Thanks FH, some great ideas on there, chubby bunnies sounds gross! Beks

ChaCha · 31/01/2008 19:04

Hi girls,

Hope all is well. Saw m/w today and DS1 had his 2 year check, all well with us. Always find it amusing when young h/v says things like 'so he'd drink his bottle of milk in one go and then you'd take him and brush his teeth straight away before putting him back in bed?' [pen to paper, lots of smiling assumptions] Must assign her new fly on the wall role!

Kids are getting better - thanks. Is it a boy thing though to keep coming over and wiping their noses all over me Is not very nice especially when dressed in black!

Event of the day is that while loading d/w and leaving children to play DS1 opened front door, his little helper behind as usual and after feeling a rather nippy draught round my ankles went through to find DS1 emptying contents of porch onto garden and DS2 twirling in the shite that is the after mass of the lovely morning's weather! And to top it all off, they were in nappies with just their sweaters on (was getting round to that part) so promptly dragged them inside trying to compose myself in front of neighbour who had just returned from school run .... humph!!! Must remember to lock door we were just so wet on return home i thought of nothing but changing all clothes.

Anyhoooo, there's my day - i am supposed to be in the bath so best go as i can hear 'need mummy'

Love to all x

p.s. Feetheart - lovely to hear about your dad (may God rest his soul) what a link that is, i felt a bit tearful reading it.

Diege · 01/02/2008 15:52

Afternoon! Brrr, it's freezing here too - all possible weather this morning - sun, rain, hail, snow, gale force wind, lovely!
LOL CHACHA at health visitor story - can you imagine getting them out of bed after settling to sleep to brush teeth ; I think I would have a tantrum if some one tried to do that to me! You've made me feel guilty about L's 2 year check. I'm in stalemate with my health authority over this . Gps surgery has moved all the checks to local clinic (round the corner, no probs). Then (of course) local clinic closes, and checks done in next village. Impossible to get there on public transport - cost me £14 round trip in taxi last time for dd1's eye check. So I'm not doing it again, and waiting to hear back from HV to see if they can garnt me permission to have check done at GPs. FFS!!!! All the time, phoneclass etc it's taken to get this far at the Gps I could have been in and out for the bloomin' check! I know my rights though (smug expression) and I'm in the right because they withdrew their services (I do a lecture on it for social workers )Ok, rant over!
House is nice and tidy today because of a viewer - she was a bit of a pain actually, complaining that we don't have a garden (, did the specs say anything about a garden??. We've had some really rude viewers - what's happened to politely smiling and nodding and them slagging it off to yourself after ? .
Gosh, think I'll have a cup of tea and relax a bit! Must be those a-level papers getting to me

twinkle1 · 01/02/2008 16:06

novadandypowder · 01/02/2008 16:37

Just a quickie - I've put 3 photos from the shoot today on the Y group

novadandypowder · 01/02/2008 16:43

I must stress these are the rough versions - I have to pick 10 (had over 200 taken) and the photographer will photoshop them!

Diege · 01/02/2008 17:03

Wow wonderful piccies NOVA !! Love the 'dotty' one - bet your legs hurt posing for that though! Seriously, though you look great . V. jealous
TWINKLE - yes, looking forward to reading and eating in London too! The simple pleasures of life that are all too easily forgotten with children! Just wondering if you fancy doing something over the half term? (we breal up on the 8th) Just thinking aloud, suggestions welcome! Your snow sounds wonderful btw - mine is more hail really - just wet roads and lots of wind and sore icy stones!
Right, tea on! V. tired after 5am start with L this morning . Isn;t it cruel the way they lull you into a false sens of security and then bam it's back to morning hell again!

twinkle1 · 01/02/2008 18:13

argh Diege,
We do not break up till the 15th!!! bloody typical
twinkle

Diege · 01/02/2008 18:32

Oh no!!!! Just thinking, are you free at all during my half term? I'm happy to bring older dds on train to Lowry, say, as L will be in nursery? If so, I'll check with dh and see what days he can 'do', and when Ineed to be 'working from home'

twinkle1 · 01/02/2008 21:25

yep sounds great to me I cant do Mondays but should be able to do any others
just let me know
twinkle

ChaCha · 01/02/2008 23:36

Nova - I looked at your glamour pic (the third one) and I could not help but to say the name 'Betty Page'!!!!!! I hope you don't mind me saying that but there is a striking resemblance. I am wondering that with it being vintage perhaps the choice of lingerie emphasised that but even the hair...hope you don't mind the compliment and is taken as intended. Fab pics and i also like the first one but wondering which your DH may be prefer, all lovely

