have just loaded up our new bread maker for the 1st time. Loaf should be ready about 9.10 tonight. Just doing a basic white to start with

justbeme · 08/01/2008 17:48

Ohh Id love a bread maker - would be interested to know how it turns out jammy!!

I got an organic box at Tescos last nite reduced from £8 to £1.60 - so am making bubble and squeak with the cabbage and curly whatsit!! (although the doxzy cashier put it thru at full price to start with)

Also got asparagus reduced to 40p - do I boil it and then give as finger food?

milkyJammy · 08/01/2008 17:57

we had a bread maker before JBM and it was great. Then it broke so for a couple of years we have bought our bread. But now we are organised enough to have space to put one again I'll let you know how it goes.

trace2 · 08/01/2008 18:54

oh a bread maker i want one mmmm

sorry hi all lol!

i just bought a swimming cozy off here for chloe then she said i could have 1 then 4 for a £5 so have said yep, dont even know if chloe can go or if she will like it , still not heard if shes going to have to waer a harness yet for her hips ,but dont want to miss out lol.

and shes got physio on friday now to help strenghen her! then in hospital on monday just phoned today we have to take every thing in nappies milk food, ,no tv or microwave its like goingback years at the childrens hospital.

anyway dare any of you loverly mumsnetters like to share a villa with me at disney?

annobal · 08/01/2008 19:30

Good luck with your loaf Jammy. I loooove my breadmaker - I'm never organised enough to get out and buy bread so I just whack on a loaf most days. I love that you know what goes into it. We have a Panasonic - never a bad loaf. ( sorry - a bit obsessed with my breadmaker - need to get out more).

Good luck tonight Ria - when my parents came to visit, I was cleaning for weeks beforehand but then my mum is a neat freak and I'm not...

JBM - well done on the Tesco purchase. Am currently sitting down to ryvita and cheese - your bubble and squeak sounds much more appetising.

Trace - DS3 sees a physio as he had a knotted muscle in his neck - he's much stronger than the other 2 were at his age so I think it must be doing something - she even comes to my house to see him. A villa at Disney sounds lovely but I think we've probably got enough on this year ( we've just payed for our oz flights)

HellHathNoFury · 08/01/2008 19:56

Trace if DS was a bit older we'd love to! I can't wait to take him to Disney but we'd rather he was at an age he can actually appreciate it.

trace2 · 08/01/2008 20:05

lol not going till april 08 need to save

FairyFay · 08/01/2008 20:09

Hi everyone

I have a breadmaker although tbh I don't use it much. My favourite is the dough setting which I use for pizza bases - scrummy and so easy.

We'd love to go to Disney too, but not for another 4 or 5 years probably. I think we're going to wait until both DCs are old enough to really understand what's going on and be able to go on the rides.

HellHathNoFury · 08/01/2008 20:10

ditto fairy!

thisisRialifebaby · 08/01/2008 20:59

Hi all, phew I'm knackered. "Xmas dinner" was delicious though, and DH is going to make soup with the turkey stock and left-over roast veg. We'll need fresh bread for that - from the bakers though unless I am nice to DM and ask to borrow her breadmaker and stuff. (Too much faff for me TBH, don't mind making the occasional loaf by hand though)

JBM, I believe if tesco charge you the wrong price (ie not the advertised price) they are supposed to refund what they charged you and then give you the item for free! I got my nephews b'day present like that one year.

I'm no expert but I would expect swimming to be good for Chloe as it's meant to be the best all-round strengthening exercise that has no impact on problem joints/muscles isn't it? Big hugs to you and her.

justbeme · 08/01/2008 22:10

Oh yes - good luck Trace - swimming will be fab as well - L really enjoyed it (have to try and drag myself back to a pool sometime...!)

