Am I first? Couldn't think of what to call it....

VS - I think she is hungrier, yes, I tried giving more milk, which helped, but then yesterday she spurned more milk for more food (I guess she can't take both) and she did sleep better last night. Woke once at 5.30 for drink water and then 6.30 properly. She is never hungry for her breakfast til about 8 though - does anyone else have this? Should I stop giving a ten o clock feed?

Hi Eva!!!

VictorianSqualor · 22/01/2009 00:12

LadyBee, don't fret, I have the MOST information (one paper from royal college of midwives stating that a vaginal birth after a CS is at an extra risk of about 0.05% of placental abruption, the only worry they quote) about VBAC, I'll make sure you're completely ready with a million and one stats to hand if they question your choices

For those of you that have my email it's changed to lor ayn @ hotmail .co.uk (no spaces)

Sal, sorry to hear about R, anything anyone of us can do?

Eva! welcome back, now STAY!

VictorianSqualor · 22/01/2009 00:13

Also, Eva, panda was a terrible sleeper til I got the 'no cry sleep solution' want to borrow it? I can send you it tomorrow?

scorpio1 · 22/01/2009 10:12

Well i got the mother of apologies last night. oh yes.

And - i am better YAY

Hi again eva

Sal - that must have been scary dont worry too much about his appointment, they will help you & R.

Ladybee - second what VS said. When it comes to it, we will give you things to say

paranoidmummy · 22/01/2009 10:27

Oh god no vs, now you have got me thinking about vba2cs!!! I was so sure I was just going to go for the planned option after all that waiting around last time!!! I think dh would possible kill me if he had to live with me at 40+ weeks again!!!

Glad your dh apologised scorpio and that you're better

PlainOldPeachy · 22/01/2009 13:24

Poor Sal and R! . Lady running signing group today has child with similar problems and they're being checked for Coeliacs IIRC.

scorpio1 · 22/01/2009 14:46

Think one of us could do with some support and love here Here

(have permission btw)

MommyHasaHeadache · 22/01/2009 14:50

Hello all - catching up quickly while I have some time.

Hello Eva - welcome back (I was Mom2BabyRoo btw). Sorry to hear that N is sleeping so badly. Gigi was as well until she started on solids, made sure she had enough to eat and did some CCing with her. Worked really well and wasn't as horrible as I expected it to be.

Sal!!! OMG!! Poor R - and poor you! What a horrible shock that must have been. Let us know what the test results revel.

LadyBee - my consultant is completely the other way and she said that there is no reason why I can't have a natural birth (even after all the horror of the last). And if I do decide to have another baby, I will def give it a shot. In fact I look forward to it. Would love to know what it is like to give birth naturally and have baby placed on my tummy and have that initial bonding time which I was deprived of with Gigi.

Okay - have to ask a question. Gigi freaks out at the sight of my sister - and I mean freak! It has happened 3 times now, and each time it gets worse. Yesterday my sister came over to see us before we leave, and Gigi was hysterical the moment she set eyes on my sister. She has never reacted like this with anyone else, and in fact I have never seen her cry so hard. In the end I took her off and put her down and she did sleep. She woke up in a great mood, but when she set eyes on my sister again she just wigged out again. WHAT is that about?? Anyone have any pearls of wisdom??

scorpio1 · 22/01/2009 14:52

MHaH - does your sister wear glasses? Mimi gets a little weirded out by people that do (we don't). Speak high/low? Louder than you? How odd!

LadyBee · 22/01/2009 14:59

Hi

MommyHasaHeadache · 22/01/2009 16:15

Scorpio - I wear glasses when I am on the computer as does my mom and sister - so she is used to glasses. Plus my sister took off anything that might freak Gigi out this time - to no avail. As for speaking low/high - I guess she is a bit more pitched than me, but Gigi is used to being around other people who sound different. And LadyBee - no we don't really look alike at all. Just so strange - and my poor sister is stunned as normally babies love her!

PlainOldPeachy · 22/01/2009 18:12

Ladybee has it spot on I think- DH and his FIL sound the same: Bas is weirded ut by FIL, and FIL's dog (bear with me, he really is a baby substitute LOL) goes haywire on hearing DH.

SalLikesCoffee · 22/01/2009 18:40

Thank you so much for the support, you guys. I just knew you'd be great, as always. I went to work early today, but only worked half day, and dh working from home. I know it doesn't really make any difference as he's ok again now, but the shock was just a bit much.

VS, thanks for offering, but to be honest, just having you around to chat to is worth more than anything.

Hello eva!

Weird how luck (or lack thereof, depending on your hv) almost dictates how much support is available with regards to future birth options. Really is shocking.

MHH - how weird. Your poor sister, although I have to admit I giggled at the thought of Gigi frightening your sister! Agree with the others that it's probably the thought of a clone mommy that's a bit of a shock to her system!

