What lovely names - can I join in?

All ours were joint decisions as dh and I are far too stubborn to give way but you should be able to spot a theme.....

We have Miranda Rose, Rosalind Grace and Beatrice Amelia.

Rossie would have been Peter Richard (Richard was my uncle's name - he was killed in an accident before I was born) and Bea would have been Benedict Richard - for the same reason.

Off to bed now.

CaptainDippy · 15/02/2008 23:31

My children's names are on my profile DD1's name came from nowhere and her middle name is obvious for those who know me better DD2's first name was DH's choice, her 1st middle name is my foster mum's name and her 2nd middle name is the irony of being due in June and born in May I think P's name was my choice (she was nearly Florence), 1st middle name was a joint decision and SIL's spelling and her 2nd middle name is DH's G'ma's name who died Christmas Eve 2006.

So there you go!

If we ever have a boy, he will be Arthur Benjamin.

Night all

We are Jacob Francis, Jemma Estelle and Leo James here. Jacob and Jemma were DHs choice, their MN are the names I wanted to call them and Leo was my choice after Gabriel was vetoed by DH

Can you believe I have beenup for an hour already, emptied the dishwasher, put washing on, tidied round, washing in tumble drier, fed Leo. He is going through that delightful early waking phase (teeth/hunger??). Great.

StealthPolarBear · 16/02/2008 06:41

morning
wcl - that is bad

geordiemacminx · 16/02/2008 07:05

morning

Maveta · 16/02/2008 07:47

morning, that´s impressive WCL - think I´ve told you this but my dh is Gabriel, pronounced GAB-riel instead of GABE-riel. I like it, he doesn´t really

N doesn´t have a middle name, it´s not very normal here, if you have a second name people tend to use it as if it were attached by hyphen to your first name, iykwim? And we were so happy at arriving at Noah so easily we couldn´t be bothered looking for a middle name

My boss is the worst I needed to confirm something for her yesterday (although I told her to just confirm in on thurs because I knew she was going to, and she knew she was going to, she was just delaying things but she said no, she´d tell me yesterday). Emailed her loads yesterday "confirm this", "you need to confirm this" etc etc. Before I left sent her an email saying "I´m off, call this number in order to confirm this". Got a message once I got home saying "hahaha, really you want me to call this person and do this? don´t be ridiculous, call me". So I ignored it

Texted her this am to see if she´d done it. Guess what? She hadn´t!!! Is that not totally unbelievable?? Just replied saying "no, I left you messages and didn´t know why you weren´t replying"?

runnyhabbit · 16/02/2008 08:25

Morning all

Caz It had crossed my mind about him not be ready for potty training, but he knows when he's doing it, and tells me. Just can't get to the potty in time. And he doesn't want to wear nappies anymore. Tbh, I think I've been a little bit lax My mum has great with moral support. And if I'm totally honest, she's done most of the training with him
pillock How's the hair?
wcl Impressive morning W woke at 5.30am and by 6, I thought if you can't beat them, join them lol
maveta lol at your boss - mine was exactly the same!

As for names - ds1 is Joshua Daniel. I have always loved the name Daniel, but when he was born, it didn't suit him iykwim. Dh hated the name Joshua, until a week before he was born then decided it was the best name for a boy Would've been either Abigail or Olivia for a girl.
Ds2 is William Luke. My mum suggested William as soon as we told her we were expecting, and me and dh both loved it. 2nd name was going to be Scott or Luke, I decided in labour, mid contraction, that it would be Luke. I quite like the fact its a bit like my name Would've been Ruby or Martha for a girl (although dh wasn't fussed on Martha lol)

runnyhabbit · 16/02/2008 08:31

and dh hates being reminded that he didn't like Joshua when he first heard it I've still got the our names list in J baby box, and Joshua is crossed out

Eddas · 16/02/2008 08:46

morning everyone, i slept til just gone 8 dd was up but dh had been around til about 8 so she's had breakfast etc already We're off to dd's ballet lesson(did I mention she'd started them, SO cute) and then this afternoon i'm helping decorate the preschool toilets they are disgusting atm!

