Double doh!

BTKsmum · 25/02/2008 10:54

hi ladies, was playing scrabble with Chacha last night and we hatched a plan re the london meet up. How would everyone feel about descending on my house for the day / evening as Chacha is hard to please and twinkle will be easy to waer out, so we thought we could kick back at mine and get a curry, drink wine etc and be totally lazy. I'm only 15 20 mins from london so travels not a problem. Let me know what you think

GG glad to hear your having a good time but being sensible too!

I'm a bit ashamed to say that I haven't even thought abot potty training T yet am hanging out for the summer.

Hope everyone is well, Londoner where are you? Catch up soon Beks

Diege · 25/02/2008 13:10

Sounds like a plan BEKS!! Can you remind me which weekend we finally decided on ??

greedygecko · 25/02/2008 14:19

Its 19th/20th April Diege!

novadandypowder · 25/02/2008 14:20

Rodeo, noo started pre-school this week. She had some settling in sessions last week, but is really quite upset by the whole change. Hope she settles soon, must be a bit odd going from being the oldest to the youngest with lots of boisterous older kids running around. They have a much nicer outdoor bit though and I think it will be good for her.

novadandypowder · 25/02/2008 14:20

they don't need them to be toilet trained though - phew

Rodeo · 25/02/2008 15:46

Afternoon,
B & J both at after-school clubs and Jess in engrossed in Peppa Pig so sneaking on here
Nova, I'm starting to feel nervous about tomorrow now! She's in the Rising 3's session, so think lots of the children will be in nappies. I'm going to send in pull-ups just on the off chance she might use the toilet (haha!) Hope N settles in soon, I'm sure she will, she's an old hand at this nursery malarky
Beks, plan sounds good (Must sort train ticket out!)
Have you heard about your offer yet Diege, hope they're not dragging it out! I didn't bother with Last Enemy either, but now feel cheated out of 1.5 hrs of life
Hope you got on ok at hospital GG, good news on Sold board!
Better get off to peel some potatoes, having our Sunday dinner tonight after dp decided he wanted Chinese yesterday, and I'm trying to be less controling at home (after dp complained about it last week ) so succumbed, even though I was thinking 'WHAT??!!' inside x x x

Thanks GG!! The reason I was double-checking [ahem] was because the following weekend is our first bout of ttc-ing ,not that this would have effected our trip! Hope you're feeling better btw .
RODEO, Jess will be fine! And think of the FREE TIME you will have!!
Well, they have rejected our final offer on our no.1 house (tight bast**ds) so it's onto the second choice now (funky 70s). Something quite satisfying about 'stepping away' though. Bet they expect us to come back with a higher one, but no chance, that was our best. Congrats on yours GG!!! I remember waiting and waiting for the Sold sign on the first house I bought. I couldn;t quite beleive it when it appeared! (then I had to wait months for them to take it down after I'd moved in!!).
Right, food ready, back later

BrownieBells · 25/02/2008 20:54

Hello, waves
GG - echo Diege's advice - be careful hon, you deserve happiness, but make sure you are safe.
Also - congrats on house sale, and rental situation - mega cool!

Diege, ttc in April!? My DH is mega excited about the whole prospect! but I think ours starts in March!....might need to stock up on folic acid...

Twinkle, good news on pram and all twin paraphanalia...

We haven't started potty training yet, although T has asked to wear pants a couple of times, think Nursery are starting after Easter....

he is now singing Humpty Dumpty, ring a ring a roses, twinkle twinkle, Little Peter Rabbit, among other songs! He is just too cute, and is then a little bugger! Can't stay mad for long tho - he is now into giving either big squeezie hugs, or bear hugs!

Right, off to watch Hotel Babylon, recorded from the other night....

Hello
Well playgroup went well! She says she has enjoyed it, she got a bit panicky when we left her but I just made a bee-line for the door! Her keyworker said she was fine just getting a bit upset when they had to change her. I spend my morning off mucking out and riding, so 12.30 came round really quickly. See how she get's on on Thurs
Twinkle, good to hear you are well, I'm excited about this ttc-ing too!
Diege, never mind about house, I always prefered the sound of funky 70's anyway
Really windy here, just went into kitchen to see washing all over the lawn!
Speak later x

Diege · 26/02/2008 21:46

Great news RODEO! See, it wasn't too bad! . Riding andf mucking out sounds a good morning. I usually end up with loads of plans when I have child-free time, but always feel I've wasted it somehow!
Right, I'm up to bed as have an early one tomorrow. I'm down to Cardiff to do that academic advisory role I think I mentioned a while ago? - me with a load of suits (bet they'll ask me where the tea is )so back Thursday night. Really looking forward to my hotel sleep!

