You know Abby, I am very lucky and it is interesting, but there is still plenty of daily drudgery but perhaps with a little more time for dh and I to spend together. Plus at the moment in Kenya they have just had their presidential elections and it is such a close run result between two candidates that they can't yet call the result, consequently there is quite a lot of violence and insecurity. That's the downside and being far away from lovely shops family and friends.

You are always welcome to visit

Besides you need to remember what a great job you are doing, two children, a full time job being a primary school teacher is pretty amazing.

AprilMeadow · 30/12/2007 10:18

Lups, I go back on the 15th Jan. I'm off on the 18th as i need to travel to Wales for the 2nd part of my Grandad's funeral, then have a training course to learn Sage (the accounting software) on the 30th & 31st. I think the 10th, 17th & 24th (all thursdays) are swimming as well. Other than that i will be a fre lady

OOh cant wait to see it on tv

Mrsjollyballs · 30/12/2007 13:03

Hello everyone, I have missed you all sooo much but life has been hectic chez Les Cerises.

I have tried to catch up as much as poss, Sorry christmas day wasn't a ball LG&t, as others have said your kids know what you do for them and how you would give your right arm for them. Exp obviously thinks he can buy them, but they are far from daft and will not be fooled. You are the best he is a twat!!

JW, vodka and coke? Sorry you are feeling sick, it's not fun, even more now with a littleun to have to keep going for. bluuugh!

M2CM, glad you've got some help and are beginning to feel a little better.

MKG cookies look fab will be having a go at them. Yummmmm

Cam I can't think about how close it is to you starting your new life. It reminds me of us doing it. Time goes so quickly though and before you know it, you'll be having a fab time, settled, good friends (lovely sun tan) and we'll all be missing you and saving like mad to come and visit. Car no good for me I'm afraid, steering wheel is on the wrong side.

Christmas day was a little bit of a let down for me. I always find that though, I imagine a fab, harmoiuous, happy day for all and then it never happens, it's the same as normal, dad's in a grump; kids screaming at each other and I am fed up before they've finished opening their sack presents. dinner was late, m needed her sleep so was a pain in the arse and got put to bed half way through X-mas lunch. The afternoon was better, dh's Wii is such fun, I have whipped his butt at golf a few times now.

H had a fab birthday, we took him ice scating it was such fun, even Maddie had a go, she loved it. Everyone was in a lovey mood and we came home for pizza and cake, it was just a perfect family day.

AM, sorry to hear Ella is on antibiotics too, H and J have both been on them from Christmas eve. Chest infections and tonsilitus, bless. Much better now though. Thank you so much for their presents and h's b'day bits. You are very kind and I'm glad for you the parcel finally arrived.

Lups, have a good day today.

I am about to add some pic's of what has kept me away for so long to my profile, please ohhhhhh and aghhhhhh acordingly.

Love to everyone else. xxx

MKG · 30/12/2007 13:39

Thanks Julie, I will be looking for a recipe for you. I have a couple recipes that require sourcream. Here's the question do you all have cake mixes in a box over there?

My mom had a great time over there. Her two complaints were that her money was literally cut in half when she exchanged it. In fact one of the hotel workers asked her why she would vacation over there when everyone over there wants to come here on vacation. She said everything out there was very expensive. Her other complaint was that green peas were on all the menus. I think she had her fill of fish and chips.

Lupins71 · 30/12/2007 13:44

MKG we do have cake mixes, do you mean the kind of thing where you just add egg and water, fish chipa and peas is a national dish - but we do eat alot of other things look forward to more recipes

Mrsjollyballs · 30/12/2007 13:45

lol, MKG at the peas and fish and chips. It is expensive, she's right! can't get cake in a box here, but sure you can in the UK.

ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh fish and chips

camerYULEmama · 30/12/2007 18:54

oooohhhhhhhh arrrrhhhhhh what a lovely kitchen MrsJB. You must let me have the number of your tilers, looks like they did a great job

scootermum · 30/12/2007 19:57

Hi all,

Belated merry Christmas to you all..

We have all been taken down with the wretched vomiting disease at various points, but have managed tog et back home from Mums now-bit later than we thought aswe were too poorly to travel before..at the least though we were all pretty kuch ok for Lilys second birthday ion Boxing day and her little party was lovely..
DH and I know trying to buff ourselves up enough to go out for my first non preggers NYE for three years tomorrow (assuming my lovely parents are well enough to babysit, everything crossed)We are off to the Xfm New years eve thing at Brixton Academy which is a big indie disco and some bands, and should be grand provided we arent being sick..

Am thinking of having small test drink now to see..what should I have?Gin?Or some leftover Advocaat?

Sorry to hear about your Christmas Day Lgandt..and gald things are better now..DH off till the 8th is nice eh?

Hey Mum to Charlotte..glad to hear you were brave enought to get to your Dr..Lots of people arent so good for you...might see you on ebay..

