Here we go! (or should I say here wii go!?). I'll try doing a link too...

Incidentally, I had a dream last night that Cerys suddenly learnt how to blow proper raspberries! Don't know where it came from but it could be that she has been trying since she was about 4 weeks old and did it entirely by accident yesterday!

Morning kinki, sorry to hear that. Glad DH's heart is ok. I have to confess I too stopped taking my ADs about a month ago, although I was starting to take them every other day for a week or so prior, fortunately I seem to be totally fine, apart from PMS symptoms coming back and wanting to commit murder from time to time . I do hope you're able to come tomorrow, would be SO lovely to meet you. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. x x

Who else is definitely coming?

kinki · 06/03/2008 11:41

This wanting to commit murder thing, I get that regularly. Not sure its related to anything other than just being a bit of a mad woman, in my case.

It is soooooooooo lovely to hear that you're coming out the other side now. You have done so well. Now don't be going all shy and saying it's nothing, because you have done well, incredibly well. I'll do my best tomorrow, fingers crossed dses will be better. Did you get sorted with ds's new school? Did he get in where he wanted to go? Now you've got all the fun and expense of buying all the new kit! And how does it feel that one of your babies is going off to secondary school? Not sure how I'd cope with that!

kyala · 06/03/2008 12:13

Thanks Hopey, I have been aware of the unlawful bank charges for years now (every time I get charged £30 for going over by £! I phone and just tell them to check my account, they soon realise that I've been od by £500 for well over 2 years now and it's not likely that I'll be able to pay them the £30 not to mention the fact that it's not legal!) I mentioned it to DH and he just sort of shrugs off everything I say at the moment, it's very frustrating. I did have another whisper in his ear last night asking him to phone the bank today but he's got a very busy day ahead today and said he'll sort it this weekend if he gets a chance.

As for the crash problem ladies, I've got a solution, do what I do! I type my message in an Email that way I can be on MN scrolling and typing in reply to each member as I go (that way I don't miss anyone) and I've found that if it logs off/crashes it automatically saves your Email in your documents! Give it a try!

Mmoomar I agree! If it's not legal then they should be fined/penalised for it, there's just no justice in the world at the moment!
Well done Lukas though! Good lad!
Yuk! I hate Pampers, they smell of bleach, but am going to have to buy a pack to get my new changing bag from Boots parenting club I do wish they'd start some kind of collaboration with Nature babycare, it's just not right all these big corporate companies that litter our planet [ranty raspberry emoticon]
I can't believe Lukas is nearly out of size 4!! DD1 can still get into size 4 (if I'm desperate and only have Lolly's nappies left) and she's 2 1/2!!!!!!!!!

lol @ Kinki's DH's remark about the fishtank!! That's a good one!
I'm very lucky that, at the moment, I'm getting the last word in whether we're going to be getting any pets! I was considering getting a kitten (maybe for DH for Xmas this year) but with DD1's cough/cold lasting so long it just makes me realise that, no matter what, asthma will always be lurking in the background and I really don't want to aggravate a situation that I'm oh so familiar with!
I've been trying to get DH to come round to the idea of having a dog, when the girl's are a bit older if we've got enough time on our hands etc, but he's adamant that we're not having one (probably down to the fact that his parent's dog is SSSOOOOO badly behaved, which I can definitely say would not be the case as I'm not as affectionate towards dogs as cats so the discipline thing would not be a problem with me!)
I'm glad to hear that the heart problem isn't too serious, but bad bad Dh for not taking his ad's, my DH decided to stop his the week before our wedding, without telling me! It did not make for a very good week!!! (He's back on ad's now but I'm not convinced they're as good as the old one's, which apparently don't exist any more )

As for wanting to commit murder I have been thinking about throttling Dh lately, I just wish he'd blardy stick up for himself, his boss has only turned round, yesterday, and said that he's got to work sunday!! He worked an 8 day week last week after being signed off sick for 2 weeks, had Tuesday off was rota'd for having Friday off the he said that was an accident and it was meant for someone else (so DH is still owed a day for last week) and now he's only got one day off, Saturday. It makes me sooo I'm going to phone the guy and just say that I had something planned for this weekend, as we didn't get to do anything for Valentine's day, and that he's gone and mucked it up by not considering the fact that DH has got a family that would, at some point, like to spend time with him!!! GRRR!

