Thanks Diege
My sister made me laugh today - she'd asked me recently if I wanted be a bridesmaid to which I said 'Ooh not sure, maybe' because she's already asked for Bella & Jess to be her BMs and maybe a family of BMs is weird? Well today she's bought me a dress! She'd seen it in Monsoon and as there was only one size 10 left, bought it! I'm yet to try it on but it's here, what do you think?

Diege · 15/04/2008 22:18

Oh RODEO it's beautiful, absolutely perfect . When is the wedding??? Oh and I think a family of bridesmaids is sweet (and you HAVE to wear that dress!!!)

twinkle1 · 16/04/2008 09:28

Diege · 16/04/2008 11:04

Oh no TWINKLE, that sounds horrendous!!
Sorry to detract from it all by asking about London, but are you still on for the meet? Just need to know as dh needs to know etc for work cover yadda yadda...
Sound pretty nightmarish though - hang in there, and get the mediceid in

BTKsmum · 16/04/2008 11:49

Morning girls

Rodeo you are not an idiot, family life has a habit of taking over everything else! That dress is beautiful and I think a family of bridesmaids is lovely and you won't be sitting in a pew or wherever thinking will they behave, are they going to wander off etc! I was Bestwoman for my friend last year so I could look after the kids, it works really well.

Twinkle ofh no I really do sympathise, Tom has just had the ear & chest infection its a nightmare, with all of them sick you must be pulling your hair out. Make sure your dh does his bit as those wigglers must be wearing you out.

Am glad to say we are finally a well house at last, apart from dh that is who is still in pain from his hernia as they did nerve damage at the same time and they don't expect him to get full feeling back in the top of his thigh for another two months and that it will be 5 to 6 months before he is fully recovered - they didn't tell that before he had the op!!!

Right ratbags are in thebath so better go and mop up the flood, will check again later to see whats happenig Beks

twinkle1 · 16/04/2008 12:49

Hi Diege,

twinkle

Diege · 16/04/2008 14:16

Yah!!! That's great Twinkle . I could do with getting out of the house too - even just sitting on a train for 3 hours seems wonderful!!
I'll post later so that we can sort out times etc.

BTKsmum · 16/04/2008 17:19

great news girls, looking forward to saturday.

A call out toall, southerners - who's meeting up please!!!

Panda do you want to drive up in the morning, then we can go and meet the girls in town?

Right off to football pactice then magic practice, speak soon Beks

Diege · 16/04/2008 20:39

OK Twinkle, the train I mentioned leaves Piccadily at 10.58 am on Saturday (I get in from Warrington at 10.40) and it gets us into London Euston at 14.12.
If this is OK, I could meet you at Piccadily as soon as I get in at 10.40 (give or take a few minutes to get to the main station concourse). Hopefully I can get you on the pregnant women's hoist and up to the relavnt platform in 18 minutes .
So Beks, if we get this train we will be in LOndon Euston at 14.12 . It will be such a treat to visit London for something non-work related!!

BTKsmum · 17/04/2008 10:47

Nice one Diege, will give Panda a call now and work out with her what time she's getting up and we'll work out where the best place is to meet for everyone from there.

AmIWhatAndWhy · 17/04/2008 11:10

Hi all! I'm glad to hear the meet is still on. ChaCha, can you make it?

I'm not sure what I'll do yet. I do need to go into Bromley to return some things on Saturday morning so could perhaps meet BTK there head to town if thats what is planned?

Otherwise I could just come to BTKs later on?

I'll post my phone numbers on yahoo.

twinkle1 · 17/04/2008 11:36

Hi all,
Diege, I can get the 9.30 train from the village that will get me to picadilly for 10.12 then i will have time to buy some food, mags etc for the journey. The next train after that leaves at 10.12 but will not get me to picadilly till 10.49!!! to close for comfort.I would rather be there a bit early and can then go at my own pace (slow, very slow
It is 62.60 for my tickets and i can just buy them at the station on sat.Im really looking forward to it,just a bit worried i will slow everyone down
right im about to load the car with sick kids and go through the Mcdonalds drive thru Im suffering cabin fever
Twinkle

twinkle1 · 17/04/2008 11:39

Oh forgot to say anyone else had snow today???? very festive NOT!!!! has melted now but moors are still all white
Twinkle

ChaCha · 17/04/2008 12:20

All not well at moment, DS2 the worst and still being sick - it's that bug - really hits the kids hard. You never know, maybe DH can cope and will drive me down for a few hours - i will of course post again if it seems possible. Doesn't help that am still sick myself - sorry for quick me post, DS2 has not long thrown up over sofa and DS1 is posting new magnet trains through letta box ... lveo x

Diege · 17/04/2008 13:23

Aww CHACHA that sounds horrendous tbh Let us know how you get on, and fingers crossed for Saturday .
TWINKLE - sounds like a plan! Of course you won't slow us down, and if you do, so what, we're in no rush . Are you happy to meet at station concourse/entrance at 10.40 ish??? Agree, we needs lots of snacks and mags - I'll stock up at Warrington so that I don;t have panic buying at Piccadily!!!
I will check the numbers on yahoo so we can ring etc if train is delayed. I will be travelling light, and may even abandon my precious GHDs, so scuzzy northerner alert!!!

