Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
ruthosaurus · 09/01/2009 14:30

Fin is asleep in his bouncy chair which is an arse as I wanted him to have his afternoon nap in the pram when I go to the shops. He always sleeps in the pram so I think he will just have to have 2 naps, I'm not ready to go out yet.

On the bright side, Friday night is MY night for less disturbed sleep as DH does not have to get up early in the morning, so I am going to clean the Xmas decs and lug the tree outside.

Oh. He just woke up. Shops it is, then - anyone need anything while I'm there?

BigFurryStripeyTiger · 09/01/2009 14:36

you clean your xmas decs....oh dearb i really am a slob!

DH AND I Are going out tonight..to the same place..together..Wow!!!!!

LadyBuzz · 09/01/2009 14:40

Stripey Me neither but I seem to be much better on the wii as there is no hoop to hold up! - You just look a little bit silly!
Rutho could do with a whole big shop if it will fit under the pram

LadyBuzz · 09/01/2009 14:41

Oh and yes they are fun NEither DH nor me are into computer games but we do have a good laugh with the wii and get very competetive too!

BigFurryStripeyTiger · 09/01/2009 14:44

hulahoopless hula-ing sounds like my sort of thing!

ruthosaurus · 09/01/2009 14:49

Ooohhh, nononononono, it's cos the tree got sap all over them. Jeez, no, if it wasn't for that I'd just shove them in a bag like normal.

Stripey, it's me, slob queen of S Yorks, not Anthea Turner!

Buzz, happy to oblige! I need to get fit so I am going on a 3-mile round walk to Tesco up and down Big Hills.

Bugger's asleep again now. Gah!

ruthosaurus · 09/01/2009 14:53

Other forms of exercise - in order to entertain and educate the boy, before he fell asleep (natch), I have just done the "Fresh Prince of Bel Air" theme tune, with accompanying silly dance.

All together now: "Now this is a story all about how/My life got twisted upside down...".

God, I'm bored.

Ceebee74 · 09/01/2009 15:02

Juanitad ooh another recruit for our meet-up - fab!! It will be good to meet another 'bonkers' baby

Ladybuzz my scar hurts inside aswell sometimes - usually if I have done too much. I would say hula-hooping was probably a bit too much - but then again, you are 3 weeks (?) ahead of me in terms of recovery aren't you? I did sit-ups at the gym today - not sure if I should be doing them only 7 weeks post-op but it felt ok whilst I was doing them - will see if anything aches tomorrow.

Pinkglow Happy Birthday! Hope Henry bought you lots of lovely stuff

Right have to go before DH starts moaning cos he needs the computer for work - how inconsiderate eh??

vbab78 · 09/01/2009 15:04

ruth - could you fit me a life under the pram?
DS - So far so good today with minor and very occasional probs. He is having a refusal to go to toilet day though.
LUNCH - We have had for lunch a slow cooker chuck together stew with yorkshire puddings mixed by DS. Was amazing.
QUESTION - It's all healthy isnt it? New Year's resolution in tact?

A - So far so good with the gaviscon. She's had 2 feeds with major burps and no vomit. She has even in two sittings finished the bottle's which she hasnt always. Maybe she is catching up on the last few days. Be interesting to see if things continue good and if so what happens when the gaviscon runs out.

CATCH U LATER.

vbab78 · 09/01/2009 15:05

I so wish one of you fitness or Wii ladies was near me so i could get motivated.

Pinkglow · 09/01/2009 15:55

chocolatrgal yeah just go with the routine thats your LOs age. so start with the 7 week one

I dont follow it to the letter - according to the routine for Henrys age he should have a 15 min nap in the afternoon, thats never going to happen unless I want a very grumpy baby on my hands. its all adjusting it to how your baby is

ruthosaurus · 09/01/2009 16:20

Vbab I don't have a life either - I just did a pointless trip to the shops in a bid to be healthy! Your lunch sounds ace and healthy - bung it into food focus and see what calories it comes up with?

Pinkglow, sorry me dear - Happy Birthday! No manners, me. Have a lovely day!

15 min nap? Ah, that's where I'm going wrong with Fin, he has a 15 HOUR nap. Lazy tyke.

Oblomov · 09/01/2009 16:31

Pinkglow, happy birthday. looking forward to meeting you at dozys on mon.
excuse one handed typing. am bf.
daisy , how are you, and bumble.

Yorky · 09/01/2009 17:00

Furry - DS had his first 2-3 tumbletots this week too, I was so proud of how well he coped with new layout, new people etc.

DD slept from 1145 till 630 last night and I've been useless all day!

