We are in the same situation Tam, boy does it suck..

Have just made a big baby bolognese for the kids with an Aubergine hidden in it...Suspect Lils wont touch it with a barge pole but still.

As in process of making said Bolognese Lily climbed up on the kitchen table and as I was bending down to pick up a spoon from the floor, chucked a tin of chopped tomatoes at my head..so now Ive a banging headache..she cried though when she saw she had hurt me and she did say sorry which at least is something, but FFS-feel like everyone is ganging up on me today..

Off to bed now
Night all

juliewoolie · 30/01/2008 21:02

What a pain LG&T no idea what happens with shingles but hope the little lad gets better soon.

Tam just think if you are only doing 3 days a week you get the best of both worlds.

Well done scoot for sticking up for yourself you never know they might offer you back your original position. Looking forward to meeting you and the cherubs tom.

M22LB I hope things saty positive for you.

Had my booking app today was very sweet there are 2 community midwifes that I see at my GP's and they said when they saw my name on their list today they were already booking me for the new birthing center. And were very pleased to see me not atall surprised when they asked if No.2 was planned and I said no they laughed and said was I using any sort of contraception and I said no so they said well there you go planned.

Oh grand designs about to begin must dash.

big hola to everyone. x

cinnamontam · 30/01/2008 21:57

Julie - I hope I will see it like that once I'm back at work...fingers crossed. So nice to have the midwives remember you

We are going to start TTC'ing in May this year and I hope the midwives have such a nice reaction when they see me. Maybe as I will be insisting on a homebirth VBAC they won't be so delighted

Scoot - hope you sleep well

M2LB - fingers crossed for you that everything is ok

LG&T - echo what M2LB says and hope it's a nice time for you and twin to hang out and mooch. On another note - what pearls of wisdom can you give me about having a VBAC homebirth for the next LO??

twelveyeargap · 31/01/2008 09:53

Poor twin LG&T. Though maybe S can "borrow" his illness. Her school sent one of those stupid "We're not authorising any term time off under any circumstances letters" out and so we're going to lie and say she's sick when we go to Australia. Her school moved the Easter holidays to two weeks after Easter. We would have just gone for the Easter hols, to the wedding (which is Sat after Easter), but with the hols being moved, we decided we'd extend the holiday into her "actual" holidays.

Anyway, S came home the other day and said, "So and so has been off sick for two weeks. Her sister is out as well." Ahem. I'm guessing that "illness" doesn't show up on the league tables, but authorised and unauthorised absences do. Tsk.

Don't like having to lie, but they're giving us no option.

DH and I did the local pub quiz the other night. Just the two of us on the "team" and we came joint 2nd out of 14 teams. Not bad eh? There was a "weather" round and I managed to pull geography lessons of 15 years ago out of my head. Anyone know which layer of the atmosphere "makes" the weather? Anyone? It's the troposphere. So there.

Is it too early to tell the babies "NO" etc, when they slap at your face and try to scratch your eyes out? Just was very stern with A and she looked crushed and DH said I was being mean. He wouldn't be saying that if he was the one with the red weals on his face and neck.

largeginandtonic · 31/01/2008 10:11

TYG Beau is doing that too He pulls me to pieces and lunges after me. I have started looking very stern too He also lunges at other kids for a tasty suck on their cheek I am dooooomed,

He is also crawling, feck.

Jacob is ok this morning, i am keeping him dosed up and he seems happy enough. Not happy to be missing school though ( i have geeky children)

The schools are clamping down on unauthorised absence, we are ok though. No holidays to Australia for us

Tam just be prepared to fight your corner at every opportunity, it becomes tedious. Take in stats to your consultant app, and if you can avoid them. They only whinge at you I was on some kind of red lettered list too when i was close to my due date. All the midwives were notified i was a VBAC at home, they would arrive and say "oh it'd you" Some were ok though and you will have Mars with you, i wouldnt argue with her

When i had Hugs (in 40 minutes) the midwife who came had barely got in the door and set up before i started pushing. She had no time to read my notes. After he was born and she was reading through she gave a gasp as she read my history. C Section, long second stage followed by transfer to hospital and 3rd degree tear, home birth with 2nd degree tear that needed hospital visit to stich and then she had just delivered Hugs who was a shoulder dystocia. Poor woman said she was so glad she had not read it all before.

That was long sorry

Pebblemum · 31/01/2008 10:24

Morning

just a flying visit to say hi

LG&T ooh shingles, not nice, dh has had them. Hope ds doesnt suffer too much

M2LB hope things work out ok for you

E has just told me that A has got a small bum, thought he was on about her proper one but then he said that her willy has been chopped off and now she has two bums, one small and one big lol

This weather is poo. My cousin is flying to Hawaii today for his honeymoon, I dont envy him taking off in this wind. Had planned to go on a shopping spree but all I feel like doing is wrapping up in a duvet and drinking hot chocolate

Mrsjaffabiffa · 31/01/2008 10:45

Morning all....

