Ditto on the chattiness keeping me sane - some groups' threads last for weeks or months!

I will keep everything crossed for no rain. I am inspired to start looking for a hol for us in May/June - I'm desperate for one.

justbeme · 04/01/2008 20:08

Evening!
Havent caught up yet - just about to do so - Hope you're all ok.
This is the 2nd night where L won't go to sleep!! AGGGHHHhh - she's crying now - she was sooooo tired I put her up at 6:30ish and she's still awake - Ive done Tallulahs no eye contact and staying there with tummy hold, leaving her for 10-15 mins etc, then Ive had her on the boob and rocked her to sleep, but the minute I put her in her cot - awake! Oh and Calpol as well - any other ideas whilst I catch up?????

FairyFay · 04/01/2008 20:10

Hi JBM. Similar problem here - teething gel helped.

BumperliciousIsOneHotMother · 04/01/2008 20:14

Gosh, just catching up and seems like it's been a horrid time for a few so far, am typing as I read

Foxy, really sorry about your grandma, and the rest of your shitty day . Big hugs to you x

Tallulah, how scary for you with DD, glad she is ok now though

Oh and yucky for you andie. DH had the d and not the v. Hope you feel better soon. Make sure you are keeping your fluids up, get some Lucozade or dioralyte.

NT&E, sorry to hear you've been through the mill, but glad you have come back and glad you can talk to us It doesn't do any good bottling it up so hope you can release on here even if you can't in RL.

Good to see you back elsbells. You are right about the break! Didn't feel like one at all for me!

Good news about DH ria! Hope he enjoys his new job.

Daisy, good to have you back. about the calpol. They better give you some serious compensation! Sorry you have had to leave your family and your mum . No wonder things with DH are frosty with your mum's situation, his job interview, Christmas etc. It's just the pressure of it all. Things will get better

MHC, sorry to hear you aren't well, what's wrong with your legs? Hope you enjoy disneyland!

Hi fury, sputnik, holly, jammy, derlor did I miss anyone? Ooh, fairy, think lemonade was a v good idea.

Not much to report here. DH is better and I seem to have got away unscathed (so far...) DD is fine. Our evenings are much better now we have started feeding and putting DD to bed a bit earlier, she goes down much better and feeds better as she isn't so tired. She obviously needed it [clearly haven't a fricking clue what I am doing], but I have always wanted to string it out thinking it'll make her wake up much earlier, but her bed time doesn't seem to have much bearing on her wake time.

Am feeling a bit buoyed as have been to posh hair salon for a consultation and am going to have a decent cut and colour (peek-a-boo lights apparently! And a choppy bob). I know it goes against my new thread of not buying stuff/spending money. But in my defence I saved the money from my yearly bonus and have been meaning to do it since October. By the way, for those who are interested, my thread is going really well and lots of people have joined in in some way or another. It's the little difference that count. And of course what I really want to do is go and cain my credit card in Office, H&M and Benefit, but that's why it's a challenge! I hope it doesn't seem like I'm being smug. I'm doing out of financial necessity more than anything .

justbeme · 04/01/2008 20:21

Caught up!
Sorry about your Gran Foxy - was she very old and was it sudden?
and after reading Bumpers last post - I'll say "ditto" to everyone - as she put it all so nicely!!
Right off to administer some teething gel!

FairyFay · 04/01/2008 20:22

Go for it Bumper, an ego boost at this time of year is an essential not a luxury

HellHathNoFury · 04/01/2008 20:22

Fairy, I have been looking at holidays and found one that looks FAB.

Look up the 'Blue Bay Palace' in Fuerteventura. We are going last week in April probably - half board for a week for the 3 of us (including flights) is just under £1000! (obviously that varies depending on who you book it through)
Bring it on I say.

FairyFay · 04/01/2008 20:22

fingers crossed jbm

FairyFay · 04/01/2008 20:23

Ooooh Fury, that sounds lurvely - off to look.....

