I am about to start an AIBU thread - will link here so you can all join in and back me up when I get slated (especially mums of boy babies - I need you!!)

StealthPolarBear · 01/03/2008 17:38

well, am I? Am I??

mammyjo · 01/03/2008 17:44

Hello! Quickly popping in to say that I managed to get to ds's mother's day assembly!! It was looking very unlikely on Thursday, then one of the senior nurses suggested that I called in a favour from one of the girls who was on annual leave. I would never normally do that, but know her very well and have worked with her for a very long time so I called her. Bless her, she agreed to come in and cover for me! I was so very grateful and bought her a box of chocs to give her when I got to work.
Ds was fab and kept waving and blowing me kisses! I was so glad that I got to go, and it was so lovely, brought a tear to my eye!

Havent caught up at all, but just wanted to pop in and tell you that little bit of happy news!

liath · 01/03/2008 17:51

Aw, that's lovely news Mammyjo!

CaptainDippy · 01/03/2008 17:52

Awwww, MJ - glad you made it, sounds lovely!

of SOl's lie-in....

How's everyone today??

Will be praying for your interview Monday, NL. xx

StealthPolarBear · 01/03/2008 17:55

Fantastic MJ!

elkiedee · 01/03/2008 18:10

That's lovely mammyjo, glad she was able to help.

We went to the NCT sale today, walked there and met up with my dad en route. D got his first ride on a swing which he really seemed to enjoy. We didn't buy a huge amount, a book, a jacket, a couple of toys and some nice cake, but one of the toys was something I've been wanting for a while - D and other babies always honed in on a similar one at Jolly Babies - there are levers and buttons behind which animals are hidden and they pop out.

StealthPolarBear · 01/03/2008 18:13

sounds like a successful trip!
My quest for a play tunnel is still unsuccessful

SOL, no, I'm sure it's not daylight - our room's pretty dark with the curtains closed and on days when we have to get up whether or not D does he often sleeps on for an hour or so.

CaptainDippy · 01/03/2008 18:17

ELC do great play tunnels, SPB - and they are not that expensive.....

mammyjo · 01/03/2008 18:47

Yep, ELC are fab! You can order online too which is much easier IMO!

oooggs · 01/03/2008 19:43

mammyjo - so pleased you made it to see ds in action

thank you sol & NL and now I didn't give him 10ml at a time

Jack eventually settled and slept in travel cot in with us until 5am, then slept in with me till Erin (she is a star at sleeping through) woke at 7am. I was in bed with James 2am - 5am (which is when I heard Jack)

maybe I'll get a better night tonight and some rest tomorrow

katy - we have a tunnel from ELC and a set from Asda (tunnel & castle) and a set from Lidl (tee pee, dome & tunnel)

runny - wheres the photos of the completed bathroom?

CaptainDippy · 01/03/2008 20:29

Yes, runny - where are the pics (complete with ducks!! )

DH and I are having pizza .... yummy! Doesn't make up for the fact I am pretty much, 100% sure he hasn't remembered what day it is tomorrow.

WestCountryLass · 01/03/2008 20:46

Hiya, and hos is everyone? We are MUCH better here, thank God!

Took Leo and DD swimming today and he was like a little limpet, clinging on for dear life. He is not quite as into swimming as the other two who are mad for it.

I've booked the hall and the bouncy castle and ball pit thing for his birthday, i've got to print the invites off this weekend. My baby will be 1 in less than a month - waaahhhhh

Sexonlegs · 01/03/2008 21:11

Evening all.

Oooggs, how is Jack now? Has he been sick again? I hope not and that you get the best sleep EVER!!!

Hi WCL, glad you are all better. Bless L and his swimming

CD, hope dh hasn't forgotten Mothers Day - he will have us lot to answer to!

MJ, lovely to see you, and so glad you got to ds's assembly. How is F?

All ok here. Had a curry and watching TV - what more could a girl ask for???

StealthPolarBear · 01/03/2008 21:12

I know WCL, I was thinking earlier that I can't believe the first of our April babies is one this month!

StealthPolarBear · 01/03/2008 21:13

Thanks for all the play tunnel recommedations, I'll have to have a look in the ELC next time I'm down.

Sexonlegs · 01/03/2008 21:24

SPB, look at ebay under elc tunnel - there are a few on the go there.

Sexonlegs · 01/03/2008 21:27

Also, just looking up pop up tunnel brings up a few things.

StealthPolarBear · 01/03/2008 21:36

excellent thanks sol, I was looking for play tunnel before and not much came up (apart from for ferrets!)

NorthernLurker · 01/03/2008 21:39

ugh am knackered! Dd1 safely at sleepover, dd2 in bed, dd3 in cot. After we dropped off Miranda we went into town and had tea at Caffe Uno - very nice - B was very good and dealt most competently with some ciabatta! Then we walked home stopping at the shop on the way home for milk because yesterday I bought some and forgot to put it in the fridge! Anyway got out the shop and 2 seconds up the road when we realise we've lost one of B' boots - so back to the shop where dd2 found it. OUt the shop and a bit further up the road we notice one of her mittens is missing!!! Back to the shop and once again dd2 finds it - good job I had her with me - B was in the front carrier so I can't bend down!

StealthPolarBear · 01/03/2008 21:42

Have bid on 2! The crocodile ones are so cute!

StealthPolarBear · 01/03/2008 21:43

You sound stressed NL!
What time's your interview on Monday?

geordiemacminx · 01/03/2008 21:48

SPB - I've jut been looking at tunnels and toy cars on ebay - infact I know which one you are bidding on