Hi to everyone else, hope the Northeners are not suffering from the weather. Off to bed x

novadandypowder · 02/02/2008 09:26

Chacha, the whole idea of the shoot was to try and recreate a Bettie page look. My DH is a huge fan and has her tattooed on his back. I wasn't keen on the maid, but the photographer insisted we try it .

twinkle1 · 02/02/2008 10:46

Morning all,
Well the snow has well and truly arrived just got back from sledgeing, we had a fab time.Just sad im in no condition to zoom down the hill with them But the sight of DH and kids made up for it DD made a lovely snow angel.I have to say some of the best things i have ever bought is the sallopetes and ski wear. The kids no longer get wet or cold when its like this.Everything looks so beautiful all white and the moors and mountains spectacular.Wish you were all here to join in.Anyone else got lots of snow????
Have a nice day
Twinkle

novadandypowder · 02/02/2008 14:15

OOOO very of your snow Twinkle. No such luck here

Diege · 02/02/2008 14:33

No snow here either, though I'm glad as I hate the stuff .
Will check dates with dh TWINKLE and get back to you - should be easy peasy with 2 dds when I'm used to 3!
Hi NOVA, and to everyone else - hope you're enjoying the weekend. Marking is taking over here - those 17 years olds are destroying my will to live... I'm jmust thinking of the money though!

Rodeo · 02/02/2008 15:36

Brrrr....it's bloomin' cold round here! Snowed overnight but it's mostly all melted now thank goodness! Took the horse out this morning and was thankful nut to have ant Bambi moments!
Nova, Wow! Love your pictures! Like the Glamour one best, you look lovely (not to mention sexy )! Glad your lessons are going well, agree it's much easier to ride a more forward-going horse, hope yuo cntinue to enjoy it
Diege, you sound busy with marking and house viewings (the cheeky so-and-so's!) So May hey? Can't wait! You too BB
Chacha, I too had to LOL at 'brushing teeth after milk' Replying 'Oh yes, of course I do' with a straight face, did ou manage?!
Well my highlight of the week was finding 4 miniature shetland ponies on my lawn on Wednesday night! They'd escaped from a local rescue centre and were causing havoc on the High Street, so a few teenagers managed to trap them in our car park and they trotted up the path onto our garden There's tiny little hoof prints all over the grass! They stay'd 30 minutes chomping our grass and then some people arrived with headcollars to lead them back - though they didn't go quietly - they were off on a jaunt I think and weren't keen on going back!
Better go ds is having a strop, hello all, enjoy your snow Twinkle Bye for now x

ChaCha · 02/02/2008 16:17

Also at all the snow...love it and not a flake to be seen here!

Diege - Didn't read your post properly last night, at prospective buyers... and again at H/V/Clinic situation. Hope you get through the marking, must seem endless sometimes.

Nova - Yay! I thought so! Good that DH is fan, he will be thrilled. Have you been told you look like Betty P before btw?

Twinkle - You will need to build a super family sleigh soon with extension at the back. Have you told family/friends (sure you have) about twins yet? What was everyone's reaction? When is next scan?

Rodeo - Awww at shetland ponies..they are so cute!

i want to get DS a rabbit, he was being so lovely to friend's pet cat the other day. Advisable? or just a novely that i will be dealing with.

Have lovely weekends all. My two are asleep and DH is making me a sandwich post horrid sickness. Love to all x

GreedyGecko · 02/02/2008 18:30

Hi everyone, very of your snow twinkle. Would love some down here.

Am getting ready to go out, very busy wek here, friends birthdya today, staff 'Christmas' do tues, and going out with fcollege friends on weds.

I feel really bad saying this Diege, but Ive signed te contract today for my house, so should be exchanging very soon. (There are a few of the mums at schoo who have had their houses on the market for months with no real interest, so they'r all very jealous of me having sold it so quick). What they don't realise is that its been sold for £30K under value. That's why it sold so quickly!

Rodeo, how lovely at waking up to Shetland Ponies on your garden, bet the LOs loved that?

Nova, will have a look at your pics later, just need to find a link I've got to the Y group.

Anyway, really must go, gotta dry & straighten my hair.

