geordieminx · 08/04/2008 20:26

I dont have any wrinkles cos I'm only 12

You would laugh i you saw me know - tracksuit as I have just been for a sunbed and cling film wrapped around my head as I have a colour on.... I look like a cross between Vicki Pollard and an extra from Dr Who!!!

liath · 08/04/2008 20:32

Evening everyone,

What a crap day, GMM, hope you're feeling better & The Destroyer is tucked up in bed .

NL, will keep my fingers crossed for the house situation.

WO, what a total bugger being backed into a corner like that with work, that's so shite for you .

SOL, bless - what a lovely thing for B to do. Hope you're feeling better.

Not a lot going on here, had a dreadful night last night so it was with sheer relief that i packed the pair of them off to bed at 7pm . Dd was in bed with me after getting a sore leg in the wee hours and was a total nightmare, awake half the night wriggling and trying to chat. When she got up this morning she said "Thank you for letting me sleep in your bed mummy, it was lovely". Harumph....

StealthPolarBear · 08/04/2008 20:42

sorry for not doing personals
T still not over the bug and is ill again at he moment

Hope everyone is OK

NorthernLurker · 08/04/2008 20:56

Liath - hope you have a better night

I am waiting for my cottacge pie to be ready - very hungry!!

elkiedee · 08/04/2008 21:45

Sorry to hear that SOL and SPB's T don't feel well, and that little Dippy no 4 isn't on her (or his!) way yet.

Pesha · 08/04/2008 21:46

Hi not caught up, been manic day.

have had 2 people round to look at my house. 1 lot I kind of know and pretty sure the woman whose house I like is not gonna want theirs but worth a try. The other lot I think I could be in with a chance, sounds very nice and I think they'll want mine as they want to be near to her mum and dad as he is ill and needs her help and they live about 30 secs from me. And if they want to live in this area they're not gonna get any bigger house or nicer area than here. Fingers crossed village house lady likes theirs! She is so picky though, she was going to look at house earlier, tried to ring the woman to say she was running late but no answer so turned up anyway but woman was out. But she said she met the neighbour with loads of screaming kids and so def not interested in moving there. So she wants a well decorated house that needs nothing doing with 3 good size bedrooms all big enough for double beds, off road parking, nice size garden, quiet, nice area with no children next door in the centre of town. These are COUNCIL houses shes looking at ffs.

And dont think I mentioned but easter sunday J crashed the lovely shiny new car Have just had confirmation from insurance company that its a total loss and they are trying to totally rip us off with the settlement offer So in between tidying the house and then re-tidying after dc messed it up I've been desperately searching internet for same models for sale and getting glass's and parker's and whatcar valuations. And making various phone calls to Lexus dealers and insurance guy and financial ombudsman. Insurance guy said the ombudsman set a maximum he was allowed to pay and he had to go from Glass's private retail price (despite offering me only the trade price to start with), ombudsman said thats crap! They dont set a max, he should pay dealer price and they recommend Parker's valuation rather than Glass's (Parkers being higher!). He said what I'd said was 'interesting' and is going to get on to head office!

Sorry for huge completely self-obsessed rant but needed to talk to someone and don't want to bore pants off rl people - you lot just don't have to read anymore if you get bored!!

OK off to try and catch up now although prob be time for bed by time I have!

And now my friend has just rung!

NorthernLurker · 08/04/2008 21:54

Oh no Pesha - what a disaster with the lovely car! Was J ok - none of the children with him - or you? The insurers are definately trying it on - go get 'em! good Luck with the house

elkiedee · 08/04/2008 21:56

You feeling stressed Pesha?

DP is home from work but he has to leave the house at about 6 am tomorrow to be in for 7. I'm never going to stay awake for work tomorrow.

and I'm excited because my mum gets home tonight.

Pesha · 08/04/2008 22:57

Elkie - how did you guess?! And to top it all off I think I'm getting ill again Had headache all day then started feeling feverish earlier and achey spine and things, took some tablets which worked but temp is now creeping up again Feel like I felt when I started getting flu, that was only a couple weeks ago, I cant get ill again!

Anyway - yay for your mum coming back tomorrow Elkie Hope you manage to get a good night so you can keep awake at work. Is there a stationery cupboard you can go and doze in...?!

NL - J was ok although bad back for few days. Was on his way here on his own luckily so none of us were with him. It was day after we split up and I'd just been quite arsey with him on the phone so think his mind wasn't quite as focused as should have been, add to that powerful rear wheel drive car hes not used and very wet roads next to a chuffing gert big ditch and it was a recipe for disaster really. Still all people ok so thats the main thing forced And thanks for good luck wishes. Noticed in my brief scan whilst on phone to friend that your house move seems to be all going as planned so far which is fab

Dippy - also saw your news re AF How are you feeling? Obviously not meant to be yet and you said you didnt really want a christmas baby didn't you, imagine the expense!!! You've got 1 in feb, 1 in april (obviously!), whens the other one's birthday? Sorry for being crap

PillockOfTheCommunity · 08/04/2008 22:58

Dippy - that sounds horrid! Will pray for recovery

Pesha - glad to hear you all ok and J ok now.

NorthernLurker · 08/04/2008 23:03

sorry - posted but not finished! Pesha - I really hope you aren't geting ill again - last thing you need isn' it! Go to bed with some vitamin C!

elkiedee · 08/04/2008 23:08

Actually, I'm quite lucky in that I share an office with one other person who's blind. So long as I wake up enough to get his work done and try and make myself useful if he's not keeping me busy (helping out with other work in the team, he's fine. The other side of that is that our office is rather stuffy and warm.

runnyhabbit · 08/04/2008 23:47

I have actually managed to read the thread, although I hope no-one is expecting personals

Panicked today when I realised that I hadn't sent any of the boys party invites out. And the party is a week Sunday. Lots of texting/calls/emails going on. I think most people knew when it was, and have known that the past few weeks have been hectic for us to say the least.

W is totally back on form and is doing everything at full speed. Its like he is making up time he was poorly.

Really should be in bed....

night all
x

Eddas · 09/04/2008 08:31

Well, I feel like crap tbh. My ear is getting worse. It really hurts now so when the doctors opens at 8.30 i'm goignt o ring for an appointment. I don't think it started off as an infection but i'll be shocked if it isn't now. Fingers crossed they can give me something to get rid of it as it's been a week now

DS is practising his walking all the time. he does cute little turns now. I still wouldn't take him outside walking IYKWIM but in the house he's on his feet all the time. And his sickness/relfex seems to be getting less
