Well I was going to start this thread saying that hopefully things have settled down for all of us, but I know they haven't for some.
We have all done really well to get this far and deserve a huge pat on the back for being such fantastic mums! (twin mums, have two pats on the back each)
I also wanted to say thank you for all the support, especially in the last week or so.
Well this is rapidly turning into an oscars acceptance speech so I'll stop there!

For Katy!

NorthernLurkerwithastarontop · 30/12/2007 09:38

Love the title - dh was saying to B only yesterday 'soon you'll have been out for as long as you were in!' - weird feeling really

SOL - good luck with getting out - you have had a rotten time.

Forgot to say - B is now crawling comfortably - sometimes on her tummy, sometimes more classic position - and she started pulling up on things yesterday!

StealthPolarBear · 30/12/2007 09:41

thanks mammyjo
NL, you have a rugrat!

Hello ladies!

I am back from an, um, interesting trip to Spain. We did have a good time but my Mum was very prickly and gave me a personality assasination on Xmas Eve and was very snippety for most of our stay (I think she was civil the day we arrived and the day we left).

That said she was fine with the kids and we did have a good time because they were there and a distraction from the sniping, we had some lovely days out on the beach and finally made it to the Alhambra (do go if you are ever in the area, beautiful place!).

Got back late Thursday to find our boiler has broken down and we need a new one, except no one to do it til the New Year so we are showering at DHs office and have 2 oil filled radatiors for heat (thank God for my new Ugg boots is all I can say). Last night we went to a friends for drinks and had a lovely time, actually felt some Xmas spirit there!!!!

Big pressie hits were the Wii, DS is loving Mario Galaxy, and DDs camera (though did not realise it had a two eyed view finder and with her one eye not working she only holds it up to the good eye and so we have lots of pictures of half of things!) and we got Leo the pop up ball blast which he loves!

So that is my crimbo update, oh and for once no one is ill in this house, long may it contnue!!!!!!

Merry Christmas one and all

WestCountryLass · 30/12/2007 10:00

Just read a bit of the old thread and fathomed out there is atleast one new baby coming along - congratulations NGT! Anymore I should be aware of, eh?

StealthPolarBear · 30/12/2007 10:11

bleeding was only that little bit in with the discharge and only a streak. I still feel pg and very dizzy because when pg my blood pressure plummets.

Will keep you informed x

StealthPolarBear · 30/12/2007 11:03

hi ngt
sounds good that it was only a tiny bit
Sounds like you need to take very good care of yourself

OP posts:
StealthPolarBear · 30/12/2007 11:04

Sorry, easier said that done I'm sure but you know what I mean! Does no-one in your family other than your DH/DP know yet?

OP posts:
cazboldy · 30/12/2007 11:10

just popping in so i can find you all later!

take care ngt.

molly has her first tooth! you can't see it, but can definitely feel it! ow!

she also crawls now and pulled herself up to standing on ds3's new brick trolley yesterday!

between her and the cat i will definitely need a new christmas tree next year!

mammyjounderthemistletoe · 30/12/2007 12:35

ngt, glad it was only a tiny bit. Hopefully a good sign. Hope you get chance to get some rest and maybe a little time to yourself (although I know it is probably unlikely!). Look after yourself xxx

Pillock, meant to tell you that when I log into msn I cant see your photo, but all I have to do is click to see your contact card thing and it is there. Hope that is of some use!!

WCL, glad you had a good time (ish), shame about your mum . Glad the presents were a success

Dh has told me that he wants to take our Christmas tree down today. Am I being completely unreasonable in telling him to sod off?! Just after new year yes, but not yet, much too early!!

elkiedee · 30/12/2007 12:59

Hi everyone, I'm home. Still feeling a bit down about having to leave Ilkley, think I've got the New Year blues. This time always makes me feel like the holiday from real life is over, though dp doesn't go back until Thursday.

I'm also feeling mopey about New Year. It's not that I want to go out somewhere wildly exciting - I really don't like clubs and stuff anyway - but friends have invited lots of people round from 1999 to last year. I suspect that since their kids have grown up - youngest is 13! - they may have decided they're free now to do something different.

Is anyone else likely to be around for a virtual New Year's Eve?

fpesha · 30/12/2007 13:08

Def too early to take tree down!

NGT - I had a little bit of bleeding with D, just a few streaks, and was toild it could be an implantation bleed? Think it is fairly common though so try not to worry (although I did!) And I know who you are too but wont say more than that!