Hope A is alright vbab

Rutho, at least DD isn't the only minkyless baby at the meet up!

Loving the idea of hula hooping on the wii!

ChocOrange05 · 09/01/2009 17:32

Quick post

Ladies with babies on infant gaviscon - have you had any constipation in your LO's. I am very as the packet says side effects are very rare but I did an MN search for infant gaviscon and constipation and it seems lots of babies have suffered - my poor little man is going bright red and pooing hard pellets for the past week and no one warned me

BTW - just to clarify "no one" means packet of gaviscon or doctors - not you guys!

LADies, ladies, you need not be minkyless.. only joking!

Right need to throw two small people in bath now if I am to go out on my date with DH!

ruthosaurus · 09/01/2009 18:59

Have a great date - v jealous! Night night ladies x

vbab78 · 09/01/2009 20:12

Well just when I thought I had A's bedtime routine sussed ... no chance! She had half a feed, then bath with DS then nearly all of rest of feed in dark quiet bedroom. She fell asleep seconds after winding. WOOHOO! So put her down in her basket at 7pm and even though she woke up as I put her down she resettled. She then woke at 7.30pm. BUM. She has finished off the last feed and is now working on another with DH upstairs. I figured she was still hungry as Ssh method not working and she was getting more and more upset. Trying to keep her upstairs.
DH come back down whilst I was typing ... She has now gone back down at 8.10pm. WATCH THIS SPACE.

DS - Had fantastic day with him and did loads. Maybe the reason for his good ish behaviour?

LackaDAISYcal · 09/01/2009 20:55

happy birthday to pinkglow.

Obs, thanks for asking lovely . how are you and yours after you and DHs wobble the other night? Are things looking any brighter?

I spoke too soon earlier. He lasted 10 mins then was screaming again.

another two hours of screaming later and we got a massive poo. cue smiley happy baby for a hour, then the screaming started again for another couple of hours and another poo.

He has been so beside himself that he wouldn't feed (probably as he was full to the gunwhales with poo). But, he has had a decent ish feed and has fallen asleep all by himself whislt sitting in his chair.

Pooing shouldn't be causing this much dostress should it? It seems to be getting worse.

have a good night out furrytiger...I'll get one of those sometime, I'm sure.

got our brochure through for centreparcs this morning.....they do a champagne breakfast delivered to your accommodation. Is it selfish of me to have been telling DS all about it and how it make a great (40th ) birthday treat and to be sure to tell dad about it? whether he does or not I'll just have to wait and see.

oh god, he's off again.

J seems to be settling down now, finally.
He has been sleeping quite well, during the day, for a couple of days now. And I got a 6 hour stretch out of him 2 nights ago, but only 2-3 hour stretches last night. ah well.

But still no smiles at 10 weeks
Have ended up starting a thread for reasurance that this is norm in a premmy baby and seem to be being told that, yes, it is normal. I just soo want a smile instead of nothing but frowns

Patience Twinkling, patience!!

LackaDAISYcal · 09/01/2009 21:13

twinkling it's only in the last two weeks that bumble has gotten smiley and chatty. I was worrying about it as DS1 was very alert and smiley at 5 weeks and DD from 3. But he has gone from the very occasional smile to giggling and cooing in a very short time.

how are the nappies going? I've had bumble in a size 2 tots this afternoon as the diddy diapers have suddenly gone like hipsters on him.

OP posts:
juanitad · 09/01/2009 21:18

Daisy, sorry to hear you've had a bad day with bumble. P has been unusually good today - if the play n stay group had been yesterday, you would have seen a much grumpier version!! He spent most of yesterday screeching, for no apparent reason! I'm always baffled by the fact that every day is so different. One day he might sleep for most of the day, the next he will refuse to shut his eyes all day and scream instead!! If only they could talk to us and tell us what they're thinking!!

I have got some metanium ointment, so will try that, thanks for the advice. Will also switch from wipes to cotton wool and water.

I am going to keep missing out the dream feed for another few days and see if maybe he can naturally start to stretch his night feeds. Fingers crossed.

Happy birthday pinkglow by the way.

As I am a latecomer to the thread and the Northern meet-up, I'm not sure which of us are actually meeting on the 23rd, apart from ceebee and Daisy, so who else will be there?

Hope everyone has a good night.

xx

twinklingfairy · 09/01/2009 21:53

I know I need to stop worrying, it will all seem so silly when he does start to smile.

Nappies are going great! I am still so proud to be using them. A friend spotted it today and I was dead chuft!
Is that how long you keep using them, until they are like hipsters? They only just come up to his belly button as it is! But they say they should fit until 15llb.
