Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
foxythesnowman · 05/01/2008 16:03

Hmm, all quiet here, must be off having a life

BumperliciousIsOneHotMother · 05/01/2008 16:33

Hi foxy, just pottering around, thinking about meal planning & looking for recipes.

foxythesnowman · 05/01/2008 16:39

I do like a spot of meal planning. I feel much better about my day if I'm not thinking "What on earth am I going to feed everyone" 5 times a day. Have just made a spinach and ricotta lasagne and fishcakes. Off to tackle the folding-pile. In a minute.

How are you Bumper? Is life good?

foxythesnowman · 05/01/2008 16:52

Good God, I'm bored.

The laundry needs folding and putting away.

YAWN.

milkyJammy · 05/01/2008 17:14

Hi bumper/foxy/any lurkers
how are you all?

I am exhausted. Had morning out (until about 3) with DH and DD, then after a very late lunch I took the decorations down. DD has been tired for ages but erfusing to nap, which has made her very demanding, but has just caved in after a fit of tears following bumping her head (a little, not hard) falling over.

HellHathNoFury · 05/01/2008 18:06

I am shit
DS is quite ill and we are both knackered after no sleep
Sadly he is no better today and the knowledge of another awful night ahead of me is really getting me down.
Let's hope Medised does what it says on the tin.

BumperliciousIsOneHotMother · 05/01/2008 18:28

Oh fury, what a pile of shit. I really hope he feels better soon. Have you had it?

Jammy, I think they are getting to the stage where they are going to start getting bumps and bruises.

Foxy, thanks for asking, life is up and down as ever chez bumper. Pissed off to have spent an hour doing online shopping as sainsbo's to find that they charge £5 for delivery! Fricking hell, I'm on a £40 a week budget, tis a lot of money! So I'm going to have to rethink, and maybe do a fortnightly online shop. It's stressful trying to balance meals that are healthy/cheap/suitable for DD and also easy for me to cook. I'm not a bad cook but definitely need to widen my repetoire to make cheaper meals and I don't want to spend all bloody evening doing it!

I'm feeling pretty bored and lonely, but hopefully that'll improve now the hols are over. There's not a lot to do round here with a LO. Would welcome any suggestions!

HellHathNoFury · 05/01/2008 18:39

hmmm things to do, things to cook...

I make good use of the freezer!

Also Bumper if you do a fortnightly shop, if you spend over £70 Sainsbury's deliver it for £2.50. Just a little bit of difference, it might help.

Things to do...hmmm...do you have any soft play areas? DS loves nursery just for that reason.

Wow... medised, 3 minutes later and he is soundo.

foxythesnowman · 05/01/2008 18:47

Bumper, if you have a delivery tue - thurs its £2.50 if that helps.

I reckon its worth the delivery as it saves me loads on those impulse buys I don't make.

Do you have a local market? Always loads cheaper.

Check out mysupermarket.com. Will give you a comparison of the 4 big supermarkets.

Oh Fury, poor thing. Am glad the Medised worked. Makes my DS2 a bit hyper so phew for you!

annobal · 05/01/2008 19:19

Evening everyone.

Fury, you poor thing - that sounds awful. Good news on the Medised, really hope tonight is better.

Bumper, it probably doesn't help as Ocado is a little more expensive (their specials are good though) but their delivery is free if you spend over £80 I think - you could order once a fortnight??

Foxy - are you still okay for a meet up soon - I need to start thinking about DS3's Aus passport... (and of course it is always lovely to see you).

Hope everyone is well - am about to take down the tree and DH is making noises about renting Die Hard with a vengeance tonight - think you might be seeing a bit of me tonight

BumperliciousIsOneHotMother · 05/01/2008 19:26

thank guys. i think if i do it it will have to be fortnightly.

glad ds is down fury. what's medised for?

i don't know about soft play centres. there maybe one at the community centre. think i'm going to have to find more groups. the loneliness is worse than the boredom.

annobal · 05/01/2008 19:29

Groups are definitely the way forward Bumper - I've met some really lovely people there. We don't really have any soft play nearby so couldn't pass comment on that.

Meant to say above - and anyone else who would like to come along as well - Fairy? Andie?

HellHathNoFury · 05/01/2008 19:35

medised is paracetamol with an antihistamine and a sedative - suitable for 3months +

annobal · 05/01/2008 19:37

Fury - how is your new job going?

HellHathNoFury · 05/01/2008 19:44

Very good so far - seems like a good place to work, the commute isn't that bad really, the people are friendly and it's the first company I have worked for in about 5 years that does actually seem to know what they are doing and what's important.

Although ask me again in a few weeks ;-)

But so far, so good!

How are you? Looking forward to going back to Adelaide? We looked at but can't afford the houses!!!

BumperliciousIsOneHotMother · 05/01/2008 19:52

what do you use it for? colds and stuff?

glad the job is going well!

HellHathNoFury · 05/01/2008 19:54

colds, teething.

Same as calpol but a lot stronger, the pharmacist warned us against overdose. It's the first time I have tried it and so far it is very good, but it seems very strong.

annobal · 05/01/2008 19:58

Bumper - it is great when LOs are really stuffed up and over tired. It helps them sleep and clears their head.

Fury - really looking forward to it - we're just about to submit DH's visa application so it's all moving ahead. Funny though that it didn't really start to happen until a couple of weeks ago as we'd become quite complacent... Also, can't wait to get there after Easter - haven't seen the house for 18mths. Think I'm going to go for about 6 weeks and DH is lining up some interviews...

Are you thinking of moving back then? Be great if you did...

annobal · 05/01/2008 20:37

Obviously not great when LOs are stuffed up and over tired - that's what Medised is for...

Fury, glad the job's going well!

Off to watch Die Hard - wish me luck

sputnik · 05/01/2008 20:45

milkyJammy · 05/01/2008 21:05

Amazingly Sputnik, I read your message straight through without noticing anything was wrong. I understood it perfectly and it was only when you apologised for your keyboard that I realised.

NattyThomasandEllen · 05/01/2008 22:57

everyone yay me cos i am dead proud of myself!

thisisRialifebaby · 05/01/2008 23:18

Hi...

Gawd, I go out for the day and there are no posts. I think that might be an indication of something missing in my life

Poor little DS fury, hope he is better soon and that the medised helps. I find it invaluable when the big boys are ill, they get nasty rashes & worsened eczema when they are ill. The other day baggins looked so poorly we tried calpol nighttime and bugger me if it didn't make him hyper, as normal calpol does with the others (so we use medinol). Our local morrisons is near quite a rough suburb and they won't sell medised because of misuse issues!

hi annobal!

did you enjoy your facial jammy?

thisisRialifebaby · 05/01/2008 23:33

what's your dummy-ridding secret natty?

just deleted anothe long post by hovering the bloody mouse over something.[grrrrrrrrrrrrrr]

BTW, visited ILs again today and I must say DHs family are the lovliest, pleasantest , most thoughtful people I have ever met...shit, bit my tongue

DH is watching Nottibng Hill - he is such a girl

thisisRialifebaby · 05/01/2008 23:37

Just cos I'm back you've all buggered off.

I hope you're all sleeping soundly and happily and your LOs are calm and well.

Does anyone want a Mothercare38F nursing bra in white? It's very plain. I bought it on ebay but it didn't fit and I can't be arsed to try selling again as I can't do with the pervy emails.

Goodnight all, have a happy day tomorrow.
Rx
