foxy sorry to see about your grandma

quick visit from me as have the dreaded tummy bug no vomiting just the other dh is off work to help me with dcs

HellHathNoFury · 04/01/2008 12:18

Apparently you can get parvovirus in humans too! I was surprised (confused) as well.

Foxy - his rash was on his forehead and back mainly. It's gone now, he's as fit as a fiddle now. It wasn't bad, just a little bit red and spotty but most definately a rash.

FairyFay · 04/01/2008 12:20

Oh no, so many ill little ones, and big ones. I hate winter .

Foxy, sorry but I couldn't do next weds as it's the first playgroup session and I don't want to risk losing our place for the term by not being there - how about the week after?

foxythesnowman · 04/01/2008 12:23

Ah, the week after is our first day at playgroup, so same for me!

FairyFay · 04/01/2008 12:25

maybe the one after that then....

sputnik · 04/01/2008 12:43

Jammy if you've had a cold for 6 weeks you might have a sinus infection or something, that happened to me last year when I was pg and I just assumed it was the cold dragging on. If you're still snotty or have sinus pain at all I would get it checked at the docs if I were you.

LittleMissNorty · 04/01/2008 13:05

Hello everyone

sorry for all of you suffering with colds and/or norovirus....we are just coming out the other side of it all here.....

Have to say DD gets quite a lot of little rashes which I put down to viral rashes and don't worry about (unless she shows other signs of illness)....is that OK or should I be more vigilant? Just don't want her pumped full of antibiotics when all she has is a virus...

foxy...sorry to hear about your grandma....

Natty, sorry to hear of all your troubles but glad things are improving for you...

HellHathNoFury · 04/01/2008 13:10

LMN I am the same as you, I tend not to worry.
The nursery just called and said DS has a temperature. I think he's probably fine.

I figure if they are happy, eating, drinking, then there probably isn't too much cause for concern.

The food here is dire. I think I am going to be making my own and bringing it in.

LittleMissNorty · 04/01/2008 13:14

I bring in my own lunch ....just eaten a chocolate from my Xmas tree

HellHathNoFury · 04/01/2008 13:17

mmmmmm

chocolate

I can't, am on a very strict diet - which includes lots of water and nothing fun.

Doesn't stop me eating pizza though and as such the weight is being very stubborn

HellHathNoFury · 04/01/2008 13:37

I am bored. I am going to get a cup of tea and see if I can make that process last a very long time.

milkyJammy · 04/01/2008 13:40

Just been to get DD weighed. 8.12kg = 17lb 14oz. Following same growth curve, somewhere between 75th and 91st so all's well

HellHathNoFury · 04/01/2008 13:43

That's good Jammy. DS is 9kg but I weighed him myself at home as I can never seem to get to a clinic, so could be under/over.

I wonder how Holly's DS is? He was a big boy and crawling...he is probably riding a bike now!

sputnik · 04/01/2008 13:56

And where is Holly?

Elsbells · 04/01/2008 14:04

Just a quick Happy New Yr to you all.
Haven't read any of your posts but hope you are all ok.

We've all had a bug and DS was in great form by puking most days after Boxing Day. Thankfully DD has only had a cold.

Can't believe she is 7 months on Monday. Where is the time flying???

Hope everyone had a good break - wait, that's right, we don't have breaks anymore, we are parents.

HellHathNoFury · 04/01/2008 14:25

Hi Elsbells nice to see you again

Hasn't everyone been ill? good grief.

DaisyBoo · 04/01/2008 14:47

I'm bloody confused (doesn't take much admittedly).....posted on another thread and was put out that no-one was around!

Is this the current one then?

Happy New Year to everyone. I've just been catching up and there's too much to remeber.

Quick resume from me. Mum is still the same; has good days and bad days, is v forgetful and getting her mucking words fuddled a lot which gives a bit of light relief to a dire situation. she's taken to calling my BIL Wooly instead of Willie for example. It's been a bloody rollercoaster for us all, with no sign of it stopping just yet.

I've not seen her for a couple of days as DD has the dreaded lurgy now and has been v poorly since New Year and has been at the doctor's twice (as well as A&E on New Years Eve after finding some shards of glass in the calpol bottle but it doesn't look like she swallowed any thankfully. she is a little better today, but it is so sore that she howls for 10 mins every time she coughs or sneezes

MRR on the mend as well, and have finally found out a way to control; his unruly behaviour.....the threat of PS2 confiscation is a fantastic cosh with which to beat him .

I'll e back home tomorrow so will catch up properly then. Babyboo howling again so gotta go!

HellHathNoFury · 04/01/2008 14:50

Hi Daisy!
Good to see you again. We have all been thinking of you here.

foxythesnowman · 04/01/2008 14:55

Hi Daisy! Good to see you back.
How are you doing? How are DCs?

New thread was down to me getting over-sensitive. Sorry, feel a bit silly now.

deckthehallswithboughsofholly · 04/01/2008 15:05

Good god, I'm confused! Which thread do I post on? There is about a million!

Happy new year everyone!

foxythesnowman · 04/01/2008 15:06

Where have you been Holly?

deckthehallswithboughsofholly · 04/01/2008 15:09

NY resolution= Less time on MN and more time cleaning and general motherly/wifely duties!

It's going well so far, let's see if I can stick to it!

How are you foxy?

DaisyBoo · 04/01/2008 15:11

hey foxy, hey fury.

Sounds like everyone ad their DCs have been poorly over Christas, but that a good Christmas was had by all.

DS had a great time, opening not only his presents, but DDs as well. She was over the moon with excitement at her babywalker, and sits in it squealing with glee. She can't move it yet...legs too short....but it's a big hit.

she started commando crawling on Christmas eve, so I have to watch her like a hawk now; she can get into the tiniest of spaces. We got some lovely photos over the hols, I'll get some uploaded when I have a chance.

DS loves his PS2, and I've been playing on it when he's been in bed at night....I'm now a Lego Jedi Master, whatever that means!

DH left on NY day to go back to work. Things are frosty at best between us at the moment . He has a job interview for a job in Bradford next Friday. Not sure whether I'm pleased or not . We've been through some really shitty times before though, so no doubt we'll get through this one as well.

Spending time with my family has been great, and being there for mum as well. I don't want to leave, as it probably will be the last time I see her when I go in later today, but she could go on like this for weeks, and we need to get DS back to some semblance of normality (and I need my own space again).

milkyJammy · 04/01/2008 15:12

Hi Holly! (and Hi Daisy though I suspect you might be gone again by now?)

I think I need to spend less tiem on MN as well. But for now I am enjoying a sit down and relax while DD has her first nap up in her cot for ages. Suspect I won't have much longer though, as she rarely sleeps more than half an hour and it's been 27 mins so far...

HellHathNoFury · 04/01/2008 15:15

Hi Holly, How are you? been busy?

Hi Jammy... less time on MN can sometimes be a good thing, I had time out a while ago and it did me the power of good, but then again it is really helpful to have people that care and to talk to them when you need to.

DS has a temp at the nursery. They can never get him to nap. FFS I had this problem with the CM, how hard is it to put a LO in a cot, give him a dummy and check on him occasionally?!!

He doesn't like to nap it's true but I have told them his 'tricks'
