Have a look in my profile at my 11+5 bump. I knew it was getting bigger but OMG it looks huge. I know i'm big anyway but still, it's massive.

Gonna have a look in a min Phoenix.
Macca, its kind of ok but tbh I'm not improving I'm averaging 7 aerobics hours and 2 or 3 running hours a week, but I really feel like I need to up that now. Running is good, but I know I dont do enough, and I 'm slow. And shit on the hills. I need to change something to just give a bit of a booost, you know? But I dont know what. I'm gonna try and do a few really long slow trreadmill runs cos I've been park-running lately, so at least that 'll build my times up. I also need to really focus on abs. But my abs and back have always been weak. Crunches pointleess so doing full sit ups, to no avail, aswell as leg raises of varying sorts. I still need to lose weight, but tbh I'm not as fussed about that now as I am about sorting out my fitness. Altho I obv want to look stunning and toned too Come on, help me with all your experience and wisdom...

mustrunmore · 03/01/2009 17:09

Cool bump
Er, why does everyone elses child look so mucg more grown up than ds2 does?

Returnofthemac · 03/01/2009 18:51

Good grief woman, that's a ridiculous amount to do. Firstly, I suggest you reduce what you are doing but increase the intensity. Quality not quantity. Do you still have that treadmill in your living room? Right, if you do, I suggest you do 2 interval sessions a week. If you want to see results, I suggest you up the intensity. What do you normally run at that is a comfortable pace, i.e you can run holding a conversation?

Sit ups, crunches, etc will only tone your muscles, they won't reduce fat. You'll have amazing abs but still won't see them if you don't lose the fat. You cannot spot reduce, body fat will drop all over, you can't ask it to fall off in particular places.
Sit ups are not the best for abs, more emphasis on your hip flexors to pull you up. Crunches are much better. Just need to ensure you have good form.

Right, treating ourselves to a Chinese tonight. Ds1 has just had his Birthday Party and I for one am knackered. He wanted a Darth Vadar cake so I spent most of yesterday making a cake and cutting out shapes to build up the face mask.

Friz, have I been away that long you don't recognise me

Phoenix · 03/01/2009 19:13

God there's some drama round here this week. I just heard loads of shouting so had a nose out of the window and saw a group of lads arguing with one lad. Then saw dh's car pull up so got a bit scared that he'd get involved so opened the door to make sure he didn't say anything. As he got to the door he said 'get in one of them's got a knife, and it ain't a small knife' They were then running all through gardens and in between cars, still shouting etc. One of the group of lads picked a plant pot (plastic but full of muck) out of next doors garden and threw it at the knife bloke but it hit dh's car instead. Then they carried on down the street and towards the small police station that's a couple of doors down thank god. I'm still shaking.

mrm- hair looks great! you look very different though, and I think you looked lovely before, even if you don't :P
That is far too many classes how do you afford them? costs a fortune round here....

Phoenix- bump is looking fab- gonna be another boy.... I went into maternity trousers at 9 weeks this time round!

Friz- we had bacon butties for tea tonight- too tired to be bothered making anything else to be honest.

My brother came up as planned, but drove up last night and slept on the sofa.... as soon as he'd gone to bed, he threw up everywhere DH had to clean it up as I was in the bath, and can't get on the floor properly anyway, so he wasn't particularly happy. Rug is stained now though thankfully he missed DH's wii fit board by inches...

Phoenix · 03/01/2009 20:08

Oh great it seems the knife wielding maniac has hit dh's car with the knife causing a scratch and dent. Accross the road neighbour told dh that as the plant pot was coming towards him he hit dh's car, sort of protecting himself. And also one of the neighbours cars has a knife scratch down the windscreen

mustrunmore · 03/01/2009 20:16

Cool, all happening at your place!

Er, I'm ,ahem. not exactly paying for all... of course, that would be ridiculous. Macca, I'm sticking withthis many cos I need to for reasons not my own, but thats why I wanna add somwething else to cover the intensity angle.

EachPeachPearMum · 03/01/2009 20:17

great phoenix.
people are lunatics aren;t they?

Frizbe · 03/01/2009 20:44

Phoenix that sucks Don't suppose you can do anything about the cars either, still I'm thankful that your all ok, particularly your dh with him being out there. I think your bump looks lovely When's your scan?

CSWS I am such a ditzy mare today Waves hello at Macca.

MRM I'll recommend pilates at least once a week, has worked wonders on my lower back and tum (even though I've not been for a month and a half due to the gym bicker) I've been a good girl today and stuck to my 1st day back on wwatchers, 20 points, sob, its hard.

EPPM sorry for the carpet and hope your brother is feeling better today? mmmm bacon sarnies.

Dh is fast asleep on the sofa here He started snoring during Demons snoring thru Gene Genie, honestly. Did anyone else watch it, I quite liked it

So I installed my new web cam today, now I'm scuppered though, as not sure how to link it to google mail or msn (not sure either of them will take it, any ideas? was going to ask dh, but snoring eh!) I signed upto goolemail today and will send you all my mail when I get around to it, as messanger wouldn't load on laptop for ? reason (vista??)

