Tam I forgot to say how lucky you are going to that exhibition, I always loved going there, we used to live nearby. Sadly dh doesn't think its too glamorous a trip either, he has done 8 hours here to London then 3 hour wait then 8 hours to US then 1 hour wait then 2 hours to Hicksville Arkansas for a workshop. Poor guy. And he has a shopping list of nappies and formula to bring back

Julie I have to say you are being incredibly upbeat and strong about your sad situation. I just wanted to say that when I had a similar 'missed miscarriage' and had a GA it took my body 6 months at least to get back to normal, which I don't remember anyone explaining properly to me (but to be fair I was in Ethiopia!) and I was so desperate to be pregnant we ttc for months, straight away afterwards instead of waiting and the emotions of ttc plus the effects of the op meant it was a difficult year. I sometimes wonder if I had let things happen 'naturally' would my body have gone back to normal quicker, but I couldn't wait. I suppose what I am trying to say in my ramblings is allow yourself time to recover properly afterwards and if you feel rotten and emotional let it out, we shall be here for you.

largeginandtonic · 04/02/2008 08:25

Pink how are you today? (i ask after you as i know Lexie is fine) You must stick to your behaviour therapy and find some techniques to calm yourself. She will be ok, she loves you and needs nothing else except you. I have texted you,

AM your hol sounds fab!

MRSJB you have been fb the lovely tripleytigger, she is bloomin bouncy crazy that woman! Endless cheeriness and she has triplets

CAM how is it over there? Any more scares? When will dh be back? You must post pics of them all with the wildlife

Abby dont fret about the food, Jonah ate nothing until he was 18mths, he was booby and a few bits only! They are all different.

We have 7 new members of the family

SKYTVADDICT · 04/02/2008 10:27

M2LB and JW so sorry for both of you.

JW - I had a missed MC before having C and had the "procedure" under GA. We too found out at the 12 week scan and it had died at approx 9 weeks. Thats one of the reasons I am so unsure about the current pregnancy but all is well up to now, I just haven't really thought about being pregnant or made too many plans yet!

Pink - you are a brilliant mum and its good you are getting some help. Even being on no. 3 DC I panic at some of the things C had and does, it is only natural.

Hello everyone else. We haven't gone to baby group today - we have a rat under the shed and I am waiting for the rat man to come. DD2 and I spent all Saturday morning watching it come out, get food from the rabbit hutch and go back - cheeky buggar. We now have a very unhappy rabbit who is confined to his hutch and probably a very unhappy rat who has had his food source cut off!

cameroonmama · 04/02/2008 12:42

Sky, we have the African equivalent to moles - mole rats They are throwing mountains of dirt up across my lovely lawn. The gardener (hark at me!) has concoted some bizarre looking booby trap, lets hope it works.

LG&T - my dc are the wildlife

The situation seems a bit calmer, so fingers crossed the negotiations that are underway result in some positive action and the unecessary killing can stop.

Will post some pics of barefoot children in a minute.

cameroonmama · 04/02/2008 12:43

7 new family members LG&T? Whats that about then? That was quick work

scootermum · 04/02/2008 15:00

Hi all,

Abby-Lily still eats only what R is eating, so try not to fret too much..She might just be a small eater..

PinkJ..Glad to hear you are getting some help..that shows what a great Mum you are..

You are brave JW..Still thinking of you..yes yes we must neet up before I go back.See how you are feeling next week..

Gardener Cam?Like Mellors off off Lady Chatterley?I knew you had motives for moving over there..with dh being off spying so often and all!

Big hello to everyone else..

Lily has had a UTI and has been quite poorly since last Wednesday or so..she had one once when she was about Mae's age and ended up having a Febrile fit so she is at high rck of having both again..we whipped her to the Dr straight away and she got anti b's but they took a while to kick in and so we have been up all night tryig to keep her cool with luke warm sponges and what not and trying to make her drink water..she is on the mend now though thank goodness..I have a cold now though and feel rubbish as does dh..so he is off sick in bed and I am sick downstairs with the kids..because of course he has manflu, which is worse than anything I could possibly get

M had her 8 month check this morning and now weighs 19.9 but is uncommonly long apparently..all fine but we have to take her to the GP has her hip creases arent level or something, so there may be a 1% chance she has dislocated hips..am sure she will be fine, think they are just being hyper careful as HV's are want to be ..

