Oh yes, I forgot to mention a huge WELL DONE to the swimming Twinkles. You must be a very proud mummy

novadandypowder · 20/02/2008 21:21

Crossed posts btks! we must be like buses - no posts for ages then they all come along at once.

Must say DH didn't end up getting the pics for valentines, have only just got round to sorting which ones I want to send off for re-working. Never mind....

Bet you must feel great about B being top of his class, is he going to get something lovely as a reward?

greedygecko · 20/02/2008 21:39

Ooh, I love these! Do you think I could stretch the 4s to a 5?

greedygecko · 20/02/2008 21:42

Oh and WRT job, I've been considering going for a while, they haven't exactly been accommodating since I splt with xp, and I've lost a lot of hours, so doesn't break my heart massively. Just need to find something more suitable hours wise, just at losing hte tips.

ChaCha · 21/02/2008 13:38

Hurray!! Some posts to read

GG - Sorry to hear that you've been unwell - how have you been coping with the boys? Are they both in nursery/school? Also sorry to hear about your job but with a boss like that perhaps better to move on - do you have any type of work in mind? I pray/hope that you find something asap.

Nova - So with you on the getting out the house more, I can't wait for those warm summer days - lots to do outdoors even if just in the garden with paddling pool or toys. Am looking forward to walks or waddles as it may be by then up to the bigger parks. Lovely to hear some snippets of what the LOs are getting up to. Awwww at Twinkle Twinkle,
DS1 can sing the Dingle Dangle Scarecrow (slightly edited version lol) - melts your heart and brings tears to my eyes especially when DS2 starts clapping and rocking back and forth with him.
He pronounces L as a Y so we have 'yaptop' 'yight' 'yabry'(library) which sound so funny and is fascinated with Thomas the Tank Engine, so much so that we bought him (mum and I) the railway, motor engines and various bits yesterday and he sat playing with it all for hours!!! The concentration was amazing. He knows the names of most trains and their numbers, i have had to learn them myself, colours, numbers and all!

Beks - Hope your enjoying family week. Rematch tonight my friend - I will be ready!!!!

Twinkle - Hope you and yours are all well. We are okay, I have good days and not so good days but that's how it goes eh. xx

Love to all, lunch for one before they are all back x

Rodeo · 21/02/2008 17:56

Argh, this is my 2nd attempt to post! Got to the end of big post but I didn't realise power cable had become 'dislodged' by a child!
We're on half term here, just about surviving have had a nice few days out and about but we've had a film, crisps and choc afternoon today.
Aww at all the singing toddlers, Jess loves singing too, she's pretty good at picking songs up off the radio so will burst onto a bit of Kate Nash/Hoosiers/Foo Fighters. And usually in public! Not a wallflower like the rest of us
Diege - Have images of a grumpy Gok Wan whenever you talk of your GOC! Any links to the new houses in contention? Would love a nosey! Maybe a link from Yahoo
GG Hope you are better, are you and the pub over now? Horrid when you don't get on with new management.
Twinkle good luck at your twins plus class Hope you meet lots of nice new friends! I didn't realise Nicole Kidman was having twins til I bought Now this morning! I'm so behind on my celeb news!
Nova, Jess got so cold on a walk the other day her trousers chafed her little legs All red and sore, poor thing, slathered her in vaseline so ok now. Must remember tights under trousers if it gets so cold again. Well done with the riding, best to master the basics now so you can enjoy leisurely evening hacks in the summer Congratulations to your friend, love the name!
Well done to BTKs Ben on a brilliant report!
Right off to placate warring siblings upstairs before the fur starts flying, speak later x

Hiya, well, have spoken to a solicitorand have a very good case for constructive dismissal. TBH, I could have seen us clashing over other things int he future anyway, e.g. some stupid idea she had that we would have to pay for runners. I'd have loved to have seen her try that with me.

I have really good news. Accepted (another) offer today. This one is quite low, but very exciting as he is buying to let & has agreed to rent it to me! How amazing is that!

lol Rodeo, I think of Gok Wan buying Dieges house too!

ds2's favourite nursery rhymes are twinkle twinkle, and he does all the actions, and row row, although I think just for the scraming bit!! His favourite songs to sing along to are Kylie & Girls Aloud. He'll be in the back of the car going 'wow wow wow', and on sexy..., he knows when the 'no no no' & 'hell yeah' bits are! He does cover his ears when foo fightwers are on, although thart may well be because I turn it up loud!!

