Julie, ds1's birthday is Aug 6th, which is another great day.

AprilMeadow · 05/01/2008 13:39

OMG I am so crap, i completely forgot to wish SOH a happy birthday even though Facebook was reminding me - doh!

M2LB, great new name btw.

I am so bored of living in jeans, combats type things and jeans that i have really gone for it in the sales (and also on my shopping trip with Lups). I have a lovely grey jumper dress to go with purple tights and black mary janes. Some long short type trousers (to the knee) black tights and floaty tops. Can wear floaty tops now and they dont make me look pg, when i had mega boobs i still looked pg coz of how they hung. A couple of pairs of nice trousers, some tops a really pretty dress from Jane Norman (bought with Lups). Also a pair of brown and a pair of red mary janes. Mostly bought in the sales so very pleased with purchases

Ella can now get herself onto her feet by pulling herself up. It really isnt going to be too long before the dreaded walking begins - have loaded a pic to profile

AbbyLou · 05/01/2008 18:06

Hello everyone. Just getting a slaughtering on home ed thread!!

cameroonmama · 05/01/2008 19:43

mkg, love the new name, but you shall always remain MKG

Julie good to see you have outed yourself and have had a scan, how exciting! What kind of a reaction have you had from friends and family? Are you starting to feel a bit better now?

April, I can't believe it is almost time for you to go back to work, gosh it has crept up so quickly. For sure you will be the smartest most fashionable one there

Ella and Alanna sound so speedy, J is now up on his knees and rocking back and forth getting very frustrated so I expect some movement in the next couple of weeks, frankly I could do without it for at least a month, I really need him just to sit still at the moment and be cute

Because J is not so good at eating veggies and things we seem to have migrated to BLW by default, he loves to pick things up and chomp away and its actually quite a lot easier for me to sort out. I'm not sure how much he actually eats but hey, he doesn't look like he is suffering!

SKY - how are you doing? And TYG? I should think you are both too pooped to be doing much posting..

Abby, I haven't seen your thread, but stick to your guns and good luck

AprilMeadow · 05/01/2008 20:17

Abby, poor you. Tbh they sound mightly defensive! I was spluttering at some of their comments. I mean really how may kids go into the supermarket and work out the best priced bag of pasta - its on the label on the shelf fgs!

Mrsjaffabiffa · 05/01/2008 20:41

PMSL, AM

AbbyLou, they are defensive, It doesn't matter how many times you explain thet you have nothing against home ed, you are a school teacher, splutter, spit. I think I'd worry my kids would miss out on the whole social aspect from school, surely they learn that as much as ABC and 123. It's natural for you to worry, don't let them beat you down!

Mrsjaffabiffa · 05/01/2008 20:47

Ohhhhhhh I forgot, lovely pic's of Ella, can't believe she's standing! wow

lg&t Seding you some ovulating, baby making virtual vibes. remember our visualising? haha, it worked for me. I seem to remember you only managed to visualise a sandwich but you could try harder this time. I'll do it for you too. xx

Lupins71 · 05/01/2008 21:05

AM fab piccies, I feel you ar eblaming me for your constant shopping trips lol i just happen to live in a very convinient shopping area well done on ella standing, arlen can pull himself up and will stand with just you offering a little support amazes me how strong he is, havent yet sorted out which date for meet up meed to get next week and gdads funeral out of the way - thats another story, how are you getting on with daisy, we just won 1st in agility, disc at open class and beginners obedience - flimping dog tried to bite me when i was teaching it to spin!

MKG loving the name - must remember to use it

SOH wasnt aware it was your bday - but happy bday hope it was a good'n , did your hip seat arrive safely??

Dreading gdads funeral, everyone has fallen out with everyone, except mum and one uncle and the other one can decide who's side he is on! My mum (well and me too) is fuming about the will, it should not hae even been released yet and there is some really twisted stuff in there, it also seems really odd some of it - however knowing how my gdad loved to stir up trouble i shouldnt be surprised, just a shame it coudnt all be laid to rest with him

Right off to have a boring night tidying up and doing 2hr ironing

Sure i had something mega imporant to say and i cant remember - and ohhhh noo its not that before you lot start getting ideas!

jellybellybump · 05/01/2008 22:27

Hello everybody. Not sure if any of you still remember me but I also used to be on the May-07 thread. My little Mr Men J was born early June. I think I might have posted a birth announcement but after that I pretty much dissapeared from MN world.

