Juicylucytoo · 26/02/2008 21:58

sorry, won't make it tomorrow either

major house stuff going on...boring...

anneme · 26/02/2008 22:07

I am having a sneaky look on here whilst I am meant to be working - had a v good idea that involved all my dept doing some extra work and then realised I had to do extra work too. Brain not functioning because S has decided that it is a good idea to wake between 2 and 4 for the last few nights - AARGH. Usually I am v lucky because both children sleep through the night so it has hit us hard!! Oh well....
Quick question for those of you still bfing. S has now got two teeth on top and three on bottom and I am definitely feeling it when he feeds - don't remember this prob at this stage with DS1 - is anyone else having this problem?
lots of love from sorenips!!!! (or nibbles as DS1 insists on calling them!)

Mrsjaffabiffa · 26/02/2008 22:07

lg&t, just read down again and missed your post earlier. I'm not sure J does look like Maddie, sometimes she does but she is very like Harrison too.

AM-lg&t..... how does the Friday 18th April sound for a mini meet? [hopeful emote] Don't mind where, what, who, we are at grannies that day but can go anywhere would be so seal clapping to see you.

largeginandtonic · 27/02/2008 07:14

That sounds lovely MrsJB, i think i will only have B. It is the Second week in the Easter hols and i have a feeling thet 'tit' has all the other kids for the week

Mini meet for full on chaos i reackon, what dopes everyone else think? I will bake a few cakes

Liaghen sorry, am a dope and dint twig that of course your dd wouldnt know. I say don't invite her and keep it a secret from her too. As JW say's she may spoil it if she is that spiteful. I remember 2 girls in my class who were the same, evil. It never bothered me (too busy erm socialisisng with the 6th formers ) but i had seen them rip to pieces many a lovely person Bet they are doping nothing very interesting now, tempted to look on Friends Reunited or somesuch for them just to see.

JW i think you deserve that phone, tis Mothers Day on Sunday I am going to book and have my hair done on Saturday, i have only been waiting 10 months... it is situation desperate (Scoot would understand)

Hugs is not happy, all his blisters are huge and at the very nasty stage. He is being so good with it though. Poor little thing.

Must get them up, breakfast to do and i need a cuppa.

scootermum · 27/02/2008 08:28

I do understand largegandt..I have to get up at 5.45 every morning to wrestle my hair into some semblance of normal otherwise would scare the residents here..some of them have mental health issues already-I dont want to push them over the edge..

Cant we do a meet up on a Friday as then I can come?Pleeeease..

Liagh that girl sounds a right little madam..I would do what you said though-call her etc..mut be difficut though as I would want to give her a right rollocking..

vicarageJW

Did anyone get disturbed by the Earth quake last night?SKY lives near the epi centre I think?L woke up at 1am screaming blue murder but think she was just being a pickle rather than disturbed by tremors..not that id know, was dead to the world..DH got up with her for once

Right must go and do something..off to get the tube to Hammersmith in a min..must not go to Primark, must not go to Primark..

OP posts:
liahgen · 27/02/2008 08:44

thanks everyone. Am gonna invite her at last minute so she can't spoil it by telling, but will have a little chat before.

Anneme, I have a biter too. she's got 2 up 2 down, and though I wouldn't say she is biting me on purpose, she is definately leaning on with her teeth iyswim, i think it's as the feed goes on, she must relax more, then at the end, there are definately 2 little teeth indentations at the base of my nipple, (yep, my 2 littlies call em nibbles aswell, lol)Ouch
Can't offer any practical advice i'm afraid, I do find she is not quite so bad if I lay down. Bit tricky in Costa's though

I worked for a ldy once who had cp as an adult, and she was really quite poorly so I feel for your dh LG&T. All mine except baby have had em now, thank goodness. They immunise against cp in the states you know.

i phone, there's a thought for mothers day, maybe i'll drop some hints, or better still, just tell them
Right, school run beckons, have good day ladies.

Pebblemum · 27/02/2008 08:51

My brother lives in Lincoln and sent a text to say he felt it qite badly. We are just waiting to hear from my mum's sister who lives near the epicentre, she lives alone and is in poor health so I hope she wasnt too shaken by it. When i mentioned it to my sister this morning she was waiting for the punchline, thought it was a joke

AprilMeadow · 27/02/2008 08:56

AprilMeadow · 27/02/2008 08:57

Mrsjaffabiffa · 27/02/2008 08:59

Oh god is it Uk school holidays whilst we are over too? darnnnn, busy, roads, shops etc.... nightmare! What date does their holiday start lg&t? Oh well, ferries are booked now, sure it will be fine!! Can't wait to see you and anyone else.