Ellie, how's the hair?

Am loving all the names.

When I was expecting dd my nan told me that she'd been on the bus and someone had a child called Beckham She said she'd buy the baby a pushchair as long as it's name was not 'beckham' like

Mine are Georgia Carol Anne, middle names are my mums names. We put anne in too as it seemed to go well! Wish i'd hyphened it now but never mind. Was very adamant at the time there would be no hyphen If she'd been a boy she'd have been Oliver Michael.

DS is Harry Michael. DH's middle name is Michael and it's his dad's name. He'd have been Lily Cherry, Cherry after dh's mum.

DS was always Harry but after he was born I discovered about 5 other preschool children have brother called Harry, even one born 2 days before my ds(although he was due way after my ds bloody late children)so i'm not so sure now. I like normal names but not too common IYSWIM. Have yet to meet many of dd's name, but poor ds will definately have at least one other Harry in his class when he starts school so will be forever Harry O(our surname). I was always Nicola E, co I know how annoying it is deed poll here we come

CaptainDippy · 16/02/2008 09:29

Moring - off to farm to see old school friends Will activate profile later ocs I am sure you are all dying to know my DC's middle names

Have good days all xx

Sexonlegs · 16/02/2008 09:39

Morning all on this fine morning.

WCL, what an early start! Hope you manage to get some rest later.

Ellie, how is the hair???

Loving the names talk. Becky is Rebecca (after my bf at school) Lena (prounounced layna) (after dh's Slovenian cousin) and Katie is Katie Elizabeth. Elizabeth is my middle name and the middle name of my 2 girl cousins who I am really close to.

If we had boys, would have been Daniel Christopher or Daniel Matthew.

Dippy, how is P today?

Had a lovely meal out. My valentines present hasn't arrived yet - dh just sent me the web link showing me what to expect!!

Lovely day here, but feeling a bit pants again - sort of fluey.

Hope you all have lovely days. xx

AngeG · 16/02/2008 10:06

Morning

WCL - Sorry about the early start.

POTC - How is the hair?

Maveta - Sorry about your boss.

Fantastic names Eddas Izzy was almost Georgia. Mine are Jake William joint choice on first name (although I suggested it!) William is my dad's name. Would have been Sophie Elisabeth if a girl.

Izzy is Isobelle Clair, First name took a lot of persuading by me, but it means the same as Elisabeth which was my Gran's name. Clair is my middle name and we couldn't think of anything else It needed to be one syllable!

Dippy - How is P today? Have a great time at the farm

SOL - Glad you had a good time last night, hope pressie arrives soon.

Morning GMM, SPB, Runny and anyone else I've x posted with.

runnyhabbit · 16/02/2008 10:06

J has wee'd in the potty - all by himself!!!!!!! I asked about a minute before, and sat him on there, but he got quite cross, saying no. And he hadn't quite got his pants down, so they were wet, but I don't care!!!!!!!!! I asked about a minute before, and sat him on there, but he got quite cross, saying no.

I'm sure you heard me shouting and laughing hysterically

AngeG · 16/02/2008 10:08

Fantastic Runny

runnyhabbit · 16/02/2008 10:09

don't know what happened with that message

W is no longer bf. Am not too Just makes me realise he's growing up. I was only feeding once or twice a day, so should I expect painful boobs?

AngeG · 16/02/2008 10:09

Meant to add, well done J

runnyhabbit · 16/02/2008 10:13

thank you

Everything seems so much better today, after yesterdays general crapness with the potty. Mum has got him for a few hours this morning (think she sees it as her mission lol)

Dh is working, so should really go and do some food shopping, otherwise it will be beans on toast

AngeG · 16/02/2008 10:14

lol at message I was so excited for you I didn't notice!!

about bf. Don't know about the boobs, I suppose it depends on how much he was having. Is he having formula/cows milk instead or just dropped altogether? I only ask because Izzy just had cows milk yesterday morning when she was with my mum and dad, but was still desperate for BF when she got back.