HellHathNoFury · 04/01/2008 20:25

It has childrens clubs etc as well

here

HellHathNoFury · 04/01/2008 20:27

My parents went there a couple of years ago and said it was amazing, and they caught a ferry to lanzarote for a day trip as well.

If you are interested there is a company called 'security travel' who organise the cheapest deals.

I always wanted to be a travel agent...

HellHathNoFury · 04/01/2008 20:33

some reviews
trip advisor rates it well too.

Anyway now I really do sound like a travel agent so I will shut up.

Anyone fancy coming along though? Could be fun, more the merrier!

Elsbells · 04/01/2008 20:37

Hi to Daisy, LMN, Bumper, Fury, MHC, Ria, Foxy, Holly Sputnik, Fairy, Jammy....anyone else?

Goodness I was just about to start my "chat" but DD is waking and DS isn't going to sleep.

WHen will it end?????????

ARGH

Fury that place looks lovely, to have a real holiday we definitely need a kids club.

Right off again.

May attempt to come back on if not, have a good evening ladies.

milkyJammy · 04/01/2008 20:37

Well, i talked earlier about cutting back on MN, so here goes, I am off early (even for me) tonight to watch some tv and spend some time with DH (and to finish writing DD's thank you notes - why she can't do it herself...)

FairyFay · 04/01/2008 20:38

I have just looked at those tripadvisor reviews as well - looks fatastic, but the kids club is too old for DD and we really need something to keep her occupied - will put it in the memory bank for a couple of years' time. Will keep looking

HellHathNoFury · 04/01/2008 20:39

I am off now too. I get so little sleep these days I need to grab my chance while I can.

If anyonce fancies holidaying with me and the zoo (DS and DH) get in touch and we can organise dates etc.

Night all!

justbeme · 04/01/2008 20:41

OMG!! Fairy the teething gel worked!!!! Thanks!
Friday fish and chips have just arrived - so im off to stuff my face - think I deserve it!

FairyFay · 04/01/2008 20:46

JBM, you can thank my Dh for that tip - I did the same as you last night with no success, he came home gave DS a blob of gel and hey presto he slept! Tonight I just went straight for the gel!

FairyFay · 04/01/2008 20:47

I'm off too, early night desperately required. N'night everyone

thisisRialifebaby · 04/01/2008 20:53

Thanks for the hat info. Hmmm. Have nice hols MHC.

No snow left, just rain. I hope it's dry tomorrow.

Oh I'm bored tonight.

I have to confess that I am really pleased for DH, but worry that it will turn out to be another life-controlling cowboy job, or he'll bugger it up by being bolshie and arrogant. Also I am ridiculously twitchy about being on my own again.

But I will try to look on the bright side and think this will be "the" job and we can have LO no 4 in a couple of years (if he lasts more than 6 months that is)

Well done so far bumper, keep us posted. I AM interested, but was a bit overwhelmed by some of the more militant posts. I am signing up with freecycle and passed on the book sites. Will also be meal planning due to diet. Did anyone read this thread ?

OP posts:
BumperliciousIsOneHotMother · 04/01/2008 21:34

I just read that thread ria, it turns out that lady has 50k worth of debt, but now she has been offered a PT job she said she could put it in a 'holiday pot'

Anyway, I'm off too bed too. Have long restful nights everyone!

HellHathNoFury · 05/01/2008 08:18

Restful night my arse
We have been awake ALL NIGHT

DS has D&V and a cold... I think the last time I was this tired was during labour.

milkyJammy · 05/01/2008 08:33

Bad luck Fury

Fairly good night here (sorry). One short feed at 2am (I took her off after a few mins as she wasn't feeding that well) and then slept until 6 Asleep now on my lap, just as I want to be doing stuff - guess I'll just have to stay on MN

We're off out this morning. I'm finally having my facial, and DH is going to take her round the shops while I do that. She'll scream if I leave her at home with him, but be fine being out with him.