BTKsmum · 17/04/2008 13:57

lol Diege have got some straighteners here although not up to GHD standrard

Twinkle don't worry you won't slow anyone down we're virtually kid free remember, slow is the pace we all want to travel this weekend!

Have spoken to Panda, she is going to get to me for about 12:30ish, then we'll head into town once she's had a cuppa

AmIWhat&Why do you want to come to me once you've done your bits in Bromley, I'll post my address and everything on Y, then the three of us can go into London together. Will you have the little ones with you?

Sorry to be selfish Diege and Twinkle but will you be ok getting to Victoria Station on your own, it's just that Panda and I will have the 3 boys with us and it could be a bit chaotic trying to get them across town with buggies etc. Let me know if you'd rather we meet you at Euston

Chacha hope you're feeling better hun, will be lovely to see you but don't put yourself under any pressure.

Dh suggests we get the kids to sleep and either eat then pop round the pub ( a two minute stumble away even for Twinkle) or eat at the pub!!!

Diege · 17/04/2008 14:32

Sounds great Beks! I'm sure Victoria will be fine to get to - is it within walking distance of Euston, or do we get one of those strange things that you talk of down south - ah yes, the 'tube'? Any advice about where to go from Euston to get to Victoria would be appreated, although I'll have a look at tube map too.
Plans sound great too, I'm easy to go with the flow!

mypandasgotcrabs · 17/04/2008 19:55

Ooh! Getting excited at seeing you all on Sat. ChaCha, hope you & LOs are on the mend. Oh, for some GHDs (was supposed to be my birthday pressent last year, but obviously wasn't going to stay with him for another few months just to get my birthday present!) Getting out to the pub sounds like a great plan! Just need to make sure S stays awake on drive up otherwise he won't sleep 'til 10.

novadandypowder · 17/04/2008 20:04

Ladies, I've had a quick chat with 'the artist formerly known as Bob' (), and I think it may be wise to find somewhere to meet, rather than just rocking up in Victoria on a (predicted) wet saturday afternoon with lots of kids in tow. I've had a quick look online, and will do a bit more, but I found Corams Fields, which is a childrens farm/playground:

You can find Coram's Fields in the heart of London, close to the British Museum, Great Ormond Street Hospital, the Foundling Museum (a separate charity) and within reach of many central London children's attractions.

Opening times
Open every day except Christmas and Boxing Day
Summer: 9am - 7pm
Winter: 9am - dusk

Address
93 Guilford Street
London

Transport Links
By Rail:
Euston, St Pancras and King's Cross (10 mins walk)

Nearest tube:
Russell Square (Piccadilly Line)

The Transport for London website is very useful for planning your journey

It says you can get to it from Euston, so it may be a bit easier than to get to for the non-Londoners??

I'll keep looking, but it says on their website you can hire halls for parties and I don't mind seeing if they have one free at very short notice tomorrow (which I can cover money wise), otherwise it has a cafe if it's raining, or we can take our own food and drink in if it's not, and the kidlies can run around to their hearts content.

Have checked with DH and I can make the meet up in the evening too

ChaCha · 17/04/2008 21:56

Sounds lovely Nova, a good afternoon to be had there i'm sure.
Am going to have to give a definite miss i'm afraid which is a shame as i was looking forward to it. DS2 has just thrown up all over bed and carpet (now regret the steamed veg and chicken i'd given him thinking it would be alright) and DS1 after having poohed in bath has been complaining about his tummy so have decided it's best to be here with them - in all honesty my DH just couldn't cope when they're like this and i really could do without the stress of worry while away. Hope you all understand. Have fun for me

Twinkle - also sorry to read about poorly DC, hoping all better asap x

feetheart · 17/04/2008 22:24

ChaCha - that's a real shame but sounds sensible too. Hopefully see you another time, maybe we can come your way later in the year and go gooey over all your lovely babies

Count me in for Saturday though I'll let you all sort out the details then hop on board! Had planned to drive to BEKS but may do train if meeting in London is on the cards, will reduce possibility of having to call RAC out to DH's crappy car.

Coram's Fields was lovely 25+ years ago when I did my Uni placement at GOSH, bet its changed a bit since though!

Really looking forward to it.

Diege · 18/04/2008 09:09

Sounds good NOVA . I've taken down the details. Our train gets in 2ish, so shall we just make out way to Coram Fields?
I'll get tel numbers now, so touch wood we should be fine
not to be meeting you CHACHA, and fingers crossed the boys will start to feel better soon (and you too!) xx

Diege · 18/04/2008 09:18

OK, I think I have your moby number BEKS, but could you possibly e-mail me with it or post again on yahoo? [email protected]
Thanks!

twinkle1 · 18/04/2008 09:31

Diege, im glad you are organised with numbers etc, im having pregnancy brain
yes will meet on main concourse around 10.40 ish.Sound great
twinkle

Diege · 18/04/2008 09:57

That's good TWINKLE I was worried for a second that you might think I was 'taking over' what with my control-freakery with arrangements etc...Think it comes from me not driving - I have learnt that you can never be too organised when it comes to public transport . See you tomorrow
