Nova, you're helping lots! You're right, I don't want to be 'settling down' just yet. Yes, the sailor is off to the gulf in August/September for 6mths+. No, there's no chance they would know each other, and go out in different places, so I wouldn't bump into one when out with the other. Looks like it's decided...multi-dating it is!

Oh, and your drunken date did make me lol! At least you made it to the toilet!

Diege · 13/04/2008 06:56

Morning . Panda, if it were me I'd stick with the one I was seeing at the moment, unless of course the whole set up 'casual' and it was never the intention not to see other people. If not, and I really wanted to see lots of people and not just confine myself to a 'relationship', then I think I'd tell him. Just my personal take, but I hate decpetion in relationships, even the 'light' ones, and would always be worrying if he'd find out - plus (emotional guilt trip coming up) hasn't the poor sod just lost his grandad? .
Just another take on the situation . Hope you enjoyed your peace and quiet - was very reading about your 'being bored' dilemma .
Enjoyed reading about your past too Nova , some great stories there!

novadandypowder · 13/04/2008 08:39

I wouldn't say multi-dating was necessarily deception - hey, they do it in New York (can't wait for the Sex & the City movie). Unless it's been agreed they were 'exclusive' I don't see the harm in keeping your options open. Maybe you should reverse the situation - how would you feel if the other guy was also dating someone else?

ooo the stories of dating mis-haps I could tell you - there was the one where I caught scabies a few days before the date (just moved into a new house and the bed was infected!), I had to go completely covered up including a neck scarf as my skin was covered in an itchy rash. At a work party of DH's when we'd first started dating I got rather drunk and got really shitty with him for chatting to an attractive blonde. Turns out she was the wife of one of his clients - I don't know why he didn't dump me there and then! Then there was the time a guy came to chat me up for his friend - I ended up with the guy for 2 years then dumped him and went out with his friend for 2 years. I had some fun, that's for sure!

mypandasgotcrabs · 13/04/2008 09:42

nova, lol! You must tell us more! Are you meeting us Saturday?

Oooh! 2 very differing opinions! I did think about telling them both that I was seeing other people, but thought would they both tell me where to go? NM does want more than just a 'casual' relationship, but I've told him I can't do that right away. If sailor was one of the others that I've had dates with it wouldn't have bothered me, I'd have quite easily said, 'sorry, seeing someone else now', but I did really like him, we got on really well, and if I'd have believed him about wanting to see me again I wouldn't have looked elsewhere! But NM is lovely, quite easily the nicest guy I've ever met, and it seems genuine.

mypandasgotcrabs · 13/04/2008 11:01

and good luck Mr Diege in the marathon today!

Diege · 13/04/2008 11:42

Oh God here I go again, but is it this Saturday coming that we are meeting?? (ie, 19th??) That's fine, but I also had in the back of my mind for some reason the 26th .
Still plumping for you NM Panda , esp after you say he's the nicest man you've ever met. Think NOVA's suggestion of asking yourself how you would feel if he were to see other women without mentioning it, is a good test .
Well, we've not spotted dh yet, unsurprisingly, and have given up wathcing as the dds were getting cross not being able to see him . Mum and dad due here shortly, so speak later x
Putting out a first call for RODEO and TWINKLE!!!!!! We need to sort out trains and times etc (not sure what the 'line' from Derby is like - and if it would be possible to coordinate trains???)

novadandypowder · 13/04/2008 12:39

Diege I had forgotten Mr Diege was running the marathon. Does he have a sponsorship page on Just Giving?

twinkle1 · 13/04/2008 17:15

Hi diege,
let me know what time the train leaves picadilly and i will get down there in plenty of time
Im going to take as little as possible with me as i cant carry myself let alone luggage!!!!!
Twinkle

Diege · 13/04/2008 17:59

Hi TWINKLE . I'll check out the times and let you know asap. I'll need to travel off-peak (£££!!!), which will probably just effect the coming home (though not sure about Sundays, maybe all off-peak then??). So it is THIS Saturday coming then, 19th??.
Hi NOva, no don't think dh has a sponser page, though I will check. Heard from him earlier and he finished in 4 hours 20 which he is pleased with as it's 20 mins off last time . I feel tired just thinking about it!

mypandasgotcrabs · 13/04/2008 19:34

Well Done Mr Diege, that's a great time! Feel exhausted just thinking about it!

Yes, this weekend Diege! Am going to have to study my route from the motorway!

Diege · 13/04/2008 20:29

Thanks Panda! Twinkle, have checked out the times of the trains, and I propose the 10.58am from Piccadily. A little later than we originally planned, but it will take me longer to get to Warrington station to get to Piccadily as we don't have the car on that day. Going back, the 12.10 from Euston will get us into Piccadily at about quarter to 4, though would have to check exact time as I got them for Warrington (durr). Sooo, if you let me know if this time is OK (please say if not) we can firm up arrangements .

twinkle1 · 13/04/2008 20:56

sounds great to me
how much are tickets????
Twinkle

Diege · 13/04/2008 21:38

OK, are you sitting down [gulp]. Mine would be £62.60, though that's from Warrington, via Manchester, so yours from Hadfield (??) might be a little less. Not bad I suppose compared to weekday open tickets etc, but still a bit week before payday!!!