Diege · 22/02/2008 08:04

Lol, GG and Rodeo at Gok Wan . I think he would be a wonderful buyer, and would sort my wardrobe out too!
Wonderful news GG about the house - how perfect would that be? Fingers crossed! .
Rodeo, need clarification on the Nicole Kidman business Rodeo . I thought it was Ange and J-Lo who were having twins?? Have I missed another twin announcement???
Right, off to brave playbarn land with dd3 as it's raining buckets. Will try and pick up High School Musical 2 for older dds this afternoon. Can't wait , though am hoping that rather nice Zac what's his name is in it

BTKsmum · 22/02/2008 13:23

Hi girls

GG fantastic news, that would be a really great solution for you regarding the house

Chacha I wasn't sulking last night honestly, I just couldn't get my conversation to go back to you once someone else challenged me. 314 what a white wash, obviously hiding those brains from us weren't you I'm up for another thrashing tonight if you are!!

Right got to go Ben's little friend has just arrived

Love to all Beks

twinkle1 · 22/02/2008 14:53

morning all,
Had a good night at the multiple birth evening at the hospital last night
Lots of really useful information. Also got my pram on ebay for less than half the price mothercare are selling it for!!!!!
twinkle

Rodeo · 22/02/2008 19:09

Evening
Last day of half term here! Can't believe you break up again in 3 weeks Diege! We have 4 weeks back, then the Easter Fri & Mon off, then back for 2 more weeks til the 'Easter' Hols! Re Nicole Kidman, I have word from this weeks Now magazine, and if you can't trust them, who can you trust?! I didn't know Ange was having twins! Where has this info come from? Think J-Lo had her boy/girl twins today, or so I read on a dodgy celeb website while trying unsuccessfully to find your confirmation on Nic! (not that I'm obsessive at all !) Did you watch HSM2?
Good news on your class Twinkle! And on your pram! What have you gone for? Are you going to let the twins sleep together or is that an unworkable idea? Are you learning this sort of thing at twins plus class?
Great news on the house GG And am being really thick but what are runners? And why would you pay for them?
We have had a nappy free afternoon here with 2 wees in the potty and one on kitchen floor, thinking of starting training next week when the children start back at school... Oh dear I've said it out loud now! If it goes horribly wrong I'll put off for few more weeks, but I want to catch her before the stubborn stage of 2 and a half that my other 2 children have suffered with! Right bedtime hour, speak later x

OP posts:
greedygecko · 22/02/2008 20:22

Oooh! Diege, you've got me singing HSM songs now. Must get the singstar game of it (I'm glad some of yuo have met me & know I'm not really 12! )

Rodeo, runners are people who leave without paying. Every other manager will put it down as theft, but she seems to have other ideas. lol @ your celeb baby obsession!

I've met a couple of people online that I've been chatting to (I've decided I don't care about what I posted on Yahoo!). One guy seems really nice, was emailing, then chattting on MSN, now we've exchanged mob numbers & the texts are coming thick & fast and freaking me out a little (not in a scary way, just in a back off a little bit way). There's another guy, very fit that I met on facebook. He's lovely, we get on brilliantly, talk a few times a week, send random emails to each other adn I really, really like him. Problem is he lives in Manchester! We were joking around the other night about the distance and time it would take, who has the better car to get there/here, but I'm scared to bring up the subject seriously. What do you all think?

Off to play some games...'There's not a star in heaven...'

Diege · 22/02/2008 21:25

Lol RODEO and your sources! I'd say Now magazine was as reliable as any other. I got my confirmation of Brangelina twins from Heat , though have also heard it rumoured in OK . Good luck on potty training! I feel anxious now wiating til summer, esp after I found L perched over baby anabel potty again, nappy round ankles, as she was getting ready for her bath . That's what I call baby-led toilet training .
GG, my advice would be BE CAREFUL. Seriously, I know if must be exciting and flattering and all the rest, but do you know any details about these men? Not wanting to be a spoilsport at all (hell you deserve a break after all you've been through!) but maybe just keepm things 'light' for now? . Oh and on a lighter note I've been a runner I must admit . Me and dh 'did one' after enduring a terrible meal, asking for bill three times, waiting 20 mins, then decided to take Michael Winner's advice and just walk out (well, I waddled at 35 weeks pregnant - they would easily have caught us). Felt really panicky for a few hours after, and 'laid low' for a few hours in pubs close by .
All I can say about High School Musical 2 is that it is very long, and seems to follow the usual formula of crazy euphoria, followed by misunderstanding, strop, and then make-up. dds loved it
Yes TWINKLE we need details of the pram! So what happened to the Phil and Teds? And how is twin school going? If must feel a bit like doing it for the first time wiht 2 on board!
Right, must try and keep up woth US Idol . Ooh Simon Cowell