So first of all, Happy New Year

Have been reading up a bit (although the title says enough..) and WW !!!

Congrats to the lucky ones.

Life as a mum is great, hard at times, looking at going back to work in about a month. Been a bit in denial about the whole going back to work thing by ignoring the fact I might need some child care...

I'll try and upload some photos later this weekend.

AprilMeadow · 05/01/2008 22:39

Hey JBB, glad you found us again.

Lups, wow the will has been released already... my g'dad died nearly 3 wks ago and we are yet to have that, i thought you had to get probate out of the way first. We have the funeral on Friday and then the 2nd one the following week in Wales.

LG&T you may have my af's if you like... they have come back heavier than ever before although they are now back to their 28 day cycle.

scootermum · 05/01/2008 22:57

Hi all,

Glad Cam didnt go yet..When are you going now hon?

Have been in prison in the house with my two sicknote kids all week, they have had the sickness, colds and now conjunctivitus very badly-which isnt responding to anything from the GP and is horrid..Poor babies, but I am so bored stuck in the house..tried to take L for a walk today but she didnt bear up well to the cold air so back in we came..Have had to haev the duvets cleaned twice as well as neither L or M very good at aiming for a sick bucket!

Ella meadow standing already?!It doesnt seem five minutes ago that I saw her looking so tiny in the Waterloo bar and Kitchen..I cant believe it..

Big hello to all..

Have had some friends round for dinner so off to clear up then to Bedfordshire..was a very odd dinner as we are all in Jan detox, no booze, no chocolate and only one caffeinated drink a day..Must say that four days have passed and I feel nothing but sodding miserable and head achey..but needs must I feel unhealthy and also need to fit back into my size 10 work clothes by Feb 25th
Have told DH to start saving as thats never gonna happen..

AprilMeadow · 05/01/2008 23:11

Hey Scoot, rather you than me on the detox. I am no good with dieting or things like that! It is scary how time as passed so quickly. She will be 9mths old on Thursday

Lupins71 · 05/01/2008 23:59

JJB welcome back again

AM just finished the bleeping ironing, i did an hours worth last night, the will does have to go through probate we have been told a set amout we will be getting and then a percentage of what is left after all bills and taxes ect paid, cant believe A is 9 months already

right bed for me, night all xx

jellybellybump · 06/01/2008 08:19

Morning all.

Can't believe some of us are already having 9mth birthdays. J seems such a 'baby' compared to them. he's only just 7mth.

AbbyLou · 06/01/2008 08:45

Morning all, hope everyone's ok. Welcome back JBB.
Thanks for sticking up for me everyone re the Home Ed thread. I'm leaving it alone now, I'm not going back. I can't believe how defensive those women were. It's like they have totally pre-conceived ideas of me because I am a school teacher. Some of the things they said really upset me and I'm not easily bothered. It just hurt me that I went on there to ask for some advice and just got bitchy comments and people having a go at me. I'm staying here now in the safety of friends I know.

AprilMeadow · 06/01/2008 09:18

I do sometimes forget that Ella is one of the older ones. Its weird to think that there is over 2mths difference between the oldest babies and the youngest.

I got really excited as i thought she would now be able to have a forward facing car seat as she is 9mths but then read that she has to be 9kg. A month ago she was only 7.5kg so we'll have to wait a bit longer before getting that then.

jellybellybump · 06/01/2008 10:24

How does it work with car seats? I know J is only 7 and a bit months but he weight 8 1/2kg 2 weeks ago and is very tall. We've got the mamasandpapas carseat but he looks a bit crushed in it. we've taken the sun cover off which seems to give him a bit more space around his head, but when do they have to move in a forward facing seat?

cameroonmama · 06/01/2008 10:36

morning and welcome back JB. J is already in the forward facing car seat and is much happier, last weigh-in he was 23lbs so over 8kgs. Personally if I could have kept him backward facing for longer I would have but I believe the rule is either over 8kg or if their heads start to push up a little over the top of the rear facer. I physically couldn't get J into the rear facer anymore and his head was just at the top of the seat.

