Hello Everyone!! Never seem to get the chance to log in these days, but just wanted to say hi and hope you all doing well, can't believe where the time is going. Kaesha nearly 8 months - how did that happen?! Crawling and trying to pull herself up on stuff which is utterly amazing and scary all at once!! Wish I could keep up with all that's going on on here but seem to have trouble achieving that in RL so not much hope of mananging it here!! Lots of love and wishing you all well, will prob manage to log in again in a few months!!!

Hi everyone just a quick one as laptop is broken and am on phone without much credit.

We are moving on saturday!! probably just as well laptop is broken as means I won't spend time on internet and can concentrate on packing and cleaning.

Took ds to be weighed today, he is doing really well is half way between 25th% and 50th% so well up from where he had dropped pre weaning. HV made me buy vitamin drops for him though as am breastfeeding . Was also bloody useless re sleep-said "well some sleep and some don't"

Glad you all like the pic, feel v exposed now though and didn't realise my full name would be there for all to see but never mind! Skid I am a little bit ginger . Caz thanks for the compliment, believe me I have some very stressed moments!! Weightwise not too bad with them in sling, didn't wear them both for long but only felt it in legs when going upstairs-back, shoulders etc all ok.

Happy birthday Clara, hope it isn't too hard being so far away from everyone, at least you'll have your dh and dd's there. I saw that about the breastfeeding somewhere, interesting how different it is in different places. Is it easy enough to buy formula there though? Someone I know went backpacking with baby and could only get it in the pharmacies in a lot of places.

Ok that's long enough will catch up more soon

BouncingTurtle · 05/08/2008 22:32

For Claraq!

Clairey - woohoo about your house move, I bet you are and atm!

Hi Melly, good to hear from you!

Fifi - sorry you had a rough night, Daniel was also very unsettled last night!

Been to the pictures to see Mamma Mia it was absolutely brilliant

Daniel flaked out at 6.30, I left an hour later, DH said he stirred a couple of times, then woke up properly sobbing his heart out when I didn't come , DH took him into our bedroom and he stopped crying, then he started up again when he realised I weren't there!
Eventually Dh calmed him down by tellng him in a story, he put him in his cot, Daniel grabbed is dodie, put it in his mouth and settled him back to sleep, I've just checked on him and he is sound asleep!

skidaddle · 06/08/2008 09:36

ahh your poor DS bouncing - I think they are at that age now when they are really attached to you and hate it when you leave them. I left DS sitting in his highchair this morning with DH right ther ebut he was straining round to see where I was going and crying his little heart out

clara - HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!! It must be really strange to be there so far from everyone but I hope your DH has a lovely treat lined up for you! It sounds really hard but I'm sure things will slowly get better and better until it is time to come home again and you will be gutted! How is your DD1? Are the tantrums getting any better?

Hi mellymooks! Great to hear from you and well done to your DD for crawling

good luck with the house move clairey and at your HV's advice, not to mention

bouncing - I got all the free safety stuff from Surestart as well - they only give you one stargate though so you have to decide whther to put it at the top or bottom of the stairs!

It was the little girl I told you about's funeral yesterday - so sad. I spoke to the doctor who treated her as well (a friend's husband) - he is devastated.

DS has finally started babbling - it is so cute! I had forgotten how sweet they sound - he does all different sounds but gaga seems to be his favourite. He is also sort of crawling backwards (a few inches at a time) - this is such a lovely age, isn't it? He is so gorgeous I could just eat him

BouncingTurtle · 06/08/2008 12:27

Skid - yes they are totally edible, but I can't leave DS alone for long otherwise he gets into trouble as he can really get about!
We already have one safety gate, so we should be ok.
Hello everyone else - gosh it is quiet here lately!

Lizzer · 06/08/2008 12:53

HELLO!! So sorry not to be in touch, various reasons, holidays etc...not a v good excuse though... I'm going to spend ages catching up with all your news now..

Everything ok here, ds crawled 2 days after his 7m birthday-what a nightmare!!!!!

be back on in a while, also going to join facebook group!

Beanstermummy · 06/08/2008 13:39

greetings

absolutely manic here with work, visitors at home and general chaos - but pretty good really.

