Well, we're telling our parents today and then going to see mum and dad. We've all been feeling a bit ill recently but it seems to be over, I think.

Eddas · 17/01/2009 08:34

oooggs, i don't think you want me to tll you my dates

dd 42 (but only just as she was born at around 1am)
ds 41+4

I do like to cook 'em

sorry i've not been around much, been very busy this week with dd starting school. Not that that has caused much of an issue but I also worked thurs and fri and i've picked up some more self employed work so i've been manic with that too. One good thing was that the pre-school was doing a quiz night and me being stooooopid volunteered to write the quiz but no-one could be arsed to attend so it's been cancelled, so I no longer have that to write good job i'm not particularly quick off the mark and hadn't done the q's already. I'd be mightily hacked off.

Anyhoo, best be off. back later x

Northernlurker · 17/01/2009 12:08

Aha Eddas - you favour the well-done baby I see - like myself

elkiedee · 17/01/2009 13:00

I believe I was born at 42+4 - and then I was induced.

Northernlurker · 17/01/2009 13:09

Elkiedee's mum wins the prize for 42+4 (poor woman!)

Northernlurker · 17/01/2009 13:13

Oh and does the phrase 'being induced' produce images for anybody else of mum flat on her back with the midwife peering up there and saying 'now come on, be a good baby and you can have this nice Boden babygro...'

Or

mum leaning on a bed groaning whilst the consultant says 'now come on Mrs X - just deliver and then you can have this lovely pair of Jimmy Choos...'

No? Just me then...

runnyhabbit · 17/01/2009 15:56

afternoon all

All this talk of due dates is making me feel a tad broody Although I'm really enjoying J and W. They play well togerther, and J is turning into a proper little boy. He had a pupil of the week award this week, for being a good boy going to school, and being friends with everyone[proud mummy emoticon ]
With J, I went 41+4, and W was 40+1 9(although only 6hrs into the +1)

SOL - pants about your job. But (hope you don't think I'm being too nosey) would your redundancy package maybe mean you could do something completely different? I only ask because one of the guys that was made redundant from my work is going back to college to complete a course that he was going to do part-time. His wife is a head of dept, so the bills will be paid, and he'll be able to spend more time with his son. He said that after the shock of being made redundant, he feels like work have done him a favour, iyswim

sorry, rambled a bit there

Northernlurker · 17/01/2009 16:00

Runny shall I add you to my list? What with dh being brody and now you too.....could we be looking at another sibling before Christmas??

StealthPo09IsHere · 17/01/2009 17:30

hi everyone
well it#'s the house of sick here, DS has nappies I'd rather not talk about and DH feels sick.
On a better note, parents were thrilled

Sexonlegs · 17/01/2009 18:39

Evening all.

to illness SOB, but re your parents being pleased.

NL, ikwym re the word induced! A bit like enticed I guess.

Eddas, you sound like a busy woman indeed. Glad dd is still enjoying school.

Runny, bless J on his pupil of the week status

Oooggs, anything happening? Hot curry tonight? I found washing the kitchen floor started me off with B

Dippy, hope you are ok with you and dh.

MJ, hope you are doing ok.

Caz, hoping the sick bug didn't go round!!

Erm...

Brain drained.

Thanks for your messages re the job front. I have had time to think things over, and am really quite p**ed off. Unfortunately, the redundancy money will be rubbish - 3 weeks stat red pay, so will probably opt for taking the 6 hours a week whilst looking for something else. Dh and I are going to look at finances tonight and see what we can do. He currently doesn't work a Monday to look after K, and will look at going back to 5 days. The trouble is, I don't want to give notice at the nursery and lose the space, only to get another job and then be buggered with childcare. Also, no offence to those who do it, but I just cannot be a SAHM.

Anyway, rant over. Something will turn up.

Bath time to do, so back later on. xx

StealthPo09IsHere · 17/01/2009 19:02

oh sol Hope you manage to get something sorted

Northernlurker · 17/01/2009 19:10

Sol - that job thing is so crap of them! I think you should talk to nursery asap and see if they will sort of hold her space - will you still be using one day? If so I would tell them that you will increase to two or three as soon as you can and would they let you know if they have interested parents that might mean that's not possible. Now they are growing up a bit nursery places aren't so tricky because they will all be out of the baby rooms fairly soon. B is still in ours mostly but she spends quite a lot of time in the toddler room too! I hope you get one well with the school job - how many days was that?

SPB - sorry about the sick - but at least your news has gone over well. How are you feeling?

Had a very lazy day here, doing some washing and made rocky road with dd2 but that's about it!
Work is still going well for me. The unit is 10 years old this year so I'm planning a huge party for staff and patients - it's rather fun

oooggs · 17/01/2009 19:37

sol - I am with you there, I don't think I could be a SAHM (until they are all in full time school )

and I am just about to wash the kitchen floor and I read your post - hope I am as lucky

all this talk of 40+ isn't helping

katy - glad your parents are thrilled

NL - what's rocky road? - it sounds yummy

runny - we need an Easter meet up so you can brood over my new addition