twinkle1 · 27/02/2008 09:56

Well the earth def moved for me last night!!! and dh was in the N/E!!!!!

twinkle

Rodeo · 27/02/2008 10:20

Oh god Twinkle, it was awful! I've never felt as terrified as I did last night, the house shook so bad I thought we were goners. It was so loud too. I was shaking like I was in shock, and my heart rate must have been about 180 for about 10 minutes. Really horrible. I'm still shaky this morning!
Hope your thing goes well Diege! Enjoy your sleep and time away!
Off to housework now, though think I could do with a chamomile tea, might did out the old rescue remedy too
Hope everyone else is ok, speak later x

OMG Rodeo & Twinkle. Heard a little about this on Chris Moyles this morning (my one & only news sources ). Sounded like quite a biggun. Glad you're all OK though.

BTKsmum · 27/02/2008 19:55

Blimey girls, glad to hear you are all ok, i was asked by a stranger if i felt the earth move last night - how funny is that he blushed purple when he realsied what he'd said

Love to all

Beks

ChaCha · 28/02/2008 18:21

Quick post, hope everyone is well - at earthquake, thought i heard wrong when listening to news yesterday!!
Post again next free time xx

Diege · 29/02/2008 10:32

Hello! Back from Cardiff, and getting over bad migraine (v.stressful meeting - diege putting her foot in it with government ministers ). Have to say the earth didn;t move for me at all! Feel quite jealous of those for whom it did, though would have been seriously scared!!
Day at home today, so catching up on washing/ironing etc. Dh seems to just leave everything where it drops (eg. dds socks/pants) so I come back to a series of little piles of things .
Hope everyone is having a good day, and that we all get spoiled rotton on Sunday

BrownieBells · 29/02/2008 10:50

Hey all! The earth moved in Stratford, I felt it, but then thought I'd had a dream (as DH didn't stir - to be honest I only felt it cos was awake arleady having just heard T!) then found out it was an earthquake the next day on the news!

Diege - sympathy on the migraine front...did yours get worse in pg? thankfully mine didn't, but headaches are so frequent for me anyway....

Well, things are looking up here....new car now been delivered - it is sitting on drive (can't drive it till tomorrow, as not registered till then !) it looks so cool!! Also having garage door fitted - that also looks smart...

DS at nursery, so dh and I are getting lots of jobs done - well that's the plan! need to de-clutter and get organised!

hope all are well, and that things are looking up for everyone....roll on Sunday!!

x

Diege · 29/02/2008 11:20

Roll on Sunday indeed BB!! A proper lie-in and breakfast in bed I hope . My migraines actually disappeared during my pregnancies, but when I'm not pregnant I get about 2 to 3 every month (stress and hormone-related). Am on the seond day of an attack now, so at that woosey stage. At least I'll drop a pound or 2 as I can't eat/drink at all during an attack. Being nosey, what meds etc work for yours?
New car sounds great - we are at the other end of the spectrum, as we carshare now and it's going well at the mo!
Well, dh has just rang to say he's put the offer in on the funky 70s house, so fingers crossed we will have bought a new house by next week!! Really, really want this house!

twinkle1 · 29/02/2008 15:13

just a quickie,
Hope the migraine clears up
Good luck for the house hope its accepted
twinkle

Diege · 29/02/2008 15:50

Thanks Twinkle! Just counting down the hours till they're all in bed tbh!

greedygecko · 01/03/2008 11:32

Oh what a night! (TMI post coming up) We are the house of sick! ds1 for some reason liocked bathroom door, so by the time i get in theres sick & poo everywhere. Trying to clean it up then I'msick. ds1 stood in bath coming out of both ends. Then gethim cleaned up, ds2 refuses to go bac to bed as he wants a shower too! n the end had no sheets for any bed, after ds2 had stuff pouring out of his nappy. So have been cleaning sheets all day, had no sleep, on the plus sde, boys seem much better. Why can't adults recover as quickly as children do?

Diege · 01/03/2008 12:18

GG, arghh, I hate nights like those!! (makes you appreciate wellness so much!). Glad the worst seems to be over now though, and hope you don't get it yourself!
Well, we have put second offer in on 70s house, so waiting to hear back. We'll go up one more time, but will request they take it off the market so we don't face the dreaded 'gazzump'!!
Let me wish everyone a brilliant mother's day if I don't get on later
