Sorry, best I could come up with in between making tea and trying to get Lils off to bed before the football starts...

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
cameroonmama · 05/03/2008 06:58

Just popping in with a rather large hangover, which is to be blamed on the blardy French who really know how to drink

Congrats Creena - more babies, we love 'em.

Lovely lovely dresses, naturally Tilly the one I like the most is called the Jasper However is that model wearing it really real or is she a mannequin?? Also I'd like to add that secretly I am quite relieved Tilly is also a biffer. I bet she is equally squidgeable as J.

Sorry Pebble about the school. Not easy...

Scoot, so sorry about your friend How can I get rid of the children for a week? your week sounds idyllic.. I should think Lils probably weighs less than Jasper, I have an upper body strength that matches that only of the incredibly hulk.

Movingtothecountrysideinessex woman, I have just been to see some puppies as I am under serious pressure from the dc. All three of them jumped and nibbled and chewed me and each other and I was only there for 5 mins! I did think, can I really do this, puppy, baby and two small dc, and I have 2 acres, lots of sunshine and plenty of staff to clear up after me! So if you decide to do it, courage mon amie

TYG, I love the prom dresses, they are great. I can't believe S has such a large pair of puppies I am quite . Beware the 4x4 trap, I can assure you there is not room in all 4x4 to fit two baby seats and a teenager in the back, unless you have the extra seats. You may be better off with a Focus S-max? Quite funky and speedy too.

Now, LG&T come this way please and talk to me about chickens, I have 5 arriving tomorrow...

FurtivelyPosting · 05/03/2008 10:27

Morning all. Many thanks for all of the congratulations, ladies - you're all lovely!

All this wedding talk has made me go misty-eyed - the dresses are all gorgeous.

While I'm here, can I pick your brains? I'm only 5 weeks up of the duff but I'm noticing some alarming symptoms already; I can't wear my normal coat any more because my knockers keep popping the buttons open, my tummy feels bloated already and my trousers are distinctly uncomfortable by the end of the day and I've been getting this nagging pain in my pubic bone and inner thighs (I had SPD last time). Am I imagining all this? Or is it all happening so early because this is my fourth pregnancy? Is it possible to get SPD symptoms so soon? And is it unheard of for a woman to start contemplating maternity trousers so soon?!!! I'm all befuddled!

Pebblemum · 05/03/2008 13:31

I started showing quite early with Alana compared to the boys so maybe you will be the same

My diet is starting (again) today. I have decided that I want to lose at least a stone before Alana's first birthday and then another half stone before I go to see Bon Jovi. As long as dh doesnt tempt me with KK's then I should be able to do it.

Dh got in at 6.30am, had a bath, got in bed for a cuddle then left again at 7.30am, he's shattered

Has anyone got any ideas on how to stop Alana grinding her teeth. She has got 5 now, 2 bottom and three top and since this morning she has hardly stopped doing it, its driving me mad.

Speaking of Alana i had better go and change her, she has just sat on my foot and filled her nappy What a lovely child!!

AprilMeadow · 05/03/2008 17:23

just very quickly......... TYG if you are after a p&t then mine is up for grabs.... just a thought. I have the doubles kit, cocoon and car seat with travel system adaptor. Dont really use it anymore as i have my nice Luna and ds doesnt really sit in buggy anymore.....

twelveyeargap · 05/03/2008 17:54

I don't want a kiddie wagon. Maybe I should fix up the Jag and tell DH to get the train if we're all going out together.

Either that or he can learn to drive like a normal person and take the old Rover.

Lupins71 · 05/03/2008 20:32

Helloooooooooooooooooooooooooo Hope ev1 is well, the move went well, I am now officially in the moddle of nowhere lol!! and there is only a bus on a friday - ideal for someone who doesnt drive - its lovely tho, dd has settled well in her new school, ds is happy as ever and we are now on tooth 7, I am defnatly less stresssed which means I have been getting on better with dp - so all good really, just need to get dp working

Whats been going on have only got net back today, only news i managed to keep up with was that tyg is expecting a little lad, huge congrats tyou you, i must say i had my reservations but A is so cute and cool,

Any new pg's? whats all thi tals of weddings who what where when????

