Baby Sputnik's first post on Mumsnet

HellHathNoFury · 09/01/2008 11:02

a veritable genius in the making!

Just got a call from the nursery. DS is ill. I am in london. DH is at a hotel in company meetings.
Fark

sputnik · 09/01/2008 11:05

I was just saying on the other thread how stress and lack of sleep make you want to eat. Not doing too great myself as we had night no.3 of the baby waking up and screaming inconsolably. If he's not better tonight I'm taking him to the docs as maybe it's his ears or something. If I had any chocolate I would eat it.

sputnik · 09/01/2008 11:07

If he's not eating and has red cheeks it could be an ear infection Fury. Did he cry more lying down?

milkyJammy · 09/01/2008 11:12

come round here sputnik, we have tonnes of the stuff. I am going to out it OUT OF THE WAY later as it is killing me having it sitting out on the side staring at me every time I go into the dining room

milkyJammy · 09/01/2008 11:12

that should be put it out of the way - my chocolate does not have anything to declare about its sexuality!

HellHathNoFury · 09/01/2008 11:12

hmmm good point sputnik

he's hardly eating anything at all, cheeks not particularly red but is generally very unhappy and clingy and tearful and somtimes just screams, especially after he coughs.

milkyJammy · 09/01/2008 11:20

one choc reindeer, one bar green & blacks cherry, 3 choc oranges, 2 boxes brandy beans, 1 box ferrero rocher, 1 box thornton's fudge, 2 tins and 1 packet sweet biscuits, 4 packets savoury biscuits, 1 big bag crisps, 1 big bag rice crackers.

HellHathNoFury · 09/01/2008 11:21

good lord
at home all I have is a pack of chocolate digestives

milkyJammy · 09/01/2008 11:21

oh and 1 bag peanuts and 2 bags cashews

sputnik · 09/01/2008 11:24

Fury, sounds like he should probably see a doctor, what do the nursery say? Can see why you would be reluctant to leave work early though.

Jammy, you have more willpower than me, I would just have eaten it by now! Which is the reason I don't have anything sweet in the house (except raisins, and they're probably not going to last long)

HellHathNoFury · 09/01/2008 11:28

DH is a champ and has told his work he has to leave the hotel and meetings and told them his family come first and he is taking his son to the doctors!

Bless the DH

Yes Sputnick I think you are dead right, I think he has an ear infection. Now I think of it it all makes sense. Poor little sod.

milkyJammy · 09/01/2008 11:28

We don't normally have stuff like this - it's Xmas leftovers (People obviously couldn't think what to buy us this year)

milkyJammy · 09/01/2008 11:29

Poor DS Fury, and 3 cheers for your DH

HellHathNoFury · 09/01/2008 11:30

lol Jammy I didn't think you just resided in a chocolate factory
Although it would be nice!

DH is a star. I am off to do some work now before I get fired.

sputnik · 09/01/2008 11:35

Hooray for your DH Fury.

Cashews are great in stir fries. Chocolate oranges less so. I really admire your will power.

milkyJammy · 09/01/2008 11:40

Yes, I think the nuts will be used in cooking. Some chocs will be given away, some will be kept for special treats

thisisRialifebaby · 09/01/2008 11:43

Your DH obviously deserves all the praise you give him fury. Hope S isn't too ill.

Bloody hell jammy. I sat on ds2s choc reindeer while he was opening his stocking. Looks like it's been hit by a truck!funnily enough neither of them seem to want to eat them

OP posts:
HellHathNoFury · 09/01/2008 11:47

LOL@ Ria!!!

Yes my DH is wonderful and I don't deserve him.

HellHathNoFury · 09/01/2008 11:51

having said that -

I still reserve the right to be thoroughly pissed off with him as and when the desire occurs and expect everyone to agree on what a selfish/thoughtless/lazy bastard he is.

milkyJammy · 09/01/2008 12:17

but of course!

BumperliciousIsOneHotMother · 09/01/2008 12:55

hello, I am lurking! V bored and boring at the moment.

Good on DH fury, hope ds feels better soon, and ds2 ria!

Spunik, much sympathy for your night wakings.

Right, off to have some lunch. Back later

HellHathNoFury · 09/01/2008 13:14

Jammy, Bumper, we still up for our meet?

milkyJammy · 09/01/2008 13:15

I am (and I think DH might come if it's a weekend).

When?

justbeme · 09/01/2008 13:17

Afternoon! hope DS is well soon Fury. L's been pulling at her ear, but I thought thats also a teething thing - isnt it?? Shes also had red cheeks on and off.

Also - another stupid question - how do you now wash your los in the morning? When small I used a top and tail bowl. Recently, ive just used a flannel whilst sitting in high chair on face/hands. Today I thought - "bad mother" - so I attempted to wash her with a flannel via water in the sink in the bathroom whilst on my lap, perched on edge of bath - What a palava!! tips pls!! - I cant be doing with more than 2 baths a week at mo!! - and I cant remember what I did with DD1.
