Oh - GG - hope all better now, sounds like a night from hell...hopefully you'll get some rest soon.....will you be able to get some kind of rest / pampering tomorrow from any quarters (thinking your parents or anyone to help the kids do nice things for Mummy?) Here's hoping and wishing for you...

Diege...on migraine front, (no probs on the nosey front by the way), the only medication that I can get to work is Ibuprofen...have to take it as soon as I get the flashing lights, or else am wiped out....Have tried pretty much everything else the Doc can prescribe (apart from beta blockers - but can't have them as have asthma), have tried Immigran injections the works, but none of it works tbh - hey ho!

Am having my parents and mil over tomorrow for big Mothers day lunch...should be nice, don't even mind if I have to do cooking, as long as I get a lie in!!!!!

Hope everyone else is doing well, and has a fab day tomorrow....

Love B

Happy Mothers Day girls, hopw you're all being spoilt

Diege · 02/03/2008 13:20

Hi Beks, Happy Mothers Day to all!! Hopefully everyone is just surfacing from their lengthy lie-ins . We have caught GGs house of sick bug, waking up to dd1 being sick . Everything just about calmed now though, and we have had our offer accpeted on the funky 70s house!!!!! Yah!!!! So much better for us, with 5 beds and garden, so fingers crossed now that GOC doesn't start his messing about again with our house!
BB, sounds like we have similar migraines. Immigram doesn't do much for me either, although strangely enough anadin extra of all things takes the edge off if taken at the first signs. Have been told to stay off the beta blockers as we'll be ttc soon, although once I've had LO4, I'll certaintly consider them!
Hope everyone is having a lovely day, and speak later xxx

BrownieBells · 02/03/2008 19:19

Yay on the house Diege...great news. Any pics you can let us look at? Whereabouts is it? (as know some of the areas around you due to family being up there....sorry, nosey-ness creeping in there! we need a nosey emoticon!)

Hope all have had a great mothers day, and that all sick people are feeling better.

T just gone down to bed, after much over excitement - not sure how much more of the same 2 episodes of balamory I can take!? must get him a dvd that has more on it and is longer!
He is just starting to get into in the night garden...dh's badminton partner works for ragdoll - but we're still no closer to working out who's who int he damn programme!

Diege on Migraine front - I have never suffered with vomitting as part of mine - just visual disturbance coupled with major sensitivity to light (which is pretty bad most of the time anyway!) followed by mega thumping headache! I know that they are hereditary to some degree, as my Dad gets mega ones too, as do some of his siblings, and my cousin used to get hemiplaegic migraines (paralysis down one side with these ones) though I think she has now progressed to more cluster style headaches...they are a bugger aren't they

Right off to trawl cyberspace...

Hi BB! The house is actually just 5 mins up the road from where we are now (Appleton in Warrington. I'd do a piccy if I could but you know my IT skills, can't even text .
We have been 'fans' of In the Night Garden for many a moon now, and I still can't work it out either. I do know that that bleedin' bird with its spooky song really gets on my nerves though!
Interesting about your migraines and the family thing. My mum used to suffer badly, but not aware of anyone else. Mine are the vomiting ones, with sensitivity to light, but luckily not the 'aura' ones. Hadn't heard of the paralysis ones [shudder]. Fingers crossed I have a couple of weeks respite now before next one!

twinkle1 · 02/03/2008 20:52

evening all,
On the migrane front, i have tried most things but found rectal paracetmol and anti sickness to be great hey when you are in that much pain i don't care what end it has to go in!!!!!Gp says its good because not only do i throw up but stomach and guts stop working & absorbing so oral meds no good
Really need some house pics Diege
twinkle

Diege · 02/03/2008 21:57

Twinkle, I think I'll stick with the migraine rather than stick things up my bum
Hey, just had a brainwave . Will get dh to go and take a photo of the house and put it on yahoo asap!!
Right, final push of ironing then bed!

greedygecko · 03/03/2008 20:31

Yay! Fab news Diege on funky 70's offer being accepted. How's dd1, hope the rest of you managed to escape it?