Have horrid headache Think its because of my tooth or my neck, not sure which but feels like its coming from somewhere iyswim [fhemm] Neck is stiff from falling asleep feeding in awkward positions and needing a new matress and tooth is bad cos I have had an absess for ages but keep putting off going to dentist Its just so much hassle, injections always take ages to work on me so I normally end up having 3 or 4 and still having some sensation but then I go numb about half an hour after leaving dentist and stay numb for the rest of the day. And dont really wanna have to cope with that and all 3 dc.

Off to ring my mum - have a feeling shes about to say she cant have dc for new year

fpesha · 30/12/2007 13:29

Yep - step dad has mental health problems (post traumatic stress and other things I think) and finds this time of year particularly difficult apparently, partly due to change of routine, so they have decided that the boys would be too much. DP's mum made it seem like a real big deal when she had dc the other night even though we went back to their house after our night out so were there in the morning, so he doesn't want to ask her again.

I wasn't even sure we were going out but just would have been nice to have a night off, be able to have a few drinks and relax and not worry about D not sleeping or having to get up with him in the night

So yes Elkie - I will be here too! No doubt dp will be asleep on the sofa

mammyjounderthemistletoe · 30/12/2007 13:37

Sorry to hear that pesha, made all the worse as you were looking forward to it.

I have no plans for NYE either, but will probably be tucked up in bed long before midnight!! My life is just one big party

WestCountryLass · 30/12/2007 14:00

Not been out at NY since having DS1, 7 years now!!!!

We've no one to leave the kids with and I wouldn't pay the fee's or leave the kids with an agency babysitter. Doesn't seem worth it as would have to be hear in the morning and no sleep/hang over with kids is horrid! We tend to stay in and have the in-laws over for a meal on NYD which suits us fine (but like I said have had 7 years to get used to it!).

My FIL and his GF go out to a local pub with a disco so there is life after kids but it might be a few years before I get to see it

oooggs · 30/12/2007 14:09

we are having a party!!!!!!!!!!!

3pm - 6.30pm (when dts go to bed) and it is the 3 families who I have met at baby club, one also has a ds the same age as ds1.

so we are all happy children playing and mummys & daddys catching up then when kids in bed so will I be about 8.30pm.

Oh the life in the oooggs household

have never liked new year

Maveta · 30/12/2007 16:19

Oooh oooh oooh I know who you are NGT (I think)... OMG and how exciting! Now I think I know who it is I can be properly excited about it all..

Love the new title, so funny to think of it like that.

Well Eddie (yes, he has a name) was back this morning but we chucked him out again when we went our to the ILs for lunch. Not seen him since we´ve got back but I´m sure he will be.. he´s got us pegged already for sure our other cats are less than impressed.

I think I´ve figured out part of N´s problem with sleeping. It all stems from his daytime naps going haywire and him going to bed overtired. And his daytime naps went haywire when I tried to cut out his mid morning and mid afternoon breastfeeds. I cut them out because on another thread the consensus was that on the days I work we should try and get him to go without (instead of having a formula substitution) and my mum was finding if she didn´t give him a bottle he just wouldn´t sleep. So instead of then confusing him by letting him have a feed on some days and not on others, I was trying to just cut those feeds out instead and up the food/snack/water intake.

So what do I do-o-o-o-o-o? Oh please help me wise april mummies!!!

PillockOfTheCommunity · 30/12/2007 16:42

ooh, are we gonna have online NY party then?

AngeGabriel · 30/12/2007 17:41

Hello all,

Have tried to catch up but failed misreably.

Have had Izzy's Dedication today, which went really well. She was very well behaved considering her ears are still bugging her, but then her Grandpa was doing the service and she adores him, so was quite happy being shown off around the Church.

SOL - Sorry you've all been so ill, sounds horrible. You know an ear drum has perforated, when there is discharge coming out of the ear!! Izzy's are still weeping, I think she might need more anti biotics.

NGT - Have beeen thinking of you a lot! Hope you haven't had any more bleeding. Praying and thinking of you xx

We're going out for a bit on NYE but will probably be back before midnight!

NorthernLurkerwithastarontop · 30/12/2007 17:59

Hi
Ange - good to hear the dedication went well
NGT - good to hear you still feel rotten if you see what I mean
Pesha - what a shame about the babysitting
Maveta - so he won't sleep without a feed, but he can't have a feed because you're at work and don't want to confuse him/your supply by feeding some days and not others - is that right? Could your mum take him out for a walk at a set time and stay out for a set time - he might sleep in those circs perhaps?
Elkie - hope the transition back to non-holiday time is easier than you expect - how was your journey home?
Oooggs - I like the sound of your party

Madly waving to everyone else {{{{WAVE}}}}