M2Lb, keeping everything crossed for you sweetie. xx

Poor Jacob, bless his geekiness. tehe

Scoot I really hope things work out for you job wise.

TYG, I tell J no. She normally laughs at me and I'm sure she doesn't really know what I'm saying but thats how they learn surely? It's partly because if I tell h or m No when they've done something upsetting then I feel, for them, I should tell her too. IYKWIM

Lg&t, My sis is coming in two weeks. yey, sooo looking forward to a ten week old to squidge. I am feeling better, tired today as Maddie has been puking all night so we managed 3.5hrs sleep but mentally I feel much more in control and positive.

cameroonmama · 31/01/2008 11:08

Sending you all lots of lovely sunshine here catch............oops looks like you missed

Gosh LG&T poor old J, shingles are nasty plus tedious isolation for 2 weeks is not fun. And a crawling Beau. I chuckled at him sucking on the other dc cheeks, this is J's favourite thing - lunge and suck, lunge and suck and grab mummy's necklace. He stands up in front of me but hasn't worked out how to move his legs and throws himself at my chest area. What with his size and lunging abilities he'll make a great prop forward.

Sorry to hear that Maddie has been vomming all night - yeuk, hope its nothing too serious.

Troposphere?? Ahmm, of course I knew that one, but you didn't give us a chance to reply.

Scoot, what an absolute shame about what is happening with your job, I can't believe they would really want to lose you, someone who is so committed and passionate about it. I do hope it works out for you soon. Same goes for you Tam, I hope you find a better solution.

I haven't got the heart to say 'no' to J just yet, spoilt last baby that he is....I have feeling it will be dd disciplining him from now on in

Mum2G · 31/01/2008 11:19

Morning ladies

what a horrid day! I am sat here in my pj's and planning on having a lazy day, as G is at childminers, i am skiving from doing my work as got a bit of a lurgy, again! I think spending the day curled up with a good book is on the cards, can't remember the last time i read a book - apart from baby ones and work ones.

I am currently trying to talk Dh round to ttc, we are both very scared that i will get constant sickness like did with G though, not sure how we will cope, but i so want a borther or sister for G, and want them to be close together.

G is definately learning the no word - I sometimes find it hard to keep a straight face when saying it though, he loves to grab my glasses and generally try to detach my face, who needs skin anyway! Apart from when he is doing that he is very cute, and it is great to see his personality come through

found someone who will proofread my thesis for £40 - much more affordable - a secretary at my uni, i couldn't swap with someone and do theirs as i have crappy grammar - you may have noticed!

Anyway hope everyone has a nice weekend!

Mum2G · 31/01/2008 11:21

Keeping fingers crossed for you M2LB's, hope all works out well

juliewoolie · 31/01/2008 11:58

Morning everyone what a morning, its disgusting outside.

We have had a power cut here this morning means have only just had a shower and the flat is freezing. Thank god for In the night Garden otherwise no idea how I would have been able to shower. Although I do have some questions about the characters on that programme. Upsy Daisy is some sort of tart she goes round all day snogging the others and is forever flashing her knickers at people. Mr & Mrs Pontipine need a visit from social services they appear to lose their children every episode. Very worrying.

Mrsjb eww pucking my least favourite chilhood illness.

LG&T I would imagine that you will be doing even more baking than normal while you are under house arrest if you have any spare cakes feel free to post them ion my direction.

I have started to say no to A he does seem to respond to the different tone of voice. DP has a nipple ring (dont ask a hangover from his wild days which he refuses to remove prob still be there when he is 90)anyway Archie always lunges for it so he gets a stern no and his hand removed. Start early with the boundaries tis the only way they will learn. Well I hope so.

Pebble lol at the bum.

twelveyeargap · 31/01/2008 13:15

LG&T you also have my sympathies, because looking after sick children can be sooo wearing. Love to you and J both.

A needs an expectorant and I'm trying to find the will to get us both properly dressed and go out in the miserable weather. Yeuch.

SKYTVADDICT · 31/01/2008 13:21

Hello all

Been trying to keep up - back at work again. It is going ok and as it isn't very busy I seem to be coming to work for a rest!

I apparently have a urine infection but am waiting for a GP to ring me back. I had a call from the surgery last night to say I had an infection and there was a prescription for me to pick up. I was a little confused as I left the sample at the hospital 2 weeks ago and have no symptons so have been querying it with the pharmasist who said I should query with the GP again before taking the antibiotics. I do have a bad back though but was putting that down to being pregnant with a 9 month old to cart around (he was 21 lb 9 oz last week)and the general stresses and strains of every day life.

JW - haven't seen in the Night Garden Yet - all the DDS have on is american crap i.e. Thats so Raven, Drake and Josh, Suite Life of Zach and Cody! WeE are all bored bored bored with that!

MumtoCharlotteMay · 31/01/2008 13:40

Hey all

Had my nails done yesterday so trying to type isn't easy, forgive any mistakes!