Will try and post some pics of sticksville in next few days

AbbyLou · 05/03/2008 21:47

Hi all, just a quick dive in to say I won't be around for the next few days. We got the phonecall today and we have Ofsted next week. Aaaaaaggghhh!

Lupins71 · 05/03/2008 22:17

Hope it goes well Abbylou

Creena · 06/03/2008 09:54

April - if TYG doesn't take you up on your offer, I think I might! I will definitely need to get a double pushchair/pram now and I've had p&t recommended to me already (especially the sports model). Obviously TYG has first refusal but if I can have second refusal that would be great! Have you still got my email address, missus?

Trouser update - in normal jeans today but blimey, they don't half feel uncomfortable! Of course it may not be pregnancy related at all - I could just be a massive biffer. Or perhaps I just need to do a huge trump.

Mrsjaffabiffa · 06/03/2008 10:07

LOL at your trump Creena.

Nothing to report here but just thought I'd pop in and Wave to all.

7 teeth Lups, glad the move went well and you are happy.

Good luck with Ofstead Abby!

TYG, how about a picasso? snigger
I love mine but then I've never driven a jag or a land rover!

Lg&t did you go out and not come back? Hope you are all ok.

Still excited about April. Woooooooo Hooooooo

largeginandtonic · 06/03/2008 10:11

Abby you are excused posting for a while Good luck!!

TYG get an XK8 and sod the bloody buggy\kids\dh. We are going to get a Landrover Defender next, 12 seater Just in case...

April i will do the cake but am not great at Royal icing (hard stuff). They are more pricey than you would expect, one to feed how many? Do you want tiers? Let me know the details and i will price ya!

love weddings, not mine (too many people looking at me and taking photos)

TYG i like the Pear and the vibe, would probabaly go for the vibe though. Can you imagine in the rain taking the baby out, followed by A. Then putting them in the car before having to take it apart! Nightmare. Course i am a total buggy holic and would buy the Pear convincing myself it would be ok just to have one I want a Bee at the moment and am fed up with my Loola already. You cant stear it with one hand, infuriating when you are holding a childs hand.

Scoot sound like the shopping is going well even if the job is not

I had my hair done on Saturday and it is soooo much better. Am very pleased, how was yours Scoot?

Lups your new place sounds fab! No shopping for you though Still it does force you to save money i suppose. Pics please of the idylic views.

The chickens are lovely, very easy to please. They LOVE corn on the cob dangled from somewhere to peck at.

DH passes out tomorrow he gets to wave his sword around

largeginandtonic · 06/03/2008 10:12

Creena it's TWINS obviously

scootermum · 06/03/2008 11:16

Hair tomorrow..thank God..

Well I cant say enough nice things re my P and T I must say..Lily was 17 months when M was born and even then she spent quite a bit of time walking everywhere-up lots of steep hills round the village so you might be surprised by A's hill walking ability TYG..Of course now I cant keep the child in the sodding buggy but thats another story..And where is my cup of tea of a morning?!There I was sitting yet again on your road in traffic and in dire need of a hot beverage..and where were you, eh?!

I fit both my kids and my P and T in a Ford Fiesta! But I wouldnt reccomend it!

Went to Editors last night..very good but typically I have managed to get some virulent form of a chest infection so by the time they came on I felt like death, had a very high temperature and was sweating profusely and had to sit down at the back..so annoying..And I cant even have the day off work and lie in bed, which is what I need as the house is swarming with builders..have dosed up and am staggering around the service doing not so much at all..

The builder is being a typical builder as well and wont say when he will be done exactly and keeps Tutting about flat pack kitchens and RSJ's and things..FFS, I wish we'd never started the sodding thing now..

Lol at your bump Creena? But could it be twins?!

Back home tonight to see my girls-so excited to see them now!

scootermum · 06/03/2008 11:19

Hey Pebble-if you want to get glammed up for the meet up then I will too..ball dresses and Tiaras all round!Would we look odd in down town Portsmouth d'you think?

OP posts:
cinnamontam · 06/03/2008 12:26

Hi lovely ladies. Back at work so just sneaking on to say hi.

Tild is managing much better than me. She's all smiles and chats with the nanny while I'm messaging DH every 5 mins asking about her and how she's going.

Hilarious moment yesterday when I realised just how ROCK my life is.

