what is with me tonight?? I now have this weirdy image of MrCSWS with a breast pump trying desperately to get some milk out of himself

Jas · 13/11/2008 21:47

I agree worry is worry, and tbh, I am so used to it now, I don't expect different.

He is a carpenter EPPM, but tomorrow will be a roofer

EachPeachPearMum · 13/11/2008 22:00

flame!

Jas- yes- how do they do that? I know a plumber... who is also a roofer and an electrician depending on what day it is!

CantSleepWontSleep · 13/11/2008 22:04

Jas - didn't realise that carpentry was dp's building specialty. If he can work early next week then we'd like a cupboard building in our hallway, and a couple of floating shelves in dd's new room. We've asked our other builder to do it, but it's not part of our contract, so unless he turns up to do it tomorrow it shouldn't be a problem to cancel him. Does he work on a set daily rate? If so then can you say or mail me what it is?

lol at the images in your head flame .

mustrunmore · 14/11/2008 13:03

Frankly, flame's head is very worrying

Flamesparrow · 14/11/2008 14:42

No different to yours m'dear

mustrunmore · 14/11/2008 20:57

You reckon?!

Flamesparrow · 15/11/2008 09:39

Most def - I just hide it better than you lmao

Jas · 15/11/2008 17:46

Email on the way, csws

Jas · 15/11/2008 17:52

EPPM - If he is like dp, most of his work is on new build and refurbs. when there are lots of trades onsite, and you see what is being done, get to know the other workers, help out and over the years learn a bit about everthing. There is also a fair bit of overlap.

He does all the joists and things for new roofs, so is used to the height work and doing the calculations and angles, so putting on tiles and felt or whatever is just the next stage.

I just wish the man could get his act togethre when it comes to doing the stuff at home!!

DS went to his first soft play party today. I don't think he even knew which child was the birthday boy tbh, but did enjoy the free play and food

Phoenix · 15/11/2008 19:39

Ds went to his first soft play party today too

Huh- DD asked last night about her birthday party.... "When it's my birthday party, mummy...."
I am due 14 days before her 3rd b'day.... methinks there will be no party!

Jas- they never get their act together at home though, do they? When my laptop died, I lost everything because DH is always too busy or too tired to do any back-ups. That would never happen at work.

Are soft play parties as chaotic as I think they would be?

Phoenix · 16/11/2008 07:39

No idea about party chaos cos dh took Lewis while i was at work

Soft play parties are a huge waste of money for children this young imo...there were about 15 children aged 2-6 who all went off and played sepertely for an hour, then ate the food the mum had prepared, sung happy birthday and left.

Relatively easy for the parents, and easier still if you pay for food to be included, but so not worth it!

Under normal circs I'd say do a small party at home.....all girls are easy and usually relatively little chaos, but since new baby is due, I'd do a special family day out (somewhere close to home that requires lots of sitting down!) this year if it was me.

CantSleepWontSleep · 16/11/2008 12:47

Seems it was a popular day for parties yesterday. We took dd to one at a friend's house, where she managed to be the third child since they moved in earlier this year to fall in the pond.

EachPeachPearMum · 16/11/2008 13:18

csws! Time for them to fill it in.... they are so dangerous with little ones around.

For DD's 1st and 2nd b'day we did family outings- Farm, and Sealife Centre- we all had a lovely day each time.
The problem is all her little compatriots at nursery have had parties... and she just expects that is what happens!

Flamesparrow · 16/11/2008 13:45

DS 1st one was just my mum & PIL at my mum's house (bigger & cleaner), the 2nd I did an open house thing where people could turn up and visit if they could be arsed, had some nibbly bits on the side.

Flamesparrow · 16/11/2008 13:46

DD's were diff as they are the day before Psychoboy1 - the first we just sort of joined in his party (her friends were Psycho's kids anyway), the 2nd Psycho was in charge of as it was the week before my wedding.

mustrunmore · 16/11/2008 18:51

We did open house onve but everyone turned up at the same time so ir didint really owrk