No news from my work..at this rate I will be off with stress before I go back..

charleymouse · 04/02/2008 15:12

CT love the penguin pic glad you had a good day out.

AM still trying to decide if DD will enjoy Disney or not but she has just staryed watching Disney cartoons and loves Mickey. your timeshare. DH has a thing about cotton wool but only when it is dry ? he can only touch it when it is wet.

AL not really sure about CP but watch out for sores in mouth and genitals as these caused me considerable discomfort when my ?d-sis gave me CP when I was 16. Try keeping your creams and potions in the fridge as well they are extra soothing. G doesn?t eat an awful lot either, one day he will demolish a huge meal then he might not eat the next day just smear stuff about. He still has plenty of mummy milk though but obv can not tell you amounts but try not to worry have never met a little one that would starve itself. I try to give G high calorie things to help his weight gain as he doing an aerobic workout all day.

12YG another spreadsheet junky here as well.

PJ you are an excellent Mummy and you are Lexies world, do not put yourself down like this you are doing great. Don?t worry we were referred for dd having a squint and apparently it is quite common in littlies as there eyes are so close together it gives an optical illusion of a squint/lazy eye. Good luck with the therapy I am sure it will help you chill.

JW thanks hopefully we will be moving early next month. Hope you are bearing up, I really feel for you.

CM sorry you are on your own, ok wheres the pics? Like the sound of the mole rats

M2LB hope you are feeling okay second that I would be a millionaire. I said to DH theother day look at DDs legs I was in the bath with her ? she is covered in bruises. He replie d ? I do a manual job lifting heavy things all day and look better than you two? quick scan down revealed 4 bruises on my left leg and 2 on the right. We are very delicate ? we could never sleep on a pea.

LGT how are the chickens?

SKY ugh sorry about your rat, at least it only ate therabbits food and not the rabbit.

charleymouse · 04/02/2008 15:17

Hi scoot busy typing and missed your post, sorry L is poorly, snap re the manflu, DH is in bed and I am downstairs with G feeling crap. Luckily Mum collected DD this am, might see if she will stop overnight as well. DD uncommonly long but she turned out ok, fingers crossed for you. Sorry about work they just don?t get what it is like do they?

AbbyLou · 04/02/2008 17:40

Hi everyone, thanks for the reassurance re R's eating. It just really stresses me out as you think they should at least be eatng something by now!! She has refused her food at the cm today but of course has guzzled all her milk. She is currently entertaining herself on the floor while I get ready for a night out! Woohoo, I am actually going out! I am going with some friends from work to a local Chinese for a New Year celebration meal. We went last year and it was ace, fireworks, dragon dance, the works. Plus the food there is excellent. I'm glad I'm going out because the boiler has packed up and it's freezing here!
Scoot sorry to hear L is poorly. C has taken a decided turn for the better now and has had no new spots yesterday or today. I'm so glad it's on the way out. Now just waiting for R to get it.....

AprilMeadow · 04/02/2008 18:16

Evening

Been on a lovely training course again today... this time to learn payroll!

JW, er the buisness side of things has happend and we are just trying to sort out the house thing.

CM, dh and i dont care if the kids dont like disney.... we do and thats all that counts just like bigs kids us!

I am noticing the number of sreadsheet geeks is increasing [grim]

LG&T, congrats on your new additons... how long till you get eggs?

