Hi folks!

Oooggs, oh dear, poor dh and you. Hope you get a well deserved break soon.

CD, did your day get any beter?? I hope so.

MJ, glad F is better albeit a smelly bum!!

Caz, sounds like you have had some lovely treats.

NL, hope your day with your girlies has been good.

Had a lovely day. We went to the Isle of Wight! It was where we went for our first holiday as a 4 Dh had booked lunch at a pub there. Bless him.

Right, need to sort out stuff, so back later.

Love to everyone.

NorthernLurker · 02/03/2008 18:41

SOL - how lovely! No wonder you had to leave early

Well my dh has come home (excellent), he is feeding the baby and doing everything basically so I can prep for the wretched interview (excellent) and he has infomed me that although he has tomorrow off he will then be working all week in London - for the next three weeks. (Very much not excellent) Bless him - he thought he'd told me - he's very apologetic. I'm a bit disappointed because I thought he would be around a bit more this week - don't mind doing stuff myself but I hadn't expected to need to Oh well onwards and upwards!

geordiemacminx · 02/03/2008 18:52

Hey ladies;

Pleased everyone has had a lovely day. - CD - Hope things are better for you now.

I have had a fa day - really special first mothers day - breakfast in bed, a long lie in, lunch at a 2AA rosette castle and then shopping for an eternity ring as dp decided that was what he would like to buy me.

C has been a wee star, even though he still has a sticky eye and a snotty nose.

Really couldnt have asked for a nicer day!

elkiedee · 02/03/2008 18:57

Aah gmm

NL, best of luck for the interview tomorrow, but dh being away for 3 weeks and no warning doesn't sound great. Will he be home at the weekends or is that a 3 week period?

NorthernLurker · 02/03/2008 19:09

he'll be home at the weekends - would have been driven to distraction if it was otherwise!

NorthernLurker · 02/03/2008 19:10

ooooooh eternity ring - how swish and very well deserved!

oooggs · 02/03/2008 19:37

lovely gmm - can't wait to see photos - did you choose one today?

nl - away for 3 weeks aaaarrrrrrggggghhhhhhh

sol - Isle of Wight - how lovely

well dh spent all day in bed, so at 2pm (after having the children on my own) I went to the park with friend & baby, home by 4pm and dh was well enough and had gone to work - card not finished or given, present not wrapped or given .

My parnets came rond and I fed them tea and they entertained the boys while I put dd to bed. So all in all not so good a day. He is doing it next weekend instead (hope for you yet dippy) and I know he is working to save for our loft conversion so I can't complain too much.

CaptainDippy · 02/03/2008 19:42

{{{{oooggs}}}} Hope it is a fab one for you next weekend sweetie

GMM ..... oooooh an eternity ring!! You must tell all when you get it ......

Right, I am going to go and console myself with a big hot choc in front of some crap on TV ......

Sexonlegs · 02/03/2008 19:46

Oh GMM, how lovely!!!

Oooggs, oh dear! Hope you have another good night though

NL, grrr at your dh being away for 3 weeks. Good luck for tomorrow.

Dh off to Dublin again tomorrow and back later Tuesday night - boo hiss. At least it isn't 3 weeks though.

Right, in dire need of a cuppa and possibly a flake, so see you later.

Ooops, a double entry - phnar phnar!

Pesha · 02/03/2008 20:55

Lol SOL! Dp was very excited confused when he first saw all the 'dp's on mumsnet, had to explain it was not what he thought!!

GMM - glad you had such a lovely day, sounds like your dh is making up for some of his previous crapness now?! Very ---- pleased for you!

Dippy - sorry your dp was so crap and you were so this morning - do you want to talk/rant/moan/bitch/share at all? We're all here for you if you do

Sol - your day sounds lovely too

Oooggs - sorry your day was not so good, hope dh makes it up to you big time next weekend.

Mammyjo - Glad F is picking up now.

I did get my breakfast in bed this morning (after buying everything I wanted myself yesterday!) although it was at half 8 which was a little bit earlier than I would have liked! But have done more stuff today than I normally would on a Sunday - dishwasher, washing, blitzed kitchen, made choc brazils with kids and finished off my not quite ruined truffles, tidied lounge... But did get an afternoon nap while D slept (he slept for 3 hours!!) and had domino's for tea as we had a 50% off voucher [fat cow]

D's eyes are still really bad, both eyes very red and puffy and constant stream of gunk Will take him drs tomorrow. Seems fine in himself though although I think the 3 hour nap was down to him being poorly as its never happened before.

The fire yesterday was the shed belonging to people opposite. I heard lots of banging and at first thought it was kids letting off bangers but turned out to be various things exploding in her shed huge flames and clouds of smoke billowing out. And the woman after several minutes of it burning fiercely and neighbours calling firebrigade, came out her house to have a look then went back in with her kids and stayed in the house! Police came and ushered her and her 4 kids out onto the street. The shed is only about 6 foot from her house and bits were exploding so could easily have caught house on fire, coldnt believe she just went back in with all her kids Anyway all that distracted me from truffles and they ended up splitting and all the fat came out They still taste delish though just very rich and dense so 1 is all you need. Add to that the fact that it was all the fat that seperated out then it prob a good thing, great diet chocs!!

