Hi Elkie. They were just fairy cakes (from a packet!!!))) I haven't actually had one! How is D tonight? Settled I hope. You seem to have had a run of shity nights.

elkiedee · 17/02/2008 21:35

D is currently asleep but who knows how long that will last? Last night was a really terrible night after a couple of relatively good weeks. Friday night he slept well but we had to get up early on Saturday morning because dp had to start work earlier than normal.

geordiemacminx · 17/02/2008 21:57

Elikie - is there no way you can stay in bed and catch up on sleep even if dp has to go to work - could even take D with you? I still go back to bed with C during the week once dp has gone off to work - usually from 8.30 for a good hour or so - find it fills the day in a bit too, rather than being up and ready to go at 9?

Sometimes if C wakes up at a crazy time instead of battling with him I take him downstairs and just let him play with his toys/watch baby tv, find it wears him out quite quickly.

Pesha · 18/02/2008 07:35

Morning [forced, tired ]

D woke up just before 6 doesn't he know its half term?!?!

StealthPolarBear · 18/02/2008 07:53

morning

CaptainDippy · 18/02/2008 09:47

Morning!

Awwww, how lovely of your parents, MJ - Perhaps a plant would be better as then it will last longer Something pretty for their garden for the Spring perhaps!!?

DD2 and 3 both very poorly P's spots are horrific and she has got some on her tongue now too Don't know what is wrong with DD2 - she is all limp and lethargic and wanting to huggle and sleep DD1 is being a total pita - I do feel for her as obviously the other 2 are getting all my time and attention; but she is playing on it and I honestly don't think I can take a whole day of her moaning and whinging A friend's DD has taken her out for the morning, but no idea what I am going to do this pm - other than go mad. I am worried too as DD1 did exactly what DD2 is doing after she had the Pox and it culminated in Pneumonia and a week's hospital stay

Argh!!

Be nice to me ladies....

(NL - I didn't want two middle names and DH did so we went for the hyphen - so she now has one initial, but 2 middle names iyswim I was very tired, it seemed logical at the time )

PillockOfTheCommunity · 18/02/2008 09:58

Hi everyone
Was half asleep when I first posted, but awake now.
Dippy, your poor girls
MJ, that sounds lovely. They wouldn't have done it if they hadn't wanted to - bring them something nice back!
SOL - I know how you feel, lovely isn't it. I love it when T falls asleep in my arms, it's the only time he's really still enough for a cuddle!
elkie, hope your nights get better soon, you sound very stressed

elkiedee · 18/02/2008 10:18

gmm, yes, I could stay in bed but I like to get up, bath, hair wash, get dressed before dp leaves the house. I had a lie the first morning of a week at my aunt's while dp went to work, and I just found the day really difficult.

I have gone back to bed while D's having a nap, but at the moment they often don't last long. And I want to maintain a routine now so I can switch into the new one when back at work, only 2 weeks left now.

He fell asleep in his highchair this morning, but I expect to hear him any minute.

elkiedee · 18/02/2008 10:26

Dippy, so sorry to hear that your babies are so poorly and miserable. Re DD2, can you seek medical advice now given what happened with DD1?

Last night wasn't great, but a lot better than the night before - D was awake from about 10.30 till 1, or it might have been later, but then slept until 7. He woke up fairly happy and playful for a while, then went into prenap grizzle and pushed away breakfast before falling asleep in his chair. I wish I'd had a camera when I took him to change his nappy in the bathroom, after I'd done he wrappped himself in half a roll of toilet paper. Do you think Andrex would like a new puppy for their ads? It did make me laugh.

CaptainDippy · 18/02/2008 10:33

Not sure Elkie - it's just a nightmare - wish someone could come and help me!!

StealthPolarBear · 18/02/2008 10:47

call and ask them elkie, that sounds so cute!
Poor Dippy have you got anyone you can ask to come and help? Could your friends have DD1 for a little longer?

oooggs · 18/02/2008 10:58

morning - blimey I didn't realise how much time in the evening (especially) I spent on mumsnet. I broke the pc at teatime yesterday and was lost without it.

DS2 had a melt down/hissy fit at 9.45pm and I could have down with someone online support [bugger].

DH has fixed it now [bless him]

so Pesha - that is why I was quiet, dh was at work and I had to watch tv

runny - no news yet?

mammyjo - thats great

poor girls dippy

sol - you mean there are ways of making cakes without packets

oooggs · 18/02/2008 10:58

hi katy - how was T last night?

CaptainDippy · 18/02/2008 11:06

There's no one. I've tried.

Pesha · 18/02/2008 11:14

Oh Dippy poor you and poor girls

Sexonlegs · 18/02/2008 11:16

Morning folks.

Dippy, your poor dd's. Do you think it is viral (dd2). Can you get a docs appointment?

Elkie, your nights still sound crap to me. Is D just stirring or does he wake up crying/screaming? Sometimes K wakes up and chats for a bit in her cot, but I never go in and she just drops off again.

V quiet on here again.

Dh taking K to the docs later on. One of her eyes was completely shut this morning. It made me so sad.

At work, so need to go, although it is so quiet and I am so bored.

CaptainDippy · 18/02/2008 11:23

Trying to get Drs to come to me as I can't get to them

mammyjo · 18/02/2008 11:24

Oh SOL, you sound so down this morning. At least you have got a doctors appointment for K so that you can get her eyes checked over. Try not to worry too much about one eye being completely closed first thing. It is totally normal with gunky eyes for them to be fused shut in the morning. Not pleasant to clean, but normally fine once done iykwim.

CD, you poor thing with your poorly dd's. Hope dd1 will be ok for you

F is poorly again, had me up in the night and she had a raging temperature. Is very miserable just now and hot again so the calpol is out. I just want her to be well, as she has had things on and off for about a month now. Roll on the summer!

mammyjo · 18/02/2008 11:25

What did they say CD?

CaptainDippy · 18/02/2008 11:28

Deary me - lots of poorly little ones

Sorry SOL, didn't mean to ignore you - hope K is ok and Dr can help her poor eyes, praying. xx Praying for little F too, poor love

Receptionist at Drs was soooo nice (they are normally horrid old dragons) - she said she would put a note through to my Dr and try to get him to come out asap.

Sexonlegs · 18/02/2008 11:31

Morning MJ.

Poor F. It seems like lots of our lo's are poorly. Hope she is better soon and as you say, bring on the good weather. K too seems to have had one thing after another since Christmas - probably picked up from nursery!!

I am ok, but would rather be at home doing stuff. It is so boring at work atm. I shouldn't complain, as I do enjoy my job and I know there are lots of us who are job hunting, so I will stop moaning!!

elkiedee · 18/02/2008 11:32

D wakes up crying. Sometimes putting his dummy in works - most of the last few weeks before Saturday night that's worked quite well, and this morning I thought he was going to wake at 5.30 but the dummy got him back to sleep for over 2 hours, including us both getting up and some music playing and hanging up washing to dry.

Am feeling quite low this morning and I don't really know why I'm suddenly sliding down again. I'm sure tiredness doesn't help but...
