Dozy DS1 was out of nappies at 2.1 and dry at night a month later. Had no problems at all until J was born and he wet the bed a couple of times. I don't know what to advise but I def think you re right not to put him back in nappies. How frustrating for you, hope you get it resolved.

Vbab let us know how A is.

BigFurryStripeyTiger · 09/01/2009 09:08

heloo
Great news Barbs, on the referral.Hope you get some good results from that.

vbab I would take her to GP. Imi is still very snotty and mucussy and is a bit pukey with that and I haVE taken her to docs regularly to make sure her chest is ok etc.

DM no not potty trained yet. DS was about 2.5 I think, but veyr ready and only took a week or so, so I'm going to wait the same with DD1. She does sit on the toilet from time to time, copyinjg her brother, and is starting to tell me when she is having a poo, so soon, Ithink.

Is he just a bit off colour. Have to say DS had the odd accident just because he was playing with his trains and didn't wantt to break off for a wee etc. Maybe he needs a few days of reminding/encouragement to get him back into it?

Pinkali37 · 09/01/2009 09:25

Coolkat I will find out, I think it is about an hour away but not sure what the shopping centre is. What is it called? Sounds good to me.

NEXT SALE is great. Although I did nearly have to shove a women next to me when she was getting quicker and quicker next to me as we were making our way to the end of the rail. I was in front i might add and I became exceptionally competitive and ended up hanging things i thought "maybe" to on the pushchair JUST so she couldn't have them. oh the shame of it?!?!?!?

BigFurryStripeyTiger · 09/01/2009 09:36

Soundslike you did really well, Pink. It was such a scrum when I went I kept losing my children and gave up!

ruthosaurus · 09/01/2009 09:54

Eyup, ladies. Mad baby kept me up til 3 yesterday - have discovered DH has developed a medical condition that makes him unable to detect wet nappies so kept telling me Fin was dry for ages when he squeaked. Hmm. Also, must have word with him about getting too interesting - playing with him at 1am nasppy cvhange, bringing basket downstairs when F cries - as is undermining my pathetic attempt at getting F into some kind of routine.

Right ? catchup from yesterday:

Vbab ? so sorry to hear about A being sick, Fin did this for a day last month and then stopped. I wonder if she might be getting hungry/thirsty, can you get her to keep cool boiled water down? I agree with getting her to a doc?s after 3 days. Best of luck and big hugs, chick. Text me if you need to, eh?

Ceebs ? I have no idea, they specified that it had to be the film version of MASH! I think it?s about the Korean War. I am going to go as a potato and claim total ignorance. at your DH ? I told mine that FoodFocus says it will take me til October to get to my ideal weight and he said ?Only that long??. Git.

Coolkat ? No, it was my med student cousin who gave me the sex tips book. This is the same cousin who called my week of pre-labour ?false? labour. She has a lot of babysitting to do to make up for that! Sense of humour she?s got.

Sympathy for the poo in the hair thing. Fin weed in his own hair yesterday but missed all his clothes and I didn?t notice until I got him downstairs and spent ages ruffling his wet hair and asking him ?wots dis in your wuvvly hair den?? until I realised it was wee. Groo. Worked quite well as a styling product but still?

Dozy ? I found that saying wub?wub?wub worked quite well on him in the early days as it mimics my heartbeat (or something). It makes you feel like an arse in Costa, though. Patting him on the bottom has always been a bit of a winner cos I used to pat the top of my bump and he was upside down for weeks!

Barb ? I never knew that babies lapped, like adorable little kittens, but then not being a GP I could be wrong. Bless.

Monkey ? Yo! Things are much better now, thanks hon. But one foot out of line and DH will be sharkbait. My baby is a big bugger too ? 12 lb 14.5 at his 8-week checkup. He is now into some 3-6 months clothing.

Lacks ? blowjobs? Mouth ulcers are so inconvenient? I haven?t done my CB form yet ? and I still haven?t taken my Xmas tree down. . I keep meaning to but I have to wash all the decs as the bloody tree has leaked sap all over them and they are sticky. Ew. And I still haven?t written my thankyou letters. Btw, at what age does one stop having to write thankyou letters? I have never received one from anyone from my parents? or grandparents? generation, although forget to write to them and you soon regret it. Double standard, anyone?

