JW how is your head this morning? I have an off switch now when it comes to drinking, i just cannot bear the hangover in the morning.

Pebble hope you feel a little better today, your dh is something else sometimes Not sure how you stand it.

April am very of your visit with MrsJB, is it before or after you come over here?

Hugo is coming out in spots... oh the joy.

largeginandtonic · 25/02/2008 08:20

TYG how is A this morning? Hope she is feeling better

juliewoolie · 25/02/2008 08:36

Head better thank god, but could not get back to sleep so have been awake since 2.30! Archie better have a long nap this morning so I can go back to sleep for a bit.

TYG hows A?

pebble I hope you beat your DH to a pulp for eating your chocolate that is a hangable offence in our house.

LG&T is that your household poxed out after Hugs or are there still some who have to catch it. How did Phinn get on with all her tests?

Right best crack on, I wish Mcdonalds delivered a sausage and egg muffin really would go down a treat right now.

AprilMeadow · 25/02/2008 08:53

Julie hope the heads clears soon for you. We cant drink either as the morning after is just too much for us to cope with.

'ere Scoot could your dh ask the big boss at Golden Arches HQ to think about a delivery service..... i think people would pay a del charge

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo LG&T just as you had been given the green light to go out. I have had to postpone my trip to the JB household as dh has a meeting slap bang in the middle of the visit, so we are just going to have to wait for her to come over here

largeginandtonic · 25/02/2008 09:40

Oh bum and pants AM. That is so not good Will you go over in the summer maybe or earlier?

Shall we have a mini meet again at mine? Course there will be no Cam this time Wander if the ever elusive SOH will stay again. We didnt get to beach walk before as the weather was so nasty. MrsJB would be very pleased im sure

JW yes Hugs is the last, the other 4 had it ages ago. Thank farckin god! McDonalds brekkie mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

I have carrot cake for elevenses, made it yesterday. May paint the downstairs toilet today, did the bathroom over the weekend. It is ok while B is asleep but when he wakes it would be damn near impossible.

What is everyone else doing today?

cameroonmama · 25/02/2008 10:46

Glad to hear TYG that A is a little better. But boo hoo LG&T for Hugs, not moooooorrrreee pox. Sorry.

I like the delivery idea Julie, do you think they would deliver to Nairobi??

I could participate in a virutal mini-meet up, like MrsJB did last time

This morning was Pilates for me, my stomach needs to know what it is like to have muscles again. The shame of it was that I was the youngest by about a millenium and I was the worst...

Still it counteracted the wine and roast pork fest of yesterday as we entertained several sets of friends on our verandah and the kids ran around the garden and in and out of the paddling pool - its tough this expat life, I tell you.

What happened with P's tests LG&T? What were they for?

Typical SOH, flies in with a tempting teaser of a conversation then flies out again to keep us all in suspense.

Pebblemum · 25/02/2008 10:52

Morning all

Still feel rough but have decided that Im going to go out and get a bit of fresh air. Not sure where to go yet though. The schools round here are all closed for teacher training so I have the boys to entertain. I was planning to be out for most of the day but J has just informed me that he and his friend are off to the library (not going to argue with that lol) so now im a bit limited as to what to do,where to go but sure i will think of something.

DH almost redeemed himself last night, went to shops and bought me a massive dairy milk bar but then went back to bed to watch more dvds and when Alana stirred instead of just popping her dummy back in her mouth he picked her up and bought her to me which meant that she was then wide awake. Thank god he is out of the house until 1am today (had to go round FILs to do the DIY he was supposed to have done yesterday )

JW Im one of the lucky ones, I can drink and drink but hardly ever get a hangover Hope you soon feel better

Pebblemum · 25/02/2008 10:53

LG&T meant to say sorry to hear you are about to be quarantined again but at least you know this will be the last of it

largeginandtonic · 25/02/2008 11:10

She has had tests for her academic aabilities, social and emotional development and a vast quantity of blood taken to screen for any genetic or other abnormalities. The 2 hours of test she had 3 weeks ago went well, she is about 2 years behind with her emotional development and social reasoning. About what i though really.

I have no idea if the blood tests will show anything. When they come back we go to see the consultant Paed again, she is very nice.

Poor old dd, she seems to get it in the neck with everything. I so hope i have a pink one next to cheer her little life up.

Cam i am at your leisurely lifestyle, mostly the outdoors side of it. Exercise good grief what is that?!

cameroonmama · 25/02/2008 11:17

Gosh, she certainly didn't come across to me as 2 years behind socially. Poor wee thing with all those blood tests, does she struggle then at school?

Simple, persuade dh he needs an overseas posting (I hear Cyprus is quite nice ) and then you too could have our lovely lifestyle (without the jabs)

Pebble, at your ds going to the library. Good on him!

mom2latinoboys · 25/02/2008 12:11

Well I'm happy. Cruz is a sleeping machine. Last night he fell asleep at 5pm (before I got home), and woke up at 7am. He did not make a sound the whole time. He's been sleeping through for a while now, but 14 hours is ridiculous.

Hope everyone else is having a great day, because mine is starting off beautifully.

juliewoolie · 25/02/2008 13:06

agree with cam lg&t she was certainly very aware and incredibly social when you had us hordes over.

largeginandtonic · 25/02/2008 13:21

She is mostly fine, behind at school but picking up now. She just seems to struggle grasping situations and is incredibly sensitive but put's up a bravado. This manifests itself in real crazy frustration sometimes. Like a toddler.

