tcmummy, sorry about your bad night

Afternoon all

Lovely to "see" some old faces

Oooggs - thinking of you x

As for meal planning - yes, I do it! Bought one of these And they are fab for mincing up meat, and anything thats difficult to chop up. In our freezer we currently have an assortment of pasta, chicken, mincemeat and vegatable dishes. Must say a HUGE thank you to whoever said to reuse glass jars. I've got an Annabel Karmel cookbook, and just use it as inspiration more than anything.
But must be more organised when it come to the rest of us. Have loads of food in freezer...just forget to defrost it

Anyway, I'm currently working on a work/mil/childcare action plan, that ultimatley means that we won't be relying on mil for regular childcare. So far me and dh have come up with -

  1. Reduce/change hours so don't need mil to look after boys.
  2. Will try and speak to someone at local college about possible courses available, funding etc and hopefully some career advice. College isn't open til next week though.
  3. In the meantime, I'm going to apply for jobs which are a lot closer to home.

I've worked out how much money I'd need if the boys had to have extra sessions in nursery, so feel quite prepared in that sense.

In a bizarre way, I think that mil might have done me a favour by being a pita.
2008 could be the year of some fabulous life changes

Maveta · 03/01/2008 15:04

I like some of those links.. yeah that trike I linked to says from 10months but I can´t see how, his little legs would just be dangling in mid air I like the one you linked to GMM and tbh it seems quite reasonably priced, the only comparable thing I can find here costs at least double that!

Also realised I need to start looking at nurseries. Mum will look after N til I start work full time in April but I think after that she wants to be a bit more free to do her own thing which is totally understandable. Also my sister is due her first in June and I know she will want to go spend some time with her. So if he needs to go in April I need to think about where to send him and maybe start sending him in March for a couple of days. My baby! How long do they recommend you take to get them used to it? i.e. if I start sending him for 1 morning, then 2, then 3 etc. over what kind of time frame should we space it?

StealthPolarBear · 03/01/2008 15:37

Maveta, the nursery t is going to ask you to leave hi9m for an hour to begin with then 2 then they discuss with you if he needs more settling in time. You don't pay for those.
Does anyone else's lo regularly squeal like a stuck pig? He's not upset, just like shouting "wow!"

Maveta · 03/01/2008 16:18

thanks spb. yes N does that squealing! Runny I meant to say I´m really glad you are looking at the positives that could come from this. It´s not possible in every situation, I know, but looks like you have a good few alternative plans which is fab!

dh volunteered to stew some fruit (which he´s never done before). Why is it annoying me that 30mins later he´s still chopping chopping chopping about 4 apples and 4 pears into the smallest bits imaginable? I have told him that it will all squelch down anyway but he´s not paying me the slightest bit of attention [humpf]

StealthPolarBear · 03/01/2008 16:41

good, was beginning to think he was part boy part piglet

Kneehighinnappies · 03/01/2008 16:51

HELLO HELLO HELLO!!!!

I hope you all had a wonderful xmas and new year.

I have beeen run off my feet with sick dc's, it started with dd1 and the flu and then of course ALL of them decided to join in, so we had a very snotty and miserable xmas here, and pretty much the same for new years, I struggled to stay up till 12 and as soon as we had watched the fireworks on telly I went to bed (ooooooh you wild one)

At least the dcs seem to be getting better the chest coughs have eased up a bit and for the first time in weeks they all slept through the night again last night

Hope everyone had a better time of it than me.

weeonion · 03/01/2008 16:54

C sometimes lets single yelps out of her for no apparent reason. scares the crap out of me at times. she also seems to build all this energy up inside her that has to get out. heavens help any soft toy that is close at hand at those times... not pretty!

i have been given soem baby free time to go through the whole of our spare room that i can no longer get into to chuck out old clothes. i am therefore sitting her with coffee and sweets

StealthPolarBear · 03/01/2008 17:20

hi khin, glad you're back.
Sorry you have had an ill Christmas household but glad you're all getting better and SLEEPING!!
hi wo, sounds like a very productive use of your time

StealthPolarBear · 03/01/2008 17:22

As for C yelping on and off, that sounds scarier than ongoing squealing! T will go "aaaaahhhhhhhhhhhrrrrrghhhhh" and I'll look over and he'll be playing happily, smile at me, he then continues for 10 minutes! It is normally when he's trying to do something challenging though, so I suppose it's like he's watching a football match and shouting "Come OOOOOOOOONNNNNNN!"