Ria - im not sure Tesco do that now - I know they used to, but dont think they've done that recently.

btw been using those teething granules - the instructions say to put on Lo's tongue - how do you reckon they work then? I had visions of them going on their gums and "grinding" for relief - but L seems to just like swallowing them!

thisisRialifebaby · 08/01/2008 22:48

Don't know about teething granules, baggins seems as if he grinds too. I suppose the ingredients are absorbed and work the same way as other herbal stuff but are easier for LOs to ingest?

damn tescos moving the goalposts!

thisisRialifebaby · 08/01/2008 22:51

I just want to shout another massive THANK YOU to my secret santa.

I went out for a walk in the cold nasty rain/hail & wind an hour ago - just round the block - to top up my step count, and had aboiling hot bath with a Lush star thingy in it when I got back. GORGEOUS. Now I have to convince DH we need to go to York again so I can go to the Lush shop (i have never been in) and buy more stuff.

milkyJammy · 09/01/2008 08:41

Well the unanimous opinion in the Jammy household this morning is that the loaf I made in the new breadmaker is delcious! DH, myself and C have all enjoyed lovely toast for breakfast It was so nice infact that I had to resist snaffling the rest of the slice as C (very very) slowly but surely gummed her way through half a slice.

HellHathNoFury · 09/01/2008 08:49

NOT HAPPY

Dog pissed on the carpet 2 nights in a row - he NEVER does this so am confused as to why

But mainly I am NOT HAPPY as DS has been ill, so no sleep for us for a couple of nights, however the drugs helped and he was on the mend. He looked almost all better yesterday but NOW he is teething badly and as such has refused ALL FOOD and screamed/cried/moaned from 11pm to 4am until he exhausted himself back to sleep.

Plus I am so tired my diet has gone to shit as I keep snacking to keep my energy levels up.

Yippeeyiyay

trace2 · 09/01/2008 08:57

oh sorry about dog weeing on carpet but usaly its when theres some thing wrong or they dont like, it could be cos of illness.

thisisRialifebaby you can get lush on line i love it too my fav is the honey sey smells loverly mmmmm good enough to eat, and makes my skin very soft.

where can i get the teething granuels from?

HellHathNoFury · 09/01/2008 09:00

Hi Trace
you can get them from Boots. They are £4.75 a pack I think? TBH they seem to do the job but short-lived relief as far as my experience with them goes.

Funny you said that about him being ill, my Mum said that. I thought perhaps it's because he is guzzling a whole bowl of water through the night - boredom? not sure.

Anyway will see how he is tonight. He has been impeccably housetrained since he was 10 weeks old so this is very odd for him.

milkyJammy · 09/01/2008 09:23

could the water guzzling be a sign of illness?

HellHathNoFury · 09/01/2008 10:04

Nah he has always been a water guzzler.

He likes filling his mouth up with as much as he can then walking up to you, opening his mouth and it all comes out.
He is truly a delight.

God only knows why I love him so much but I do the mangy mutt.

Couldn't rehome him in the end.
When I was PG and very depressed and reclusive he was all that kept me going some days.

HellHathNoFury · 09/01/2008 10:30

Is anyone there?
Lurkers?

Oh come on stop having lives, it's not fair

milkyJammy · 09/01/2008 10:32

I'm sort of here - playing with DD with one hand and MN with t'other

thisisRialifebaby · 09/01/2008 10:46

I am NOT having a life.

The stress in Rias house is never ending.

There was an "incident" involving DS1&2, DS1s desk and DS2s nose this morning. Cue inconsolable sobbing and blood and snot, a massive black bruise on his nose and no school (poor baby couldn't go in that state). Don't think we'll ever find out what really happened

DH has buggered off out to meet with someone who can't decide if they want him to work for them but are quite happy to get his advice on setting up their new business. We'd better get a free meal out of it when they open

sorry about your dog and ds fury. tis impossible to diet when you're tired

OP posts:
HellHathNoFury · 09/01/2008 10:50

thisisRialifebaby · 09/01/2008 10:57