Jas · 03/01/2009 20:48

Oh, dear Phoenix. All sounds quite scary...
Love the bump pic

Does an early bump mean a boy? Not here it didn't

EPPM yuk. I can do kids sick, but wouldn't be happy about puking visitors.

Macca - hello. Nice to see you back Good to have someone who knows about these things telling mrm she is doing too much. I think so, but obviously don't have any credentials to say so being a total non-exerciser.

mrm- I thought your ds looked more grown up than mine last time I saw him.....maybe that is just me seeing himas a baby still though

Phoenix · 03/01/2009 20:51

Oh good thinking Friz, I switched to googlemail the other day too so if anyone wants my email address it's the same as my hotmail one but @googlemail.com instead of @hotmail.com

Thanks Friz, scan is Monday. I'm scared but excited too

I forgot to say MRM your hair looks really nice, is it a bit shorter too?

for your brother and rug EPPM but phew for the Wii fit board Another boy eh? I really wanted a boy with ds but have come round to the idea of a girl this time so not at all bothered either way I even think we have names sorted for either sex

OP posts:
Jas · 03/01/2009 20:51

No idea about webcam etc Frizbe. I got a wireless internetty thing for Christmas that I can't use until I buy an extra bit for my computer....really ought to do something about that.

I took the dc to the wildlife park today in the hopes of them getting an early night, and starting to wake up before 9am, as they dds are back at school on Monday. DS is still up
Asking for drinks, which are resulting in leaking night nappies, he is drinking so much.

Frizbe · 03/01/2009 20:58

Ooo I got a leakey nappy from dd2 this am another big drinker!
I'll make sure I get you added Phoenix good luck for Monday.
Dd2 fell asleep eating her tea tonight, she's been very active all day, so when dh got home, she moved to sit next to him (having already eaten half her tea, saturday tea on sofa, special treat!) and the next thing we knew, she had her her head lolling on his arm, bless. dd1 has been feeling a bit poorly all day, am hoping she fights it off, as obviously school on Monday!

CantSleepWontSleep · 03/01/2009 21:12

Mention of baby names has dragged me to my keyboard - what are you thinking of Phoenix?

Did you manage to sort your name quandary too EPPM?

Dd still has another week off before school restarts - eek!
She keeps asking for food at bedtime, because she messes about at mealtimes and only ends up eating half of her dinner. I screamed and shouted at her , and then had a talk which included me telling her that from tomorrow she is only allowed to bf first thing and last thing. No doubt she will have forgotten by morning and still expect 20 feeds throughout the day .

I'm waiting to see your hair in the flesh btw mrm, as I can't really tell what it's like from those pics.

Phoenix · 03/01/2009 21:17

csws, Rhys Joseph for a boy and maybe Morgan Grace for a girl. We like it but not sure about the unisex thing.

OP posts:
Frizbe · 03/01/2009 21:31

Lovely names Phoenix

CSWS {{{hugs}}} it can't be easy with both of them wanting feeding all the time (so much for the theory that the eldest gives up when the new one is born eh!)

CantSleepWontSleep · 03/01/2009 21:38

Oh yes, good names, though know what you mean re unisex thing.

Phoenix · 03/01/2009 21:57

Police have just been for a statement from Dh. Apparantly it was a fall out over drug money (they are well known to the police). The knife bloke is locked up don't know about the other 4. It's gonna end up in court but dh has said he's not willing to go to court so they haven't bothered taking a statement just asked what he saw which tbh wasn't much the bloke accross the road saw everything.

OP posts:
EachPeachPearMum · 03/01/2009 22:09

Phoenix- yay for scan monday Hope all is well. Cannot believe you have got names agreed already!

We have a name... but I am not 100% sure, as I am worried I only like it because it is all we have come up with
Boys' names are so hard!!!!!!!!!! I want to see what he looks like first, but DH has been calling him the name for months now...so I think it's a foregone conclusion

Speaking of names.... the younger brother of one of DD's nursery friends is mentioned in an article about baby names in the Times today here (he is baby onions )

Milo is actually one of the names I like... but everyone will pronounce it mylo instead of meelo, so I think DH will get his name....

mustrunmore · 04/01/2009 09:38

I'd agree, boys nmaes are so so hard! We had girls name from the instant we diid pos tests, boys were a mare! I love the nmes we chose, but I do emember being very kee non Tudor and Heath, and dh sayinf absolutely not

Phoenix, it is shorter; I dont like it short at all but it'll grow.

Friz, I just cant get the hang of pilates.

Phoenix · 04/01/2009 09:54

No girls names are much harder for us. We have loads of boys names, hardly any girls.

OP posts:
Jas · 04/01/2009 09:54

You know how hard we found boys names

Unisex is ok for a girl, but FIL has a unisex name....I couldn't do that to a boy!

Jas · 04/01/2009 09:56

Well we didn't do well on girls either tbh!

MRM - It isn't short, just slightly less long! I like it.