DD2 still isn't crawling, even though she's 8 mths tomorrow but stands and even sort of walks if you hold her hands - think she may miss the crawling bit completely? Food is good - bit random at times but overall she's in a pretty good routine and at least last week we managed to get her to have water so have been able to lose a milk feed - as she was having 4 full feeds she wasn't really wanting tea then would be grumpy later - but sorted now I hope. DD1 is crazy and drives me insane at times but then others is fab angel type creature - fickle little beasts aren't they

My folks are coming to to stay for a couple of days today and for once not even slightly stressed about the house - have finally sorted out a cleaner (even though can't really afford it but have decided to forgo wine if need be!!) and she did a huge spring clean and tidy yesterday for me - my Mum will be happy!!

Loucee Caz10 - when are you in town next? I'm in Manchester on Wed then London Thursday but following week should be good - Are you back at work then though Caz? boo hiss.

Anyway - best dash back to making up cost forecasts! Glad to read all your posts and things in general seem to be going well for us all - and apologies for the generalisation for those of you with problems/issues/concerns still

Oh yes - forgot to say - friends of ours had a little boy 2 weeks ago - and after trips to the hospital in Dundee 30 miles away, went home again and the Dad ended up delivering a bouncing little boy before the ambulance had got there!! As soon as the Mum had got home, she had a bath to chill out, waters broke and LO at 7lb 6oz arrived there and then!! Scary but they were both fine afterwards - only one small tear and LO is thriving

Speak soon and take care x

cazzybabs · 06/08/2008 13:49

HELLO - I am back from Cornwall. Had a lovely tim inspite of th weather not being brilliant and it being so far away.

Evie dangled her legs in the sea, enjoyed the sand and had her head sun burnt (bad bad mother alert). She slept throught the night again - so she has now done it twice - whoopie. She has started to cruise around the sofas (although she prefers crawling) and can climb up the stairs.

Suey - hope the scan brings good news.

Caz - sorry!!! I am waiting mine - its like a waiting game...when will it come?

claireybee · 06/08/2008 20:50

ok now i really don't have credit so can't read the messages but just had to tell you all...
DS JUST SETTLED HIMSELF TO SLEEP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IN HIS COT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

woohoo let's hope it brings sleep my way!

Caz10 · 06/08/2008 21:47

Hi all!

Just a quicky as dd is staging her own little sleep rebellion, just to keep me on my toes cot disaster here

WELL DONE to clairey's ds!! Can you send him over to have a word with dd? If I am the last Dec girl to have no sleep I will cry...esp as back to work NEXT WEEK . can't even begin to describe how awful I feel about it

Happy Birthday Clara!!! My fiiend in Dubai goes on this website expat woman and seems to like the forums, might there be something similar for where you are? (as long as you don't leave us you understand!)

Caz10 · 06/08/2008 21:51

clearly I have a friend in Dubai and not a fiend!

BouncingTurtle · 07/08/2008 06:38

Caz - sympathies - Ds was rather unsettled last night, had to go up twice to cuddle him back to sleep before my bed time at 10:30, he then woke up shortly after for a feed then woke twice more up til 1am when I put him in bed with use!
Shall look at your thread.

Cazzy - glad your holiday went well, poor Evie having sunburn! I won't tell SS on you if you won't tell on me, DS has an enormous scratch down one cheek as mummy is rubbish at cutting his nails Dh has now taken to calling him scarface
Oh and I've got the HV coming today
I bumped into her last week to ask about the 6-9mo check, and they said it is done at 9mo, so I said I'll be going back to work then, so she arranged for this week instead.
Beanster - in the Birth to 5 book, it says some babies skip crawling and go straight to walking - sounds like DD!
Lizzer - hello! Hey I meant to say, I picked up Mumsnet Guide to babies in the library the other week and saw loads of quotes from you in it
Skid - the babbling is way cuter than the high pitch screeching...
I kept thinking about that little girl yesterday, her poor parents

cazzybabs · 07/08/2008 09:55

Evie is in to high pitched screeching (and pinching - she left a mark on my arm) - what with that and the nappies I am wondering if I can swop!! Mind you another night she slept through - horrah.

claraquitetirednow · 07/08/2008 15:00

Hi everyone, just a quickie as meant to be ordering food online through this website that is pretty well useless but at least we can get a few things!

