hi Daisy, are you any nearer to getting everything sorted?

TheTwelveDAISYOfChristmas · 18/12/2007 20:23

yes sputnik; only DHs blardy hiking socks to buy now (although I'm sure he wouldn't care if he didn't get them this side of new Year), a wee pressie for him from the DCs, and I said I'd pick something up for my friend for her DH so I'm off into town tomorrow.

I've decided that Christmas cards can be quietly forgotten about this year; not really in the mood now for spreading festive cheer, so it's a good job I got the SS pressies out of the way yesterday

cold reaching new heights too, all achey and sore......why do you always feel worse at night and first thing in the morning with a cold. I've felt fine all day

I decided xmas cards could be quietly forgotten about when I was about 13 . I'm sure people will understand. Make yourself something hot with a drop of something

HaveYourselfaNortyLittleXmas · 18/12/2007 20:40

Meant to say ealier SS parcel has come - thank-you

FairyOnTopOfTheChristmasTree · 18/12/2007 20:41

Hi all.

Daisy, I gave up on xmas cards for most people last year. I just send to a couple of older family members who i rarely see. I sent an email to friends and other family wishing them a merry christmas and telling them that we weren't doing xmas cards but were making a charity donation instead. I then popped £10 in the collection box for our local children's hospice, who I'm sure appreciated it far more than my friends and relatives.

I think I'm coming down with the DCs cold as well - buggery arse.

Sputnik · 18/12/2007 20:48

I think that's the way of the future Fairy

foxythesnowman · 18/12/2007 20:51

Christmas Cards are soooo not green!

I today received a card sent through the post by someone I see daily in the playground.

Well, when I want lo to have formula, do you think she'll have it? Oh no! She raises an eyebrow, smiles a crooked smile and spits it out with a "you are having a laugh, aren't you mummy?" look.

I want to sleep tonight! I want to go out on Thursday!

Elsbells · 18/12/2007 20:51

evening.

Daisy, I know I don't know you too well but hugs about your mom. That is really sad and I just hope it is not too bad.

Everyone else ok?

DD had a temp of over 102 earlier scaring the shit out of me. All fine now and temp normal but I with her being DC2 I sometimes take her for granted. I did with my pg with her as well until I had a bleed at 27 weeks and realised that I needed to slow down a bit.

And she choked a piece of wholemeal pitta earlier. She just kept grabbing for it so I gave it to her. [flbush]

It's a lot less stressful and I always thought it was pointless giving cards to people I see regularly, which just say Dear the Blogs, merry christmas from the Fairys. I only now send cards to people who I want to tell what we've been doing.

Elsbells · 18/12/2007 20:53

oops
I hate my computer

foxythesnowman · 18/12/2007 21:03

righto, am off! have baby vom all the way down my back. nice!

n'night!

FairyOnTopOfTheChristmasTree · 18/12/2007 21:04

I'm going too, a few jobs to do and then an early night. Sweet dreams everyone

TheTwelveDAISYOfChristmas · 18/12/2007 21:07

thanks elsbels . It's just about making her comfortable now unfortunately .

DD choked on some baguette yesterday so I'm with you on the guilty mum bit!

She did really well with food today; more home made soup at lunchtime, followed by Ambrosia creamed rice ( but she only had a tiny bit of mine!), then baked potato with some buter and cheese for tea, followed by a strawberry, some blueberries and raspberries. Oh and some Organix apple and cinnamon rice cakes earlier in the afternoon (which I must say were quite yummy; so much so that she had three and then I finished te packet )

Right am off to watch Gordon and nurse my cold with a lemsip.

I do still send a lot of cards, but I agree with not sending them to people you see on a daily basis. But we have friends and family all over the country and I like them to know that we do think about them and care about them even though we can't see them regularly, so we send cards. Some could be done by email I guess but I'm a bit old fashioned. Normally I make the cards, but time has been pressed this year so they've been bought. Also, normally I write a little note in each one, but I'm afraid this year it has been a case of To Whoever, Merry Christas, love Jammy, DH and DD. But they have all got a cheesy photo of us . And any cards we receive get made into gift tags for next year, so I get pleasure from them 2 years running

Just written the food shopping list for Xmas. I don't want to be in earshot when DH (who goes to get it) sees how long it is .

nowbringussomeJammypudding · 18/12/2007 21:28

BTW I have just added the cheesy Xmas pic we've sent out to my profile

I'm probably just being paranoid, our house is on 1 levl so never even had to do normal stairs before.

MHc, I don't have you on FB either, will hunt you down.

Tonight's Gordon Ramsey was just down the road from me! Won't be going there though, looked a bit pricey!

Daisy, I have a dilemma you can help me with too, I'm just about to FB you if you are around!
