goats are really greedy sol - you didn't miss much - they have no manners! my bil has loads and the billy goats stink! well at least i think it's the goats!

Sexmasonlegs · 20/12/2007 22:03

meant to ounces! Dh gets peed off with me tapping away on the lap top whilst he is watching TV, so was trying to type quietly!!

Sexmasonlegs · 20/12/2007 22:04

Caz, pmsl! I like bottle feeding the baby goats best. And the calves - they are my favourite.

I find the ducks smell the worst!

NorthernLurkerwithastarontop · 20/12/2007 22:10

Oooh yes NGT - hope you get on ok at docs - pleased things are looking up a bit for you. I was thinking - in terms of the 'stuff' you need for a new baby you've got a ready made lending library here you know - I've got lots of girls clothes, vests etc that I won't be getting rid of - and everyone else here will be in the same boat I'm sure

christmascrackerboldy · 20/12/2007 22:12

yep our ducks make a real mess - they are indian runners.

baby animals are sweet, but have to agree calves are lovely. we halter train some of ours and ds1 and ds2 were leading two of them today.

horses are my fave though!

NorthernLurkerwithastarontop · 20/12/2007 22:14

I think whilst feeding B very very early one morning I heard that draught horses are coming back. Have you heard this Caz - or did I dream it?

christmascrackerboldy · 20/12/2007 22:19

i haven't heard that, but there were some new police horses on the streets again today - think it was in essex!

i am desperate for a ride - will have to beg dh on sat. i know i can't tomorrow as we have got to tb test our cows

christmascrackerboldy · 20/12/2007 22:23

I can't believe i just wrote that

i mean

i really want to go riding and will have to ask dh to have the dc so i can go out on saturday!

NorthernLurkerwithastarontop · 20/12/2007 22:25

I was! have just had my friend request accepted by my little step brother on facebook. he's just gone off to cardiff uni and has loads of drunken pics on his profile!
I asm in he always used to be the studious one, very friendly and sensible, excellent conversation and very mature iykwim, none of the normal moody teenage type stuff. now he's smoking and drinking and staying out all night!

elkiedee · 20/12/2007 23:50

Hi to anyone still up, I'm here but playing online scrabble rather badly. I keep getting really strange letter combinations - all consonants, all vowels or all the same letter.

elkiedee · 20/12/2007 23:58

goodnight

iMustBeMad · 21/12/2007 01:20

I'm here
I'm okay, boys weren't with me
Feeling very silly, was entirely my fault, still not sure what actually happened.
surprisingly jovial actually, combination of shock not having hit really, and the fact that I have escaped with just bruises, the boys weren't with me,which makes me very, very thankful indeed. I am feeling a bit blessed to be honest.

Off to read the rest of the thread then I'll be back to fill you in on what I do know!

normabutty · 21/12/2007 01:24

Just a quick post to say ignore my email everyone. I won't be back.

iMustBeMad · 21/12/2007 01:49

Ok
didn't get to do shopping as we went into town first and boys were so whiney I just couldn't be arsed, will have to try and get over there at the weekend, although with no car will be interesting

This'll make you laugh, I had the vouchers in my handbag when I crashed, the man that stopped said I should get anything valuable out before the car went to the garage, was there anything I wanted him to look for in the car. I blurted out "ooh, my mumsnet present is in my bag"
I think he put it down to the shock

I was supposed to be going out with Cath tonight, we were going for dinner as my christmas present from her. Matthew went off to Andy's house, I dropped Joe at Gran's. Minutes after leaving him I was on my way down a windy road that I don't use very often. There is a particularly nasty corner which I think I probably didn't take all that well, which put me a bit out for the next, much better, corner. The roads were a bit slippy, I caught the verge on my side of the road. Being a silly girl I'm not that great at stuff like turning into a spin. I went across the road, hit the verge the other side which flipped the car.
Whilst hanging upside down I had the presence of mind to put my hazards on, so when a car came the opposite way a few seconds later he saw my car, stopped, and came over to help me. He was really lovely, helped me out of the car, and managed not to mention the fact that he must have seen my underwear (clean I might add ) as my bag was open and it had all spilled out . We called my uncle who lives round the corner and he came out with my aunt. Police were also called, they eventually turned up and set up cones etc.

The car is not great, but not showing as much damage as you would expect to see, it really did just look like someone had picked it up, turned it upside down and put it back on the road again . I think it will probably be a write-off though as everyone seems to think flipping it means they automatically do that.

I am feeling okay, good even. The fact that you'd all done such an amazing thing for me today made me feel very special, and something which could easily have pushed me over the edge has gone by with me thinking how lucky I am.

I am alive, in just slightly different circumstances I may not have been. My boys weren't with me, usually on a Thursday night they would have been.

I have no car, but it's nearly Christmas and I can get away with a week off if I need to, plus the boys will have so much going on they won't notice being at home more, and town is so busy I'd have been getting the bus in even if I had the car, so it's not that bad.

THANK YOU

Dippy, you were right. God really does move in mysterious ways.

iMustBeMad · 21/12/2007 02:15