Oh look another rant, you're all going to start blocking me aren't you, it must be v annoying to have to read this lot, I shall start warning you all when I'm on a rant from now on, so you can skim over me! Hope you're all having a good week x x x

MMooMar · 06/03/2008 14:38

Its picked up a bit on here from this morning....did you all have lie in`s?

Kinki glad your DH is ok,bad news all the kids are poorly though.
Cant try that line with our fish tank as DP brought it for me for some reasonages ago ,couldnt have brought one much bigger either ,could fit bloody shamu in it!

Kyala, know what you mean about smelly pampers (before wear too!) but Huggies just dont cut the mustard around the his puddin waist! Plus for DS1 they never seem to absorb so well.Would love to beable to afford eco nappies though.
Taking of nappies,DS1 is still in nappies at night and I have to put one on if he wants the toilet as he will only have a wee in the loo or potty and he is 3.5 anyone got any tips to get him to take the next plunge. He missed his start at nursery because of this so it has been deferred until this september.
Feels like he will still be in them though.

If I move Lukas up half a size for daytime too they will both be in the same size

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

kyala · 06/03/2008 15:04

Mmoomar We can't really afford them either, I'm just using them at night for Lolly (DD1 is in tesco nappies at night, as every time we buy a pack we promise it's the last one and we'll get her trained but she's having troubles, sometimes we have to get the really yucky Value one's if we're really strapped!) and I try me best at using cloth nappies for DD1 during the day but her bowel movements are very complcated.

Anyone else got an older on with strange poo's? She spends the day, for example, straining and doing little bits here and there (quite liquid, so annoying that it's staining the cloths quite badly) and then she'll do a big poo during the night (sometimes that day sometimes the next day, so she ends up straining for 2 days!!) It's all a bit irritating as it's delaying potty training (she'll hide in a corner for most of the day and refuses to use the potty if she's only straining )
I'm going to copy this to the PT thread and see if I get any luck there, althugh I'm thinking it could be dietary what with Lolly having her allergy to milk

When I visited the pre-school on Monday they said that they're quite used to having kids in nappies and helping with potty training etc so finger's crossed that'll help!

Arbensmum · 06/03/2008 15:29

Hi everyone!
Glad to see some people here!
I will still be going tomorrow, hopefuly. Arbens skin is still not right he has had one week of antibiotics but its still quite red. Its not weepy anymore but he now has a coupke of small patches on his cheek and the areas on his ear seem to be bigger. Plus he seems to be rubbing that ear alot more today. I was given cream but i am worried he will rub in it in eyes or rub his ear rhen chew on his hand...Oh i dont know what to do.
I also think that his second tooth is coming thru, he is back to 3hrly feeds all day and night.
Any ideas ye wise ones??

amyclaramum · 06/03/2008 16:29

Hello everyone !

Hope you all have a lovely meet up tomorrow - I am very but maybe will come next time ! Kinki - glad your DH was all clear on the heart issues but what a worry about the ad's causing those side effects ! Hope liam and DS get better for you soon !

Not much happening here - my Mum has been staying to look after us all as I'm not fully better (achey and tired and still yellow !). It was book day today at the DD'S school and they were very excited about dressing up as their favourite book characters.

Hopey - what happened about your DS school?
We will have to start looking for DD1 next year - such a nightmare !

Happy birthday Chatty - hope you are all better for it !

PurpleLostPrincess · 06/03/2008 21:51

Hello ladies, just a quickie for now as i'm up in bed using dh's co,puter and the keyboard is a stupid gameing one that is awful to type on grrrrrrr!!! (angry)

So sorry but I can't make it tomorrow = I' ve had really bad back ache all week and its vetting to the point where i'm going to have to go back tothe doctors (sad) so I really don't think i can handle the drive. Also our fridge is playing up and we're skint so we need to keep as much momey back as possible in case we need to buy a new one. I know it wouldn't break the bank to come but our car really buzzles the petrol... I have been looking forwards to it all week and I'm really gutted as I was all excited about it... Hope you all have a really nice time and hope the next one is soon so I can meet you lovely ladies!! (smile)(grin)I havent got any credit so i can't text but i've sent a message to hopey on facebook, hope it somehow gets to you before one of you sets off...

Have just read this back and my typing is awwwwwful, sorry!

Will pop on in the morning for a proper catch up on my proper purple keybord!!

