hi TALLUBA shes alot better thanks, hows yous all?
ready for santa?

nowbringussomeJammypudding · 20/12/2007 11:17

DD is snuffly and I can feel her chest rattle as she breathes She is in a grouchy mood with it. Have given Calpol and plenty of cuddles, have Karvol and saline drops to hand to help breathing too.

Just contacted the salary dept about the letter I got yesterday (that basically said we have overpaid you. you owe us >£2000. Pay us now) to say I think demanding immediate repayment is unfair and asking them to explain how they worked out what I owe, because it was £400 different to my estimation. AIBU?

TALLUBAHHUMBUGBELL · 20/12/2007 11:17

Just been Xmas shopping ................

for myself!
Decided not to let DH away with not getting me anything. Now I'll need to get something for him tho' -

TALLUBAHHUMBUGBELL · 20/12/2007 11:20

Not at all Jammy. Had similar prob with tax dept a few years ago. They had me on wrong tax code for a year then demanded thousands back within 30 days. Bs. Hope you have more luck arguing your case than I did.

WewishyouaBUMPERLICIOUS · 20/12/2007 11:22

Tossers jammy! yanbu

Tallulah glad you are getting something for christmas now!

Trace hope chloe is better. I know sometime you don't feel like posting when things just seem to all be going rubbish but you know you can vent on here anytime

nowbringussomeJammypudding · 20/12/2007 11:23

Good for you tallulah

Baby group xmas party this pm. If DD is cold-y should we go? I want to as haven't been to many groups past couple of weeks for one reason or another so would enjoy the company, but worry about spreading germs etc, and if I should just keep her home to help her recover quicker?

nowbringussomeJammypudding · 20/12/2007 11:25

Odd thing is I want to pay it back straight off, I've been telling them that sine July. I have the money thankfully. I just objected to the tone of the letter and the principle. Also, if they can get my pay wrong 5 months running, why should I believe the magic number they've just quoted at me?

TALLUBAHHUMBUGBELL · 20/12/2007 11:33

Is she bad with the cold or just a little snuffly? I would go if the latter - if DD not too miserable . There'll be no groups on thru the hols so make the most of the company now - & gives you a chance to maybe arrange coffee with other mums whilst the groups off.

TinselTrace2 · 20/12/2007 11:34

good the amount would put me over edge good job you got it

TALLUBAHHUMBUGBELL · 20/12/2007 11:40

A well bedtime Down Under. Have a nice day folks.

nowbringussomeJammypudding · 20/12/2007 11:40

Thankfully Trace I spotted their mistakes straight away and put money into separate account. If their letter is right I'm about £150 short, but can work that out with a little thought. But I appreciate that not everyone is so lucky and think they're taking the piss a bit. I guess it feels worse too the week before Xmas

TinselTrace2 · 20/12/2007 11:49

night nite

TheTwelveDAISYOfChristmas · 20/12/2007 11:58

I missed tallulah again...e-maile me about the nappy rash tallulah, but I will say we are keeping on top of it, by using e45 lotion and paper liners to clean her bum (tissue disintegrates, kitchen roll too hard), or avent cleansing lotion if it's a smelly one, otherwise the poo smell lingers with judicious use of hydrocortisone as the need arises. The doc is convinced it's eczema, and we are back in disposables as real nappies make it worse, especially around her thighs and across her tummy where the elastic rubs.

Trace, how is everyone in your house? I hope you're all feeling better.

Norty...it's the first time we've been late, and I'm sure it won't be the last. I'm just aware that my standards are slipping somewhat with all that's going on.

Daisy, when do your school hols start?

We broke up yesterday, how lovely not to have to do packed lunches, uniform, shouting etc!

Our boiler knackered too. finally getting a new one (ouch at the cost) on saturday.

nowbringussomeJammypudding · 20/12/2007 12:10

Shame about the boiler Foxy, but wishing you a very toasty Xmas

WewishyouaBUMPERLICIOUS · 20/12/2007 12:21

ouch foxy! at least we rent so not our problem IYKWIM?

mhc, why are dh's parents so horrid?

TheTwelveDAISYOfChristmas · 20/12/2007 12:33

schools here don't finish till tomorrow, then go back on the 7th. I need to make sure I've got clean uniform for him for next term as we will be away the full two weeks.

Spoke to my sister earlier. Mum is going into the hospice today. I'm going up tomorrow and DH will follow with DS on Saturday as they need to go and see DHs family.

mixed feelings about her being in the hospice. At least my DSis will be able to gt back to normal and the kids can have some sort of a normal Christmas, and the hospice is the best place for her as she will get really good care, but she isn't coming out again . She so wanted to be at home for Christmas, so things must be bad for her to ask to go into the hospice. DSis said it's unlikely she will still be with us after the weekend

Anyway, lots and lots to do before tomorrow.

If I don't manage to get logged on, I hope everyone has a really good Christmas and New Year, and that Santa (secret or otherwise) is good to you all.

Enjoy all the First Christmasses and we'll have a Best "baby in a box with a mouthful of curly ribbon" competition in the New Year .

Holly, I'll e-mail you my mobile phone number. Let me know if your DH gets the bag and I'll paypal you.

My secret santa recipient hasn't mentioned her package arriving yet. It was posted at the beginning of the week so it should be on its way.

I'll let you know how things go via Bumper (if that's all right Bumper)

mhc and derlor, I'l be in touch

Take Care lovelies, and thanks for listening over the last few weeks. you guys are just the best!