twinkle1 · 23/02/2008 09:13

morning all,
I bought a WE2 its on the mothercare site if anyone wants a look.Real bargain at 56.00 omes with rain cover, cosy toes, drink pack etc
I also looked on the local twin site to see what was for sale as it was recommended the other night.Sure enough 2x hand made cots 2x high chairs from the same people and all they want is a donation to the local twin club!!!!!!!We are going to look today, they sound really nice have just emiggrated here from australia (quite posh as they live in wilmslow) Cant wait to see them. Its all getting very real.In some ways its like been pregnant for the first time, everything is so different. At the min i am the same size i was when i was 37 weeks last time.
Right i need to make dd1 breakfast
Twinkle

novadandypowder · 23/02/2008 09:38

How annoying is that First Choice nannies ad?? (nova points to the right -> )

Hmm toilet training, noo has had a few days of wanting to go to nursery in pants and she will use the potty there, but she will not use it at home. She quite often wanders around without a nappy on, she can hold on if she needs to go, she tells me when she needs to go, she'll even sit on the potty, but she just will not go in it . She'll ask for a nappy, and will get really distressed if we don't get one, so think I'll wait a little and just keep suggesting it. I'm not in a huge hurry, although I think the nursery are quite keen.

Diege · 23/02/2008 11:56

Ooh TWINKLE you are making me feel very broody with all this talk of baby shopping!!! I'll have a nosey at the Mothercare website in a mo', but sounds a good bargain! I'll def be getting a different pram this time (remember the faffing with my Jane!!?). The cot/highchair deal sounds excellent too! and yes, from Wilmslow = good too .
NOVA, ditto advert! Arghh!!! Same here with potty training - trying to eek it out til summer!
Last 2 houses to view today, then offer time! The sooner the better I say, as we're finding our present house getting increasingly small as dd3 gets bigger!

Diege · 23/02/2008 13:41

Very nice buggy TWINKLE, though the one I saw was £300 and something?? Looks v.simlilar to the one I had for dds 1&2, and was nice and easy to get around with .
Well, we have put an insultingly low offer in on the house we like, so will be negotiating up and hopefully reach a price we're both happy with by next week.

ChaCha · 24/02/2008 21:00

Beks - Good game!! I enjoyed it.

Rodeo - How is the toilet training going? Wish i could get it over with. DS takes his nappy off all the time now and throws it into the kitchen telling me 'pooh pooh in there/pee pee all gone' proceeded by running around shouting 'willy..willy' (much to DS2's amusement and clapping of hands). Yesterday I just left him to it and found that he'd peed behind the sofa fortunately just a dribble that he seemed proud of and a bit too close to my hidden laptop charger too! Must be more diligent. He does not like to use a potty and i can't keep going up the stairs as DS2 can't be left out of anything. Help! I will be looking out for all your tips.

Diege - Any news on house offer yet? Fingers crossed.

Nova - Are you all feeling better now and do you now have the house back to yourselves? Hope you are all ok.

GG - Same advice as Diege really but you really do deserve a break. Is your holiday far off now?

DH is back tomorrow, have missed him lots but have established a good routine in his absence - you just have to don't you? DS2 is biting lots, climbing on everything and making sure he has an audience when he does so, will climb on chair, clap hands and look round to see who is looking. DS1 does not stop talking, why was i ever worried about his speech!! He woke me up this morning and said 'Mummy downstairs see Rusty and Dukkin' and as we were going downstairs 'Percy there, Thomas there, choo choo' LOL - where have my babies gone!!!!! Cheeky 1 and 2 year old now.

