NorthernLurker · 24/03/2008 22:03

hi oooggs - how are dd's eyes?

Sexonlegs · 24/03/2008 22:05

Blimey NL. Unbelievable thread!

Dh in a shocking mood having missed his flight. The atmosphere is pants. It's as if it is my fault!

Hey ho.

Off to bed in a mo. Supposed to be on a day off tomorrow, but have been called in to work on some stuff for my boss. Will have to see how K is tho.

Right, sweet dreams people. x

oooggs · 24/03/2008 22:08

getting better NL thank you - just read that thread

NorthernLurker · 24/03/2008 22:09

It's grim isn't it? Poor little mite - hope she does take her to a&e. I would.

at your dh - were you throwing yourself in front of him to stop him boarding the plane? No - didn't think so! Hope things are better tomorrow!

NorthernLurker · 24/03/2008 22:11

That's good to hear Oooggs

NorthernLurker · 24/03/2008 22:11

Good that she's better - not that you'd read the thread

Sexonlegs · 24/03/2008 22:13

I hope so too NL

Right, must get to bed.

Maveta · 25/03/2008 06:51

morning! at ellie We TOLD YOU! lol.

Octo forgot to say - the weather here has been colder than usual and a bit cloudy and windy but today so far the sun is shining and the sky is blue, haven't checked temperatures yet though. Why, are you coming to Spain??

My last week of part time work, only wednesday and friday left and then - dum dum DUUUUUM!

geordieminx · 25/03/2008 07:02

Have altered name slightly as I think someone might be snopping on me - not that there is anything to see really, infact at all - I just dont like it - rather thn confront the person in question I thought if I just changed my name slightly then when said person searched on my name they wouldnt find anything..but people would still know it was me IYSWIM?

Maveta - we are off to spain in 3 weeks - Lanzarote though so a wee distance from you - weather looks grand there at the moment 25!!!

StealthPolarBear · 25/03/2008 08:21

Morning everyone
at you DH missing the flight SOL
Well last night out of sheer desperation we let T cry himself to sleep in his cot. It took two miserable hours for him to finally sleep (this was after the hour I had done the usual rocking / feeding / patting etc)

Maveta · 25/03/2008 08:59

oh have fun gmm, yes the weather there is completely different! lol. How do you know someone is snooping? I always wonder how people know, do they make sly comments? I'd hate to know someone had been reading what I wrote without admitting it to me. I know this is public etc and loads of people we don't know read it but it just feels like an invasion of privacy if they know you and don't own up

SPB - T and N sound very similar in some ways. Very stubborn!!! Well I read this quote off Kellymom

"You are not a pacifier; you are a Mom. You are the sun, the moon, the earth, you are liquid love, you are warmth, you are security, you are comfort in the very deepest aspect of the meaning of comfort.... but you are not a pacifier!" -- Paula Yount

and it is really cheesy but was just when I was getting fed up of night feeds and feeling exactly like a dummy. Reading that made me feel like looking at it in a different light. In fact I have read a fair few things now about night weaning on kellymom and have decided we're going to hang on til at least a year, we're so close now it seems silly not to hang in there a bit longer.

Why would he not settle for you though? Was he overtired? It's so miserable when they are obviously tired but won't give in

StealthPolarBear · 25/03/2008 09:05

it's the not going in the cot thing again He settles fine at the beginning of the night, then used to go back after his next feed and would then want to be in with us at about 4/5am. Well 4/5am has been getting earlier and earlier and last night he was up at 1. Our bed is just not big enough to share all night - I wake up with a dead arm and cramp in my legs after a couple of hours.
He is in his new room though and there are no blinds, we might try moving him tonight.
Sorry for the rant, I am feeling like a crap mother this morning, seeing my baby crying for me and not understanding why I'm not going

Maveta · 25/03/2008 09:11

oh SPB - I totally sympathise. You know you aren't a crap mum but it is so hard to believe that when they look at you with their little tear stained faces.

I am so not one to advise on this seeing as we both have almost exactly the same difficulties!!