Hugs xxxxxxxxx (wink)

Just a quickie from me before I leave. It's all systems go for me and the little dses. I'll be heading off soon. So I'm going to Brent Cross right? Better check out where exactly that is. And when I'm there I'll be heading for John Lewis's, yes? And trying to get there for 12/12.30. Right better get my arse in gear then. Still to get a shower, then chuck kids in car, check brake fluid (mustn't forget that bit!) then off we go. I'm so excited. See yers there.

kinki · 07/03/2008 09:30

sorry to hear about your back plp. hope you its better soon. Shame you can't make it this time. I'm sure we'll be doing it again soon.

kyala · 07/03/2008 15:36

Sorry Arbensmum no useful info from me today, just hopes and hugs for Arben, maybe get those scratch mits back on him (or one of those lampshade god collars? ) that might keep his hands off his ear.

Hope you're all having a good day today.
I'm feeling a lot better about things, DH isn't planning on going back in on Monday, he's gone in today saying that I've kicked him out (pulling on the sympathy chords!!) and that'll be his reason if the boss ever does catch up with him.
Also, he's been going through his past bank statements and, just for last year, they owe hime £200 in bank charges!! That should come in handy if he get's that back, not to mention the years before then, but he's got to do a little more digging to see if he's entitled to it back (which I'm pretty sure he is as it's just coming up that it's illegal for them to be charging at all (let alone the amount that they do charge).

I always get my money back from the bank (mainly cos I've been at my OD limit for 2 1/2 yrs and they just know I'm not going to be able to afford it anyway) so I know somewhere along the line he's entitled to his money back but it's knowing the right way to go about getting it!
Any hints?
xxx

dal21 · 08/03/2008 06:57

PLP - sorry you couldnt make yesterday, you were missed as were the others. How are you feeling?

Well, I had a fab time, 5 hours of gossiping and even then I had to wrench myself away. It also has to be said that us Sept mummmies have cooked an exceptionally cute bunch of babies...they are all GORGEOUS and very very very well behaved.

and we are all really nice in RL too!

I think we would defo do it again!

Hope everyone got back ok. Hopey has photos and am sure she will post them. In the end it was Hopey, myself, arbensmum and Kink - whose older DS, Ryan is absolutely wonderful - Kink you must be very proud of him.

Hsve great weekends all. Chatty, hope you had a good birthday. Kyala - hope all well with you.

kinki · 08/03/2008 07:27

Morning dal. I had a great time yesterday too. You're right, we have all got gorgeous babies haven't we? I must apologise for our disgusting germs again though. I hope we haven't spread our lurgies . I was tucking Ryan into bed last night telling him just how proud I was of him for being such a good little boy and he looked up at me with those big eyes and said, mummy, you're my girlfriend . It took us 2.5 hrs to get home again, but both were very good and settled in the car. In my wisdom I let Ryan have a yoghurt with his picnic tea. I knew it was a bad idea when I gave it to him but he asked so nicely for it. So in a minute I have to go clean his car seat, and all the other places he splattered it to .

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend. We might go watch some horseracing with my dad today. I'll just check out the weather first.

Hopeysgirlwasntbig · 08/03/2008 11:05

Morning lovelies, just back from Niamh's swimming lesson.

Had a FAB FAB time yesterday, those 5 hours FLEW by! Will definitely arrange again soon. Sorry for those that couldn't make it this time, PLP, hope your back is better and Chatty hope you had a good birthday.

Kinki, sorry to hear you had another crappy journey home , your DS2 is GOOOOOOOOOOORGEOUS (and DS3 of course), but wasn't he well behaved! I was smitten. I wished I'd taken more photos, but the ones I did take are on my profile. Will organise a passer by next time to take a group pic.

kyala · 08/03/2008 19:55

Hello my lovelies, glad you all had a lovely time y'day, am V of you all.
So give us all the details, where did you go? What did you chat about? How much did you all spend on tea and cakes?!

Today was quite nice and relaxed for me, went to DH's parent's and chilled (it's the first time they've seen Lolly in a few weeks) and DD1's staying there tonight so I've got all of tomorrow to myself to clean up and get sewing again, should be nice, I might just get up a bit earlier to make the most of it.

DH is working tomorrow and not going in from Monday, so he's making sure that his ends are tied up and then screwing the manager over something chronic (aparently he's due to be going to America for the week, business related but still) so it wont affect anyone but the manager
I've said he could do better by not going in tomorrow at all and that'll totally screw him over as they've got an audit on monday but he says it's for his own peace of mind and all that

He's going to take all his bits and pieces in with him and just leave it all on the desk for the guy to discover on Monday morning!! That'll be nice for him, just before the bosses walk in and start looking the place over!!