Eddas · 03/01/2008 17:32

Evening!

Can I just let it be said that dd has been lovely most of today what a difference a good sleep makes

Lets all keep our fingers crossed that she's good tomorrow as the last day just me and her(and ds of course!) before the weekend and then preschool begins, hurrah!

Sexonlegs · 03/01/2008 17:58

Hi loves

Hope you are all well.

KHIN, good to see you, and glad the household is recovering and sleep is being restored!

Oooggs, what a nightmare you are going through. Have you been able to see anyone today? Thinking of you xx

Runny, sounds like you are on a roll with your planning for the future. Good on ya!

Eddas, so glad you had a better day with dd.

Luce, what a pita re the appointment. I hate it when that happens.

tcmummy, hope you get a better night tonight.

Ange, hope you got your windscreen sorted. Nothing worse than waiting in for something like that.

Big wave to everyone else who I haven't mentioned.

All ok here. B back at school with no problems at all. K cried as soon as I handed her over to her key worker Apparently she was fine minutes later tho

oooggs · 03/01/2008 18:55

haven't seen or spoken to anyone - I really don't need it confirming it has gone.

Had a Rainbow planning meeting a my house today - sat on floor and felt a bit funny so got up to go to the loo, well I had leaked blood through pad, pants, jeans and onto the cream carpet, I was flooded. Sorry if too much, I was devestated. Made nothing of it, left room, hope no one saw my jeans, and when I returned I put my bag over the mess on the carpet and carried on the meeting (after cleaning myself up and changing jeans).

Horrified and now struggling to get bllod out of carpet. This is hell.

oooggs · 03/01/2008 18:56

I am also really sorry that all my posts are self asorbed at the moment

weeonion · 03/01/2008 19:13

CaptainDyson · 03/01/2008 19:27

Hi Ange! How's you today? I am completely shattered, goingo ut to cinema with a friend to watch I am Legend, looking forward to it, but sooooo tired ....

Sexonlegs · 03/01/2008 20:11

Oooggs, I am so so sorry you are going through this. I wish I could come down and give you a massive hug.

PillockOfTheCommunity · 03/01/2008 20:15

oh oooggs, really wish there was something I could do

OP posts:
oooggs · 03/01/2008 20:24

I would rather you came down and got the blood out of the carpet

oooggs · 03/01/2008 20:25

sorry had to joke if not I'll scream

Sexonlegs · 03/01/2008 20:28

What about some good old Vanish on the carpet? Or a strategically placed rug if all else fails?

Idreamofchocolate · 03/01/2008 20:30

Oooggs - sorry to hear you're still having such a rough time. The bleeding sounds horrendous and, like you say, there doesn't seem any chance that the pregnancy is still on-going. Have you still got some of the cheapy preg tests so you can test again in a couple of days? In terms of the carpet, do not use anything hot to remove the stain as that will set the blood. Apparently hydrogen peroxide is good for getting blood out. HTH .

Well tomorrow is my last day of maternity leave, back to work on Monday. Feeling very and and about the prospect - mostly as I worry about how my little girl will get on without me.

Eddas · 03/01/2008 20:38

oooggs, please don't apologise for self absorbed posts. Just let us help by listening to you. My friend said that you may still get a positive result for a couple of weeks after a miscarriage so I wouldn't test again if i were you.

Can we help take your mind off of it all for a little while? what would you like to talk about?