I am sure she is ok, not academically gifted but hey who cares. It is also hard as i comapare her to her brothers and they are so 'with it' and clever. Ridiculous i know.

Thanks for the comments though She is very gregarious and sociable and loves an audience!

mom2latinoboys · 25/02/2008 13:35

LG&T will she eventually catch up to where she's supposed to be. How does this affect her school (ie is it better to hold her back a year)? Sorry to be nosy.

largeginandtonic · 25/02/2008 16:46

They wont keep her back a year, i mentioned it at her last school as it was obvious when she joined that she was going to be slow. Daft if you ask me, i think it would have made such a difference. She is one of the youngest in the year, her b day being in the Summer hols. She gets lots of extra help and the school are watching her closely. I dont think she will ever exceed average but should (hopefully) catch up enough to stay up with her class.

I am going mad, dd is driving me crazy, one of the twins is feeling yuk i had to get him from school early. Beau is grumpy as hell and looks like he is covered in some weird viral rash. Oh ffs.

AbbyLou · 25/02/2008 17:13

Oh no LG&T, just when you thought you were safe to go out! I do feel for you, really I do. I was feeling really fed up when I had just 2 of them off ill so it must be a nightmare when you've got so many.
Well I have survived the first day back. Despite my reservations the Inset day was actually really interesting and very useful. I learnt a lot of things I will use with the kids.
Well better go, C wants to play a game and R is currently smearing tuna all over my dining table.

Mrsjaffabiffa · 25/02/2008 18:29

In the night fricking garden..... It's got her...... help!!!
There's no going back, how will she ever recover? Poor child!!

Check out the new pic on my profile!!

Lg&t you are having a real run of it at the moment. Poor you, P, twin and B. xxx

Pebblemum · 25/02/2008 22:44

Oh no LG&T things just arent going well for you at the moment are they Hopefully things will improve soon

I am so annoyed (no its not dh this time lol) I just went on ebay to check on a few items ive been watching, only to discover I have an unpaid item strike against me. If I deserved it, then fair enough, but I dont. The seller marked payment as received on 14 Feb, I got the item (my lovely canvas) a couple of days later and we both left each other positive feedback so why is he/she being an arse They had issued an unpaid reminder first of all despite the fact I had emailed them to let them know payment was on the way (it wasnt even late) and now this. Ive lodged an appeal with ebay so I guess I just have to wait and see. I really like the canvas I got off of them and had thought of getting some more but as far as im concerned they can get stuffed

To top it off, J went to Youth club tonight and I feel the leaders were out of line. Ive started a thread in the legal section asking for advice rather than moan about it on here as thats all i seem to do lately

On a lighter note A is now standing up on her own for longer, shes not tried to take steps yet, she just stands there but im sure it wont be long before she builds up the confidence to do it without holding on to something {proud mummy}

scootermum · 26/02/2008 08:53

(whispers)Hi all, havent been able to get on in a while as no web connection at home..Fixed now hopefully..Back at work and thoroughly depressed

juliewoolie · 26/02/2008 09:08

Pebble just seen your post in Legal. That is shocking and must be against any rules for a youth club. There will be quite stringent rules for what is and not allowed. Just remembering back to when my Dad was a youth club leader over 10 yrs ago, there were definite rules and guidelines that had to be followed.

Haha Mrs JB I have a photo of A doing just the same. Tis dreadful just hearing the music makes him go all still and then when Maka paka comes on the screen he goes bonkers. We bought him 3 mini character teddies which he takes to bed with him every night and snuggles. I have created a monster.

Hope you have a better day today lg&t, bloody germs and grumpy children.

Got the guy coming over to do our energy check for the HIPS package. It really is the biggest waste of money.

Mrsjaffabiffa · 26/02/2008 09:24

Just quickly as I have to go and fall asleep broarden my mind at French.

Pebble, I used to be a youth leader, I haven't got chance to post now but I'll come back on after french and tell you how we would deal with this sort of thig nightly.

TillyScoutsmum · 26/02/2008 09:35

Hi all. Til is addicted to ITNG. I think they emit some kind of baby drugs through the telly. Macca Pacca is also the current fave and produces a frenzy of seal like clapping

Dp handed his notice in at work yesterday to set up his own practice... Very scary stuff but he's wanted to do it for a while and the time wasn't really right with Til coming along. He's already had me running around like his bloody P.A

LG&T - sorry there are yet still more lurgies around. Hope it clears up soon

Sccoter - sorry to hear work is cr*p - make sure you keep sneaking on

Hope everyone else is ok.

Right - off to read the Inland Revenue website to sort out VAT registration. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

largeginandtonic · 26/02/2008 09:57

Oh Scoot i have been thinking of you my lovely, how utterly pants. Sneak back on later and tell us all. Hugs to you xxx

mRSjb J looks so cute, she is so big too! Does she look just like Maddy?

Twin has gone to school, it is his beloved science club today so he didnt want to miss it. Such geeky children i have

Hugs is ok, bit grumpy and tearful, he was up in the night too. The baby seems ok though, just a vague rash. I must clean the bathrooms today so he had better sleep

Tilly how exciting! Will he be a much happier dh doing his own thing? What is it he does?

TillyScoutsmum · 26/02/2008 10:58

He's a surveyor (we both are - oh how the winter night's fly by !). Tbh - he wasn't unhappy where he was but he's taking his 2 main clients with him so just got a bit fed up of making lots of profit for someone else. Fingers crossed it'll work out and he'll make loads of dosh