StealthPolarBear · 25/03/2008 09:14

I know - when I was posting on your night weaning thread recently I just kept thinking "blind leading the blind"
Maybe we should meet up and just stick them in the same cot for a night, then they can have howling competitions and we can know they're not alone!
GM(M), sorry you're having stalking problems, and it's not me this time (well if it is I have to say I've caught up with you, sorry). Like Maveta says I wondered how do you know, do they mention things in conversation and you think "hang on..."? Obviously don't reply if it's going to make things worse!

geordieminx · 25/03/2008 09:26

sorry you had a crap night spb. Re snooping, was on someones pc last week, typed in mn in the address bar, lots of threads came up, all ones that i had been on. . Its not the end of the world, i dont say anything on here that i wouldnt want anyone else to know, it was just a bit annoying, but rather than have a row i thought i would try changing name for a bit.

Doobydoo · 25/03/2008 09:36

oooggs · 25/03/2008 09:58

yes you are right dooby

Happy Birthday Leo - hi WCL how is the special one year old this morning?

sleeping here okish but - one wakes about 5am for a feed then goes back til 7.15am then other wakes at 6.15am for a feed and starts the day!!! so I get woken in the night and an early start then their sleeps are a bit out all day unless I force the issue in the car/pushchair.

anyway a question for you - do your children share rooms? especially those with 3 or more, caz, luce, dippy, octo, NL - what ages are they & how does it work?

AngeG · 25/03/2008 10:00

Morning no time to stop, got to go to work

Just wanted to say Happy 1st Birthday Leo.

Back later xx

Octothechildherder · 25/03/2008 10:02

GM - I spent ages trying to figure out why you had lost your coat and where the post was about it - then it clicked LOL

Dooby - ooooh a breath holder - tell dh just to blow on his face if he's worried.

Pillock ((waves)) - do you have a pic of sofaboy???

Maveta - no hols - just dreaming of sun

Loving the first year posts on the other thread - blubbed through phds!

Bramshott · 25/03/2008 10:05

Yes, it's Leo's birthday today - HAPPY BIRTHDAY LEO!! Hope you're having a good day WCL (what? you have a life and won't be spending all day on MN to celebrate?!)

Have a nice coffee this morning SOL, Ange and IDOC - sorry I can't join you.

Will post on birthday catchup thread when I have a moment. I have lost my free Monday to the bank hol, so when exactly I am going to get anything for O's birthday, I don't know. 4 of her little friends and their mums are coming over for tea on Thurs.

Pesha - really, really sorry to hear about you and DP.

Bugmum - I'm sure no-one was trying to leave you out. We love you popping in with updates (and I am still looking for your book but the selection in our mobile library is crap). Sorry to hear about DS1 and his assessments.

but of course - Eddas - we know you weren't trying to leave anyone out, just trying to be efficient (we need a spreadsheet with a formula - where x is the number of posts, and y is the number of months elapsed! Sadly what we also need is z - the number of lurks)!!

Octothechildherder · 25/03/2008 10:09

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LEO

StealthPolarBear · 25/03/2008 10:30

Oh grrr I promised myself I wouldn't forget the 25th

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LEO

Doobydoo · 25/03/2008 10:41

GOOD...I got it rightHAPPY BIRTHDAY LEOXXXX

Eddas · 25/03/2008 10:56

Happy birthday Leo

Thanks Bramshott, I was a bit narky and down the other day so got a little more annoyed than I normally would I didn't mean it personally to anyone. Which is why I sadi as much. I just thought that their are so many on the list we haven't seen in forever i'd shorten it. TBH I didn't even think about lurkers I guess as I haven't ever lurked for more than a few days I assume everyone else doens't either IYSWIM. Anyway as the thread title says onwards and upwards.

In eddas news, ds has gooey eyes so off to the doctors in a bit. Will also be talking to her about the sickness or reflux situation. It isn't getting any better. I'm now wondering if he has milk intolerance although he does sick up other things

I have also just signed up for the Race for Life on 18th May and will be going to my first weightwatchers meeting tomorrow so bring on the wieghtloss I want to be a yummy mummy

Right must be off to get ready for work really don't want to go
