mmm ginger beer.

I'd like to read that 'what mothers do' book, might go seek on Amazon. Stay away from that Rachel Cusk book. Right misery.

HellHathNoFury · 18/01/2008 14:30

oh FFS

I just got conjunctivitis. Can't see a bloody thing.
I'm going home.

Yes, I think so MHC. Its yours if you want it. FB me your address. Do you have my email?

foxythesnowman · 18/01/2008 14:52

Why is it compulsory reading?

I really didn't enjoy it - felt she was very negative about motherhood.

BumperliciousIsOneHotMother · 18/01/2008 15:01

what does rachel cusk go on about then Foxy?

Not in the same league as those books but I got the Yummy mummy survival guide (or something like that) for xmas. where books for men can only talk about parenting with sport or car analogies she can only talk about parenting by comparing it with getting your legs waxed or a fake tan

Fury want a squirt of my milk for your eye? !

Just got the mnet weekly talk round up and this thread has been put in mnet classics!

MHC, I've decided I'm going to ask DH if he minds me taking off one evening a week to the pub up our road with the laptop. Think it'll be v good for me. You must all think I'm a right wet blanket. Before I moved in with DH I did loads of stuff, belly dancing, salsa, circuit training, I even set up a book group. Now I'm old before my time

foxythesnowman · 18/01/2008 15:13

Do you know, I really can't remember much about it. But I remember thinking she had nothing positive to say about having a child.

I've just had a look for it. Its not where I thought it was. I very rarely get rid of books, but now I am wondering if I hated it that much I passed it onto Charity or put it in the shed? We have shelves and shelves of books, and its not there, which is strange.

milkyJammy · 18/01/2008 15:53

Why is it that every time I go out you lot get all chatty? Is it a conspiracy?

Hope your eye(s) are better soon Fury

foxythesnowman · 18/01/2008 16:00

I had a Tesco delivery today. They sent lots of free Christmas biscuits and chocs

foxythesnowman · 18/01/2008 16:01

Hello Jammy How has your day been?

milkyJammy · 18/01/2008 16:10

Hi MHC

foxythesnowman · 18/01/2008 16:14

Perhaps I should re-read it. I read it 6 years ago. From what I remember I didn't pick up on any depth of feeling or emotion. I think when I read it I wanted to read about someones joy of motherhood. Looking back, it may have been the wrong time for me to read it.

milkyJammy · 18/01/2008 16:15

C has just rolled over again She hasn't done it much but this time it was slow and deliberate, she definitely meant to do it rather than it being a fluke. But after a little while she got ited on her front and I had to help her roll over again onto her back.

She's done it again!

Sorry for being overly excited by this

BumperliciousIsOneHotMother · 18/01/2008 16:31

It is exciting jammy, but scary too!

milkyJammy · 18/01/2008 16:33

She seems much better at rolling when her nappy is off. I guess the thick padding of a cloth nappy impedes movement somewhat.

milkyJammy · 18/01/2008 16:34

Hi Bumper