It seems most at school have had some kind of yuckiness thi last week, and we were all fine by Sat evening.

Hope everyone enjoyed Mothers Day. Mine was the same as any other day! Not looking for sympathy, just a fact. And tbh realised that actually, it was the same as the 6 Mothers Days that have come before it!

I'm really tired, but know there's no point trying to sleep now, so gonna mess about online and see of 'C' is online later.

Oh, and before I go, anyone heard from Londoner? SHe hasn't been on for a while & she's not on fb anymore.

Diege · 03/03/2008 21:22

Hi GG! . We're all better here now thanks - only really dd1 and me who got full blown bug, thank god!! Good attitude on Mothers Day - and have fu on the web .
Yes Londoner where are you!!!! Very busy I bet, but would be good to hear from you! We miss you .
Going to fire off a complaint to Next Flowers now while I'm still fired up. Mother's Day flowers delivered to my mum's at 8pm (apparently up to 10 was acceptable???)Not really my idea of a mother's day treat answering the door in your dressing gown to receive flowers when it's dark outside!!

Diege · 03/03/2008 21:23

have fun . Have 'fu' sounds a bit rude

greedygecko · 03/03/2008 21:37

Have been having fun , he he!!

at flowers. 10pm acceptable??? What?? Not surprised you're Diege.

twinkle1 · 04/03/2008 08:31

Morning all,
Its freezing here, moors are all covered in snow very pretty.Well the builders are still here!!!! they say today is def the last day!!!! we are now on week 4...... My mum has come down to help scrape but we cant start till builders go!!!! very frustrating.I just wish i had a magic wand to wave to make it all finished
Trying to sort out dd birthday party today as her b'day is March 15th so must get sorted.
Diege will your funky new house need much decorating??????? or is it all done.
right must take the minions to school.
Twinkle & Bumps

Diege · 04/03/2008 10:33

Morning Twinkle . Can't believe the builders are still with you Still, you can see the light at the end of the tunnel now, and think how great it will be in a few motnhs time . The new house is pretty much ready to move in to re: decor etc. Pretty neutral/IKEA-ish which suits me fine! And a proper bath rather than the round-ish one we have at the moment! The only 'concern' is where to put the girls' bedroom. The house is sort of on 3 levels. Front door through to hall, longe, dining room, kitchen, loo, utility, then there's a small starcase off the main stairs (about 3 steps up) that leads to 2 bedrooms. We're thinking of putting them in one of those. Our bedroom, and dd3, would be at the top of the main stairs. Seems good in that they can get up on their own etc without disturbing L (and any new baby!) but then dh a bit worried about security, with them being 'downstairs'. I can see his point, but maybe we're being overly-cautious? Any opinions would be great! (If you can follow!).
Keep warm Twinkle, and make sure the builders keep your front door shut today of all days!

BTKsmum · 05/03/2008 19:36

Hi girls

Have been reading but not had time to post as dh has had a hernia op and is suffering quite a bit.

Did see GG's mention of Londoner and sent her an e-mail, Londoner sends her love to everyone but has decided to have a break for a while as life is very hectic in her growing family. I'm sure she'll be back to see us all again soon.

Got to go the limpet is looking for me. Love to all Beks

ChaCha · 05/03/2008 20:54

Hope your DH gets well soon BTKS - can imagine that you have your hands full at the moment. Hope you're looking after YOU too. Pass best wishes on to Londoner should you talk again soon - i understand, barely have anytime for myself these days and that's with two (always time for a quick rematch though - see you there soon!)
Diege - congratulations on new home, fantastic news and what's with putting your foot in it with the ministers then?! Oh Diege!! GG - Glad you're all better now. Twinkle - How many weeks are you measuring now - how are you feeling? Coming up to my 18th week - pls tell me where that went?! 20 week scan end of month, gulp!

Hi to Rodeo, BB, Nova and anyone else who i missed - hope you are all well.
x

greedygecko · 05/03/2008 22:06

Hi all.