Morning sickness julie...Im weirdly jealous!

Not long now then Aprilmeadow for the work..how are you feeling about it?Im going back at the end of Feb and I feel less bad about it this time than I did last time..which sounds terrible, but Lilys behaviour at the moment is driving me to distraction!Which isnt to say that I wouldnt much rather be off with them but at times 10 mins without a tantruming two year old to manage would be lovely..

When are you going Cam ?

Lovely kitchen Mrs JB..Nice to see you

Big hello to everyone else

And Happy New Year to everyone and all the babies..if I dont get on before..

AprilMeadow · 30/12/2007 20:19

Mrsjb, what a lovely kitchen, it looks gorgeous. So different to the guided tour you took me on Glad all the gifts arrived. Was lovely to chat to you the other day.

Hey Scoot, sorry to hear that you have all been poorly. NEver nice around the festive period. Wow your NYE sounds like great fun, hope you are all feeling up to it.

Cam I cant believe your moving day is nearly here.

Got myself a Dalmation today......... of the Nintendogs variety She is called Daisy and is following the same line as my children and not listening to me!

MKG, Dh & I love going to the states for the fact that we get twice as much for our money

Got some gorgeous clothes in the sales for Ella. 3 pairs of cute shoes from Monsoon plus some nice little outfits. I have also been stocking up on my wardrobe but mainly for work. Am trying to get with the fashion and hoping i dont look too ridiculous.

I have a very sore right boobie Its all lumpy and keeps leaking even though i finished bf'ing 2 weeks ago. Any ideas on what i should do to ease the pain? They have nearly returned to their pre-Ella size, i just hope they dont go any smaller.

Pinkjenny · 30/12/2007 21:15

Hi girls

Sorry for not popping in and wishing everyone a fab Christmas, but have had my hands full playing with the most beautiful little girl in the world. Will attempt to post some pics in case you don't believe me.

Am considering not going back to work in HR, but retraining as a midwife. Have just requested a prospectus. Am I hormonal do you think?

scootermum · 30/12/2007 21:19

Just the old cabbage trick maybe AM?

I got Lils some very nice boots for a fiver today in Mothercare..Nothing for me though as following my month of excess im too fat, annoyingly despite being sick for two days..

2nd Jan Cam goes-have just seen an email from her

Coupled with which have just watched last nights Robin Hood and was not happy with the ending at all!So now im in a blue mood indeed..

Decided on gin for the test drink..its gone down ok-ish..

Mae has very bad conjunctivitus..any one know anything that can be done..GP not open tomorrow...

scootermum · 30/12/2007 21:23

Hey Pinkj..no not hormonal at all..Im trying to persaude DH to pay for me to learn how to become a Driving Instructor because I have lost my mojo for managing an Extra Care Service!
So far he is laughing in my bface but I am letting him watch the Darts (I beg of you!) in the hopes of softening him up!

Off to try on some prospective outfits for tomorrow now-bit of a tough call as you cant go too glam as its an indie thing but its NYE so I dont want to go totally without a bit of sparkle..ho hum

Pinkjenny · 30/12/2007 21:30

Driving instructor eh? Very lucrative! I took five attempts so am thinking that's not for me. Haha.

Have posted three more pics of my baby girl.

MumtoCharlotteMay · 30/12/2007 22:20

Evening all

PinkJ Lexi is very cute, gorgous photos.

Scoot, lovely to see you. Sorry to hear you were all ill over the festive period. Driving instructor eh? Too bad you don't live in Scotland, I need to learn lol!

MrsJB your kitchen looks fabulous! Worth all the hard work in the end I'm guessing. Though I'm guessing me making kokes about tiling wont go down too well

Am could you try some gentle massage, cabbage leaves or having a warm bath to try and soothe said sore boobs? Or take a couple of painkillers?

Cam when you leave can you not still come on here? You're not leaving us all for good surely?

MKG tis very expensive, really want to come over to the states with an empty suitcase and shop! Get so much more for your money.

JW sorry to hear you're suffering with the morning sickness, I hated it with a passion!

Well I feel thoroughly depressed that Christmas is over! It went so quickly. But trying to stay positive for the New Year. Getting myslef back on a diet and exercise programme to shift baby weight. Apparently eating chocolate and doing no exercise doesn't quite shake it off like it used to!

I can't believe how big C has gotten all of a sudden. I looked at her the other day and I was shocked to see that she's growing up! Where did the time go? It felt like yesterday we were all having babies! Am now incredibly broody all of a sudden.

Have had a drastic change of mind about what to do come September, and am now considering nursing. I'll make up my mind one of these days, but feel really excited about doing nursing. So we'll see.