J is miss GRUMPY pants!! Not sure if she's coming down with soemthing or if it's just teeth, her gum at the top is huge and almost opaque from the pressure. She won't let me put her down unless she's in bed....... aghhhhh

Only managed a lb this week damn chicken wraps. Still another lb to go for my first stone!!

juliewoolie · 27/02/2008 09:35

Scoot ? at vicarage I have been banned from swearing by my DP as he reckons if the vicar hears my tourette esque talk Arhie will not be allowed to atend the local school.

LG&T how did you get on this morning?

We could always try do a mass meet up again at G&T's.

MrsJB could you pass some of your weight loss tips over here please I appear to have an addiction to dirty white bread. And now my tummy is resembling said white doughy bread.

I have to go brave costco dont want to go want to stay attached to the sofa all day.

TillyScoutsmum · 27/02/2008 10:00

Hi all

JW - I reckon if your ipod is broken and you need a new phone then an iphone makes perfect sense for Mother's Day I told DP I quite fancied some 7 for all mankind jeans but I suspect they may be a teeny bit over the budget he had in mind . We are general practice surveyors (letting, selling, rent reviews, property management that sort of thing. Sort of like glorified estate agents but with qualifications and morals ). Please tell me none of you are estate agents now. If you are - I am only joking !

Liahgen - that girl sounds like a right little madam. Fancy going into your dd's bebo account !!! Hope your dd has a fab time - it all sounds brilliant fun. Blimey - I've got all this to look forward to

I'm off to meet an old work friend for lunch today. Her dh has just left her and the kids and she's in a bit of a state . I'm really going to struggle not to say that he is a useless twunt and she is worth a thousand of him and is better off with him gone. Probably not what she wants to hear at the moment.

Apparently the earthquake was felt around here, but not by us. Pretty amazing on the basis I was awake most of the night (dsd has a bad cough and dd woke a few times as well).

I would love a meet up. Wonder how long it would take me to get to south coast. hmmmmmm

Hope everyone has a good day. LG&T - hope your kick ass session chat goes ok with your p*ss taking "friend"

elkiedee · 27/02/2008 10:11

No sign of cinnamontam over the last few days and I didn't get her email to contact her direct or send my mobile no - hope you're ok - and I've failed to go as early as I planned to swimming. So I'm not expecting anyone to be there to meet at 1.30.

largeginandtonic · 27/02/2008 10:29

Morning!

Thanks Tilly, i am steeling myself for later!

A m,eetup at mine on Friday 18th sound bloody brill, you can all meet the chickens All welcome, will be quiet without the other 5 Can you get flights Cam? and you Latinomom sort it out.

The kids have blardy ridiculous holidays, they are off for Good Friday and Easter Monday then back to school for 2 weeks. The 'Easter' holds start the 11th April for 2 weeks. I mean wtf?

JW the cockrel will crow at a ridiculously early time in the morning, poor you! You will get used to it though, or buy a catapolt

Pebblemum · 27/02/2008 13:57

The school holidays this year are really stupid, keep forgetting that everything is earlier than usual this year, must hurry uyp and get the easter eggs otherwise all the good ones will be sold out.

I've heard some really sad news about a couple of my cousins today. They were both abused badly by a family 'friend' when they were younger and of course it really effected them, one of them tried to commit suicide several times. The man finally got what he deserved and it seemed like things were starting to look up for them. One of my cousins recently had a gorgeous baby boy and she seemed really happy. Now though dr's have discovered a lump in her womb, they dont think its cancer but have said that it is likely she will need a hysterectomy, she is only 17
Her sister was told a couple of years ago that the abuse had damaged her so badly that they didnt think she would ever be able to have children, she is 19 and had only started her AF's about a year ago. A few weeks ago she discovered that against all the odds, she is pregnant, of course she was thrilled. Now though she has been told that it is highly likely that the baby either has Downs or SB. I am just soo Im sat here almost in tears. After all they have been through they dont deserve this.

It makes me feel very guilty for moaning about things going on in my life when in comparison to what my cousins' are facing my problems are minute.

AprilMeadow · 27/02/2008 19:45

Pebble, your poor cousins, what an awful thing for them to have gone through not to mention what they are going through now.

Liahgen, that girl sounds horrid. I hope you find the right solution.

Yay a meet up at LG&T's - I PROMISE i will bring KK's with me this time What time? Only asking as kiddies are in nursery in the morning and i need to know whether they should go in or not.... How exciting

Scoot, how was your day at work?

Dh and i are off out tonight for our designated every other Wednesday babysitter rota thingy. We are going to go bowling and have a bite to eat. Cant wait, havent been proper bowling (went with J on Sunday but it was more a fun thing than proper playing as he is only 2!) for ages. Although the last time we played i think i kicked his arse

Quite busy at work this week as we are moving offices on Friday. and so far havent cocked anything up in the finance department that i am now the manager of

MrsJB how did N's op go? had my fingers crossed for a good outcome. Will catch up with you maybe tomorrow if you are around. x

cameroonmama · 27/02/2008 20:31

oh pebble, that's so sad How do they know the baby may have DS or SB? Through a triple test? I just wanted to say, if so, then there are loads of false positives, my risk was 1:10 for DS with J.