Pinkali ? respect, what a day! Go easy in the Next sale though, hon, people have died for less?

RE Trafford Centre, is anyone else going from S Yorks and wants to buddy up on travel? I am a bit scared of going there for the 1st time on my own as I am a big wuss with cirt traffic that isn?t in Sheffield. And I don?t have a Minky blanket .

Oblomov · 09/01/2009 11:26

Took Max to A&E at 8pm last night. After 2 hrs of uncontrollable crying. Was there for 3 hrs. But seeing specialist within 2 weeks and given ranitidine and domperidone, which are the next step up from gaviscon, for the reflux. So I consider that to be a result.
Plus, I left him in his car seat. Upright. And he slept midnight to 7 am !!!!!!!!

I ned to join huka brigade. going to guildford shopping with dh and ds1 & ds2 tomorrow, so stand a chance.
Can't believe merry sorted the twins in the next sale, for NEXT YEAR. How sorted is that !!!
Daisy, we have been receiving CBfor ages. smug emotion. first thing I did was get my form off for that. I just need to sort out the £250 chq - check martin lewis website for which shares etc are best at the mo.
Juanitad, I swaer by metanium for nappy rash. from chemist. VERY VERY expensive. But put it on and normally gone by next day. THAT GOOD. Every nanny and nursery carer in chertsey swears by it as well !!

FurryTiger - I'll do your tax return - I LOVE doing them - sad bint that I am.
Barb - glad to see referal and good GP, for a change.
Vbab, are you waiting for relux referal aswell ?
Why is Monkeym playing scrabble and not mn. naughty her. more to the point, why is she not scrabbling with ME ? I haven't even got ANY games open at the mo. Come play with me. (Wish dh would 'PLAY' with me !!!!

cricri · 09/01/2009 11:29

Morning ladies
Vbab Hope you managed to get a dr's appt and that A is OK.
Monkey Good to "see" you How was the cranial osteopath? We went for the first time yesterday and she worked on E's diaphragm which she said was tight which could explain her explosive poos She said she'd work on more stuff at the next appt as she didn't want to overload her. E screamed as soon as she was undressed and didn't stop until she was safely back in her car seat Not sure if it was due to the manipulation or the fact that she was undressed. The osteopath also said that the antibiotics she's taking for her kidney condition and also the condition itself might be a factor in her clinginess and refusal to sleep on her own but there's not a lot we can do at the moment about that. She appears to have slipped through the net at the hospital too - I'm trying to chase up her consultant's appt and not getting very far. GP has no record of her condition either
rutho Shame Fin is bothered by wet nappies - I've stopped changing E during the night unless she's dirty rather than just wet. Fortunately she doesn't mind. She slept from 11.30pm until 4am, fed briefly and then slept until 7.45 We did tank her up with 6oz of EBM last night Didn't realise she was that hungry, and that was after a good hour and a half of me bf her.
Barbs Hooray for sympathetic GP and referral! Hope you get an appt quickly.
Hi to everyone else - off to a friend's for lunch so will catch up later

vbab78 · 09/01/2009 11:35

A - She did what I call a class B poo on Wednesday. Class B - All up back and front under babygrow and soaking through to other clothes and current surroundings. On Wednesday it soaked into her car seat and today her bouncing chair. NICE.

doctors say it is possetting so given gaviscon and told to see how it goes.

dozy - I've been trying to potty train DS for at least six months, since he turned 2. Must admit not been brave enough to go without nappies when out and about or at nightime. MAYBE OUR FAULT? DS goes from being fantastic to do what you describe. Been pooing and weeing himself more and more. I sometimes wonder if we tried too early. But also the emotional upset at the mo probably wont be helping things. I've even heard of children reverting back. HELP PLEASE.

ruth - would love to do trafford centre meet up. But I'm nervous too and not sure if all our stuff, keep in mind I have 2 kids in tow with all the c**p that goes with it. Also very nervous about having to fetch DS with his all over the place behaviour. Doesnt make for a relaxing chat and meet up.

ruthosaurus · 09/01/2009 11:38

Crikey - how did it get to 11.30? Off to shower and change (it's been one of those bloody mornings).

I have installed a swearbox at home as I cuss like a squaddie and have already collected about £4. DH asked if it was his beer fund but no, I am going to chuck the cash in a charity tin of some description.

