Here we go! (or should I say here wii go!?). I'll try doing a link too...

Incidentally, I had a dream last night that Cerys suddenly learnt how to blow proper raspberries! Don't know where it came from but it could be that she has been trying since she was about 4 weeks old and did it entirely by accident yesterday!

Have you joined the mumsnet group mrsfish?

MrsFish · 26/02/2008 18:13

I haven't no, I'll go check it out.

canadianmum · 26/02/2008 19:50

Hello everyone, am so about you all meeting up but I really don't think I will be able to make it. I am going to try but with school runs and living on the other side of London it could be nigh on impossible. Also DH is using our one car at the moment due to his motorcycle being written off .

Life has been a bit knackering here, Anna has had a very bad cold. It is her very first illness so I guess I shouldn't complain but her eyes and nose have been streaming and she now has a yucky cough that made her throw up last night. She seems much brighter and happier today so hopefully the worst is over.

Good news is that DH gets the awful steel frame off his leg on Thursday, hurrah!!

re: classes - I am signing Anna up for baby music after Easter holidays. it is the same class that i did with my boys and I can't wait. It is just a lady with a guitar but it is really fun and good for mums like me who can never remember the words to all those children's songs. I put her name down for a playgroup as well, they have a 1 year waiting list but the organiser thinks we can be in by September.

Anyone else starting to get a bit bored??? Today I didn't have any plans apart from the usual school runs and Anna was awake for quite a long time and it was like "ho hum, what shall we do now...la la la". Oh dear!

sophus · 26/02/2008 22:04

canadianmum - I did wonder the other day about the wisdom of another six months of this, now that I only exist as a personal climbing frame for linus or sometimes I get to be a trampoline as well...

kyala · 26/02/2008 22:54

Hi there, it's been a quiet day on here hasn't it?!

I've looked up all the activities in my local city and there's not a singal signing class anywhere near here so I'm going to ask the woman who runs our tot's group (she works in a nursery) she might know of somewhere that do that sort of thing, finger's crossed.

I'm getting a bit bored of not being able to spend time with Lolly, I hate to say it but, DD1 is just getting in the way of our bonding time and there's nothing I can do about it as we're not entitled to any help with nursery fees so we just can't afford for her to go anywhere.

And to top it all off DH is working this weekend so I've got to try and find something to do to get us out of the house (if I'm stuck in all blardy weekend with them both on my own as well I'm going to end up commiting murder I swear!)

kyala · 26/02/2008 23:05

Heehee found you PLP on FB, now I'm gonna stalk ya! (I am of course joking!)

PurpleLostPrincess · 27/02/2008 00:13

Yay! I just replied to your message, isn't it cool! Arbensmum and I have been messaging on there too for a while. Its really strange getting to know people by their real names lol! Shame there aren't any baby signing classes listed near you, maybe you could try some of the products and do it at home on your own? Sounds like DH has done the right thing by handing in his notice

Oooooh, I wish everybody could make it next week, I really want to meet you all! We'll have to reintroduce ourselves by our real names pmsl!

Hope everybodies doing OK?

canadianmum - so pleased to hear about DH's frame coming off, it must be a milestone after all you've been through as a family xx

dal - I can't wait to take Cerys swimming! We're planning on just going ourselves rather than a class just yet, I reckon she'll be knackered within about 15 minutes. We can't wait to see how she'll react as she absolutely loves her bath-times but a swimming pool might be a bit overwhelming. I guess we won't know till we take her!

acmum - so glad the wedding went well

sophus - glad you're over your colds now. You poor thing spilling the water everywhere, I don't know what I would have done!

kinki - hope you enjoyed your wine? I'm afraid I rarely drink and when I do I go for either Cinzano or Tequila and go the whole hog lol!

hopey - love the organisational skills! Hows things with DH?

MrsFish - I'll look out for you on FB

Cerys is doing really well still and her bottom is holding up well. We've started taking her out for walks in the buggy and she just loves watching the world go by. I don't know why but I hated going out before but now I feel much more free; I think it'll be good for her and me to get out more now. The next thing is getting her injections DH has started a healthy living regime so we're eating much more healthily (is that a word?!). DS gives him 2 weeks, I give him 3 if we encourage him and tow the line - afterall, its good for us too!!

Best get to bed now, take care all xx

Awwww Fio, that must have been really scary, glad to hear things are calming down now. Do they know why it happened and are they able to treat it? ((hugs))

I'm so proud of Cerys - she is now saying MAMAMAMA!!!!!!! She doesn't know what she's saying, its just a mouth formation and a new noise to her but I'm well chuffed!

FioFio, I'm so sorry to hear you had that scary experience with your DD. I do remember you telling me about her. I'm sure my brother won't mind me posting about this, but their DS2 (now 13) has severe learning difficulties and has suffered from epileptic episodes since he was 6 months old. Like your DD there are no genetic markers of any syndrome at all, all tests have come back normal. Great Ormand St even liased with experts in America but no body seems to be able to get to the bottom of it. Poor mite is unable to communicate, rarely gives any eye contact and is still in nappies. They may have to name his condition after him! It really is awful what they (and you) go through. You have it tough and have my sympathies. I really do hope that she doesn't have any more fits. It must have been terrifying being rushed to hospital like that.

amyclaramum · 27/02/2008 13:23

FioFio - you poor love ! So sorry for you and DD - how scary.

Kinki - thanks for sharing your yellow-ness experience ! My Doc now thinks I might have Hepatitis A as the scan yesterday showed no gall stones !! Aparently I could have picked it up from dodgy food in a restaurant any time since Christmas !! Still very scarily yellow and feeling exhausted but luckily my DH has taken day off to look after me and the DD's. I have posted on BF and Tiktok has advised that I should be fine to continue BF !

love to everyone else and hope you are having good weeks !

Kyala - sorry about your DH - hope he gets some good luck with new job soon xx

Hopeysgirlwasntbig · 27/02/2008 13:23

DH was hilarious this morning when the earthquake 'hit'. I heard our bedroom door rattle and thought it was one of the boys coming in because they'd had a nightmare. But the door kept on and on rattling! I was lying there thinking, for goodness sake TURN THE HANDLE! But I realised the whole room was shaking. I jumped out of bed and said to DH this is an earthquake, half asleep he said, no it's not, it's that simple simon game, you know, the one downstairs!!!!!

canadianmum · 27/02/2008 14:12

fio - oh poor you and dd!! what a worry - i hope you get some answers soon. let us know how you get on with the tests....
