no eight month check here but if you take them to the drop in clinic then they will talk through whatever you want really - so got B weighed and measured 17lb 6 and 70cm respectively and just talked through all the developmental stuff she can do now and got that noted as well. When I got home I had a look in dd1's red book - her birthday is just two days away from B's - I had her weighed at 40 weeks - just a couple more than B is now - she weighed 17lb 9oz and measured 70.5cm!

I am in love with my new bag by the way - it comes with a spotty changing mat and has many pockets - who thinks I really, really need to get a grip

Octo · 03/01/2008 21:58

Eddas - your dd and wcl's dd look like they would get on just great My boys wanted to buy me a pink power ranger for christmas!!

StealthPolarBear · 03/01/2008 21:58

Ahh they're lovely, all smiles, and I've just noticed you describe yourself as a "child herder"

Octo · 03/01/2008 22:00

NL - which one did you buy?

I have a SkipHop but as it doesn't do up at the top everything either gets wet or falls out

PillockOfTheCommunity · 03/01/2008 22:07

I pmsl every time I see your profile SPB, reminds me of when you first joined and the 'grapes in the supermarket' was a mystery to you, bet it all makes more sense now

It's from accesorize - they do baby stuff it seems - it's sort of sage green with a flap over the top and silver edging! I can't help myself I'm just so excited - I wanted to get a bag I really liked before B was born but could never settle on one then a friend very kindly lent me a huge mamas and papas one - which was ok but rather mumsy. So I used that for a bit then got the free one from Boots - and now I have a bag I really like - and it was in the sale £35 reduced to £10.50

NorthernLurker · 03/01/2008 22:23

Look - I know I'm excited about the bag but that's no reason for you to all go and hide!
Come out from behind that chaise longue and stop lurking behind the curtains!

fpesha · 03/01/2008 22:25

I'm here, bit braindead though - think i'm getting ill, feel crap. Haven't got time to be ill!

Octo · 03/01/2008 22:25

Still here!!

I have just managed to give Ernie water instead of milk .... oh no - take that back - he is awake again - fuck fuckity fuck. Will go try again!

NorthernLurker · 03/01/2008 22:27

Good luck Octo

Poor pesha - what sort of ill?

Octo · 03/01/2008 22:35

More water and back to sleep .... fingers crossed!!!!! xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Pesha - oh no - hope you manage to sleep it off.

NorthernLurker · 03/01/2008 22:38

good work Octo - saw your 'period' news by the way - glad this has made you less stressed

How do you get Ernie to drink water - B won't have a bottle and isn't very keen on the cup - chews it and gets drips all over her. I suspect I need to buy more cups - but that seems rather an expensive way to do things

Dh needs pc now so will log off briefly

leakythesnowman · 03/01/2008 22:43

Evening

Back in Yorkshire and bloody glad to be away from parents(mental), ILs (insensitive buggers) and general family stress. After 10 days and all that's happened I'm just glad to be back in my little flat with dh and George.

Ooogs think you should still go to EPU to set your mind at rest.

Snowed all the way down from Northumberland this morning. Very pretty but not nice driving.

Right off in bath now. Hopefully back on tomorrow.

Goodnight x.

elkiedee · 03/01/2008 22:45

Hi to everyone still up and about.

NL, you've me start planning a trip to Monsoon/Accessorise in Islington next week. I have a huge black Mamas & Papas change bag which I like for its practicality but I lost the changing mat and the fastenings are broken. I don't suppose they'll have much left in the sale in my size - sales tend to have smaller and larger sizes - but I'm realising I probably have to think about getting some new clothes for me (Danny has lots).

elkiedee · 03/01/2008 22:47

WB Leaky, hope the bath was lovely and relaxing.

Octo · 03/01/2008 22:48

Thanks NL

I have various cups for water - the avent ones are a bugger as they need to suck for england to get anything out - the tommee tippee ones are good though but are free flow esp when on the floor! I just gave him water in a bottle in his room and he was fine with it. I do use that red cup dippy sent alot. I think ernie should be drinking more tbh but keep forgetting

PillockOfTheCommunity · 03/01/2008 22:49

I'm looking at pictures of men

NorthernLurker · 03/01/2008 22:50

Hi Elkie - what are these new clothes of which you speak? I am not familiar with that concept?

(Sigh) - will have to go shopping before I go back to work - have been living in M&S £9.50 tracksuit trousers since I was about 5 months pregnant - they are so comfy - but can't go to work in them!

NorthernLurker · 03/01/2008 22:52

Hmmmm POTC - do you need us to give a view - I'm feeling very judgemental wise tonight!

Oh and Octo - I'm sure B should drink more but it's getting it in her that's the issue - for the life of me can't remember how I sorted this with the other two! The cups with valves are great aren't they - but not for learning with - so damp carpets it is I think!