I'm sitting downstairs in the company first aid room with the lock on the door plugged into the Medula Swing milking away whilst reading the autobiography of Slash (the guitarist from Guns and Roses). Made my milk flow much quicker than the day before when i had nothing to read

Will try and catch up on everyones news.

Tam
xx

Bensonbluebird · 06/03/2008 15:16

Congratulations Creena and Furtivelyposting!

My joints haven't settled down from being pregnant with A, my pelvis still feels alarmingly loose sometimes. I'd like to start running and yoga again but am a bit nervous about both.

I've got a new computer and bread machine (from a friend who doesn't use it)! not sure which I am most excited about, well actually I am. Baking cornbread (or rather it is) baking cornbread as I type.

Julie - Just asked for new wellies for my birthday. Insulated ones. Lucky me.

Little A has a new tooth (his second, finally) and yet another chesty cough. Poor boy has been coughing his lungs up in the middle of the night for the past few nights. Manages to stay cheery though.

Pebblemum · 06/03/2008 17:23

A was up some of the night with her teeth, think she had made it worse by grinding them all day

What about poor Patrick Swayze So horrible to think he may only have 5wks to live. Dirty Dancing is one of my all time fave films, and even though hes 55 now I still think he's got 'it'

twelveyeargap · 06/03/2008 17:50

April, I forgot to say; Thank you for the offer, but I haven't decided on a pushchair yet, so if you have a sale for your P&T with Creena then go for it.

I think I'll try out my friend's one when I'm in Sydney and see how A gets on "in the boot" so to speak. If she hates it, then it's going to be the iCandy I think.

I saw a great, really cheap tandem on a US website and even if you had to pay the same price again in import tax, it would still only cost about £200. Contours Tandem Was all for it until I found out it weighs 46lbs/ 20kgs. Imagine that with two toddlers. You'd be pushing around close to 100lbs. And I thought the iCandy was heavy...

cameroonmama · 06/03/2008 18:14

Wow TYG, Even I Am Impressed By That One, Sod The Weight Issue, It Will Be Worth It!

To be honest, I like the way you have a handy drinks tray to rest your g&t when in the pub on a summers day and small straps with which you can tie your escaping toddler to the buggy. Also important for a London girl is that when A is strapped to the side of the buggy and there is only little Seamus in the seat, you get triple extra basket space to put your shopping! Bonus!!

Ooooo LG&T a fun day tomorrow, thank God the pox are all over, especially for dh. Do you have to wear something posh too? Do you know, I can just picture you at the wheel of a Defender, 6 7 kids all bouncing around behind you through the potholes of Gosport. More evidence me thinks that a life in Africa awaits you at some point.

Abby, good luck with the Ofsted. Quite nerve wracking I'm sure.

I'm FED UP. My container was supposed to arrive in Mombasa yesterday-ish. Ok, so I have been in Africa for a long time and I do know the score, so I expected it to be delayed oh perhaps a week or two max, then a week or so to get it out of customs, but oh no, the container is nowhere near Mombasa, guess where the blardy MV Elizabeth deposited it...................Jeddah . The removal people even said that it might go to farkin Sri Bloody Lanka first before it comes to Mombasa. More opportunities for all the stuff to get ruined/fall off a boat into the sea/get knicked. It'll be the most well travelled container in the world. I have had enough of my kitchen containing only 3 saucepans, 6 plates and a family of sugar ants.

Rant over. Sorry about that, AF due tomorrow

AprilMeadow · 06/03/2008 19:36

oh Cam how annoying! I would be massively pissed off.

Tam, lol at the milking in the 1st aid cupboard.

LG&T, i thought finding a wedding cake would be simple! BUT as i cant have any alcohol in the fruit cake it is proving very difficult. All i am after is a 2 tier (one on top of the other no gaps)bottom fruit and top sponge. Covered in white royal icing with possibly a bit of lilac decoration...... there are 40 people coming MAX....... how does that sound?

Hey Jaffa! Was great to chat the other night. Cant wait to see you all xx

Creena looks like you get second refusal. Dont worry about making a decision right now. Its in the boot of dhs car and we can hang onto it for a while longer if needs be. Yes of course i have your email. Will drop you a quick line.