My dad lives outside Lincoln too and he was woken up in the early hours by the quake.

MrsJB

liahgen · 27/02/2008 20:40

Pebble, what a terrible thing to happen.I do hope they manage to help her without having to resort to that. Alot of horrible things have happened to my family and people close to me in the past couple years, and i tell you what, it makes you appreciate what you've got.

Is the meet up a general invitation? Where do you live LG&T?

Am also getting the impression, some of us don't live in England...

My niece lives in Scunthorpe, and they were woken by the quake. I didn't even know till I heard it on the news, take more than a little earthquake to wake my house.

Juicylucytoo · 27/02/2008 21:29

Oh Buggar, won't be able to make the 18th methinks. Got my Mum coming down for the weekend, so don't think I would manage to get to Portsmouth (?) and back in time for her arrival... Boo hiss...

AprilMeadow · 27/02/2008 23:07

Hey Cam, it was mrsjb's friend having the op not her dh. How's things in sunny nairobi?? Did my card reach you?

Liahgen, Cam lives in Nairobi, she moved at the beginning of Jan, MomtoLatinoBoys lives in the states and MrsJB lives in France, though originally from bournemouth. Meet up is in Gosport area.

I did not beat dh at bowling, infact he beat me twice

mom2latinoboys · 27/02/2008 23:16

Hello everyone! Well we took Cruz for his 9 month check today and he is doing very well (like I needed a doctor to tell me), and he's a whopper of a boy. He now weighs 20 pounds 5 ounces (took Mateo 12 months to get that much) and is measuring 28 and 3/4 inches. He's grown so much and was so good. Luckily we don't have to have his blood drawn for the lead test until he's 12 months. Some doctors do it at 9 months and others at 12 months. Do you do the lead test over there? I don't we Americans test for everything though don't we.

I got some great gifts from China. My mom brought me a beatiful jade necklace (She, myself and my sister all have the same one), a cool handbag, a white and black pearl braclet, a silk pashmina, and got the boys traditional chinas silk outfits. They are too pretty to where so I think I will take their pictures in them and frame the outfits afterwards.

Oh and we watched "30 days of Night" it scared the crap out of me. we also watched "Waitress" It was really cute so I definitely recommend it.

ciao bellas.

Pebblemum · 27/02/2008 23:53

Cam Im not sure what tests she has had done but they are going to look into it more. Im really hoping they have made a mistake. They have been through so much already, as well as the abuse their parents have been ill a lot too. Their mum has had cancer and their dad's had several heart attacks. They are such a lovely family I hate seeing them all suffering yet again

On a lighter note I had J's parents evening today, his last at that school, and I am very impressed. They have been doing mock SATs and in every one he has scored above average. The teacher is really impressed with his level of reading (hes a bookworm like me lol)and how much interest he shows in his school work. He has always done well but for a while when he was being bullied he seemed to lose interest in school so it was great to hear that he is back up there with the other swots lol. The teacher also said that hes quite popular among his classmates which was great to hear. I am so proud of him

I must try to post a pic of J, he had his hair cut the other day and with his tanned skin and dark spikey hair he looks like a better looking version of Peter Andre (a lot better but then I am biased!)

Have to go now and check out the Sports Relief website, J told me today that he wants to take part. Need to know if he can do it without an adult otherwise I will have to take part which would be a very amusing sight with all my wobbly bits bouncy every which way with every step lol

liahgen · 28/02/2008 00:12

ooh, I asked dh the other day if he would like to take part, said yes so long as he can walk it.
Is that allowed do we know?

Am also off to check out website. night all.

mom2latinoboys · 28/02/2008 01:01

Pebble,

I'm so sorry about your cousins. I don't really know what to say. It sucks when bad things happen to people who have already had a shit time.

cameroonmama · 28/02/2008 08:41

greetings from sunny Nairobi

Its official, J would win the BIFTAs. He clocked in this morning at a whopping 25.5 lbs (11.2kgs). Still he is so happy and smiley and sleeps through the night so what do I have to complain about apart from sore arms...

The political situation appears to be easing a bit here, fingers crossed its up all the way from now on. But Cameroon is suffering riots and upheaval, several friends have left the country Democracy in Africa is not easy.

Plus I saw my first dead body today, lying beside the road as I went to the docs, ffs you'd think that the local council would be able to come and give the poor man some dignity by taking him away pronto.

See, its not all coffee mornings and lounging by the pool

Oops sorry MrsJB that's what happens when you are nosy.

Pebble well done to J, the library trips are obviously paying off!

M2LB, fabulous gifts, what a jetsetter your mum is. Try to persuade her to come to Kenya next and that you absolutely must go with her and we could have our own overseas meet-up!