However, I am not stopping the odd swear online as Fin can't hear (and learn from) me here, apologies.

Anyone else suddenly become more conscious that there is a sweet little person watching their bad behaviour?

vbab78 · 09/01/2009 11:38

obs - sorry missed post. Hope the new medicine is doing the trick with Max.

wet nappies - A can seem to sleep happily with wet and poo nappies. DIRTY GIRL . Both times she did class B nappies and pooed her seats she didnt even cry it was only i happened to notice all the yellow smelly stuff.

ruthosaurus · 09/01/2009 11:41

Xpost - Hi Vbab hon, that's okay, you've defo got enough on your plate! DOn't you dare feel bad about that as well [hugs]. How is A?

Yo, Obs, sorry to hear about the A&E trip but good news about 7 hour sleep! Are you not playing me at scrabble? Or is that someone else? I get SO confused.

Okay, must shower or I'll have missed my wondow and Fin will scream while I wash my feet like the selfish evil mummy I am.

Ceebee74 · 09/01/2009 12:02

obs glad you got something sorted for M - lets hope it works!!

Vbab sorry A is being sick - I would also go to the doctors just to get her checked ou.t. Re the meet-up, Daisy and Pinky are bringing their toddlers and I assume we will be going to the soft-play area at the Trafford Centre (am I right?) so your DS can run around as much as he wants there and he will have other children to play with.

Right, I feel a bit embarrassed listening to all of you with children the same age as mine - DS1 is 2.6 and still nowhere near potty-training...please reassure me that this is ok?? He is showing no signs of being ready - other than telling us when he has done a poo (not before he does it ), not interested in the potty/toilet. I feel quite embarrassed changing him in public aswell - which I know is more about me than him I am planning on tackling it in the Spring sometime when it is easier for him to run around naked!

Sam has taken to falling asleep on our bed - it appears to be the only place where he will settle during the day...it is not safe is it??

Just done my first post-baby gym sesh - I feel fab - I have missed it!!

Ceebee74 · 09/01/2009 12:04

Meant to say that Sam will sleep through wet and dirty nappies too - I often get him changed in the morning to find poo in there! We also don't change him at night unless we do smell poo - so he has the same nappy on for 12 hours - doesn't bother him at all! DS1 was exactly the same....wonder if that is why he is happy not to be potty-trained

Unfortunately it does make me lazy during the daytime as I often forget to change Sam's nappy regularly

juanitad · 09/01/2009 12:31

Just been to a local stay n play group met Daisy there, is strange meeting an MN person in RL!! I had a lovely time there, P behaved impeccably, think he enjoyed seeing faces other than mine and hearing noises other than the TV (must stop having it on when he is awake!!) Daisy is v nice and v knowledgeable! I think I will probably join the Trafford Centre meet-up, as she has allayed my fears about how to get there! Sounds like it's quite easy from Leeds. So looking forward to seeing you all there.

Thanks for all the advice re: the nappy rash. I have a docs appointment for P next Weds, so will ask then, but in the meantime I will try out some of the creams you ladies suggested.

Is anyone else who is doing some kind of routine thinking of cutting out the 10/10.30/11pm feed? So far, I have been putting P down to sleep at 7.30/8pm. He then sleeps really soundly until I wake him at 11 for a feed, but then he doesn't seem to sleep as soundly for the rest of the night. So for the last couple of nights I decided to leave him, and see what happened. The first night he woke up at around 1.15, then last night at 12.15 (and again, both times he didn't sleep so well after these feeds) I can't decide whether to go back to the 11 pm feed or keep missing it out. Any thoughts?

Pinkglow · 09/01/2009 12:59

ceebee snap thats just like DS - quite often in the morning he will have poo in his nappy, it doesnt bother him at all, I have to remind myself to change him after every feed otherwise I think he'd quite happily go all day without getting changed.