Thanks for birthday messages, thanks in particular to BT for the delicious cake (yum yum, it looks just like the one I got last night baked for me by one of my new friends!) and also to Caz for the link to the website your "fiend" uses!

I ended up having a really nice birthday. About 12 people came round, none of whom I knew from Adam just over two weeks ago but all of whom are very nice. We drank champagne all evening and I got some really nice presents. I feel so much better about being here after that as I do think people are lovely and that is what usually makes or breaks a posting.

Oh and we didn't get to bed until about midnight but then dd2 didn't wake until 6.30am so I didn't feel too bad this morning!
Otherwise it is still extremely hot but we have been out bonding with other mums and babies of all sorts of nationalities today, which has been nice. And I have discovered our staff will cook us delicious curries if you ask them so my ayah is going to make us a chicken biryani for tomorrow night, result!

Skid - dd2's tantrums are as bad as ever but I don't think the heat is helping as she gets very tired by the end of the day. But unfortunately a lot of it is aimed at dd2, which perhaps would be happening even if we were back in the UK.

Ok, back to the silly website. Still planning to join the Facebook group but never seem to get a chance!

BouncingTurtle · 07/08/2008 18:02

Cazzybabs- ow! DS pinched my boob and left a bruise few weeks back so sympathies!
Claraq - glad you enjoyed your birthday and the cake

cazzybabs · 08/08/2008 17:38

clareq - I am on facebook if you ever get round to joinning - am friends with Pecka and Jarm (or what ever she is now - not that I ever really speak to them, but I do like having a nosey through their photos.

Mind you I am in BIG trouble with dh - I infected his computer with a virus. I am normally so careful so I don't know how it happened...but I was using Windows and logged in as him, and he knew it was me as mumsnet was in the cache (whoops). Anway he fixed it although it did mean we ended up going to bed aty about 2am.

thingamajig · 09/08/2008 22:46

Hi all, long time no post from me. Moo and I re well, shes not quite crawling but has come on physically so much in the last couple of days; she pulled herself to standing on her grandads lap by hauling on his tie. She was very surprised, he had a very tight tie
We went to the Big Chill festival, camping with the baby, it went really well, not too much rain, and I want to go camping again.
Off to my mothers for a few days, she lives four hours away so really misses her gd inbetween visits.
Cazzy, where in Cornwall were you? We live in South East Cornwall, its great to be able to go to the beach whenever we like.

becklespeckle · 09/08/2008 23:17

Hello all! Another week has flown by without the time for MNet - arghhh! Everytime I sit down to have a catch up, DH collars me to go on his Facebook for him! Sometimes I wish there were more hours in the day! Lots seems to have happened this week, DH and DS1 now need glasses for close work and I need stronger ones for the same (a very dear trip to the opticians as you can imagine), DS1 typically picked the most expensive pair he could find although they are quite funky so hopefully he will wear them when he needs to. Evie has almost mastered crawling, she does a mean forwards commando-style crawl and is having a good go at a real crawl too, can't quite get her arms and legs to go in the right order yet though! Also DH had an interview on Friday for a job doing maintenance at an airport, job sounds fab and money is great, he's got to go for a second interview once all the security checks are complete and hopefully he'll get it but I'm not counting chickens just yet.

Anyway, enough about me, how are you guys?

Skid, am very impressed that you managed to express 2 9oz bottles! I never managed more than 3 oz in one go! Would be interested to know how much DD takes each feed. You are right about the babies being at such a yummy age at the moment, I could just eat Evie she is so cute and such a little person now!

Clairey, love your extreme babywearing photo! Hope your move has gone well today and Yay! for DS self-settling in his cot, hope he keeps it up!

Caz for your period, mine has not arrived yet and am not looking forward to it, I am assuming it will arrive once I stop BFing but am always very very irregular anyway. Is DD doing any better in her cot? Hope the return to work isn't too bad, I can just imagine how bad you feel, I go back 2 evenings in September and am dreading it already. Hoping DH gets the good job and then I won't need to as I have a little typing job from home now, unfortunately it doesn't pay enough at the moment to quit the supermarket.

