Dippy - yes it does - and yes it is - I will have eaten all my fingers and toes with tension by the time we get in, if we get in.

CaptainDippy · 04/03/2008 07:40

Yippee!!

Morning all

NorthernLurker · 04/03/2008 07:44

Morning Dippy - well I've had better nights! B very feverish and restless - had her in bed with me and have no idea how often she was fretting - good job we're still b/feeding as that calmed her and at least got some fluid into her. She's had a bit of breakfast but is very drowsy and unhappy - with bright red cheeks! So I'm going to do the school run and nip into town - need to get something for my lunch I can eat one-handed as she cries when you put her down (yes, I am that soft) then we'll come home and hopefully have a nap. Big girls are cuddling her now - dd2 in particular is quite upset - they are missing their bouncy sister

CaptainDippy · 04/03/2008 07:47

Poor B, NL, amnd poor you too - hope you get to have a nice long nap later P is still asleep, bless her and DH has gone off to nursery with the older 2. He'll be away til Friday now so feeling a little and empty, iykwim!!?

NorthernLurker · 04/03/2008 07:54

Dippy - my dh is away till Friday too - thank goodness he was here last night to do the beginnings of the whales for dd1 for World Book Day - don't ask! I know what you mean - there are times when the house feels emptier than others aren't there?

CaptainDippy · 04/03/2008 08:06

Yes, NL, there is!

Oooooh, World Book Day - thank you for reminding me - I am suppose to do stuff for that too - eeeeek!

Tell me about the whales .....

StealthPolarBear · 04/03/2008 08:13

AngeG · 04/03/2008 09:32

Morning All

Sorry to all those with sickly babies. Hope they are all better soon. Izzy also has cough/cold sticky eyes etc.

NL - Hooray for the house, please can I have the email or maybe someone who's already had it could forward it to me? Glad the interview was ok.

Ellie - Good to see you back

Still feeling ill, my head is all swimmy and I feel sick most of the time...no I'm not pg!

Off to work in a sec, I don't want to go!

Pesha · 04/03/2008 09:49

Dippy - sorry P is not happy Is it just me or does she sleep an awful lot?! D wakes at 6 or 7, goes back to sleep around 11 or 12 for an hour or 2 and then awake til bedtime about 7 or 8.

NL - sorry B is so poorly House is lovely though

Hi SPB

Well I jst heard some slightly disturbing news/gossip. When we were out sat night we met a bloke who said he knew my friend because her DD is going out with his friend's ds. Anyway he seemed slightly drunk, all 'I think you're lovely', huggy, touchy etc. About 10 minutes later there was a fight then abit later a guy was wheeled out on a stretcher, still conscious and looking around but blood all down the side of his face. Apparently he was hit by a boxer from a nearby town. Guy we were talking is also apparently a boxer and was arrested soon after we saw him for fighting so seems likely it was him just a few minutes after chatting to us. And the worst part is that apparently the guy who got hit died in hospital yestrday I'm hoping its just rumours, well the guy being arrested is true but the rest could just be gossip, really hope the guy who got punched hasnt died

StealthPolarBear · 04/03/2008 09:52

Sounds like you had a lucky escape pesha
Need to get motivated...

AngeG · 04/03/2008 09:54

Oh Pesha that's terrible.

Izzy sleeps quite a lot still Pesha. Gets up about 7.30am goes back to sleep 2-3 hours later, sleeps for 2-4 hours, then sometimes another sleep about 5pm for an hour or so and then bed at 8pm!

CaptainDippy · 04/03/2008 09:58

Roughy the same as Ange here ..... P wakes up (or is woken up) about 7.30am; then goes back to bed for 2-3 hours at 10am-ish; then she usually has a nap about 3pm for an hour-ish and then bed at 7pm.

I hope it is not true either, Pesha

StealthPolarBear · 04/03/2008 09:59

at all the sleep!!

PhDlifeNeedsaNewLife · 04/03/2008 10:06

right, who here wants another one same age? 6 teeth, lots of hair, seriously adorable smile. currently wearing grubby vest covered in spat-out calpol and pretending "nap" means "climb on the bedguard" or possibly "hang off mama's leg/shirt/hair whingeing loudly" - anything other than the nap he rather desperately needs. mama had 8hrs of this yesterday and thinks today she deserves a spa-break. [calpol-matted-hair tearing]

Bramshott · 04/03/2008 10:08

Morning all. Well actually my day got better yesterday - refused to get stressed and just decided I would get everywhere as quickly as I sanely could. Took jam sandwiches for DDs during parents eve, and they mostly behaved. It was lovely to see that DD1's writing etc is really coming on, although her teacher said she seems very tired in the mornings - which is probably down to our ongoing battle over bedtimes . Really must try to sort it if it's affecting her at school. I had been quite good about not putting her story CD etc on since I posted here about it, but I have slipped recently.

Arm is kind of okay. I have been trying to lift O with my other arm when I can, and to put her down more (which she is not impressed with!). Yes, maybe I need a sling Pesha - I had a Babybjorn but she got too big for that, and I've never had any other sort. I will ponder it - trouble is, if I get one, she will undoubtedly start to walk!

Caz - hope your tests arrive and set your mind at rest.

NL - great news about the house. Fingers crossed for a smooth process. The too-expensive house in our road has a sold sign up now, so hopefully some nice people (although clearly with more money than sense) have bought it.

Ange - hope you feel better soon.

Elkie - well done for surviving your first day back at work!

Sympathy to all those with sicky babies (which seems to be most of us ). We are getting off lightly here with only gunky eyes (still!) and snotty nose.

CaptainDippy · 04/03/2008 10:15

Sorry SPB

CaptainDippy · 04/03/2008 10:18

Glad parent's evening was ok, Bramshott and that N's writing is coming on nicely - hoping you can crack bedtimes, don't feel guilty thoguh - you are doing everything you can - We're tearing our hair out trying to work out how to stop DD1 getting up so early cos she is a grumpy, moodly little wotist most of the day - grrrr!

LOL @ PHDlife

StealthPolarBear · 04/03/2008 10:29

Don't apologise Dippy, I thought 2 hours during the day was pretty good! It's the best he's ever done (apart from as a newborn) so it's all I know!
Anyway I don't have other DCs to contend with.

cazboldy · 04/03/2008 10:48

Runny - that's reassuring - thank you

Elkie - glad your first day back went well

Lovely to see you back Ellie - we missed you

Great news about the house NL I will test, when the tests get here, but only to make sure, am pretty sure I am not - Runny reassured me I don't feel pg and the coil is definitely still there (sorry tmi )

Bramshott - glad your parents evening went well. I jave the second part of mine tonight!

Pesha - hope that it is just rumours

SOL - thanks for your good wishes, but James has been refused a place at the school I am going to appeal though, as it would mean all of them moving schools, as I can't be in 2 places at once! FFS we are actually ON the line of the border for the catchment area!

Hi to Oooggs, Ange, SPB, and all of you other lovely ladies

PhDlifeNeedsaNewLife · 04/03/2008 10:48

Is that a no, then, Dippy?