Diege · 13/04/2008 21:39

Oh and I don't mean to say you southerners aren't worth it

ChaCha · 14/04/2008 17:19

Hi girls,
Good luck Panda with whatever you decide, whatever makes you happy! Diege - Well done to DH and sending everyone else a big hand wave..

..boys are still under the weather and i'm not too great myself. Is still early in the week so will see how we all are by Friday - as for today I just can't wait to bedtime although finding it difficult to sleep thanks to wriggly baby and last trimester discomfort feelings.

I know you all missed a good moan from me so there you have it!

Love to everyone, here's hoping we get better asap! x

BTKsmum · 14/04/2008 19:18

Hi girls I am still here and looking forward to Saturday, let me know if you want me to meet yu anywhere in particular. I'll have T with me but that shouldn't be a problem.

Eek at the price though Diege, you guys are good coming down to see us southerners

BTKsmum · 14/04/2008 19:19

Sorry meant to say congratulations to Mr Diege on his marathon, what a star!

Diege · 14/04/2008 21:33

Thanks for all your congrats for dh - he was really touched . Nova, seems he does have a page on Justgiving - the link is
www.justgiving.com/its_jonwood
Hope you're feeling better soon CHACHA, though your mention of third trimester wriggles did make me a bit broody!!
Anyone heard from RODEO btw?? It's your second call RODEO, come in RODEO!!!

Rodeo · 14/04/2008 21:45

Hello
Sorry it's been so long, don't know where the time has gone. Don't think I can make this weekend, sorry It's crept up so fast and I haven't sorted anything, dp at work on Saturday and my mum's gone to Ireland, the children have parties, Jessie's on antibiotics (not sure that's relevant though), have just looked about getting a day ticket for Sunday but it's £100 plus, so really really sorry to let you all down.
Diege, was thinking of your dh yesterday while watching the marathon, congratulations to him! Did he enjoy it? I'd love to have a full race report! Was toying with the idea of applying but not sure I could go that far!
GG - how's the multi-dating going?! I used to attempt it pre-dp but I was so rubbish and always got caught, and dates regularly flounced off (it used to be called two-timing back in the day - not that I'm saying you are two-timing, think multi-dating is quite acceptable nowadays (?) I'm not sure to be honest.....obv. ignore my advice - clueless is the word)
Right better get the little ratbag off to bed, she's decided tonight she's not sleepy and is full of the joys, but I'm tired! Ooh dp has just come downstairs without his beard! Speak tomorrow (promise!) x x x

Hi girls

Rodeo good to see you post, its a real shame you can't make it on Saturday, was looking forward to seeing you.

Chacha hope you and the boys are feeling better, as looking forward to seeing you.

Diege and Twinkle have you booked your tickets yet? If not are you sure you want to spend quite so much coming down. £62.00 is a hell of a lot of money for a night in

Panda you sound like you have plenty to keep your weeknd full too

If it is all getting too much for everyone can I suggest that us southerners hire a 7 seater and do a meet up in the middle of the country once the new babies are born 'cos you know we're all going to want to meet the 3 new arrivals, its bad enough that we haven't seen miniman & Y yet let alone 3 more!

Obviously I'm here and more than happy to carry on with the plans as arranged just let me know

mypandasgotcrabs · 15/04/2008 11:10

Hi, gutted to hear you can't make it Rodeo.

BTKs, this weekend is mine with the boys, so I will only be sat at home doing nothing if I don't come up. Of course if everyone else thinks ti better to leave it for now, that's cool, but I'm still happy to come up.

BTKsmum · 15/04/2008 19:12

Panda great will be really good to see you all, Bens really excited about seeing the boys later in the day too

Diege · 15/04/2008 20:29

Hello!!! Oh no RODEO, after all the planning!!! I'm happy to wait a bit until you can come too, though would be eqaully happy to stick to the plan too, as long as TWINKLE is still OK? I haven't booked a ticket yet, and will probably do so on the day as we've missed the £20 off advance booking malarky!!
If you can let me know if you're still on board Twinkle, so I can confirm if the norhterners are on green or amber alert!!

Rodeo · 15/04/2008 21:38

Hello,
I know, I know! I'm really disappointed, I'm an idiot for not getting things sorted sooner, I'm really sorry...
Coming to the end of our 'Easter' hols, seems like they've been off for ages! Been swimming today which was just cold, trying to fill days with at least one activity to tire them out. Supposed to be planning a day out for Thursday or Friday, so we're trying to decide on something, god knows what the weather's going to be like though, warm one minute and hailing the next...
Anyway, going to have an early night, reading the Northern Lights books at the moment and they're really good, so shall have a read and nod off. Feeling tired at the moment, maybe I need iron tablets...
Bye for now x x x

Diege · 15/04/2008 21:42

Hi RODEO, don't worry!!! You're not an idiot at all , these things have a habit of creeping up behind you and biting you on the bum!!! Can't believe your Easter hols are still on ..take care and get some rest - it sounds exhausting in the Rodeo household !! diege x