obs glad you got abit of a result a the hospital, and with him sleeping

Todays my birthday and Henry decided to give me a present of sleeping 9pm-5:50am (with a quick dream feed at 10:30pm)Hes also back to his old self as the jabs he had a couple of days ago made him a bit poorly and grumpy

barbareebaa · 09/01/2009 13:10

hi all!
Juanitad Same here - past couple of nights I have not woken Will up at 12. The first night he woke at 1.30 and wouldn't settle back in his cot - cold I think. Last night he slept from 9pm til 4,30 I kept geting up to check as I could here him mumbling and I thought he was awake but he was asleep!! Then he threw up and did explosive poo and slept from 6am - 8am! Yay! Won't happen again tho....
Reason I thought to stop it was I was only doing it to get more sleep for myself (didn't actually work) but he hardly fed because he was too sleepy. At least this way he wants to feed (even if he does sick it back up )
happy birthday Pinkglow

chocolategal · 09/01/2009 13:44

happy bday pinkglow obs im guessing your stress levels must be through the roof with all that you've had going on! glad you got some kind of result from a&e tho.
ceebee i let E sleep on top of my bed in the mornings while i am having my shower etc, prob not a great thing to start but he seems to sleep anywhere except his moses basket!

for those following GF routines, i have just read the contented little baby book, while i dont agree with some of it i definately am going to try the feeding pattern and hope the sleep patterns follow on.
question E is almost 7 weeks, so i guess i just start at the routine for that age????

BigFurryStripeyTiger · 09/01/2009 13:47

Happy Birthday Pinkglow

ceebee don't feel embarrassed about the potty training- there is no rule, is there? Stage not an Age and all that! DD1 is not ready either and she's nearly 2.5.

Yay to everyone meeting up. Vbab I'm coming on the bus, so am a bit nervous about all the crap, too, which is why I did a test run yesterday!

DD1 moved up to big girl Tumbletots (well, 2-3's , and she loved it!)

LadyBuzz · 09/01/2009 13:48

Obs sorry to hear about your A&E trip but great that Max slept for so long!
I havestarted a new scrabble game with you too!

Happy birthday Pinkglow Barbs glad Will is sleeping hope it continues.
I would like to stop waking Jay but unfortunatly I have to to take him to bed so I am going to wait until he goes to bed at his bedtime and not ours and hop for the best. He is pshing his night feed later and later, 5am this morn and 6am the night before.

I am having poo issues, I forgot what ABs do to a small baby, Jay is pooing constantly!

Vbab my BFs DD reverted back after 5 months being dry! Tis probaly better to wait then to go back into nappies, don't feel bad every child is different.

I'm a bit sore today, I did 35 mins on the ii fit yesterday and my CS scar was vv painful last night but on the inside, HAs anyone else had anything like this?

BigFurryStripeyTiger · 09/01/2009 13:51

Ladybuzz I was a bit sore last night after my soft play experience. I thought I had popped a stitch ages ago, but actually it's a bit that has pulled tight on my left hand side, and that is where I get most twinges.

LackaDAISYcal · 09/01/2009 13:51

aaargh, bumble won't stop crying....fed, winded, changed, cuddled, tried to feed again...nothing. an hour he has been going....meanwhile dd runs amok.

It was lovely meeting juanitad, and her DS is gorgeous.....and very chilled. apologies for being a bit vacant juanitad.....three hours sleep last night plus trying to keep an eye on dd as well as chat and deal with ds.....my multitasking skills have abandoned me.

It's a really nice group there though...and on the doorstep

agree on metanium, fab stuff. also if you are using wipes, try just water for a few days and see if that helps. and i think i started talking about 11oclock feeds but got distracted! dd dropped that one about six weeks then started stretching the time between them from there. I'd just let him wake up when he is ready.

he has dropped off; maybe the laptop fan has soothed him

forgotten all else, sorry.

oh vbab, hope A is OK.

OP posts:
BigFurryStripeyTiger · 09/01/2009 13:53

twisting is the worst thing- if you think of the sort of action you make when hoovering. That's why the rule is usually 12 weeks for strenuous exercise.

LadyBuzz · 09/01/2009 14:03

Thanks StripeyTiger That will most likely be the Hula Hoopinggame then
I think I will have to take it easy for another couple of weeks and stick to steps.

BigFurryStripeyTiger · 09/01/2009 14:10

Glad your wee amn has finally settled, daisy DS used to have a right old scream before falling asleep sometimes- I hated it, but nothing would placate him; I think sometimes they just get frustrated trying to catch their sleep.

BigFurryStripeyTiger · 09/01/2009 14:14

lol LB I could never get the hang of hula hooping! They osund like funj these wii thingies.

amn = man, BTW. New name but typing is still the same!!