Hello to everyone else. Will be back once J&E are in bed

AprilMeadow · 04/02/2008 18:16

i meant not grim

scootermum · 04/02/2008 18:41

It is stressful Abby the not eating..the important thing to do is not sure the lo that you are stressed, something which I haev just summararily failed at when L refused to even try her tea..cue screaming tantrum, Mummy telling L that she has 'had enough and she can starve then' (completely inappropriate she is only 2)L going besuerk and DH actually being so alerted by the noise that he managed to get off his death bed and come down and investigate..Quite honestly I am at the end of my tether with L not eating (but also probably with everything else, and I feel like the worst Mum in the world for taking it out on L)

Oh dear..think had better just make some tea for the patient, get L into bed and then go myself...

Dont envy your payroll course AM..was it dull?

Have a nice night Abby..mmmm chinese..I am going out with the girls for a Chinese on Saturday and have already decided what am having..I cant wait..(Scoot shuffles off into the kitchen to fluff some cous cous, which wont really cut it now...)

Mrsjaffabiffa · 04/02/2008 19:20

Hello, just a quick in & out I'm afraid. Will admit to skim reading (not like me) but I just don't seem to have enough hours in the day. Had a busy weekend and really wanted to catch up tonight but have realised I have two family birthdays this week, so I must make some cards to post tomorow.

JW I am feeling better bit by bit, good days and bad days, one day at a time and all that but I feel better than last week and on the up. Thank you

Lg&t, woooo hoooo chickens, watch out for the shite eggs don't stand on them. Have you given them all names yet? I am chatting to the tiggss. We chat on MSN too, met her on a chat thread, clicked, you know, been chatting for a while. She is everything you say and I have to add she has sung your praises too for which I of course agreed.

TYG, sounds like a good move for S, my parents did the whole allowance thing for us. They were strict for a while but I remember being always able to con a little more out of Dad (without Mum knowing) at the end of the month when I had spent it all on crap!! It's good to teach them to think a little early on!

Love to all, sorry if I've missed anything from anyone.

Mrsjaffabiffa · 04/02/2008 19:30

Scoot... I have completely given up with M on the eating front, I've realised that she will eat when she is hungry and she will not starve.
It is pointless having a battle with her. I am happy in the fact that what she is offered is good, healthy food and she does not pick all day. Normally our routine goes like this: I make and offer, she refuses, I encourage once, she refuses, I take it away, she gets down and NO more is said. This can go on for 2-3 days and then she will have a day when she will eat lots and well. It seems to be working for us. We call the days she eats an "eating day" and the days she doesn't a "normal" Maddie day. She is certainly not wasting away, she is not un healthy and is still full of energy.

Cards...... must go, bye. xx

largeginandtonic · 04/02/2008 19:53

TYG you are so wise, she will be a lovely lady when she grows up Is A everywhere, B is driving me crazy. He climbs on everything!

Abby i am waiting for the pox too Pretty sure that Beau and Hugs will get it. I am going to be in till March >

We have indeed got the chickens and a free rabbit They are all different breeds and so lovely. We have Prudence and Penelope, Henrietta and Gertrude, Betty and Maggie. We have already had 3 eggs, and the lovely farmer we saw on Sunday gave us a box of blue eggs to bring home so the kids all had boiled egg and soldiers for tea The eggs were warm when i got them today!

The rabbit is called Carrots (named by Hugo) The rabbit is a giant lop and i am almost definitely convinced it is a dog in a rabbit suit, i have never seen a bunny so big!!! Our other bunny Jemima is about as big as Carrots ear. They seem ok though only a bit of thumping, both girls.

We srtuggled to get them all away tonight, we were floundering under the (ridiculous and misplaced) illusion that at dusk they would all troup in to their coop Muppets that we are...

Julie how are you? Do you have a day yet? Is dh being helpful? Do you want to come and stay in thsi lunatic clam environment? We would be happy to have you and A DH can come to

Latinomom are you ok? How is the bleeding? Take it easy, can you email me i would like your address please

Scoot poor L, is she ok now? DD used to get uti's alot, she was sick and very unwell with them. Dont worry about the eating, they all do their own thing. Just remember to offer healthy stuff and no food in between if you can bear the moans I am super wicked when it comes to eating though.