Talk later x

Rodeo · 24/02/2008 21:06

Evening!
Ooh great to hear you've put an offer in on a house Diege! Is it the groovy 70's one?! Good luck
GG, I know 2 couples who have met over the internet (think our very own Beks and dh did) so it can work, but yes be careful like Diege says. But I know you will be
Missed the advert I think, was it one on MN? Bet they got both barrels from the MN stalwarts and took it off!
Twinkle, have you come back with the goods?! How kind of them
Well, a spanner has been thrown into the works regarding potty training - got a letter from pre-school yesterday morning asking if Jessie would like to start this Tuesday!! In 2 days! So after a panicky morning from me yesterday (potty training and first sessions of pre-school in one week?!) we have resolved to carry on with pants in the house and pull-ups while out and at playgroup. Went to a children's farm today and she went for a wee in the cafe toilet. Think we are doing what Dr Green calls toilet 'timing' at the moment, but am hoping it will turn into toilet training in a few days. Think I really have forgotten how to do it I'm sure B & J were quite easy....
Oh god, have I really banged on about toilet matters for that long?! I am sorry! Obv dp has no interest whatsoever in these matters
Not sure how I feel about J starting playgroup, was expecting her to get a place after Easter, so it's only half a term early, but she seems so young! I am excited but slightly worried at the same time. Really don't want her to scream the place down!
Just watching Larkrise, poor Dorcas I have an Aunt Dorcas, never heard of anyone else with the name, my aunt hates it! Hmm, is anyone watching The Last Enemy? Watched it last week but was quite bored by it, kept expexting something good to happen. Not sure wether to watch tonight or not..
Will go anyway, first day back at school tomorrow, need to sort uniforms out and find PE kits. Bye for now x x x

Rodeo · 24/02/2008 21:16

Hi Chacha
Gosh no tips! Have you any tips for me?! Have completely forgotten how to do it, though was impressed Jess used a strange toilet today. She uses both at home so maybe that's an advantage? Saw a dad at the farm today feeding animals with his toddler son carrying a potty in plastic bag (!) (the dad not the boy!) thought that was maybe a bit OTT and don't really want to resort to that! Or am I being mean?!
Oh look at me, babling on about toilet twaddle again!
Hope you have a nice reunion with DH tomorrow
Bye, again! x x x

OP posts:
Diege · 24/02/2008 21:39

Evening! Oh good going on the toilet training RODEO!! I remember putting a potty under the buggy with dd1, and stopping wherever we had to to use it! Seems another lifetime now! Libby is at the stage now where she'll ask for a wee, then sit on the toilet (on her own, I'm not allowed in) and then will come off it 5 mins later (no wee done yet). She is also obsessed by older dds pants, and is very keen to wear them. Even found her with a pair on over her cords last week . Glad it's not just me with The Last Enemy! Just couldn;t get in to it last week at all, and I really concentrated too! Gave up after 5 mins tonight, so that's it now!
CHACHA, your boys sound so sweet, and such good pals! Know what you mean about establishing a routine when dh is away. Things run so smoothly, and I do get a bit when it's disrupted when dh comes back! At least you can look forward to a bit of a break though!
Well, house news. They turned down our first offer, and we're awaiting news of our third and final one. We saw another one Sat (funky 70s!) we we love too, and it's way cheaper, so feel quite confident in walking away from first one if they don't accept our offer. All in all, pretty confident that we will get somewhere with it all, and fingers crossed will be in a bigger house come mid-summer (diege jinxes the whole thing!!).
Right, off to have my cream egg and cup of tea - a much looked forward to treat!

greedygecko · 24/02/2008 22:18

OOh, fingers crossed for you Diege, with house, sounds like it's all falling into place now. If only it was that easy!

lol ChaCha at your boys, sound like they're really close, must be lovely to watch them (when they're not tearing shreds out of each other I'm sure!).

No potty training tips here. I didn't bother with ds1, just took his pull ups off him a few days before he started nursery, and he was dry, and no nappies at night less than a week after that. He was 2yrs 11mths though. ds2 doesn't like wearing a nappy, well actually doesn't like wearing clothes full stop! He knows when he needs a wee, quite often will tell me, but won't let me do anything about it. Getting him to sit on a potty is totally random, most of the time he won't go near it, then he'll have a day where he uses it properly 3 or 4 times in the day. He also goes upstairs all the time to poo, unfortunately doesn't tell me first! He has to wear pants most days, even over his nappy when we're out. And loves putting his brothers pants on his head, there's a video on facebook for those of you on there (you have to go past all the TT ones forst though!) He is virtually dry at night though.

Looks like you're not the only oe waffling on about toilet training Rodeo!

Thanks for advice re internet dates/friends. Have been 'speaking' to 'C', the guy from Manchester tonight. I definately want to take it to the 'next level' with him, but maybe wait another month, see how things go?

Anyway, in hospital tomorrow, hoping they don't keep me in & can sort me out there & then.

MyNewName · 25/02/2008 09:59

Just got home from school, and the 'for sale' sign has been changed to a 'sold' sign. Wahoo! Fingers crossed this one goes through!

MyNewName · 25/02/2008 10:01

Doh!