Been bowling with ds today and then to a friends party. Ds has slept through for 3nights in a row!!! Not been done for well over a year!!! Long may it continue

JamInMyWellies · 06/03/2008 19:48

Blimey TYG thats a tank of a buggy. Still go for the vibe if I was you.

CAM what a fu**er how much longer do you think you will have to wait.

LG&T so does that make DH a left tennent admiral or something. Well done though all that blood sweat and tears.

LUPS lovely to see you glad you are enjoying the country life.

BEFNAL lauren looks gorge will drop you a text next wk.

TAm have some very odd images of you in my head now wearing all black listening to guns and roses while pumping your lalas.

ABBEY gah the dreaded ofsted good luck!

SCOOT poor you feeling rubbish still that you are having a proper week without children doing gigs and things.

Soooo it looks like we are off for a mahoosive journey to get our PUPPY!!!!!!! We have to go to a village in the back end of Wales but have spoken to the breeder a fair amount and it looks like it comes from a good home. Mega excited its a hush basset 4 months old and looks fab. My DSIS suggested that Archie would be able to ride him. Just despatched DP to my parents to pick up their old dog crate thing. Am quite sure by the middle of next week that I will be on here complaining about A trying to chase it and cleaning up poo and pee.

JamInMyWellies · 06/03/2008 19:50

AM thats great cross fingers the sleeping through continues.

AprilMeadow · 06/03/2008 20:24

JIMW - awwwwww how cute. I am still working on dh for getting a puppy when we move to the new house

Befnal, lauren is so scrummy. Nice to see you again

twelveyeargap · 06/03/2008 21:00

Yahs, I could have my G&T on it. Probably in a sports container with a straw for easy access when the kids are driving me mad. DH is prob going to the US in June. He says he could get one if I want it. He has zero interest in buggies, but thinks having the kids facing each other is really cute. I mean, for £100 if I absolutely hated it, it wouldn't be the end of the world. I wonder if I would actually make it up the hill pushing 70lbs of buggy and baby? Will give it some thought.

LG&T - Taking the Pear apart wouldn't be an issue as I'd have an umbrella fold to keep in the boot.

Right. I won't talk about buggies any more.

Cam - I'm gutted for you about your stuff. I'd be in tears. I bloody hate moving house and to not have your stuff show up... I would feel like I wasn't "home" 'til the stuff arrived. Boo hoo.

Pebble - I'm glad A isn't the only one who grinds her teeth. It makes me feel sick listening to it. That said, she's been doing it for days and then finally, one of her centre front teeth has arrived. She won't look like a vampire (with the side incisors only) for much longer. I feel sorry for DH. I grind my teeth in my sleep when I'm stressed.

Congratulations to MrG&T for tomorrow.

Lups - glad things are going well. It's going to be lovely to have all that countryside in the summer.

Scoot - I'd be very happy to bring out a cup of tea to you. Just give me a ring. Some toast or a bagel or English muffin? Are you a Marmite lover or hater? (I'm the latter, but I have to give it house room for DH.) I also have damson jam, orange or lemon and lime marmalade, blueberry jam, cream cheese...

Am very tired. A woke up at 4am for food. I think she's stocking up after being sick for so long. I couldn't get back to sleep until after 6 and then the alarm went off at 6.30. This was after not being able to get to sleep until after 1am. Do you know what was on my mind? Going back to work. FFS. I don't actually have to think about it for another YEAR. I think it's because my friend went back to work yesterday. I started thinking about finishing my exams and going back to work and asking for a raise (in order to make it worthwhile going back). And why pray tell, would I want to go back to work? Because I saw lovely clothes in Karen Millen yesterday, which I'd have bought for work, had I still been there. Shallow, moi? My friend (the one who went back to work) said, "Why don't you just buy the clothes and do the school run in them. It would be cheaper than paying nursery fees for two."

Juicylucytoo · 06/03/2008 22:15

Wow, you're all so busy...

TYG I am following your every post on double buggies. Although, I don't know when I'll be needing them - still hopeful.

Creena - Big Congrats on being preggers.
Very

So, all the same here. DH and I just had a romantic w/e in Brussels w/o DS. Mum looked after him. It was fab, but missed DS much more than even I'd expected.

House is a mare, DS still not sleeping...blah, blah, blah...