See ya! I'll try to avoid drunken ramblings later!

twinkle1 · 02/02/2008 21:27

Chcha,
Everyone knows its twins, i look like i have a space hopper up my jumper
I see the midwife next week and then another scan 1st week march. From about 24 weeks i have a scan every 2 weeks,I should take out a season ticket

Diege · 03/02/2008 18:11

Hello! Great news GG on house sale! Don't feel bad,I'm pleased for you!! . Do you have any definite plans for where you're moving to after the rubbish bigot of a landlord business? .
Hi to everyone! Boo to sickness CHACHA - are you feeling any relief from it? Even a tiny bit? A sandwich-making dh sounds the business . TWINKLE: will let you know this week about dates for (my) half-term meet-up. Looking forward to it! (I'll look out for the spacehopper . RODEO, loved the shetland pony story - they obviously have taste and headed for a horse-lover's lawn .
Hi to all - best get on with marking. Have been left to it by dh who's taken dds to MIL this afternoon (yah!) to give me a chance to get some done, but you know how it is...I go by Murphy's law 'the time taken for a job is in direct proportion to the time available' .
Right, they're back

BTKsmum · 03/02/2008 18:33

Just a quickie as we're the house of the sick and whinging.

Nova great photos, bet your dh will love them

GG great news about the house, hope it all goes smoothly.

Love to all Beks

Rodeo · 03/02/2008 21:51

Evening
Good luck with the marking Diege! Did you manage to get much done with the girls at MIL? Or would you be like me and procrastinate for a few hours (watching Countryfile, second breakfasts etc.) before realising 'Oh bum they're back...'
Beks, oh poo, not sickness again, hope it's nothing too serious and you're all well again soon
GG, good news on house sale where are you moving? Will try and find you link to have a gander at Nova's pics
Twinkle, I'm so excited with your new twins! Your scan pics are lovely! They look like they're in different sacs on the images, do you know if they're identical or non-identical yet?
Chacha - I'd hold off on the rabbit just yet unless you really really want one. If it's just for ds's then I'd say wait a couple of years. How about a goldfish for now?! Rabbit's are bloomin' evil anyway LOL at Twinkle's 'super family sleigh' you're not wrong there
We went to Waterworld in Stoke today and it was great! We all had a fab time, even Jess went down the slides! It's not that far from you Diege - kept seeing signs for Warrington, you should go! While we were there, a boy with learning difficulties (about 16ish?) took a shine to Jess, though she was having none of it, so he turned his affections to Joe and started stroking his hair His carer was saying '[name], I know you are being kind but please just look, don't touch' Gosh, it broke my heart
Off to watch the end of Calendar Girls, having just watched my current fave - Larkrise to Candleford - does anyone else watch it? Just like a visual cake and cup of tea, lovely

Well, house is back on thmarket. Had a call from agents today, not really got a clear reason for them pulling out, but tbh she agrees with me that the buiyers dad didn't want her to buy it and as finding faults with the house tat aren't tere. So the landlord of the house I was going to have actually did me a favour. Anyway, we've reduced the price, and have viewing for tomorrow, so fingers crossed.

Diege · 04/02/2008 20:20

Oh no GG! . Having said that, better for them to pull out now that weeks later iyswim. And to have another viewing so soon sounds very encouraging .
RODEO, have never heard of this waterworld you speak of . Sounds good fun, althoughy I'm not mad keen on swimming - hate the wet body dry clothes scenario!
Can't get into that Larkrise thing myself - although I did enjoy Cranford! . My fave at the mo is Mistresses - love it!
TWINKLE, could you do next Wednesday at Salford Quays? (13th?). Thurs also possible, but wed a bit easier with timings etc .
Right, must put away tesco on-line shop before resuming marking! dh is at parents eve for dd1, so we'll see what she's been up to!

BrownieBells · 04/02/2008 21:34

Hello all - jsut a quick dive on from me...sorry to hear that the sick germs have foudn there way to others houses think I am now on the mend (hoorah!) and DS is doing grand - althought htere is no sign of a 2yr check down here - should there be? Is eveyone having one?

It would have been my Grandad's brithday today - so me and T went to where his ashes are int he garden of rememberance, and we sang happy birhtday! (glad no-one else was around, they would have thought we were nutters!) it was lovely, T kept syaing where's Grandpa? I had to try and explain that he is in Heaven now, but is all around us, and we can see him always (and he can see us too, so lets wear our smart blue shoes! )

Def don't think I wil make London meet up - far too much Brownie stuff goign on over the next few months (up till July!), so hope no-one will hold it against me, and that I will still be allowed in the gang? (whispers shyly, will you all still love me and visit Strat sometime in the future?)

Think T is having a growth spurt - he hasn't had a nap in the day for the last 3 days, but has had some mega lie-ins (9.45am this morning - come on!!!!!) not sure it will last, but am enjoing it while it does!

Right off to trawl the web now
p.s. Nova - absolutely fab foxy pics - you are a stunner!

Love
B