How are the rest of you? MrsJB glad you are feeling a little better. Keep busy and do things for yourself.

CM did you send a rather fabuloso web cam and a yellow cardy? If you did i flippin love it! B is regularly wearing his wee cardy (so him and me)mand the web cam is great! Thank you thank you

Tea in the oven, baby crawling all over the place...

charleymouse · 04/02/2008 20:59

Guilty as charged m'lady. Sorry for the delay though I kept meaning to get to the post office and then I think the day after I had posted it I saw you were going to be away for christmas and I had planned for you to have the webcam so you and and the DCs could see each other over Christmas DOH. Also have no idea what size a "normal" baby is now as G is still in 0-3 and 3- 6 month clothes so glad the cardi fits.
I was just panicking as I had posted the receipt in case you had got a web cam since the meet up.

Good luck with the chickens Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall LG&T and the giant rabbit, maybe you could set it on SKYs rat.

AM we love Disney to went to Paris in 1996 and thought it was great.

Hello MrsJB Happy card making.

anneme · 04/02/2008 21:40

PJ- I am glad that you are having some help to chill. Remember that we all panic/worry/feel guilty at times - I think it goes with the territory so don't feel that you are unusual.

What is with all this crawling babies - S is only sitting up and flailing around on his front - no movement. Mind you I am not exactly encouraging him to get mobile!!

All this talk of UTIs has prompted me to post a question re DS1 in the health section - was going to do so here but realised that I was going on a bit and you probably did not want to hear about DS1's weeing habits - mind you, why will anyone....

lots of love to all those feeling a bit down.x

anneme · 04/02/2008 21:40

PS I like Daniel Craig...

Pebblemum · 04/02/2008 22:33

Hello all just a quick one

Sorry to hear some of the LO's are poorly

JW hope you are ok {{hugs}}

Not much to report here except A is driving me mad, have seriously thought about superglueing her bum to the floor several times today, she just wont stay put. As soon as my back is turned she is either standing up or escaping out the door. And what is the obsession of emptying all the dvds out of the stand, when i tell her off she just laughs

She is now in her new car seat, we bought her a Fisher Price one, £50 from Asda and it should last until she is 11 (yeah right cant see that happening lol) She looks so small in it but she loves it, spends the whole journey shouting chatting and looking out of the window. Poor J is a bit squashed in the middle but its not for long, we are getting a new car in August and it will be more spacious for him i hope.

J has decided he wants a birthday party this year so need to find a venue,DJ etc. He wasnt going to have one but seeing as its probably the last time he will get to share a birthday with this set of classmates (they are all going to different schools in Sept)he changed his mind. This of course puts pressure on me as he wants it to be a party to remember. At least he has given me a few months notice. Two parties to organise, one after another, I must be mad.

Am off now to relax and read my book, i remember when i could start a book and finish it within a couple of hours now im lucky if i manage a chapter at a time before i either fall asleep or the kids need me, oh the joys of being a mum lol

AprilMeadow · 04/02/2008 23:10

LG&T am loving the names of your hens and especially Carrots

Scoot, sorry that you are having food issues with L. You are a fab mummy and dont you forget that. The course today was pretty dull as it was just about setting the payroll system up. Have to wait until the end of March to learn how to actually process the payroll - thats a 2 day course. Learnt Sage Accounts Stage 1 last week, payroll stage 1 today and Accounts stage 2 at the end of next week. Nothing like learning everything all at once

Pink you too are a fab mummy. I hope that sessions help you. I know a few people who have had similar sessions and it has worked wonders.

Pebble, A sounds so cute. We put E into a forward facing seat a few weeks back and she thinks its great. She also shouts chatters away to anyone and everything. It still amazes me how quickly they are growing up. Is A any further forward on the walking front? Good luck with the party organising . I am planning MIL's wedding in May and its quite scary knowing that i HAVE to remember every last detail and make sure that it is something that both she and her partner will like.