DC made gorgeous boxes yesterday to put chocs in, I bought a couple scrapbooking kits from the works for £4 that had perfect size card for boxes and loads of bits for decorating, even Nathan managed to make beautiful looking boxes! And my fudge did work very well so was generally a success and a lot of fun for us all and both grandmas very pleased

Although I'm still not sure why it was me doing all the work I think dp managed to write in the card for his mum that I chose DD had made me a beautiful card at school but Nathan hadnt, little bit and that the school didnt do anything with them for Mother's day but ne'ermind eh!

Think I should shut up now, can you tell I'm all alone and bored with noone to talk to

Pesha · 02/03/2008 20:56

Had no idea how long that was, sorry

Pesha · 02/03/2008 20:59

GMM - just read that back and hope you dont take it the wrong way, not trying to say you have a crap dp - anymore than the rest of us do - just I remember how much he upset you before and its lovely to see him making you so happy now iyswim?!

geordiemacminx · 02/03/2008 21:02

Its ok Pesha I know what you meant - you are right!!!

Sexonlegs · 02/03/2008 21:15

Where is everyone tonight???

Pesha, I love your posts - they are so chatty and informative!
Poor D's eyes.Definitey sounds like a trip to the docs tomorrow. K's eyes have taken an age to clear up, but I think that is becase we are a bit crap at putting the drops in. She hates them and I hate upsetting her!

Dh off to the pub in a mo, so might head to bed. Am shattered.Working tomorrow too.

elkiedee · 02/03/2008 21:20

Thanks for long post Pesha, I really enjoyed reading it. Sounds like a bit of a drama over the road. Glad her shed isn't nearer your house for your sake.

CD, thanks for lovely message earlier. I've cried with tiredness several times today and I've not even gone back to work. Thought we were visiting friends nearby just a short visit but the whole arrangement was cancelled, and it was that point in the afternoon about 4 pm when I just feel at my most tired and low. Did force myself to do some vacuuming though and dp cleaned the kitchen and bathroom floors and put some of his crap away a little less visibly.

Watching Two Pints but thinking I don't find this series quite as funny as the previous ones. Despite the current conversation about childbirth.

runnyhabbit · 02/03/2008 21:26

Evening all

Nothing much to report here. Had lovely handmade cards from the boys. Pleasant enough day, nothing really out of the ordinary. Think the nice weather helped though And dh got some odd jobs done around the house. I've just pottered

Well dh working tonight, so I'm going to sort the boys stuff out for tomorrow and head off to bed

sweet dreams
x

Pesha · 02/03/2008 21:37

GMM - glad I didnt offend you Its so hard in writing to get things across how you mean them, I always worry people might take what i say the wrong way!
SOL and Elkie - thanks for that, I always think I waffle on too much and must just bore everyone silly! Nice to know its not everyone I bore!!

And I know what you mean about putting drops in SOL - I'm rubbish at that sort of thing, I either forget or put it off as its such a faff and if they're happy I hate to then upset tham and make them grumpy. And if they're grumpy I dont like to make it worse!!

Hi Runny

Sexonlegs · 02/03/2008 21:41

Hi Runny

Right, am off to bed. Gong to pretend to be asleep so dh doesn't get any ideas when he gets in from the pub! I so can't be arsed !

Night gorgeous mummies everywhere. xx

NorthernLurker · 03/03/2008 00:23

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh!

Dd1 has just got up for the loo - very runny, very smelly green poo! She has not been sick - yet. I'm still struggling with my interview prep - bit freaked out that I can't seem to remember anything - my baby has eaten my brain!! So now I have a night of runny poo - and in an older child it goes everywhere believe me! Dh and I were going to do something nice tomorrow after the blasted interview and now we won't be able to because she will doubtless be unfit for school. She gets really, really upset by this sort of thing - she had a tummy bug last Easter and she was just so upset by it. I could cry

Sexonlegs · 03/03/2008 07:37

Morning.

NL, oh no, poor dd1 and you. How is she now?
Hope the interview goes ok x

How is everyone else.

I am knackered. I went to bed at 10.00 but woke at 11.00 when dh came back. B shouted out at about 2.00 as her duvet had come off a bit, dh got up for a wee about 4 ish and then B shouted out again at 6.15 which woke K who then started coughing! They were both ignored and I stuck cotton wool in my ears and managed to doze untl 6.45!

So, not bad compared to many, but I am not used to it!!

Off to work today, so need to get on. Hope everyone is ok and you all have a lovely day. x

StealthPolarBear · 03/03/2008 08:24

morning everyone
NL, how is your dd today? GOOD LUCK if you log on before 11.
oooggs that all 3 slept through on the night before mothers day
Glad everyone who had good days enjoyed them - GMM we want pictures of the ring
elkie at crying with tiredness
Had a pretty crap day myself as was very tired, T and I went to mum's and went to see Grandma (Alzheimer's, in a care home) she was much worse than usual DH stayed here to decorate. But T slept really well last night (well, in comparison) so that must have been his present to me!
Dippy, what is happening? Thank you for that text, that was lovely, but worried about you!

StealthPolarBear · 03/03/2008 09:00

Have just poured myself the first glass of wine of the day

NorthernLurker · 03/03/2008 09:16

Can you make mine a double vodka SPB?

Thanks SPB and SOL - well something of a miracle here - no further problems for dd1 and she's gone off to school as usual and B slept all night!!! So that's all good - but am feeling very nervous

Elkie - is it you first day back today? Really hope you get on well and enjoy it a bit.

Pesha - what a gripping story - I can't believe they stayed in the house whilst paint tins etc were exploding!

SPB - sorry your Grandma was so poorly - that must be very hard to see
