the stalker/stalkee relationship is reversed!

NorthernLurker · 01/03/2008 21:50

11am - at least I'll get it over with nice and early! Dh has got the day off hanfily enough so he's got B and then we are going to the farm shop for lovely food and a nice lunch! I am a bit stressed by it tbh as I keep trying to do bits of prep but it's so much harder when you've not been at work for a while as you're not in the groove as it were.

NorthernLurker · 01/03/2008 21:51

Oooggs - hope you get a good night tonight!
Mammyjo - so pleased you got to go [smile}

StealthPolarBear · 01/03/2008 21:51

I know NL DH asked me something from my area of expertise (small as it is!) the other day, it was very simple and basic and it took me ages to figure it out, plus my brain hurt afterwards!

NorthernLurker · 01/03/2008 21:59

you know when you put an enquiry into a computer and it makes a lot of noise and struggle to bring up the answer - that's my brain - the files are there but you can't get them to load!

StealthPolarBear · 01/03/2008 22:02

And in your day it would have all come out on ticker tape!
(Oh sorry, have we moved on from teasing NL about her age?)

NorthernLurker · 01/03/2008 22:04

(nl sticks tongue out at spb)

NorthernLurker · 01/03/2008 22:17

I'm so knackered this week I think I may have forgotten to mention here that we've sold our house! To a chain free, non mortgage requiring cash buyer - just hoping he doesn't change his mind!

StealthPolarBear · 01/03/2008 22:27

No no, you did mention that NL - it's fantastic news - aren't you waiting to see if your offer is accepted? When do you hear?

NorthernLurker · 01/03/2008 22:31

See it's my age I forget things!

Well we have accepted the offer on ours and are still waiting to hear if the vendors of the house we like fancy dumping their existing buyers and switching to us. I suppose we would be gazumping them were it not for the fact that they have obviously been so slow they've bought it on themselves. It's been a couple of days now - which really makes me think that our offer is being used to threaten the buyers to get a move on. I'm ok with that - it would be great to buy it but not an unbearable tragedy if we don't get it. I'm sure they're will be another house - really, really want to hang onto our buyer though. It would be so good just to have achieved part one of our move!

StealthPolarBear · 01/03/2008 22:34

yeah, and if you sell you will be in a fantastic position to buy again!

NorthernLurker · 01/03/2008 22:35

I know I definately haven't mentioned this 'cos I only thought of it today: my big girls are away at grandmas 31st March -4th April so B and I will be very much free agents. Does anyone living in the vicinity of the East Coast Main Line fancy a meet up? I can 'host' here in york or could train up to Newcastle maybe? Any takers?

Pesha · 02/03/2008 02:36

Hello Not caught up - got persuaded by dp and friend to go out for a couple of drinks and ended up staying out all night DP not impressed! Was drinking from 8 till half 1 though and dont feel remotely tipsy Not sure whats happened to me!!

Just had yummy cheesey chips while reading spb's thread (boys deffo hav way less choice of clothes than girls and I shop for both so am unbiased!) and now off to bed, if dp lets me in

Back tomorrow to tell you all about the shed fire (not mine!) that made me split my truffles!

CaptainDippy · 02/03/2008 07:08

Wish I live closer, NL - I'd come!!

I am sat here in tears Things are tough in DippyLand and although I try and push them to one side just "make do and get on"; I am in completely stuck and unhappy. Sorry. It is just hard. Sorry.

StealthPolarBear · 02/03/2008 08:04

Morning Dippy, what's up? Is it just life in general? What could make life easier, if anything?

StealthPolarBear · 02/03/2008 08:05

feeling ill this morning, no sleep and a sore throat Happy mothers' day everyone!

Sexonlegs · 02/03/2008 08:25

Morning.

Dippy, I am so sorry you are so unhappy. I wish there was something I could do. Is there anything?

SPB, hope you feel better soon.

NL, fab news about the house sale

All fab here today I have to say - not something I say often.

Both girls on good form, and both presented me with cards. B had done a gorgeous one at school, and dh had done with K - her handprint - brought a tear to my eye. Dh has also told me we need to be ready to leave the house at 9.30 I am all excited/nervous!

Hope everyone has a very Happy Mothers' Day. Lots of love xx

CaptainDippy · 02/03/2008 08:28

...and oh yes, he forgot

NorthernLurker · 02/03/2008 09:10

Oh Dippy - here have a {{{{Hug}}}}! I have to go get dd1 from her sleepover and then go to church (where I'm doing some of the prayers today as it's Mothering Sunday - gulp) but I'll be back later. Is it running around after 3 little people or matters financial or dh being dhlike? Or all three? Don't say if you'd rather not though - will be praying for you.

Pesha - I want to hear about the fire!

SOL - so glad you're having a lovely day - how exciting!

SPB - no sleep - you poor thing - hope things improve later - can dh take T out so you can nap?

elkiedee · 02/03/2008 09:52

CD, really sorry things are tough.

SPB, sorry you've had no sleep.

D woke at 11.45 but went back to sleep ok with a bottle of milk, but then woke up early again this morning - I woke at 6 am but dp thinks he woke earlier - and has been wide awake ever since. He's due a nap and dp's taken him out but he's so bouncy I'm not sure it will work, still at least he seems happy.

weeonion · 02/03/2008 11:15

Dippy - so sorry things are so tough for you atm

Pesha - shed fire? sounds dramatic!

NL - I wish I lived closer, I would come. Well done on the sale of your house. and good luck in church later - are you nervous?

mammyjo · 02/03/2008 15:12

Hi all Hope everyone is having a good day. So sorry that your dh forgot dippy Hoping that he is strung up via something uncomfortable as I type this!

NL, fab news about the house. If I lived closer I would come, but Newcastle is a little bit of a trek from South Wales!

SOL, how exciting! Hope you are having a brilliant day F is much brighter, still not back to normal, but not so pale and definitely happier in herself. She still has a very smelly bottom, but is eating much more normally now so I am calmer!

NorthernLurker · 02/03/2008 15:27

Hi mmayjo - glad to hear F is better