AngeG · 16/02/2008 10:15

Beans on toast is good

runnyhabbit · 16/02/2008 10:23

I honestly think that my milk just wasn't filling him up Not suprising really, with everything thats been going on with work, money etc I haven't been looking after myself that well He had ff this morning at 6am, only because it was too early for breakfast. Wolfed it down.
Also, he hasn't wanted to nurse for very long - too busy looking at other things, instead of concentrating on boob!

runnyhabbit · 16/02/2008 10:24

Right, I really must go and do things!

Have a great day all (lovely and sunny here, but very cold!)
x

AngeG · 16/02/2008 11:19

Sounds like it's the right time for W Runny. though it is for you.

It's so quiet this morning. Lovely sunny day here, but I expect it's really cold.

Hope everyone has a good day xx

2HotCrossBunnies · 16/02/2008 11:21

Good morning all. Lovely and sunny here too -and freezing! DS1 has just got back from Little Kickers with DH and DS2 has had a nap so peaceful morning for me now over

Runny - I think they have to have a few bad days so they learn what it feels like when the wee is coming, how to hold it, how long they have to get to a loo etc etc. DS1 was 2 on 27 May and potty trained 2 weeks later! I was amazed!!! That said we still have the odd accident - including 1 this week when he would rather wet himself than risk losing his toy to his cousin!! Keep going, it will "click" soon. I have a few friends from DS1's nct group who are still in nappies incl twins where 1 is in pants and the other in nappies. Just hows how they are all different and will do it in their own time.

Caz- if Charlie was 2 in Jan, you must have a small gap. wow, you are amazing! Hope the house/job stuff sorts itself soon.

to read all the return to work woes. My return date has been set as 14 April and I'm going to 3 days as before. Have posted an ad on Gumtree for a nanny and got over 80 responses!!! Only about 10 I want to follow up though. Feels very odd as by then I will have been off for 14 months. I agree I would like a job to give a break from the boys, plenty of dosh and no stress!!!

Enjoying the name chat. My Ds1 is Harrison James Roman. 1st name was because whilst pg I was having dreams about a baby boy called Harrison so couldn't call him anything else! 1st middle name is DH's middle name and 2nd middle name after where he was conceived! How chavvy ! Ds2 is Austen John Suenson - he was very nearly Oscar but now very pleased he wasn't as that's the name of the Eastenders' baby!! John cos we liked it and there are a lot of Johns on both sides and Suenson as it was part of my maiden name. My dad's grandmother was Danish and DS2 was born on what would have been my grandparents' 60th wedding anniversary if my grandfather was still alive so wanted a name for them. My grandfather's middle name was Bent (a Danish name) but I couldn't do that!!! If we have a DD she will be Darcey Rachel Leone - figers crossed !!

By the way - no sterlizing here. I bf for 7.5 months and wasn't going to start sterilizing then! The bottles go in the dishwasher anyway so that's good enough for me.

Hope all have a good weekend!

weeonion · 16/02/2008 11:31

good morning folks. yet another sunny day here
love all teh name chat but i will never keep track. C doesnt have a middle name as such - decided spelling caoimhe will be enough. her middle name is my surname and she has her dads surname. it was something he felt really strongly about so i backed down on that one.

i heard from work - i won my case! they upheld my appeal so YEAHHHHHHH! i get to be based in glasgow 2 days a week - saves 5/6 hours per day travelling. very pleased but a bit of a hollow victory as boss is spitting nails now apparently - never lost something like this before!

my wee sis arrives tonight. so looking forward to seeing her nad having girly chats! just need to clear spare room of mountains of clothes... arghhh

hope you all have a fab day.