Still no teeth here - they must be on their way as Ella was up between 1.20 & 2.30am poor little mite

mom2latinoboys · 05/02/2008 00:23

LG&T- you can e-mail me at [email protected] I don't have your address.

Got my second round of bloodwork back today. Lower than before, so I guess that's it.

I don't have anything interesting to say

juliewoolie · 05/02/2008 09:33

Morning everyone.

AM lucky you at disney, are you going to Florida or California? Not sure if in florida they have a universal studios but if they do that is also well worth a visit. OH and keep meaning to mail you re the spreadsheet will do this morning does it have everyones addresses on too?

Lvoe the new chooks names LG&T are you keepingt hem just for eggs?

OH SKY a rat yuck, I get scared eveyrtime I go to our bin cupboards that am going to swtich on the lights and see rats scurrying around.

We too have the very shouty singing baby in the car now he insits on bellowing at us if we havnt turned round and smiled at him every 2 seconds.

CAM it must be like TO The Manor Born with added sunshine round at yours with all the staff.

SCoot poor Lily I used to get UTI and kidney stones all the time was hospitalized a few times. TRy giving her cranberry juice. Also when she is sitting still give her a hot water bottle on her tummy or back, maybe one of those teddys you can microwave and she can cuddle it.

Had my app with the consultant yesterday all booked in for tom eve, still bleeding sporadically and had some quite major cramps last night but doing ok the gyn said yesterday to allow my body at least 3 cycles before we start trying again, which we have decided is a good idea. Am more concerned about the GA never had one before and am petrified it wont work and I will feel everything - irrational I know but need to have a little panic about something. JOhn is being amazing he has taken the week off work and is currently doing the ironing first time ever!

Right best crack on we have a couple of viewings today so have to tidy up again I really dont know how we make such a mess.

SKYTVADDICT · 05/02/2008 09:51

Well I'm quite disappointed that there wasn't a tail sticking out of the trap this morning! Not sure how I would have reacted if there was though.

I started a thread yesterday on Maintenance and don't really like the answers I got. I do understand them though but when you are struggling for money!!

Will be thinking of you are your GA JW. I'm sure you will be fine but it is a worry.

I am at work today and really don't want to be. C is with my Mum and she was panicing lots this morning so I don't know how they will cope.

Betta get on with work I suppose.

largeginandtonic · 05/02/2008 10:01

Julie i too had the same fear about a GA, please dont worry. It will be an inredibly light one as you wont need to be under for long. When you come round you will feel woozy for a little while and maybe sick (i was not) I was up and begging to go home withtin an hour. I am so glad that J is being helpful and supporting you.

Sky no rat??? Where is it Poor you. Did you get ripped to shreds on the thread? Sometimes people can be so mean, particularly when they have no understanding of what it is like We still only recieve £300 per month for all the children and he earns about £75k including bonus a year. I try not to think about it

The chickens are out, i'm not sure it is a good idea after last nights caper getting them in again! I am going to post a thread asking for tips

twelveyeargap · 05/02/2008 10:05

Abby - don't worry and don't force food on her. Just let her try stuff and if she'll eat things off your fingers then great. A went through a stage of wanting to eat out of my fingers, then moved back to her fingers and finally started accepting spoons. Things like an egg made into a small omelette with lots of butter are great, because you can slice it up and let her play with a bit, and feed her a bit out of your hands. It's high in protein and fat, so will fill her up as well as being full of goodness.

Pink - CBT is really great and I'm sure it will really help. However, do discuss with the practitioner whether he/ she thinks it would be beneficial to have some counselling as well. I went for CBT before for my temper and when I went for the consultation, they thought that I'd actually do better talking it out. Worked a treat.

Julie - Will be thinking of you. x

Bloody farking Vista refused to load my user profile yesterday and I had to back up all of my files, including emails, delete my profile, edit the registry and then recreate a user profile and move all the files back in. Farking useless piece of software. Good thing I'd done some research and backed up, because when you delete your user profile, it asks if you want to save the files, but it doesn't actually save them. Hmph. Took ages. Seems to be working now.