Scorpio, glad you got the apology. I was cross on your behalf.

eva07 · 22/01/2009 19:27

thanks for the nice welcome

VS, thanks for your offer, but in fact I got it delivered from Amazon today
now I only have to find time to read it...

DP is going on a business trip tomorrow morning. I'm so not looking forward to the next week.

MHaH, sorry, no idea.

LittleRascal · 22/01/2009 19:54

hi all.
LadyBee- sleepness nights still happening here- going mad!!!slowly but surely. i also dont know if its teething/cold/separation anxiety/unable to put himself back in another sleep cycle. so i am going maaaadddd!!
sal- poor R- shame man! hope he gets better soon. well done for being so strong
pm- congrats- looks like we are on the same sept 09 thread!
mommyhasaheadache- get your sister to wear a jumper of yours that you havent washed yet. sometimes helps. also get her to play in the corner half turned away and bring ds in and play separetly and well away so she gets used to her in the room. also tie her hair up if she has long hair. and dont wear perfume. shame! must be horrible for all you guys!

well we survived our first week back at work and the first week at nursery!- well not week actually- i only work 2 days a week and so ds goes to nursery on those 2 days. feels like an arm is missing! but was so good to get back into the swing of things! ds enjoying nursery but absolutely exhausted from the long day- shame!!!!

hi to all and hugs to all your dc

SalLikesCoffee · 22/01/2009 21:16

Thanks LR. Glad to hear ds is enjoying nursery. I've taken R out of nursery for other reasons, but re the exhaustion - it got better quite quickly, so hang in there. It's probably all just a bit exciting now!

EllieG · 22/01/2009 21:50

PM and Eva are back! Yey! And congrats PM!

And peachy has her old name back! Thank god kept spelling the other one wrong.

Have been busy having no sleep and going slowly mad for a few days, so not around (not, I note, that there have been any 'Where is Ellie we miss her' comments - I will remember that hmmmm )

I think our LOs are going through A Stage. DD was clingy and weird and No Sleeping but Screaming at nights and was horrid. But bit more settled last 2 nights so fingers crossed, or me and DH may well kill each other. Had one of those whispered but incredibly vicious rows a couple of nights ago about management of non-sleeping baby ( he is all for cry it out, I am for pick her up)

scorpio - tell him to stop being a tosser. Do you think you might be anemic? I was once and felt deathly tired and poorly. Get thee to a doctor methinks.

EllieG · 22/01/2009 22:01

Where is knitter these days? Has she been round recently?

OP posts:
VictorianSqualor · 22/01/2009 22:05

I am on bottle 2 of wine, after two weeks of no alcohol. We need good sperm but anyway. I shall talk proper sober tomorrow

So glad our oldies are back, we have fab newerish people, plus our oldies, best PN group on MN

bumpkin32 · 22/01/2009 22:13

Hi Ellie
I too have arguments with my DH about how to handle poor DD when she's upset. The other day I went out for half hour. When I got back DD was upset in her cot and obviously wasn't happy. I picked her up (at DH's annoyance!), and fed her! Ten minutes later content, sleeping baby. Me thinks DH will be less likely to criticise in future!
Glad your DD is bit more settled last few nights.

LadyBee · 22/01/2009 22:34

VS, how does wine = good sperm?

I love you too, VS...awwww you're a happy drunk.

Yes - Ellie, I think you're right...except why isn't Scorpio's Mimi driving her mad huh? Scorpio? What are you doing to that child that she still sleeps through the night.

Little Rascal - so glad nursery is going ok. It is exhausting for them, but I think if it's only a couple of days it gives them a good balance and he'll have a chance to recover while he's with you.

VictorianSqualor · 22/01/2009 23:42

Ermm, well, I'm not ovualting til next week so we are doing no shit food/alcohol for a week before, apparently it helps :/

EllieG · 23/01/2009 08:44

Am hoping Mimi eventually catches up with the rest of 'em and starts really playing up soon, scorpio's had rather too much to be smug about there LOL

Talking of smug, Molly pulled herself up to standing for the first time yesterday! Yes, I know Bas has already taken his first steps, but Mol is a bit backward in this area (clearly cos she is concentrating very hard on developing a cure of cancer or similar) and isn't even crawling properly yet, so we are very chuffed

OP posts:
scorpio1 · 23/01/2009 11:10

Mimi is angel child . Nope, no bother here. Getting about 13 hours at mo. [smug] BUT she is neglected third so probably sees not much point in waking up anyway

VS - also, emm, hold it in for a couple of days before your ov signs. Do you check CP & CM? (let me know if you want links or more info) Also are you taking Folic Acid? I'm sure his sperm is fine you sausage (takes me forever to get pg, lol)
