just popped in to wish NL the very best of luck at the interview.

Katy - it didn't last, Jack up alot in the night - can't win - but also don't get used to good nights like sol

just started raining - great timing as walking in a mo to toddlers

StealthPolarBear · 03/03/2008 09:39

Oh yes I forgot it was March now, good luck elkie!
So no-one is worried I'm an alkie?? Just for the record I'm going to the recycling place, there was one glass left in a bottle from the other day so have poured it and clingfilmed it for tonight

Hi all. I have just got off the phone with one of my friends (I work with her) and she tells me that the shit has hit the fan because of me taking a few hours off on Friday. I am just waiting for my manager to call me and have a go, will be going off sick for a few weeks if she does, as work is just pissing me off at the moment. Am seriously thinking that maybe it is time to look for something else and move on. Am sick of being treated like a bloody juvenille who has been naughty. I wouldn't mind but I have worked there for years, am relatively senior, and very rarely take time off for anything. Anyway, ho hum.

SOL, your day sounded lovely. Glad you enjoyed yourself You have a very thoughtful dh.

NL, lots of luck for this morning, really hope it goes well for you And pants to your dh being away in London, I would be miffed about that too. Dh is going away to France for a week next month and I am absolutely dreading it.

GMM, glad your dp gave you a lovely first mother's day

Oooggs, sorry your day wasn't so good, hope next Sunday is better xxx

Pesha, hope you get D's eyes sorted out. Bless him, I am just fed up of F being poorly.

NorthernLurker · 03/03/2008 09:41

I thought you were joking! Clingfilm sounds ok - just don't go getting any ideas!

StealthPolarBear · 03/03/2008 09:44

mammyjo that's just ridiculous - you arranged cover! What exactly is their problem? Maybe overreacting but consider what you say - maybe ask for a formal meeting with a representative and HR person if you think they're going to continue being arses petty.
NL, didn't think you'd be back, glad your DD is OK, hopefully just a one off, something disagreed with her! It felt very odd to be pouring wine at 9am but TBH I can't think of anything I'd rather drink less at the moment, urgh!

NorthernLurker · 03/03/2008 09:50

SPB - I'm trying to relax pre interview - we live very close to work so my travelling time will be very short!

Mammyjo - x posted with you - am totally horrified at your experience - this is what pisses me off about working in the NHS - you work jolly hard, shouldering all the crap that is thrust at you - but when you need soemthing back - there just isn't the corporate imagination to give it to you!

StealthPolarBear · 03/03/2008 09:52

Yes, no flexibility or common sense! She arranged cover ffs didn't pull a sickie, what exactly is the problem??

Pesha · 03/03/2008 10:18

Quick question - if I'm writing a letter to dear sir/madam (applying for a job and not been given a name) its yours faithfully isnt it?! or is it sincerely? Or something else??

I can never remember the right endings!

cazboldy · 03/03/2008 10:19

Good luck NL!

I am fed up. We were supposed to find out today if ds1 has gotten into the high school we want him to go to, but postman has just been, and no letter

geordiemacminx · 03/03/2008 10:21

faithfully if not addressed to a named person

cazboldy · 03/03/2008 10:22

actually, I was a bit hasty. I just looked on the website, and it says that the letters will be sent by first class post today. Fingers crossed for him please ladies!

Pesha · 03/03/2008 10:22

And if I'm emailing it presumably I send my cv as an attachment and the email itself as my cover letter?!

[clueless]

Pesha · 03/03/2008 10:22

Thank you gmm thats what I thought

mammyjo · 03/03/2008 10:22

It actually makes me wish that I had been dishonest and gone off sick. That way no-one could have said a bloody word to me.

cazboldy · 03/03/2008 10:23

sorry Pesha, I have no idea! I would put sincerely

mammyjo · 03/03/2008 10:23

caz, hope you get good news

cazboldy · 03/03/2008 10:23

Poor MJ

Eddas · 03/03/2008 10:24

you don't put the s's together as in if dear sir it's not sincerely but faithfully! That's how I remember it anyway

cazboldy · 03/03/2008 10:24

thanks - I would say that to them MJ - FGS you tried to do the right thing!

mammyjo · 03/03/2008 10:24

Pesha, yes, use the email as the covering letter then attach the CV. Think that is the best way to do it.

Eddas · 03/03/2008 10:25

sorry just randomly posted that without regard for any other posts. I often read the thread and think i've posted but haven't does anyone else do that or is it just me and my adled brain

mammyjo · 03/03/2008 10:27

I did try to do the right thing, if I hadn't been able to cover the hours with someone else then I wouldn't have gone (hard as that would have been). They just piss me off. The thing that is bugging me is the fact that I know I have been the topic of heated discussion this morning, but none of them have actually bothered to speak to me about it

cazboldy · 03/03/2008 10:27

Quick question for all you ladies with coils in......

I was due on 5 days ago now, and so far nothing has happened. When I had my coil fitted, they said you should do a pg test immediately if your period was late, but before I had Charlie I had pcos and was very irregular,so it might be that again (although I do hope not)

What would you all do?????

mammyjo · 03/03/2008 10:27

Eddas, I remember it by the "s" thing aswell

Pesha · 03/03/2008 10:28

Thank you Thank you

Will just get this sent and then read thread and post properly!

And Eddas - yes I do do that!