The weather up in sunny scotland currently looks like this! It's feckin freezing! Had to go out in it this morning, so cold! Finally got C's 3rd set of jabs done, only about 2 months late.........

About to crawl into bed with a very sleepy baby and watch some house whilst drinking hot chocolate. It's hard life eh! Back to catch up later.

MumtoCharlotteMay · 31/01/2008 14:19

Oh my lord I'm snowed in and I'm not even joking! Ummmmmm..........

twelveyeargap · 31/01/2008 14:29

Oh God, SKY. I detest those programmes. We took the piss out of DD1 about them until she stopped watching them. Only one I ever got on with was Sabrina the Teenage Witch. I think that's because there weren't any grinning Disney Club types in it.

I think most children's television is appalling, though I have developed a soft spot for Charlie and Lola. Have only seen it a couple of times though. Not even sure when it's on.

Hope Scoot's Lily is ok. She was having to give her a cool bath to bring down a temp, last I heard. Possibly a urine infection.

Speaking of which SKY, if your "bad back" is around your lower back and hips, it could be the symptoms of the infection you're missing.

SKYTVADDICT · 31/01/2008 14:57

Have spoken to GP and I'm going to be retested. Have to get a sample in tomorrow.

DP takes the piss out of the girls. We think these programmes are supposed to be funny but they never laugh at them!

twelveyeargap · 31/01/2008 15:19

Hmm, just decided A needed some new books, because I'm bored reading the ones she has and have managed to spunk £50 on Amazon. Oops. Luckily DH never complains about me spending money on her.

The library is about 100m down the road. It's a crime not to use it... It's just the thought of all the sticky kids hands on the lift-the-flaps. Yeeeuucch.

Pebblemum · 31/01/2008 21:31

Evening

A has driven me mad all day, she seems to think emptying all the dvds out of their stand when my back is turned, is great fun Everytime i say a stern 'No' to her she giggles and holds her arms out to me (she knows how to get around mummy lol)

Took dh out for lunch today. I told him i thought he deserved a treat because hes been working really hard, helping FIL during the day and then his usual job at night. The truth was I couldnt be bothered to cook lol.

AM i know im a pain but please could you send me another birthday spreadsheet, went to print it out and found it hadnt come through properly (that will teach me not to check my emails more often lol

SKY ds1 watches some of those american programmes, the odd one or two are bearable but I much prefer the things we used to watch. DS2 loves Rainbow and Button Moon (when hes not watching bloody transformers lol) He also likes In The Night Garden.

Have to dig out E's birth certificate in aminute so that I can confirm his place at school for Sept. He cant wait, we have already had to buy a pair of trousers and school socks, just to shut him up Have also filled out the form for Alana to go to the pre-school when she is 3 seems ages away but my friend who works there informed me that the places for 2010 were being filled rapidly already.

AbbyLou · 31/01/2008 21:36

Hi all. Just a flying visit.
LG&T soryy to hear about Jacob's shingles. Weve got the preliminary variety - C has got chicken pox! I think we'll have a cross painted on our door soon. Since Christmas C had a virus then conjunctivitis, then R had a virus, then C started throwing up every few days then R got her chest infection. To be honest it does all add up. He has been under the weather for the last 2 weeks - being sick on and off but fine in between, headaches, tiredness and lethargy. We were beginning to get a bit worried as he seemed fine then he would go downhill again. At least this answers a few questions. Thank god the in-laws got back from holiday on Tuesday. They had him today and are doing again tomorrow. He doesn't have many spots at the mo so hopefully he won't suffer too much. I'm hoping they'll be scabbed over again by early next week! It just seems to be one thing after another at the moment, they are always ill. I can't remember the last night we didn't have to get up to one or both of them, I feel exhausted.

mom2latinoboys · 01/02/2008 01:07

AM- could you please send another spredsheet. Thanx.

mom2latinoboys · 01/02/2008 05:18

Well,

It likes like I did miscarry . Today I started passing clots of blood. I also got the call from the midwife saying that my hcg level was only 76 on my last test. I will go tomorrow for the follow up, but I know how this will work out.
DH is such an ass. He actually asked me if I did anything to make this happen. He didn't accuse me, but he asked if it was possible. I told him that sometimes he can be so hurtful unintentionally.

Well I've learned in the past week that my children are precious miracles and in the blink of an eye they may not have been here, and that I know that I'm not done having children so hopefully this time next year I will either be pregnant or have a new baby in my arms.

I think in a way this has been a gift to my life because it has forever changed me.

Pebblemum · 01/02/2008 10:37

M2LB am so sorry. Men can be very insensitive sometimes, hope he realises what an arse he was and grovels for forgiveness. You need all the love and suporrt you can get at a time like this, not silly comments

twelveyeargap · 01/02/2008 10:42

Oh I'm so, so sorry.

cinnamontam · 01/02/2008 11:40

M2LB - I'm so sorry lovely. Your DH is an ass. Man they just don't think sometimes...arghh