Fifi at your hols, hope you have a fab time! Glad that Ethan is fine now, hope the Nystatin is working - I had the cream while pg and it was great, gently did the job IYKWIM.

Suey, hope you have good hols too, sorry to hear about your fibroids, hope the scan goes well when you get back x

JewelsandGems, how are you? Did you test yet? Hopefully you are just irregular at the moment. Are you still bfing? I am and am taking the mini-pill as I do not want to be pg again. Oh, and I have a little sock puller too, she always looks so pleased when she gets one off! Looking forward to seeing how she manages when she's back in tights...

Wizz, hope you had a good weekend and it was not too crowded!

BT, glad you had a good time in Scotland, am still very ! Bless Daniel missing you! I popped to town the other day while Evie was sleeping and was a bit long, when I got back she was happily playing with DH, wasn't at all bothered that I wasn't there when she woke! Would almost be offended if she wasn't so cute, afterall I am the only one who has ever fed her, dressed her, changed her nappy etc... . Mind you, she was playing on the floor today and I sat down near her and she twisted round and lifted her arms to me [heart melting emoction] and she won't let DH feed her!

Clara, Happy Birthday for Wednesday, am glad it turned out to be nice for you! Also glad that you are settling in well despite the heat, will it cool down soon or does the Summer stretch into Autumn in Pakistan? Sorry to hear DD1 is still tantrumming, I doubt the move and heat and everything has helped but speaking from experience I am sure it would still be a problem if you had stayed in Britain.

Mellymooks, hiya! Great to hear from you! I too find it hard to keep up with everything in RL and MNet too (hence my once-a-week posts).

Hi Lizzer! Beanster, at your cleaner (although I would be the type to clean before the cleaner arrived). I have given up on DDs afternoon bottle too after DH suggested she may be refusing because she is not hungry... it makes sense as she was also refusing her tea. Now she is loving her tea again and seems more than happy with only 3 milk feeds a day (especially as they are all BFs). Will tackle the bottle issue again once back from hols (legoland!) but perhaps just stick with a cup.

Cazzy, glad you had a good hols! Can't believe your Evie is climbing the stairs! Mine is just starting to master pulling herself up onto her knees to get the toys in her toy basket and can climb all over me proficiently - it's scary how quickly she's learning new things!

Right, off to nose on Facebook for a while before DH comes home and takes over!

becklespeckle · 09/08/2008 23:22

Thingmajig, hiya, x-posts with you! Sounds like your DD is doing really well, I call mine Moo too! Camping sounds fab, I would love to go this year but DH says maybe next year as he thinks LO is too young.

buzzybee · 10/08/2008 10:30

Hi all just dropping by to say Hi. We had a lovely holiday in Queensland last week. Great to see the sun after the weeks of rain we've had here!

Lizzer DD2 now booked in for the urinary track dye test thingy on 29 August so fingers crossed that will go well. DD1 also going for an ultrasound of her kidneys to check she doesn't have any probs too in the same area as has had 2 UTIs this year. Has your DS had any further scans recently?

Absolutely agree about the yummy-ness!! On the plane back yesterday I was taking DD2 down the aisle to change her nappy and we had to go quite slowly behind a flight attendant collecting rubbish and I swear 99% of the passengers looked at her an smiled! She is such an engaging wee thing, you just can't help it

cazzybabs · 10/08/2008 19:14

thingamajig - We were staying in Tywardreath, near Par. Am very jealous of you being able to go to the beach when ever you like.

we had a w/e at a weeding which was great as we took Evie and left the other 2 with grandparents

BouncingTurtle · 10/08/2008 22:55

Agghh possibility that ds has been exposed to chicken pox!!! Have started a thread in AIBU...

cazzybabs · 11/08/2008 10:36

OH BT don't worry - much better to get chicken pox young...the older dds have both had it before 18 months - they had about 4 spots and weren't ill at all.

BouncingTurtle · 11/08/2008 11:17

I'm not to bothere about us coming down with it - it's just that I've had to stop going to the baby groups this week in case we pass it on - and I was supposed to be locking up at Bumps and babies tomorrow, and DS has his settling in sessions at nursery next week! I think if we have got it, we will be symptomatic this week, so we should be ok.
We don't even know if dss definitely has it or not!