Anywho, have a good night x

Hopeysgirlwasntbig · 08/03/2008 20:33

Hi Kyala,

it sounds like your DH is a decent person. It's a shame you couldn't have made it yesterday. Hmmm, one of the subjects (of course) was your name! Have we both got good taste??? It really was quite amazing/surreal meeting in rl. I WASN'T disappointed AT ALL, us girlies really are fab. What would I have done without you this past yr/?

kyala · 09/03/2008 00:05

Aw I'm even more now, I really want to meet up with you guys, it's be so nice to be able to get out of smallsbury and do something fun!

Will definately see for next time!

MrsFish · 09/03/2008 08:14

Sounds like you had fun, wish I didn't live so far away

LollypopzMummy · 09/03/2008 13:15

Got inspired and changed my name guy's, just so you know
Kyala x

MrsFish · 09/03/2008 15:49

I was thinking of changing mine as I have it on another couple of forums and don't want to be particularly known if you see what I mean. Have no idea what to change it to though... anyone have any ideas?

sophus · 09/03/2008 20:41

hi all, sorry i didn't make it on Friday, just been so busy of late and lots to do selling mum's house so got to the end of the week and just needed a day with my boy hanging out. DP's birthday today so went out for our first meal out together since Linus was born. Childminder babysat for us, gave him EBM and put him to bed and he didn't mind at all (I was a bit worried that he wouldn't understand going to bed without breast IYSWIM). So we had a lovely meal and it was great to be a grown up for once. Took Linus to Cambridge today and we all had sushi for lunch (well Linus had parnip, beans and squash actually).
But i'll definitely be up for next time

LollypopzMummy · 09/03/2008 20:53

Sophus Glad you managed to get a night out

MrsFish How about 2boysandabrunett? Can't think of anything else relating (will look-y at your FB in a bit and see what else pops into my crazy head! )

Chattyhan · 10/03/2008 08:57

glad you all had a lovely time on friday! I had a great birthday and thanks to all those who sent their wishes! I still wasn't feeling 100% but didn't let it spoil my plans and a few drinks out seemes to have sent the bugs packing - also didn't have a hangover!

The kids were good for my sister in the evening and grandma in the afternoon while i got my hair done which was very overdue after 7 months! I decided to make it worthwhile and had 6 inches off! So still getting used to my short hair.

Hope everyone is well xx

dal21 · 10/03/2008 09:37

Hi everyone

what a miserable, miserable day.

Had a fab weekend - saw the vanity fair exhibition yesterday and had a meander round the shops after (feel very old - topshop, which i used to love, was full of youngsters and horrible horrible clothes). My only saving grace is that my 18 year old cousin reassured me that she thought that it was full of rubbish too and was a sign of good taste, not old age.

Am currently busy looking for a last minute easter weekend break somewhere - so better go back to my calls whilst ryan is napping.

Hope everyone ok.

Hugs

Hopeysgirlwasntbig · 10/03/2008 10:47

Morning!

Wow dal, vanity fair exhibition, sounds a bit posh! Was it? I know what you mean about Top Shop. Hope you have some joy booking your Easter break. Hey, that's given me an idea... do you think it would be too incredibly unsociable to escape go away during that easter weekend, this is the weekend my FIL is due to visit.

Sophus, sorry you couldn't make our meetup. Glad you had a lovely meal.

Chatty, glad you had a lovely birthday. Post a piccy of your new hair do. I'm a bit torn. My hair is WELL overdue for a cut. Am torn between going for an untidy layered bob, or leaving it to grow a bit. Dal, Amum and kinki, you saw my hair on Friday, what do you think?

My DH completed the Silverstone half marathon yesterday in under 2 hours. Then went for a 1 hour run afterwards!. He is training for the London marathon in April, so is not completely bonkers. I was slightly taken aback by feeling awash with emotion when I saw him running. His arm all strapped. I've just come off the phone to our local paper and asked them if they want to do a follow up story on him. He was front cover news when he had his accident. They're sending a photographer on Saturday morning.

Need an opinion- do you think it's worth trying to raise some money on Mumsnet for DH? He's running in aid of the Samaritans. Not sure of the policy on this one. Also, am thinking maybe there are far more worthy charities, having read what some people have gone/are going through on Mumsnet. NOT that I'm belittling the Samaritans or anything

Oh bugger am waffling, will shut up now and have breakfast, then brain might start working!!