Abby, you know you are amongst friends here . Sometimes people don't hold back on MN and it can get quite vitriolic. Don't take it personally, its not worth it.

cameroonmama · 06/01/2008 10:40

Sorry meant to say 9kgs.

Lupins71 · 06/01/2008 10:44

Morning all, A has been is his forward facing one for a few weeks now - he too is much happier no more screaming when we stop, not sure excactly what he weighs but about 6 ish weeks ago he was 18.9lb he is definatley alot more than that now - the other day he plished of 2 10month old meals (suitable for 10 month olds, not i made them 10 months ago )the gutty bugger, this morning i pulled out a cardy looked at the label as it looked a little on the small side was 3-6 months, sleeves fitted fine but i couldnt do the zip up cos of his tummy

Right better go and get on, friend arrives in 15 mins dd not ready to go and havent wrapped her dd's bday pressie, mum arriving sometime soon and friend has phoned to say she is coming to see kids - she is sort og unofficial god parent so always good to see her which isnt enough

CAM any news on the move?? havent watched news for couple of days hows it going??

largevirginbirthandtonic · 06/01/2008 12:20

Welcome back jbb, nice to have you with us again!

Scoooot stop vanishing, anyone would think you have bben busy

B is all over the bloomin place, he rolls over in his cot and can sit up from lying down. I went in to get him yesterday morning and he was sat up looking round! DH will be dropping his cot down today as i know it is only a matter of time before he will be hauling himself up along side. I fear crawling is just round the corner, noooooooooo.

Abby some people on here just forget where they are sometimes i think, i bet the ones who mouth off on here wouldnt dare in RL. Head high and stay away my lovely.

AM lovely Ella pics! Your clothes sound lovely but then you are a bean pole. I am still not back to full appetite after being ill so am hoping i will shed another stone soon. I need to before i get pregnant and stack it all back on again

Are yiou still eating fruit TYG or do i need to send round the sweetie box?

AprilMeadow · 06/01/2008 12:44

I would hardly say bean pole! I thought you looked fab when i saw you last. When can we come visit again?

AprilMeadow · 06/01/2008 12:45

It's Hugs's birthday coming up is it not??

mom2latinoboys · 06/01/2008 13:26

Hi everyone. Well yesterday was a sad day. I changed Cruz's carseat, because the infant was way too small. So now he's in a convertable that can go to forward facing when he's a year. Here the law is forward facing at 1 year and 20 pounds.

I also did the unthinkable and put his 6-9 mo clothes away. So now he's wearing 12 month clothes. This 7 mo baby is so big, and he crawling like a fiend, trying to stand up. I keep telling him not to rush, but he just won't listen. So I'm sad. New goal: Lose this baby weight so I can get pregnant again.

MumtoCharlotteMay · 06/01/2008 15:15

Hey everyone

Just running in to say hello.

I'm the worst mother ever lol! C fell off the bed....again! We were both asleep having a cuddle and the next thing I know there's a thump on the floor followed my an almighty wail! Dear lord this child can now move, AM absolutley need eyes in the back of my arse right now!

Oh and Abby, I felt like crap the other day when I was writing on a thread. Felt like it was implied I was a shit mum because I used talcum powder on C after her bath. Only use it around her nappy area so that her skin doesn't chafe if it's still damp. Felt like I was totally jumped on with the sly, nasty comments such as 'oh well the imformation regarding it's dangerous use is there for you to read, it's up to you to read them. Fgs, I just don't understand how some people can be so blindly misinformed!'

Felt like telling some of them to go piss up a rope. Some of the women on here are incredibly defensive and if you don't do everything 'their' way, it's clearly the wrong way! Makes you feel like you should just stick to the post natal thread you're on. I'm always scared to post anything incase it sparks a negative reaction. If one does it, the rest of the flock seem to follow on some threads.

Just ignore them, it's them with the problem.

Catch up later, have a very tired baby who is refusing to sleep.......