Have found camera so will hopefully be able to load some xmas pictures of C. Hope all are ok x

AbbyLou · 31/12/2007 08:03

Scoot, if you go to a chemist they can give you the drops for conjunctivitis now. C had it the week before Christmas and it was really bad. We went to the chemist and they gave us the drops that the doctor prescribes. It cleared up in less than a day.

juliewoolie · 31/12/2007 09:32

Hi everyone.

teething problems need some help, well I think its teething.

*mmmmming all the time like a constant moan.

*bright red and swollen cheek

*chewing his fingers

These I know all classic teething signs.

But for the last day or so he is now off his food, appears to be constipated and yesterday threw up alot. So not like him.

Do you think its related to the teeth, or do you reckon he has a "virus" on top?

Have been giving him Nurofen but it doesnt seem to be making a difference.

juliewoolie · 31/12/2007 09:40

AM hope your boobs are feeling a bit better mine have done ok but occasionally leak a bit of milk.

PJ, Scoot nice to see you. Glad I was not the only one suffering the darts last night.

MrsJB the kitchen looks fab, well done on all the hard work.

OH PJ excellent idea on the midwifery thing my sis is one and it is incredibly diverse not all helping ladies pop a baby out.

Cam when do you go? We will miss you my lovely make sure you get tinternet pronto. xx

scootermum · 31/12/2007 10:15

Sounds like teeth to me Julie...Medised?Cures it all..

Thanks Abby re the drops..Have got in at the GP today though as DH has finally decided to go and get re referred for his ears-he hasnt been able to hear properly out of one of them for approx 5 years and it drives me mental!

Im very depressed about Christmas being over as well..Dont feel like ive made the most of it really this year..However I am looking forward to my detox Jan as well-time to stop abusing self with Quality street and pizza for a bit I think!

With re the Driving instructing-I really fancy it..think have the necessary skills through 8 years of being a passenger with DH and managing not to have a nervous breakdown-he is the worlds most scary driver..

Nursing would be a great job..I always quite fancied being a nurse when I was younger but then decided on social work instead for some reason..think I didnt fancy nurse uniform..you go for it MtoCM..

Lily was up between 3am and 5 am this morning with diorrhea and generally just screamy so not the best prep for the big night out..in fact am in two minds about leaving her really..that said she is watching the Stritly Come Dancing final on Sky plus at the mo and dancing away quite happily so we shall see..

Well..Happy New Year all..lots of love to you and the babies and see you all on here in 2008!

xxxx

Mrsjollyballs · 31/12/2007 11:13

Morning everyone.

I hope you all have a lovely evening and a sending you all the best wishes, luck, adventure and blessings for 2008.
You all are truly fab ladies and all deserve it.

xxx

Thanks for the ohhhs and aghhrs on the kitchen. We are very pleased and it certainly was worth the hard work and effort.

Mum2G · 31/12/2007 15:55

Lovely Kitchen MRSJB, i bet you spend all your time in there now, i have never spent so much time in the kitchen since G was weaned, i am trying to teach myself to cook for G - never been much of one in the past - but am not doing too badly - keep cutting myself though, Dh is wary when i sees me with a knife in my hands!

We found out on christmas morning that G has his first tooth!

not too blue that xmas is over as lots happening over the next year, i finish my studies - and then have time to start work and bring in some more pennies, Dh is applying for new jobs, and we have started to socialise a lot more, which has been great and made me feel a lot more settled - you wait i bet we have to move again next year!

I thought about doing nursing when i was choosing my degree prog but decided that i could cope with the smelly side of things but not sick! Best of luck with it Mum to Charlotte May!

all the best to all mummies and babies for 2008!

camerYULEmama · 31/12/2007 16:04

Happy New Year to all May babies and mummies!

Just a quick one from me to say things in Kenya are not looking so hot so we may have to postpone leaving for a couple of extra days - its very depressing.

Mrsjollyballs · 31/12/2007 16:53

Oh Cam, I'm sorry to hear that, what a shame, you think you've prepared yourself mentally and then things change. How are the chidren feeling about the move? Do you think they understand? I remember how hard h found it, he was convinced we were on holiday, after about 4 weeks I remember him saying it was time to go home as he missed Auntie M. It broke my heart!

Mrsjollyballs · 01/01/2008 00:05

HAPPY NEW YEAR ALL

AM thank you for your text, I can't get any to send, I've tried.....

cinnamontam · 01/01/2008 09:46

Happy New Year everyone. Wishing you and your families a great 2008

xxx

camerYULEmama · 01/01/2008 10:19

Happy New Year and a fabulous 2008 to you all.

I had 3 G&Ts and now have a hangover How pathetic is that?

We have changed our plans to now leave on Saturday, hopefully everything will have calmed down a bit by then.dd is most upset. MrsJB ds1 is very excited but like H I think he will want to 'come home' after a couple of weeks.

Someone was asking about help moving to France here I volunteered your name, I hope you don't mind
