I am going to make a confession!

I have never been out on new years eve!

PillockOfTheCommunity · 31/12/2007 19:21

NEVER?
actually, thinking about it, taht would make sense, you've always had the children there!

PillockOfTheCommunity · 31/12/2007 19:21

I find it all quite an anticlimax tbh

How old is your dh? does he go out?

OP posts:
cazboldy · 31/12/2007 19:25

yep that's why!

he's 32, he has a couple of times, and a couple of times we have had people round, but not usually.

PillockOfTheCommunity · 31/12/2007 19:30

I don't remember many new years eves, I know we went to my gran a lot as a child (mum and dad always argued over who got us that night ), and I went to my dads local year before last with M.
We are heading off there shortly, M slept this afternoon so will be up late anyway, and J will sleep in his pushchair.
Not planning to stay late, just go out for a drink so I don't feel such a sad case sat here alone

Just popped in to wish the April Mummies a Happy New Year, and I've read the latest news.

NGT - I am so terribly sorry. Sending love xx

And love to all the rest. I hope that 2008 brings all of you (all of us) much of what we want, some of what we deserve and more for our children than they either want or deserve,
Bugmum xx

I here and surviving! thankyou mammyjo & ellie for the texts - they meant alot x

I did see dr this morning, at which point I didn't know either way and have an appt. at epu on weds am. But at lunchtime I knew, pain, heavy bleeding, clots and a jelly discharge.

DH has been great and the party went well even when they started talking about getting pg next year (2 first time mums).

Anyway, dts asleep, ds1 soon to bed and I won't be long after him.

Wishing you a great 2008, we have all been through alot this year with health, cars (eddas & ellie ) probs with oh's (always their faults ) that '3' year old problems , deaths (of all ages ) plus many other things.

Lets take care of each other and our families who are the most important things in the world. x

geordiemacminxpie · 31/12/2007 19:38

Hey ladies;

So sorry things didnt work out oooggs.

Quiet night here, C been in bed since before 7, dp cooking us an interesting nice meal. Probabaly have a few glasses of wine and possibly even play some bored games/xbox... its rock n roll in the minx household!!

oooggs · 31/12/2007 19:38

thank you caz for letting me know those details - I am so nosey

BahHumBugmum · 31/12/2007 19:39

Pillock - I would like to keep it! And talking of names, oddly I dreamt about you last night: I dreamt I met you, and told you how much I didn't like your nickname, as it made you seem awful when you were lovely! I was pleading with you to change it

And on that note, am off to the excitement of the Kettle Chips, red wine and DVD DP and I have planned...oh, the glamour. As a (much) older mum, I'm the one with years of serious party girl behind her (opposite of Caz, I suppose), and it wasn't until preggers with DS1 that I really calmed down, so I can't really moan about quiet NYEs
xxx

for all of you that are going out - have a fab time. for all of you saying in with OHs - have a loved up one. for all of us on our own tonight - have a mellow one.

see all you lovely ladies in 2008. xxxxx

runnyhabbit · 31/12/2007 20:02

We are not going out tonight.
Dh is feeling ill and very tired cos W was up for 2hrs in the night. He's got his "fangs" coming through (those really pointy teeth iykwim)
What dh has forgotten is that I was also up with W, and I also had to get up this morning to take W to nursery for his settling in session.

He's been moping round like a wet weekend.

Arrggghhhh, he is so frustrating. I have been feeling the same, but the boys still have to be fed and watered. How come when we're both at home, he does what he wants and I stil 'work'

and.....breathe.....

runnyhabbit · 31/12/2007 20:04

Btw, W loved nursery Was crawling around the place and don't think he'd noticed I'd gone.
Me on the otherhand, felt completely lost without him

NorthernLurker · 31/12/2007 20:23

oh Runny - well that is reassuring and hard at the same time. I am dreading taking b for her sessions - got another couple of months yet though.

Oooggs - good to hear the party went off well - hope you get a good nights rest.

POTC - enjoy your time out!

WO - hope your dh has an easy time of it at work and you have a restful time at home

Hello to everyone else

Dh is making curry here, then we have Harry Potter and crisps and dip - oh and the remnants of a chocolate bread and butter pudding I made yesterday

so we should be ok to roll into the New Year

fpesha · 31/12/2007 20:42

Nathan has half-inched one of Daddy's beerds! Think he may be a little drunk He says he's fine, its hard to tell with a 4 yo He said I was a pencil but that's fairly normal for him! He's being very funny tonight. But hes at that age now where he doesn't like people laughing at him I have explained that Mummys and Daddys love their children so much that sometimes when they see them being lovely they laugh because they're so happy to see their children being so lovely. He came and gave me a hug when I said that but still keeps getting stroppy when we laugh

Oh and Dylan is asleep - YAY - and he slept through last night from about half 9ish or whenever it was till half 6 this morning - WOOOOO HOOOOO Please let it continue!!

ellesbelles · 31/12/2007 20:45

Hi all, not had time to catch up with all the posts, but wanted to come on and say a quick hello and to wish everyone a very Happy New Year!

Very quiet New Year going on here too. Dp working til 10pm, then plan to partake of a takeaway, watch a cheeky wee film and hope no one tiny wakes up 10 times between 11pm and 7am! (Talking about dd, not anything to do with dp) I suppose it is Hogmanay...

elkiedee · 31/12/2007 20:47

Hi all

We had the biggest physical Sainsburys shop I've done in years - usually we just get a bit there and do a bigger online order, but although we've still got plenty of some things left, we'd run out of a few.

We also stopped in the new cafe there and treated ourselves to a few goodies.

Danny is in bed and dp and I will see the New Year in together. Then we'll see my mum tomorrow, dad the next day and mum and aunt on Thursday.

oooggs, glad you survived the party.

weeonion · 31/12/2007 20:47

eb - hey to you missus! u get my text earlier??

cazboldy · 31/12/2007 20:51

You're welcome oooggs! take care of yourself! x