Get well soon wishes to Mr Beks. ChaCha, where has that time gone?

ds2 is officially mad! Walking down the road today, and he's sat in pushchair, both hands waving, "hello car", "hello car", "hello wall", "hello box", "hello gate"...at everything we walked past. I must have looked quite mad myself, laughing as I'm walking!

BTKsmum · 05/03/2008 23:19

lol GG been watching a bit too much Me Too me thinks!!!

greedygecko · 06/03/2008 00:04

What's Me Too? Is that on CBeebies? If so then, yeah he probably has, he seems to know everything on there, and I don't know how because we don't have the TV on at all.

greedygecko · 06/03/2008 12:54

OMG. How utterly stupid are the benefits agency. Hands up anyone here who can live on £20 a week?

twinkle1 · 06/03/2008 15:03

Benefits agency PANTS!!!!!
I couldnt live on 20quid a day.Have they been messing you about??????
Twinkle & bumps (feeling more like large boulders)

greedygecko · 06/03/2008 16:18

No thats the right amount. Because I get maintenance, that gets taken off the IS. I'd love whoever comes up with these figures to live in the real world some time!

twinkle1 · 06/03/2008 16:27

GG,
Im full of admiration!!!! I have the financial organisation skills of a slug
I think the people who decide on such things all live in huge houses with lots of cars and nannys!!!!! they just pick any random figure!!!!!!! not unlike how the tax credit people work really, but thats another story.
Im getting excited now as i have my 20 week scan next fri I will be in there for well over an hour!!! I may fall asleep on the bed if im still for that long
ChaCha how are you doing?? and when is your next scan????
Diege how is the house thing going????
I have been out to buy carpet today for the loft they are coming to fit it on Tue so must finish painting by then
Twinkle

Diege · 06/03/2008 17:51

Hi all! Well, it had to happen. GOC has decided he doesn't want to buy our house anymore so of course we can;t proceed with the sale of funky 70s house. Feeling really , and just wish we hadn't got the dds all excited. But then it's so hard to play it cool when you really think things arev going well!! Will feel better tomorrow, but atm feel a bit . Plus I have to break to news to dh tonight as he's working away.
GG, might be worth popping into the CAB to make sure that you're claiming absolutely everything you're entitled to? If you're looking for work/training I'm sure it comes to more than this, though of coursen it could be the maintenance that's causing the problems. If you you might need to address that rather than benefits, as it's obviously not enough to live on. If it's what you're left with after all expenses, that's slightly different again.
Things sound good TWINKLE what with carpet-laying and so on!! We'll have to see if we can arrange another meet-up at the Lowry over Easter perhaps? dds break up on the 20th here .
Good to hear from you CHACHA!! Can't believe how quickly your pregnancy is going!! While I remember, me putting my foot in it related to me asking a senior gov minister in a Board meeting about the political motivations for withholding data about GCSE results. I basically asked him to account for a certain set of data that was missing and was being witheld. There was a bit pause, and then someone else said 'That's a very brave question'!! Not sure it was the most diplomatic start, but still they know what I'm like now!!!
Right, better get on with it, L screaming after missing her sleep at lunch

greedygecko · 07/03/2008 17:40

Oh no Diege. I think you were probably expecting something like that from GOC though weren't you?

My buyers pulled out this morning, but a guy who put in an offer before that has come back and I've accepted that offer now even though it's ridiculously low.

I have quadruple checked the benefits that I am entitled to and yes, £19.15 a week is right! So in total I have £94 a week for everything. Hopefully this sale will go through really quickly then at least I'll be able to get HB then.

Diege · 07/03/2008 18:48

Hi GG! It must be one of those weeks for selling houses! Hopefully yours will go through OK now . We've dropped the price on ours today, so fingers crossed we should get something soon. DDs are still writing lists of what they're going to do in the new house - really wish we hadn't said anything to them, but what do we say when they're with us on the viewings??
Boo to the benefits - that really is poor really gets me cross when people go on about those on benefits. Have they tried living on such a rubbish amount? Fingers crossed for your house sale!!
